Chapter 7
Izuku can feel his heartbeat through his chest. He's waiting for Uraraka outside his room with two hot chocolates that he convinced Sato to make for him. He hopes Uraraka likes it. He knows how much she likes sweets and at least hot chocolate will keep them warm. He sees her approaching and his throat goes dry and the pounding in his chest intensifies. All the confidence he felt over the phone is definitely gone and he's so afraid right now. Is he going to blow this?
"H-h-hi Uraraka! Thank f-for meeting m-me" he says between stutters "T-t-this is for you".
He extends one of the hot chocolates out to her. Her cheeks turn a little pinker.
"Hi Deku, thank you so much," she says shyly. She takes a sip of hot chocolate and smiles. "This is delicious!"
"I was able to convince Sato to make some for us! I'm glad you like it" he says proudly. "You ready?"
"Let's go!" she says excitedly.
They walk outside. It's quiet and the air is crisp. The only noise that can be heard is the sound of their footsteps
"You think we're allowed to be out here right now?" Uraraka asks between a sip of hot chocolate.
Izuku laughs, "Probably not. Especially not me after what happened with Kachaan".
"Why did you guys fight like that anyway?", she asks.
"It was stupid. He just wanted to prove he was stronger than me" Izuku says, kicking a rock down the sidewalk.
"Oh. Well at least you guys seem sorta better since it happened"
"I guess so. We seemed to have found some mutual g-ground. How's the hot chocolate?" He asks, trying to change the subject.
"Really good and it's still hot too!" she says smiling. "Where are we going? Is it far?"
"It's not too far but I'll let you know when we're there", Izuku says. "T-thanks for joining me t-tonight"
Uraraka blushes, "Thanks for inviting me. I missed you during and after clean up." She starts getting flustered.
She missed me?!
"W-well you know we needed help and stuff so without you it sucked" she says stuttering.
"I missed you too", Izuku says softly.
Uraraka smiles.
As they walk Uraraka can't help but notice his All Might winter gear and chuckles.
"I see you went all out with the All Might gear tonight. I like it, fanboy" she laughs.
Izuku feels his heart squeeze. He loved when she called him that.
"T-thanks, I-i-i like your gloves. Very useful for your quirk. They're u-u-uh cute, yeah" he says nearly passing out.
It should not be this hard for me to talk to her. Get it together Izuku!
"Thanks Deku I'm glad you noticed, my dad got them for me!," Uraraka says with a warm smile. "I wanted to thank you for the All Might keychain. It's really cute"
"I'm sorry it wasn't something cooler. If I knew I was getting it for you I would've-", he says when Uraraka suddenly covers his lip with her index finger.
"I love it, okay? No need to be sorry at all" she says cheerfully.
Izuku stops in his tracks and feels his face grow red. He smiles as he looks into Uraraka's eyes. She truly was amazing. She smiles back, the warm smile like when they first met.
