No regrets Chapter 7
Stepping out of the shower reaching for the towel wrapping it around herself Ryoko dried herself off grabbing her clothes getting changed into a black mid sleeve v neck shirt, that laid baggy on her wearing a pair of her dark gray shorts. Coming up to the sink, wiping the condensation from the hot shower off the mirror glancing to her reflection for a moment. Drying her hair a little more it laid against her back and shoulders. Wrapping her arms around herself still feeling nauseated, not able to sleep in, rolling over it was already 6. Wondering if the hot shower would help her feel better, walking to the door flicking the light switch teleporting into the living room pausing for a moment looking around. The room was still dark from the sun just beginning to come up. Coming up to the couch turning a light switch on glancing around the room once more. Making her way to the coffee table thinking for a moment, sitting on the couch leaning down opening one of the drawers grabbing the long black lighter reaching for the mandarin vanilla candle lighting it. Not much for candles, buying a couple the other day. Setting the candle down leaning back a little standing up pausing as her cell phone beeped. Arching an eyebrow reaching for it seeing it was Hige telling her good morning. Looking to the time it was already 6:43. Texting him back making her way into the kitchen flicking the light switch wanting a cup of coffee. Her phone beeped again as she looked to it, Hige had asked what she was doing up so early. Turning the coffee pot on as she wrote him back reaching to the cabinet above the counter for the coffee. Her phone beeped again as Hige asked if she had breakfast yet, he was on his way home from work. Not eating anything yet, she hadn't even thought that far yet as to what to eat. Just wanting a hot shower and a fresh cup of coffee is all she had planned at the moment. Writing him back telling him that she just started coffee not even knowing what to eat yet. Turning making her way to the sink reaching for one of her favorite coffee cups that was black with cherry blossoms laid all around the cup. Hige wrote back with a smiley face. Shaking her head softly coming up to the island counter sitting running her hands thru her damp hair sighing deeply.
Holding her cup with both hands taking a long sip, pausing for a moment savoring the taste. Taking another long sip arching an eyebrow as someone knocked from the front door. Turning slowly making her way teleporting to the front door opening it pausing looking to Hige. Smiling softly Hige held up a couple bags in his hands smirking.
"Morning love" he spoke leaning to her kissing her forehead gently. Taking a couple steps back Ryoko watched him sipping her coffee as he came in.
"What are you doing… you should be at home getting some rest" Ryoko spoke closing the door behind him as he glanced to her slipping his shoes off.
"I was gonna stop by to see if you were ok anyways, just happened you were already up so, breakfast" he spoke holding the bags up. Shaking her head softly smiling the two of them made their way to the kitchen.
"Thanks, you didn't have too" Ryoko spoke as Hige came up to the island counter setting the bags down looking to her.
"I know, but I wanted too. You feeling any better?" Hige asked watching her as she reached for a couple plates from the drain board in the sink turning nodding her head.
"Yea a little" Ryoko spoke setting the plates down taking a long sip of her coffee.
"Coffee?" she asked.
"Sure… I got… sausage egg and cheese, Bacon egg and cheese, bagels with sausage than bacon, then I got a new one it's a Frisco, with like a sour dough bread, it's delicious" he spoke going thru the bags setting the sandwiches out on the counter. Arching an eyebrow glancing to him setting her cup down reaching for another from the cabinet.
"And I got hash browns" Hige spoke. Pouring the cup of coffee up to the rim turning she held it out to him as he reached for it.
"Your hands are cold" he spoke pausing for a moment looking to her. Reaching behind her grabbing her cup taking a long sip looking to him. Shrugging softly, she sat across from him setting her cup down.
"I stay cold most of the time, I may be pregnant, but you didn't have to go and buy that much food" she replied. Snickering Hige sat down grabbing his coffee cup taking a sip.
"Wasn't sure which one you'd prefer, pick what ya want " Hige spoke taking another sip of his coffee handing her some hash browns. Shaking her head slightly grabbing them setting them on her plate.
"How was work?" Ryoko spoke eating a couple hash browns.
"It was alright, busy" Hige spoke grabbing his hash browns and one of the bagel sandwiches. Grabbing the other bagel bacon egg and cheese Ryoko ate a couple more hash browns.
"Thank you for breakfast by the way" Ryoko spoke glancing to him grabbing her coffee.
