Power Rangers: Disney Force 2
Chapter 8
Leo and the mandrill held each other's gaze for several moments.
The mandrill soon leapt from its tree and headed into the jungle before looking back at Leo as of to ask 'what are you waiting for' before heading deeper into the foliage.
Leo stared after it for a few seconds before getting to his feet and giving chase.
While Leo pursued his ape guide the other Rangers contacted Yen Sid.
"Who or what was that thing?" questioned James as they looked to the sky waiting for their mentors answer.
"Someone I fear that only Leo will be able to stop" Yen Sid explained through their telepathic link "and he will need the essence to do so I am afraid".
"Then let's go find him and this essence and put that cat out for the night" declared Connor earning a cheer from the other Chaos Rangers.
"I believe that the responsibility of finding the essence must be Leo's alone" said Yen Sid "you Rangers must prevent Jeuri from destroying the land until he returns".
While his teammates conversed with their mentor Leo followed the Mandrill through the jungle.
The Mandrill soon came to a stop near a lake and gestured to Leo to go forward.
Leo knelt by the lake shire and looked into the water and only saw his reflection and looked back to the mandrill…only to see it had vanished.
Leo looked back to his reflection and saw that it had suddenly changed…into that of a lion.
"Leo" a powerful voice rang out above him, causing the Red Ranger to look up at the night sky and saw within the clouds a shining light appear and from that light a massive Lion appeared above him.
"Your…you're not Simba" said Leo awed as he stared up "are you…?" he left the question hanging.
"Yes Leo, I am his father" the lion answered, "I am Mufasa".
"Yen Sid told me about you" said Leo "he said you were one of the greatest kings in all of Disney".
"And I have been watching you" said Mufasa kindly "you and your friends have carried on the battle against evil admirably Leo and now the personal war of my family has come to you".
"That monster back there" said Leo "is he who I think he is?".
"Yes" said Mufasa gravely "he is or rather was…my brother".
"Scar" whispered Leo "Yen Sid said that he killed you and nearly destroyed your entire Kingdom".
"Simba fought bravely to defeat Scar" Mufasa explained "and now that task has fallen to you".
"How!" asked Leo "if someone like Simba had trouble stopping him how can I?".
"You will not be alone" Mufasa assured him "whenever you doubt yourself remember to look to the stars, the great kings of the past watch down on you from them and they will always be with and so will I".
With that Mufasa disappeared back into the clouds, Leo kept his eyes on the sky before smiling as he felt a surge of something new within him.
That moment Jeuri along with the Generals were attacking a local village, "This will make a fine spot for my new empire" the evil lion laughed.
"We don't think so kitty cat" cried Jessica as she and the rest of the Rangers, minus Leo arrived on the scene.
"Deal with them" Jeuri told the Generals with a dismissive wave.
The Generals and Skeletal troops engage the Rangers while Jeuri watched with an amused expression.
"Do you really want to be left out?" asked a voice and he turned to see Leo in his Ranger form leaning against the wall.
"Ha" laughed Jeuri "haven't you learned from last time that you have no chance against me" before frowning as he fully took in the Red Rangers presence, something felt off.
"Alone maybe not, but I'm not alone" said Leo before raising his hand to the night sky "LIGHT OF REGULUS" he cried (to you non constellation buffs Regulus is the name given to the brightest star in the Leo constellation).
From the stars a burst of pure light descended on Leo and from within it, a lions roar was heard.
When the light faded Leo stood before Jeuri, his friends and the generals now with golden armour with a Lion's a face chest plate over his Ranger Uniform, golden arm bands, gold stripes over his boots, his helmet now had golden streaks resembling a lion's mane and in his hand the Sword of Kings blade glowed like the stars.
"The Courage of Simba and the Glory of Mufasa" Leo roared "behold the REGULUS WARRIOR".
"No, no I AM THE KING" roared Jeuri in fury lunging forward and crossed swords with Leo.
"Time to break out plan B" grunted Facilier raising his staff and summoned an essence…with a stormy grey colour.
The essence flew into the air and became a massive tornado with arms and piercing red eyes.
"Titan #3" cried Jessica "Stratos the Living storm".
"You Guys deal with the goon squad" said Fei as she separated from Gaston and was replaced by James "will handle this" she declared nodding with Connor before summoning their Zord's.
"Dragon Zord Warrior mode/Chaos Megazord" cried Fei and the Chaos Rangers assuming command of their Zord's.
"Let's show this windbag" said Theo as the Megazord's stepped up to battle the Titan who stretched out his arms and shot blasts of wind and lightning at the Megazord's.
While their friends fought with the Titan the remaining Disney Rangers fought with the Generals and soon had the villainous courted on the run.
All the while this happened Leo and Jeuri's focus, and attention were trained solely on each other.
The Swords of Kings and Tyrants clashed repeatedly sending sparks and echoes as they fought.
"I will not lose to you, whether or not if Simba or Mufasa are helping you" roared Jeuri.
"That's where your wrong Scar" said Leo as they broke apart "I don't just have Simba and Mufasa with me, I have ALL the great kings of the past with me, let me show what that's like".
He raised his sword to the air and declared "PRIDE OF KINGS" he cried pointing his sword forward summoning three red, golden and white light constructs in the form of magnificent Lions.
The Lions each struck Jeuri stunning him long enough for Leo to land the final blow.
"NOOO" roared Jeuri as he perished in a burst of blue flames.
"Havok blast" cried the Chaos Rangers as the Crocodile Zord opened its jaw and shot a beam of multi coloured energy at Stratos causing the Titan to implode in his own burst of flames.
The Rangers soon returned to the tower and were in a very celebratory mode.
"Now that's how you start summer" cheered Jack as he and Connor high fived.
"You all did very well Rangers" Yen Sid congratulated his students "especially you Leo, Mufasa is with you now and the kings of the past shall lend you their power to combat the growing darkness".
"You guys should have felt it" Leo breathed out in awe "it was so…I cant even explain".
"Such things often are" Yen Sid concurred "but such things are also often bestowed to those who can best handle the responsibility" he said earning a smile from Leo.
