Chapter 9

What just happened?

Izuku feels like his body was smashed into a wall. It's as if all the wind was knocked out of him from the explosion and the ringing in his ear is driving him insane. Then he remembers he wasn't alone before that explosion happened.

URARAKA!?

As Izuku tries to force his aching body awake he witnesses the villain blast Uraraka into a random building. Izuku's heart drops at the sight.

"URARAKA NO!", Izuku screams fully awake now.

He feels his anger boiling inside of him and he rises up to face the villain. His eyes glow an angry green as he activates 20% of OFA throughout his body. If looks could kill then the woman would've been dead by now. He clenched his fist as he stared at her with the utmost disgust.

"You'll pay for that!", he screams angrily.

"Izuku Midoriya, you're all awake now huh? Sorry about your friend. She was in our way", she says teasingly.

Izuku's eyes lock onto a series of streetlights as he uses Black Whip to weave between them as he launches himself at the woman.

"Now's my chance!", he yells, charging up a punch shrouded in green energy.

The woman jumps out of the way at the last moment though, narrowly evading what surely would have been a devastating hit.

"You're all fired up aren't you, Izuku? Was that your little girlfriend? Too bad I had to blast her like that she was really adamant on not letting me take you", she snears.

Take me?

"W-well whether she was my girlfriend or not I wouldn't let you put another finger on her!", he shouts.

Green sparks began to emanate from Deku's body as the concrete sidewalk beneath him shattered from the sudden energy surge. He activates One For All within his legs and jumps forty feet into the air. He brings his foot down ready to defeat this villain.

"SAINT LOUIS SMASH!", he yells, bringing his foot down with all his might.

She tries to dodge his attack but stumbles making the kick connect with her shoulder. She howls in pain and leaps out the way.

"You little brat! How dare you hit me? Do you know who I am?", she screams.

Izuku steadies himself ready to attack again. He can't let this woman hurt anyone else.

I need to beat this villian and get to Uraraka! I don't have time for this. I need to know she's okay. She has to be okay.

"You won't catch me so easily boy! I won't let you beat me", she yells holding her shoulder.

She flips and steadies herself on top of a light post. She looks down at him with a sadistic look in her eyes.

"Who are you?", he yells, clearly irritated with the woman.

"I am Marionette. Soon my name will be in lights everywhere. Everyone will remember who I am again! I just need to capture you first", she cackles.

Capture me? What does she want with me? AFO? Impossible he's in jail isn't he? I need to defeat this woman but Uraraka is still in the rubble… This is all my fault I shouldn't have brought her out here so late. How did this villain know where I would be? I need a plan. I feel like I've seen this woman somewhere before? She seems full of herself so maybe if I can get her talking and distract her long enough to get Uraraka out of here? Whatever I do I need to be quick.

Izuku shakes his head out of his thoughts.

No more thinking, I need to act now.

"I've seen you before, haven't I?" Izuku asks, pretending to be curious.

"Oh my gosh you've heard of me?" She squeals, striking a pose on the lamppost. "Yes I am Izumi Tanaka! I was going to be a star! All until Toho Studios black listed me and made me lose all credibility! Now I'm a washed up has been before my career even had a chance to take off! But with this new added quirk I can fight and be fabulous!" She says full of glee and she sets off another blast in Izuku's direction.

She almost reminds me of Toga with how fast her emotions switch up…

Izuku rolls out of the way closer to where Uraraka was launched into the building. All he can think is if she's okay. He had to get to her and fast. but what Marionette said just hit him.

"I think I have heard of you before. Are you the woman who can use mind control on people to get them to do what you want? You were manipulating directors to get lead roles and on front pages of a lot of magazines right? And a new added quirk? How did you get this quirk?" Izuku yells.

I remember my mom talking about a celebrity with a friend on the phone. A woman named, Izumi Tanaka, was shunned from the limelight when she was using her quirk to mind control photographers and directors to get on the front pages of magazines and the leads in movies and tv shows. After she was blacklisted most of her work was taken down and she never saw the spotlight again. But now here she is in front of me and just hurt Uraraka. I need to make sure she can't hurt anyone else.

Izuku sends multiple mini air bursts in her direction and one of them connects, flinging her off the light post. He's about to release black whip to restrain her when he suddenly can't move his body. It's like when Shinso brainwashed him but not exactly the same.

My body feels like it's burning and why can't I move? ? What should I do? I have to break free.

As Izuku tried to think of a way to break free the burning feeling went away but it was as if all self awareness he had about the situation at hand was fading. With Shinso he knew he was being controlled but with marionette it was as if all his cares went away like he was floating. It was as if he was slipping away.

"AFO promised me everything I ever dreamed of if I handed you over. I've wanted this my entire life and I won't let you or anyone get in my way now follow me" Marionette says with a snarl.

Izuku unwillingly starts to follow Marionette as she limps down the street where Uraraka and him just came from. With the last bit of his consciousness he worries about the result of his failure of stopping and capturing Marionette.

No no, I have to break free. What if this lady hurts someone? I have to stop Marionette and get back to Uraraka. I can't leave her like this. She needs me… no I need her. What am I going to do?

His self consciousness continues to fade until his mind isn't his own anymore. Marionette was now in control.

Villain name: Marionette

Name: Izumi Tanaka

Quirk: Puppet

Quirk explained: Her quirk allows her to have complete control over someone and their quirks. basically making them her personal puppet. She can control 1 person at a time for up to 2 minutes.

Looks: Her height is 5'11" . She is slender but has weight in the right places. She has long black hair and wears a red sparkly dress like Jessica Rabbit. She's always dressed for a performance.

Backstory: She wanted to become a performer but she kept activating her quirk to get roles in shows and movies and also manipulate publishers to get her on the front pages of magazines. She got blacklisted when her assistant ratted her out to the tabloids. Since then she went into hiding due to her embarrassment and decided to work for AFO. AFO has given her the task to bring Izuku Midoriya to him in exchange he has given her a new quirk to use against him. The quirk is called absorption where she can take other people's energy and expel it out as power. She can take energy from any living things even plants and animals, however energy from humans gives the most energy. The energy stored lasts around 30 minutes so she doesn't have to constantly steal energy.

Also want to apologize for the delay with this chapter. Been going through an episode of depression and I just didn't want it to reflect in the quality of the story. I hope this chapter makes up for the lack of content and I'll try to have chapter 10 out soon! Thanks everyone for the support! I love you all 3