"Stop thanking me, I get breakfast on my way home sometimes" Hige replied. Unwrapping her sandwich taking a bite leaning back a little. The food was actually better than what she thought it was going to be.
"So, what you got any plans today?" Hige asked leaning an elbow on the counter eating a couple hash browns as he looked to her. Shrugging Ryoko took a bite of her sandwich.
"Not sure" she replied looking to him. The two of them looked to each other for a couple moments as he winked to her. Shaking her head smiling softly reaching for her cup. Looking over her for another moment Hige starred at her for a moment more.
Finishing breakfast putting the couple sandwiches in the fridge putting the couple plates in the sink putting on a fresh pot of coffee. Wrapping her arms around herself turning as Hige stood up from the island counter holding his coffee looking to her for a second.
"So what about you, any plans for the rest of the day?" she asked meeting his gaze.
"Nothing… go home and sleep for a little while, work on a couple things for work…" Hige spoke coming up to her leaning his back against the counter.
"Yea… you work the rest of the week?."
"Tonight, and tomorrow. Was supposed to be off tomorrow but needed to come in for a couple things" Hige spoke sipping his coffee. Turning her head Ryoko reached for her cup off of the counter behind her taking a sip leaning up for a moment glancing to the pot of coffee for a moment.
"You're welcome to stay here and crash if you'd like, I mainly do my work for my mom on the couch or in here" Ryoko spoke looking to him. Smiling Hige nodded his head taking a drink of his coffee.
"Tempting… say I was thinking… maybe one night this week we could go out to dinner again" he spoke. Leaning back against the counter close beside him Ryoko looked to Hige for a moment.
"Yea I guess" Ryoko replied.
"Or coffee, or whatever you felt up too" Hige spoke as they looked to each other. Smiling softly nodding her head Ryoko took another sip of her coffee wrapping her other arm around herself.
"Sounds good" she spoke.
"That's if you felt like it…" Hige paused all of a sudden as a knock on the front door broke thru the air. Leaning up off the counter Ryoko took a long sip of her coffee turning setting it down.
"Be right back" Ryoko spoke, then teleporting into the living room coming up to the door opening it. Stopping suddenly arching an eyebrow starring at Tenchi as he stood on the porch. Waving to her for a moment smiling softly.
"Hi Ryoko" Tenchi spoke.
"Tenchi, what the hell are you doing here, and how did you get my address?" Ryoko asked crossing her arms across her chest.
"Ayeka gave it to me, I guess she got it from little Washu…" Tenchi spoke shrugging.
"You still didn't answer my question" Ryoko spoke glancing behind him to the cab driving parked in the driveway behind Hige's car. The morning sun was beginning to go away with oncoming clouds rolling in.
"I wanted to see you…. Make sure you were alright" Tenchi spoke.
"You saw me yesterday...now all of a sudden you want to check in on me? A simple phone call would've been a hell 'a lot easier" Ryoko spoke. Coming up thru the kitchen walkway Hige came to a stop glancing to Ryoko, then at the door to Tenchi in front of her not knowing who he was yet.
"I don't have your number, look Ryoko I'm sorry…. After seeing you at the house yesterday made me think a lot about you…" Tenchi spoke up.
"Does Ayeka know you're here?" Ryoko asked getting pissed.
"What does that matter?" Tenchi asked shrugging.
"You're getting married in less than 6 days, so you wanna drive all the way out here, a 2-hour train ride and a 30-minute car drive to my house, just to make sure I'm alright? When I haven't seen or heard from you, anyone but Washu and Kiyone, to make sure I'm alright? If I wanted you all to care, I wouldn't had moved out Tenchi, I don't give a shit any more… you need to leave before I call Ayeka" Ryoko spoke.
"Ryoko wait a second… "Tenchi spoke taking a step towards her. Ryoko eyed him as he paused sighing deeply. Hige turned setting his coffee cup down off on the end table near the chair looking back to the both of them.
"I just wanted to apologize… I never meant for any of this to happen, especially to you."
"Ok, now you've said your peace, now go away" Ryoko spoke starring at him.
"I kinda miss you being there Ryoko…" Tenchi spoke glancing to the ground for a moment. Sighing deeply Ryoko brought a hand up to her forehead trying not to kick his ass of her porch.
"Tenchi, just go away. Whatever is done, you need to focus on yourself and Ayeka instead of being all the way out here. Washu would more than be glad to let you call me on her computers or phone. Move on Tenchi" Ryoko spoke lowering her hand looking to him. Nodding his head Tenchi looked to the ground for a moment or two before lifting his head looking to her.
