A/N: This is my fourth fanfiction story and my first ever Klonoa fic. To be honest, I never knew that this game series existed, until now (LOL). The reason why interested in playing this game in the first place was Guntz, somehow I love this character by his very cool design. So then, I'm starting to play the game from the beginning (Door to Phantomile, Lunatea's Veil, Empire of Dreams, Dream Champ Tournament, then Klonoa Heroes), which I played with emulators on my phone. Turns out, this series has a great story after all, but when it comes to which game has the best story, in my opinion, I'm must say it was Klonoa Heroes.
So, I decided to make my first Klonoa fanfic story!! It takes place after the event of Klonoa Heroes: Legendary Star Medal focused on the friendship between Guntz and Klonoa. Without further ado, I hope you guys enjoy this story and if there is any review or criticism, I would happily accept it, and most importantly, no flames, please. Cheers.

STORY START
Somewhere near Breezegale
In the outskirt of Breezegale, sleeping on the bottom of a big tree, was a teenage wolf with black fur yellow marking the skin, wearing a grey jumpsuit, red long-sleeved jacket, white gloves, black boots with red straps, and pair of brown circular googles. It was no other than Guntz, the legendary bounty hunter with a very short temper, aggressive skill, and somehow arrogant. It's been a long time since the last time he didn't visit his old friend Klonoa after the defeat of Garlen and Nahatomb, he's been busy on the adventure to get his father's revenge and spend the money that he earn from his job as a bounty hunter. It's almost morning, Guntz still sleeping under a tree, usually the wolf always a good sleep where ever he likes. When the sun starts rising from the horizon and the bird starts to chirp, the wolf opens his eyes and wakes up from his sleep.
"Huaaaaahhhmmmm….." Guntz stretched his arms while yawning, When Guntz had already gotten up his feet and was about hopping into Red Clan (His red signature Hover-bike)……..
"Damn it!!" The wolf cursed himself, "I'M SUCH AN IDIOT!!"
Guntz suddenly doesn't feel right, he got this feeling of guilt and regret back in the past, especially what he did to his old friend, Klonoa. Suddenly he got a flashback on his mind, back where he took Klonoa on an amazing adventure to prove that he was worthy of being called a hero, but during the event, Guntz seems to always underestimate Klonoa's ability and passion to be a hero, sometimes he always intimidates the little kid with rude language and scare him by aiming his guns towards him, he also said that Klonoa just a little kid who didn't deserve to be called a hero.
"I shouldn't have done that to him!" Continue Guntz with a regretful tone while closing his eyes and gripping the handlebars of his hoverbike with both of his hands tightly. He remembered the time when he stole Klonoa's radiant flower for some stupid reason, he knew that Klonoa using all of his effort to find and pick up the flower, just to give it to his love interest Lolo. And when Klonoa wants the flower back, instead give it to him, the wolf challenges him to a fight and if the kid loses, he must pay 100.000 Dorees to him.
"You're stupid Guntz!! How could you be so STUPID!!!" Guntz cursed himself again, this time he hits his head to the handlebars hard. At this time, he remembers the time when he and Klonoa at the moon ruin to search for some kind of treasure, where he set up Klonoa to be the bait that almost took his life then left him alone in there.
Maybe Klonoa had already forgiven him by saving his life after he got poisoned by Janga, but the wolf didn't say sorry to him just once, for everything that he had done to the little kid. This makes Guntz very uncomfortable and regrets everything he did in the past.
This is it, this is my chance to fix it all, it's now or never!... Thought Guntz, without further ado, the Wolf immediately start the engine of his red clan, press the gas then headed towards breezegale.
Breezegale
It was a bright morning in breezegale, the residents were already decoring the houses and the surrounding with Pinata and streamers. Today it's the day of the Summer Festival, an annual event from morning until the night that residents of Breezegale already held it many years ago.
