Summary:
Tiny Pedro's pov 333
A/N:
Is the chapter title foreshadowing? Maybe :)
Pedro is three, almost four now and a bit less tiring to take care of. Blessi doesn't have to constantly look over their shoulder in worry of him anymore.
Over the years they have made friends with Gabriella who was also a single parent.
They both take turns watching both their young ones.
However, Blessi has had many thoughts of traveling. There was a constant buzz under their skin itching for something new and exciting. Even though they like staying put in their room most of the time, they were getting sick of facing the same walls and scenery every day.
These kind of thoughts were chased away because they still had to take care of their Pedrito. But now their little star is capable of doing a lot of things independently with a bit of guidance. It was mostly due to their ceaseless paranoia that led to them teaching their child how to take care of themself.
They were scared that something bad would happen and would somehow separate them.
But now thoughts of traveling have resurged and flooded their mind leaving them distracted for a while now.
Even their house only has things they needed and no useless items.
It was like they subconsciously knew they would never stay too long and so they never bought things that are a hassle to carry around. Even the waggon they bought was a bit larger than the ones used for public transport.
Should they though? Would they even like life on the road?
Their brows furrow and they grimace at their conflicting thoughts.
"Hey I know that look, you worrying about something again?" Gabriella breaks their thought process.
Blessi let's out an aggravated huff and reclines on the plush armchair. "Yeah.. I'm just contemplating road life."
Gabbie gives them an exasperated unamused face. "Maybe you should just go with whatever you're feeling. I've had it with your whole indecisive shtick. It's like the only thing that's constant with you." She tells them while fussing with Darla, her daughter.
Which, ouch. But it was true, they couldn't choose so they decided they wanted it all. They tell her so.
"See? I'm always right." She smirks.
"Eughh wipe that ugly smug look off your face." They scrunch their nose and Gabbie hits them playfully. They do it back but Gabbie was determined to hit them last. Both of them ended up doing a tickle fest that their toddlers joined in on.
After the whole thing they invited Gabbie to stay over for dinner and for the rest of the night as well.
They knew her situation was hard after being disowned for getting pregnant with a random one night stand. She fled her home and went to the next town which was the one near them. So they sympathize with her and they're always ready to lend a helping hand. Being a single parent is very taxing and takes a lot of effort.
Shaking their head, they turned the lights off and went to their bed to finally sleep.
Pedro slowly tiptoed into the kitchen, careful not to make any sounds. He knows he shouldn't be awake since Mama already turned off the lights (or was it Papa? It always changes.).
But he can't sleep cause he already took tons of naps with Darla in the afternoon!
And he's hungry, Mama's birthday is tomorrow too and Pedro wants to surprise mama like when they surprise him for his birthday. For some reason Mama always forgets their own birthday. Which was silly since birthdays are the best! He gets presents on his birthday and he can do whatever he wants. How can Mama not get excited and check th-the cander— clander- celander? Calendar!
How can mama not check the calendar everyday for their birthday?
"Psst! You're awake too?", Darla whispered.
Pedro was startled at the sudden sound and fell on the floor. Thankfully he fell on the fluffy carpet instead of the cold floors.
"Oww"
"Sorry.." Darla winced, shoulders rising.
"Shhh! Don't wake up the adults!" He whisper-shouted.
Darla zipped her mouth while nodding frantically. He grabs her hand and leads her to the playroom. There he grabs a couple pieces of paper and Conte sticks.
"It's Mama's birthday tomorrow so I'm making a surprise to wow them!" Pedro proudly explained.
"Ooooh, Can I help?" Darla asked, intrigued.
Squinting his eyes, Pedro considers it for a moment. He wants to make it extra special and full of love from him like Mama always says. But it will take a long time to finish if he does it alone. If there's two people then that means double the love right? Mama deserves all the love!
So he nodded, finally making up his mind and agreeing.
Both of them color way into the night and fell asleep on the little fluffy bean bags that his Mama invented.
Their parents find them like that the next day and fuss over them.
Even though he was reprimanded for almost getting sick it was worth it to see his Mama's surprised happy face.
A/N:
I was going to make them travel in this chapter but it felt too unnatural and rushed.
So I decided to churn out more fluff and how Blessi's time in the outskirts of town affected them and their relationships with the townspeople.

I put invented there because bean bags were only made in the 1970s I think.