"Bye Tenchi, I'll see you Saturday" Ryoko spoke taking a step back reaching for the door.
"Ryoko wait..." Tenchi spoke taking a step forward grabbing her arm as she grabbed the door. Pausing for a moment Ryoko narrowed her eyes looking to him as he starred at her.
"Let go" she spoke getting pissed. Eyes narrowing Hige watched him for a moment.
"Ryoko, one more thing" Tenchi spoke lowering his hand still holding her arm as Tenchi leaned in closer to her pulling her to him. Taking a step back Ryoko ripped her hand from Tenchi's grasp, her hand aiming to Tenchi's face. Little red lightening sparks formed around her hand.
"Take another step I'll blow your head off…" Ryoko spoke in a low tone almost a growl, starring at him. Tenchi starred at her for a moment taking a step back.
"Leave now..." Ryoko spoke up eyeing him. Nodding his head slowly Tenchi took a step back, looking to her one more time before turning making his way back to the cab. Lowering her hand Ryoko watched him as he walked, gulping taking a step back slamming the door shut. Pausing with her hand on the door still lowering her head taking a deep breath. Coming up beside her slowly Hige lowered his head looking to her briefly touching her elbow for a moment.
"You ok…" he spoke. Nodding her head Ryoko lifted her head leaning back from the door locking it, turning looking to Hige as she wrapped her arms around herself.
"Thank you for… not stepping in, I saw you in here" Ryoko spoke.
"Almost did when he put his hand on you… you sure you're alright?" Hige asked. Nodding her head Ryoko gulped sighing deeply.
"That's the idiot who…" Ryoko paused for a moment tightening her arms around herself.
"I already figured it out" Hige spoke bringing a hand up to her arm. Gulping, looking to Hige for a moment.
"Thank you..." she spoke. Taking a step closer Hige kissed her forehead gently, looking to her.
"You say that too much" he spoke. Snickering Ryoko shook her head softly, leaning to him as Hige wrapped his arms around her.
Deciding to stay for a while in case Tenchi came back, the two of them decided to lay down for a while so Hige could get some rest. Not being able to sleep very long getting up Ryoko let Hige sleep. Teleporting out of her bedroom yawning as she stretched her arms above her head fixing her black shirt about her waist making her way through the living room teleporting into the kitchen. Glancing around for a moment looking to the time it was already almost 1. Realizing she was actually hungry making her way to the fridge looking inside. Grabbing one of the sandwiches from breakfast deciding to heat that up and start working on some stuff for Washu. Hey everything alright Washu spoke up telepathically. Sighing softly shaking her head Ryoko came up to the coffee pot wanting to make fresh. Yea, why?
"Just wondering because I texted you earlier and no response" Washu spoke up teleporting into the kitchen looking around for a moment. Turning Ryoko eyed her for a moment coming to the sink pouring the stale coffee out.
"I was asleep" Ryoko spoke.
"Ahh… the girls had fun last night, thanks for showing up" Washu spoke coming up beside her leaning her back against the counter holding a cup in her hand, sipping her tea that Sasami made. Eyeing her for a moment rinsing out the coffee pot setting it in the drain as Washu looked to her.
"What?" Washu asked.
"Nothing, Let Ayeka know she better tighten the leash she has on Tenchi before he gets his ass beat" Ryoko spoke coming up to the microwave as it beeped. Arching an eyebrow Washu watched her for a moment.
"What did he do?" Washu asked.
"Wound up paying me a visit this morning, not even 8 o'clock yet...said he missed me and tried coming on to me, almost blew him off the porch for him to let go of my arm" Ryoko spoke turning with her plate in hand. Washu just stood there starring at her.
"You can ask Hige, he was here, he saw the whole thing" Ryoko spoke coming up to the fridge grabbing a soda turning as she disappeared.
"How the hell did he get here?" Washu asked following her into the living room as Ryoko sat on the couch.
"He took a cab it was parked in the driveway… he said he got my address from Ayeka, so yea dumbshit took a 2-hour train ride, then drove in a cab, 30 minutes here just to piss me the hell off" Ryoko spoke setting her plate down on the coffee table in front of her looking to Washu as she sat beside her. Shaking her head Washu sipped her tea looking to Ryoko for a moment.
