Chapter Summary:

Blessi is tired and needs sleep but he just can't stop being the fool parent he is.

A/N: I'll try to contain all the gender changes one chapter every shift. No promises tho

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm writing on my phone and my keyboard doesn't allow me to write letters with markings that denoted accents. So I'm sorry if it's annoying to read the words without the usual markings.

Admittedly, having a child was not what Blessi expected after a year of living in Colombia.

It was sudden and hectic but he grew to love and care for his Pedrito. He was so scared during the process, scared that he would do something wrong or accidentally kill the little babe. Most importantly he was afraid of his child growing up feeling unloved or abandoned by his biological mother.

Which was kinda true since the travelling dancer wasn't ready for any kind of responsibility. And she had the right to give the child to him. It was sort of his fault for not pulling out fast enough. Which led to the mother showing up at his doorstep a month ago after childbirth.

But his virginity was gone now.

It probably sounds kind of sad to a normal het male that he hasn't had sex in his two lifetimes until now.

Shaking out of his thoughts, Blessi gently put the sleeping infant inside the crib. He placed a gentle kiss on his corazoncito's forehead. Getting up in the middle of the night was tiring especially for him who's scared of the dark. He only puts on a brave facade for his little one.

Blessi went back to his bed and collapsed on it. It wasn't long before he fell deep asleep.

This was his life now.

Spreading the journals from his mother's side on his desk, he began to learn its contents and continued on from where his last lessons with his mom ended.

This type of magic isn't really his forte nor was it something he liked and felt connected to.

Luckily his mom's family were diverse in other kinds of witchcraft other than black magic which was common in the family and his mom's specialty. It's a great shame that these practises aren't as widely accepted as they were in his previous life. But then again he was born in a pretty liberal generation.

"Pa!", a child's voice shouted after a series of unintelligible background babbles.

Blessi froze as he failed to comprehend what he heard.

"Pa! Pa!!", His little corazon repeated with uncontrollable giggles. Pedrito was clapping his hands to get his attention.

Finally Blessi was brought back to his senses. He started crying in joy and scrambled to reach his little star. Once he reached him, he twirled him around and raised him up to the joyful screaming and giggling of his child.

"Hahahaha! What did you say? Say it again mi corazoncito!" He exclaimed gleefully with a tear stained face.

"Pa!!" His little star shouted just as gleefully.

Blessi peppered kisses all over him making him shriek and squirm.

His little star was so smart! And he said his first word at only ten months too! He was raising quite the genius, and he would be as handsome as his papa.

Today they're celebrating with Pedrito's favourite foods.

Making plans in his head, Blessi cleaned up his desk and prepared both of them to go harvest fruit and nuts. They also have to go to the market today as well.

Taking his coat, he locks the house and begins the long trek to the town with his child.

Upon arriving, he could see the busy movements of the vendors and the bustling of the neighbourhood wives. He could also hear multiple voices bargaining and haggling prices. It took a moment to reorient himself from the overwhelming presence of people. He was too used to the peaceful surroundings of his house on the hill.

'Well there's no other choice.' He thinks as he shifts his baby and quickened his pace, Heading towards the usual vendors he buys from.

A couple of very fast and very aggressive bargains later, He comes out of the crowd tired but satisfied. He had to comfort his little star a few times because it was too loud and scary for him. That could actually be said for the both of them, Blessi just bears with it better.

For the other items he needs he just gets from the neighbours he's been doing favours for.

Then he starts going back to their home while rocking his little star to sleep.

Maybe he should buy a horse and a waggon. First he needs to save up and earn money. He still has the huge amount that he brought with him but they can't live off of that forever.

He is quite the excellent author if he does say so himself. He had been one in his last life too.

Romance is always a good genre to start with and he already has so many manuscripts he has written in boredom.

Food for thought. Although speaking of food, he does have a lot to prepare at home.

His lips quirk up and he can't quite stop the goofy smile that spreads across his face in pride of his baby's first word. Even if he is already tired, it's been a very happy morning for him. He loves his son and he would've gone crazy if he had continued being alone in his house.

Even though he doesn't get woken up at night as much as before he still can't get rid of the habit of waking up at random points in the night. In response to this he brings out his journals and starts learning more witchcraft. Other times he writes more pages for his book.

This leads to him being very haggard in the morning.

Today was one such morning.

Blessi groaned into a pillow as he woke up way too early again. He pries one of his eyes open and rubs the crust that formed away. Pushing himself up, he groggily tries to make sure he doesn't fall asleep again. There wasn't much point in trying to sleep again, the pocket watch on the bedside table shows that it's 4:30 in the morning

Finally snapping out of that sleepy haze, he gets up and fixes the bed.

Then he grabs a towel and a change of clothes. Honestly the ribcage showers of this time were scary. And they cost a lot. His heart aches at the amount he had to spend to get that installed. Spending any money at all makes his heart hurt.

Maybe he should've stuck with regular bathtubs, he's had less than desirable bathing equipment in his last life after all.

After a quick shower he got dressed and went to check on his child who was still peacefully sleeping in his crib.

The scene brought a small smile to his face and he went on to make breakfast.

Trying to be as quiet as possible was a challenge early in the morning. He accidentally clanged a pot and froze to check if it woke up the baby. Hearing nothing, Blessi let out a relieved sigh and turned back to the counter only to knock down the pot's lid.

His heart spiked and his eyes widened as he failed to catch the falling object. The loud bang caused his baby to wake up and wail loudly. Jerkily turning, he sees his child crying in discomfort and he hurriedly takes off his apron.

Blessi snatched the lid and put it on the counter but knocked the pot down again, spilling the water and rice. He panicked and put a cloth over the mess to fix it up later.

Running to the crib he lifts up his little star and rocks him a little while shushing him and whispering sweet nothings.

Finally getting him to calm down and fall asleep, he puts him in the crib once more.

Going back to the kitchen, he looks at the mess he made and is discouraged from making rice for breakfast. So he cleaned it up and made a sandwich with egg. After he finished eating, he went to put his plate in the sink only to see the dishes he 'forgot' to wash last night.

He pursed his lips in displeasure and let out a disgruntled sigh.

Then he lifts up his sleeves and sets to scrubbing his kitchenware and dishes clean.

The dishes were washed, breakfast eaten, and everything was cleaned up. Blessi wants nothing more than to go back to sleep again. Unfortunately it's only 5:45. Chores await him and he still has a baby to take care of.

He groans and sinks into an armchair face first. The idea of more work is so unappealing.

Shifting his head to the side, he catches sight of his child and his eyes soften. He isn't only doing all of this for himself. It's not much but the thought does power him through his day.

Blessi really hates Mondays

A/N: Ugghh I hope I used the splattering of Spanish that I know correctly ;-;

I'm very tempted to make the story dark and gritty :)