"Wahooo!! This is the day Chipple!! This the day!!" Said someone who just exit his house full of joy. It was no other than Klonoa himself, a cat-rabbit-like figure (Cabbit) who wears a blue shirt, blue cap, orange glove, red sneakers and has a long ear. After saving the world from Garlen and Nahatomb's terror, this is the event that he had waiting for, it's like a very needed stress relief.
"Woah, Woah, easy there buddy, you're too much excited, aren't you? Hahaha." It was his best friend Chipple who calmed him down, a kangaroo who dressed like a boxer along with red boxing gloves. "Me too buddy." Chipple continues "It is the event that I've always waited for in my life!! I even didn't get enough sleep last night!!"
"Uhhhh……..okay," Klonoa responds with an awkward tone, then they both continue to walk away from the house and head where the festival will be held. Along the way they can see the other house and their surrounding already decored with amazing and cute piñata, they also know that at the festival there will be an immersive fireworks attraction, it was part of the festival that everyone has been waiting for. It was only about 5 minutes since Klonoa and Chipple left the house until mysterious noise coming from their behind made them stop their trail, from the sound of it, it looks like a………..motorcycle?
"Wait…." Klonoa said while stopping his tracks along with Chipple, "That sound………I recognize it, no….it could be?" When they turn around, they can see a familiar red vehicle heading towards them (except for Chipple who never saw/dealt with the vehicle)
"GUNTZ?!" Klonoa screams at the top of his lung due to his shock and disbelief.
"NO WAY!!" Added Chipple.
"KLONOA!!!" Yelled Guntz while driving his Red Clan towards them at high speed. Suddenly the Red Clan gets uncontrolled due to its speed, causing the red hover-bike to start heading towards Chipple.
"Hey! Hey! Hey! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Chipple was shocked and was about to run for his life.
"GUNTZ STOP!!!" Suddenly Klonoa stands in front of Chipple to protect him while holding his right hand towards the incoming hover-bike.
"Oh shoot!!!" Guntz immediately hit the brakes so hard but finally manage to stop just inches from Klonoa's shirt.
"Pheeeww….I thought we gone for sure" Said Klonoa while gasping for his shock along with Chipple. "DAMN IT GUNTZ!!" He continues by cursing the wolf, "You could kill us both you know?!" Chipple was a little bit shocked due to his friend's language.
"Sorry…" Guntz regrets his act earlier, then he continued while dismounting from the Red Clan "But Klonoa, I need to talk to you immediately in private."
"Hey, after you disappeared for a long time, you suddenly came here, nearly kill us both, and now you wanna talk with my best friend in private?! What is wrong with you?!" Chipple was still pissed with the wolf after he almost got them in an accident.
"This is none of your business Chips, it had nothing to do with you" Guntz replied
"What did you just call me?!" Chipple got his attention then immediately prepared both of his boxing glove fists.
"I said, this…is…none.. of…your…business!!" It's now Guntz who aiming his red gun towards the angry kangaroo.
"Hey hey, calm down!! Both of you!!" Klonoa stood between them after they almost got into a fight, "But Guntz was right."
"Huh?!" Chipple shocked
"Guntz might have something important to tell me that so urgent, am I right?" Klonoa said while turning his head towards the wolf.
Guntz just nodded.
"Right, so Chipple, rather than you create a fight around here, why don't you just go to the festival already? I think it's already started, tell Lolo, Popka, and Pango that I'll catch up, and promise, it won't take long."
At first, the Kangaroo didn't say anything while still looking at Guntz with an angered face, but he immediately calm down.
"Alright, fine, fine, fine!! But I'm not done with you, Wolfie!! When the festival is over, I'll be back for ya!" Then Chipple leaves two of them and heads towards the festival.
"Grrrr!!!" Guntz gritted his teeth in anger and was about to chase the boxing kangaroo but was held by Klonoa.
"Leave him." Klonoa reprimands him. "So what is it Guntz? What is the 'important talk' that you wanna talk about? It's been a while since I saw you you know" Continue Klonoa.