"You ok?" she asked.
"Yea, just aggravated and pissed, why the hell does Ayeka have my address?"
"She wanted it so when she sends thank you notes… What did Hige say about it?" Washu asked leaning back a little looking to her.
"He was pissed, said if Tenchi wouldn't had backed off, he would've stepped in" Ryoko spoke glancing to Washu.
"Hmm… I saw him earlier but the fact he left without anyone knowing… as far as I know of. What an idiot" Washu spoke sitting cross legged sipping her tea. Eyeing her for a moment opening her soda taking a drink.
"Is Hige still here?" Washu asked looking around a little.
"Yea, he's asleep" Ryoko spoke setting her drink down. Nodding her head a little Washu watched Ryoko.
"What?" she asked looking to her mother.
"Nothing" Washu spoke smiling softly.
"I swear… he works midnights working till 6 in the morning ok, damn" Ryoko spoke rolling her eyes as Washu laughed a little.
"So, is he your boyfriend yet?" Washu asked looking to Ryoko sipping her tea once more. Reaching for her plate pausing looking to her mother eyeing her.
"Ok ok… just asking. Damn if looks could kill" Washu spoke laughing a little finishing off her tea.
"So what time is the wedding Saturday?" Ryoko asked taking a bite of her sandwich.
"I think 3, I'll double check, you wanna come to help set up Friday night?" Washu asked leaning forwards setting her cup down on the coffee table.
"Do I have too?" Ryoko asked looking to her for a second. Shrugging Washu leaned back against the couch.
"You don't have too, Ayeka wants to have it outside… was thinking about the shrines but that's a lot of foot work especially for Kiyone, Mihoshi and Tenchi so, might just have it in the back yard" Washu spoke. Taking another bite of her food Ryoko reached for her soda.
"Who's going to marry them, they don't know any priest" Ryoko spoke looking to her mother leaning her elbows on her knees.
"Yosho" Washu spoke looking back to her. Shaking her head Ryoko took a sip of her drink.
"They're going to Tokyo for a week or so, some little beach house Ayeka found" Washu spoke stretching her arms above her head yawning widely.
"Wonder who's paying for that" Ryoko spoke rolling her eyes already knowing it was Tenchi's father Nobuyuki.
"Yea, you guessed it. Nobuyuki is actually very excited, he's been clingy the last couple days you know how he gets, hugging Tenchi every chance he gets, acts like Tenchi's leaving" Washu spoke lowering her arms.
"So, what are they going to do, stay there at the house with everyone?" Ryoko asked.
"I guess, it is Tenchi's house, Ayeka has nowhere to go but back to Jurai" Washu spoke. Taking another bite of her sandwich.
"Good luck with that" Ryoko spoke looking to Washu for a moment.
"Yea I know, she'll wind up pregnant before long watch" Washu spoke stretching her legs out in front of her resting her feet on the floor. Eyeing her for a moment Ryoko took another bite of her sandwich setting it down on the plate grabbing her drink.
"Alright, well let me know if you need anything" Washu spoke standing up. Saluting her Ryoko reached for her sandwich as Washu disappeared. Sighing softly shaking her head leaning back holding her plate grabbing the remote crossing her legs turning the TV on.
Glancing to the time Hige pulled his shirt over his head walking out of the bathroom flicking the light switch making his way thru the darkened bedroom. Clouds rolling thru since this morning it started to rain all day. Leaving the bedroom door open behind him glancing around the living room for a second as he made his way into the kitchen looking to Ryoko as she finished up cleaning the kitchen.
"I could've helped you get in here cleaned up" Hige spoke. Glancing behind her looking to Hige as he came up beside her.
"No biggie" she spoke setting the hand towel on the counter leaning back a little.
"Dinner was good thank you, you gonna be alright tonight?" Hige asked leaning his back against the counter looking over her for a moment. Folding her arms across her stomach nodding her head. Starting dinner early the two of them wound up making dinner together, finishing up Hige took a shower for work.
"You helped make dinner" Ryoko spoke. Snickering Hige looked to her for a moment.
"Will I see you tomorrow?" Hige asked.
"Hmm...maybe" Ryoko spoke grinning a little leaning against the counter looking to him. Smiling Hige leaned up off the counter turning coming up to her.
"If that idiot shows up let me know, I'll text you the direct number to my office" Hige spoke coming up close to her. Nodding her head softly the two of them looked over each other for a few seconds. Gently kissing her forehead wrapping his arms around her, leaning into him resting her forehead against his. Cuddling against him a little more wrapping her arms around him, Hige held her his head against hers.
"You gonna be ok?" Hige asked.
"Hmm" Ryoko spoke leaning back a little bit.
"I'll call you on my break alright babe" he spoke. Nodding her head Hige kissed her forehead once more leaning back a little.
"Don't have too much fun" Ryoko spoke. Snickering Hige looked over her for a moment.
"I'll try not too hun" he replied.
Leaning back against her pillows bending her knees wrapping her arms around them looking to the TV for a moment than to the time. Already nearing 7 am, having another nightmare waking up a quarter to 5 not being able to really go back to bed. Just wanting to go back to sleep aggravated her enough from not being able to sleep in, tightening her grip around herself glancing over to the side for a moment to her coffee cup. Reaching for it she paused realizing her cup was empty. Sighing softly leaning up a little disappearing into the kitchen flicking the light switch. Coming up to the counter pouring the rest of the coffee into her cup leaning back taking a long sip. Already hearing from Hige saying he missed her asking if she was ok, writing back saying she was fine and missed him as well. Having a little more work that followed him home Hige said he would stop by before he went into work later on. Flicking the light off teleporting back into her bedroom looking to the TV as some commercial came on, sighing softly sitting on her bed leaning back against the pillows taking a long sip of her coffee. Grabbing her remote flicking thru a couple channels not really seeing anything interesting on at this time of morning, pausing looking to what looked like some suspense movie that had just started. Taking a long sip of her coffee leaning back a little more looking to the TV.
Appearing in the kitchen Washu made her way to the counter reaching to the drain board in the sink for a cup turning to the fresh coffee. Her ear twitching turning her head slightly looking to Tenchi as he made his way in letting the door close behind him pausing for a moment meeting Washu's gaze.
"Morning little Washu" Tenchi spoke making his way thru the kitchen to the back door.
"Morning" Washu spoke eyeing him for a moment as she grabbed her coffee.
"Tenchi" Washu said. Coming to a slow stop Tenchi turned his head looking to her coming to a stop at the back door.
"Yea?" he replied.
"… Ayeka won't be very happy if she found out you were at Ryoko's yesterday, lay a hand on her again and you won't have any..."Washu spoke taking a step back sipping her coffee suddenly disappearing. Arching an eyebrow Tenchi looked around the kitchen for a moment, sighing deeply rubbing the back of his neck turning making his way out the room. Appearing back in her lab Washu sat at the cushion chair sipping her coffee grinning as she snickered shaking her head softly.
Cracking the door Hige paused looking around the living room for a moment. The room was quiet, a couple lights laid throughout the living room. Taking a couple steps closing the door behind him holding a couple bags in the other hand. Calling Ryoko a little while letting her know he was on his way over, knocking he didn't hear anything. Slipping his shoes off taking a couple steps making his way to the kitchen seeing the lights were off. Turning making his way Ryoko's bedroom seeing it was cracked slowly opening the door a little more pausing looking to her asleep. All the lights were off, but the TV was on at a low volume. Setting his bags down at the door teleporting into the bedroom glancing to the TV as some reality tv show played. Reaching for the throw blanket at the end of the bed covering Ryoko up as she laid on her side cuddled against the pillows. Taking a step back teleporting back out the room cracking the door shut grabbing his bags making his way into the kitchen.
Opening her bedroom door wrapping her arms around her glancing around the living room a couple lights were turned on turning her head to the kitchen pausing as Hige rounded the corner looking to her.
"Hey…" he spoke looking over her for a moment.
"Hey… sorry I dozed off" Ryoko spoke as Hige came up to her kissing her forehead softly.
"You don't have to be sorry for that…?" he asked leaning back a little looking to her gently moving a couple loose strands from around her eyes as Ryoko leaned against him for a moment. Wrapping his arms around her holding her tightly. Cuddling against him a little more resting her head at the cape of his neck.
"Figured I could heat us up a couple pizzas, make some cold coffee" Hige spoke leaning his head against hers. Closing her eyes as he spoke taking a deep breath hoping the nausea along with her headache would go away. She could smell his cologne and his shampoo which went well together and smelt so good. Gently letting his fingers run up and down her back Hige held her.