Guntz was not sure how to say it, but he really wanna apologize for everything he had done with Klonoa in the past.
"I…... I…… I…I'm not sure how to say thi……this" The wolf seems kinda lost in words
"Guntz….was wrong? Hey Guntz?" Klonoa tries to speak with him so he can understand what his problem is. "Hey, if there's something that I should know, just tell me, after all, you're my friend"
The wolf was silent for a minute after hearing what Klonoa said, then he finally speak.
"Kl….Klo…..Klonoa" Guntz said then suddenly fell with both of his knees "I'm sorry"
"Sorry? Sorry for what? You haven't done anything wrong!" Klonoa was confused by Guntz's word
"I'm sorry for what I did to you……in the past!!" From the tone, it looks like the wolf is just about to cry.
"Hey hey hey Guntz what are talking abo…" Klonoa was about to ask him again when suddenly and surprisingly, Guntz hugged Klonoa so tight and start to cry. It was the first time Klonoa (and us) saw the arrogant and short temper wolf hug him and cry.
"I'm truly sorry Klonoa!!" Said Guntz still hugging Klonoa while crying then starting to sob."For everything I 've done to you!! I'm …sorry for underestimating you….. as a hero! I'm sorry for tricking you…… as bait back in Moon ruins, it should be me, not you!! I'm sorry…….. for ditching you after that cause of my stupid ego! I'm sorry….to steal your flower and threaten you for giving me 100.000 Dorees! If you don't want to forgive me….it's okay…..I don't deserve forgiveness.
Klonoa was shocked that he never saw Guntz crying and sobbing like that, he also shocked that he has confessed all of his faults, something that the wolf usually does. Hearing and seeing all of that, Klonoa immediately returns the hug and starts to pat Guntz's head gently.
"Oh Guntz, I was never angry with you, although it makes me pissed sometimes." Klonoa said "I know that all you did to me back in the past was wrong, but when I saw you back in my 'dream' when I was being poisoned. You convinced me to become stronger and stronger, the stronger I am, that makes me want to feel that I wanna try it again and again, that makes us brave, that makes us……a hero."
Guntz were listen to everything that he said while still crying and sobbing then hugged Klonoa more tightly.
"You do? Do you forgive me? After everything I've done to you?" Guntz immediately stared at Klonoa's eyes, from the Cabbit's point of view, he can see that the wolf's eyes were floating with tears, his blue eyes become clear as the crystals.
"Of course, I could just beat and hate you after you treating me like that" Replied Klonoa while still hugging the sad wolf. "But after all of the adventures we've been through, I could see that there's a good In your heart, remember the medal that we have turns into gold? That means you will do everything for protecting someone from danger, fight for justice, and do everything you think it was right. And that's…….why I give you…….a second chance."
"Thank you!! Thank you, Klonoa!! I love you." Guntz continues hugging Klonoa already stopped crying.
"I love you too……Guntz."
After such a long time, they finally broke their hug.
"So……what are we gonna do next?" Asked Guntz
"Oh yeah, the Summer Festival it's already…. Oh no!! I'm late!!" Klonoa was in panicked
"Hey relax pal" Guntz reassured him with a smirk, "You got me…. Right? I can take you to the festival by giving you a lift."
"Realy?! Yeah!! Wahooo!!" Klonoa was so excited.
"Hope in" Guntz gives him a signal.
"Okay!"
After Klonoa hope into the Red Clan, Guntz immediately start the engine and give Klonoa a signal behind him
"You ready?"
"Yeah!! Wahoo!!"
"Trust me, You're not ready"
"What? What are talking abo………" Guntz hit the gas then the Red Clan was zoomed in at the speed of light.
"Woooaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!" Klonoa was very shocked and afraid at this speed, he is holding on to Guntz's shoulder for dear life.
"How's going back there little buddy?" Guntz asked Klonoa behind him with his signature smirk.
"GUUUNNNTTTTZZZ YOU PR$@%!!!"