"Laying back down might help you feel better or a warm bath" Hige spoke, already knowing she didn't feel good without her saying a word. Relaxing in his arms a little sighing deeply leaning back a little lifting a hand letting her fingers run through her hair.
"I'm fine" Ryoko spoke looking to him for a moment. Arching an eyebrow Hige looked to her holding her letting his hand come to stop.
"Cold coffee huh..." Ryoko spoke. Snickering Hige leaned to her kissing her forehead softly.
"Yea, I know this amazing, beautiful woman who loves them, you think she'd like some?" Hige asked.
"Hmm… I think she would" Ryoko replied smiling softly. Smiling Hige hugged her leaning his head against hers holding her tightly.
Grabbing the drooping lilies that laid on the nightstand beside her bed teleporting into the kitchen throwing them away coming up to the sink setting the Vace down turning looking to the new set of brightly fresh white lilies that sat on the island counter. Pausing looking over them leaning to them their aroma smelt so good. Looking to the clear Vace they sat in, holding them with both hands teleporting back into her bedroom setting them back on the nightstand. Leaning back a little turning the lamp on wrapping her arms around herself glancing around the bedroom for a moment. The curtains still closed from this morning the air felt cool. Turning making her way into the living room looking to the movie that continued playing. Watching the first half with Hige, than once he left picking up a little losing interest in it Ryoko came up to the french door windows glancing outside with the shades half way closed. It was still cloudy from yesterday with the rain continuing into today. Turning her head coming up to the TV turning it off. Glancing to her black pajama capri's than to her dark grey shirt similar to the one she had on yesterday with the collar a little low on her shoulders with the quarter sleeves coming up passed her elbows laying about her waist. Teleporting back into her bedroom reaching for her keys and wallet off of her night standing teleporting into the living room making sure her phone was in her pocket deciding to get out of the house a little while. Slipping her flip flops on at the door glancing around the room for a moment leaving the couple lamps on around the room. Opening the front door closing it behind her making sure it was locked making her way to her car.
Leaning her elbows on the shopping cart glancing to her shopping cart looking to more than what she had expected to get. A couple groceries, small odds and ins for the house, candles, a couple new towels and hand towels. A couple pieces of clothing that caught her eye. Sighing looking around for a moment deciding it was time to go. Hey Washu spoke up telepathically. What Ryoko replied as she started walking looking around trying to think if she needed anything else. Where you at, I came by Shaking her head Ryoko leaned up a little glancing to the display of movies pausing for a moment. The store… you have to know where I am all the time? Ryoko spoke. No, how's Hige? Reaching for a movie or two looking to the back looking them over for a moment. Fine, how'd you know he was over Ryoko asked tossing the couple movies into the cart turning as she made her way. Saw the lilies in your room Washu spoke. I'll be home in a little while Ryoko replied.
Sipping her cold coffee frappicno setting the last of the bags on the counter turning her head reaching for the couple of cold items turning to the fridge. Taking another sip setting her drink down turning looking to the time for a moment, it was already 8 o'clock. Wishing time could go that fast all the time finishing up putting the groceries up, leaving the hand towels on the island counter grabbing her couple bags of the clothes and movies teleporting into her bedroom pausing as her phone beeped. Reaching for it out of her pocket reading Hige's text asking if she was doing alright. Writing him back reaching for her clothes setting them out on the bed. Teleporting back into the kitchen grabbing her cold coffee teleporting back into her bedroom.
Teleporting into the kitchen flicking the light on looking around for a moment. Sighing softly Ryoko made her way across the room rubbing the back of her neck. Coming up to the fridge looking inside for a moment not knowing what she wanted. Reaching for a bottled water turning coming up to the island counter setting her drink down. Resting her elbows on the countertop cupping her face in her hands. Taking a deep breath closing her eyes rubbing her face. These nightmares were becoming more and more prominent than usual, along with them being more and more graphic than she'd like. Taking a deep breath lowering her hands resting her arms down folding them on top of each other. Hating feeling this way, after each one it felt as if it left her empty inside. Like each dream took a piece of her, destroying each little piece of her as she tried to whip her memory clean of it. Each dream was eating a piece of her soul after each one. Gulping lifting her gaze looking across the room at nothing as the dream replayed in her head. A rampage had gone on… she couldn't control it. Hurting people… trying to fight it she collapsed crying as she hid her face. Knowing Kagato was more than pissed the more and more she fought back trying to resist him. Forcing her with his power taking over her mind and body, making her finish the job burning the town down to just wreckage. Returning back to their ship making her suffer for her disobedience in more ways than one, that night was one night she tried to forget so hard. Replaying in her head, blinking a couple times tears rolled down her face. Gulping cupping her face once again taking a deep breath. Leaning back a little balling her fist grabbing her water bottle throwing it across the room as it hit the wall hard exploding as it fell to the floor. Falling to her knees covering her face as she cried. Replaying in her head, it was one of the worst nights Kagato had ever put her through. Literally hoping he would kill her in the mist of her torture she prayed it would all end would have been her miracle. Crouching over the floor as she cried, gripping her head with her hands crying out wishing she could just rip the memory out of her head and smash it too pieces like it was doing to her. Letting her arms drop to the floor as she cried trying to calm herself as she started feeling sick to her stomach. Gulping hard leaning back a little holding herself up with her arms. Lowering her head, letting her hair hide her tears that fell to the floor. The memories started to fade, taking a deep breath leaning back a little more. Suddenly placing her hand over her mouth feeling sick, teleporting to the bathroom just in time.
Throwing the water bottle away glancing to all the water that she had cleaned up wrapping am arm around her stomach coming up to the counter grabbing her coffee cup turning teleporting into her bedroom sitting on the bed taking a sip of her coffee. Setting her cup down on the nightstand looking to the time, it wasn't even 4 AM yet. Wrapping her arms around herself leaning back on the bed sitting cross legged. Reaching for her coffee pausing her phone beeped. Taking a long sip reaching for it off of her nightstand seeing Hige texted her telling her good morning. Setting her coffee down writing back glancing around her bedroom for a moment in the dim light of her lamp on her night stand. Teleporting up to her dresser grabbing her laptop sitting on top teleporting back to her bed getting comfortable. Her phone beeping once again, Hige asking what she doing up and if she felt alright. Replying just saying she couldn't sleep and she was fine. Setting her phone down beside her on the bed grabbing her coffee cup taking a long sip. Leaning back a little more against the pillows looking around the room for a moment as Hige replied back. Taking another sip looking to her phone as he asked if she had another one of those dreams. Sighing softly starring at her phone for a moment telling him yea, and that she was alright. It was par for the course she thought reaching for her coffee. This was her torment for treating all those people the way she did, she deserved far worse than nightmares. Thinking back on the medication Washu gave her back when she couldn't sleep for days because of the nightmares. Yea, it helped. But it physically drained so much out of her, all she seemed to do was sleep for almost a week straight. Once the nightmares stopped still taking the meds, all she wanted to do was sleep. As soon as she stopped taking them, she wasn't able to sleep without the medication, but the dreams had stopped. Just recently they started coming back in full force. Her phone beeping once more as she looked to it in her hands as Hige asked if she needed him to come over. He'd be getting off soon, knowing he had to be tired from coming over here after work the last couple days. Reaching for her coffee taking a long sip writing him telling him no that she was gonna try to go back to sleep. Well aware she was wide awake, not wanting to go back to sleep. Though it seemed like when he was here, she seemed to sleep a little better as he held her while they slept. But not wanting to seem to needy, or want him to feel that way. She had always took care of herself, not needing anyone now, or did she?. Not being used to someone who actually seemed to care… rather than just care only for what they wanted. Thinking back on the conversation the other morning between Hige and Quint, wondering if it really was fate that the two of them met. Maybe the two of them really did need each other, who knew?. Taking another sip of her coffee setting her phone down for a second reaching for her laptop turning it on. Setting her cup down crossing her legs looking to her phone as it beeped. Hige asking if she was sure, not minding if she needed him over. Replying telling him she was fine, he needed to go home and get some rest since he was off. Replying back almost immediately telling her he seemed to rest better while he was with her. Pausing for a moment reading his text smiling softly. Well by all means she replied back as she felt the same way. Stating that he still wanted to take her out on a second date. Leaning back against the pillows bending her knees resting them against herself holding her phone telling him it wasn't necessary. Telling her it was, and that he enjoyed seeing her happy. Shaking her head grabbing her coffee thinking she didn't deserve to be happy. Sipping her coffee as he wrote back telling her that he'd be over soon, having to do a couple more things before he headed out. Setting her phone down sipping her coffee once more wrapping her other arm around herself. Sighing deeply taking another long sip reaching for her laptop.
