Chapter 3: Gifts

After the whole game night incident, Dib was left in bandages when he came to school. It wasn't too bad, it stung a bit but he was used to it from his battles when he was twelve. Everything was normal in his eyes.

He didn't realize that Zim kept looking over at the teen, mostly at the bandages on the teen throughout the school day.

"Gah! Why is Zim feeling like this, I've hurt the Dib-worm before and I didn't feel this... This feeling in my Squeedlyspooch." Zim said as he paced back and forth in his lair.

"Mastah's in loooooooOOoVe!" Gir exclaimed, squealing.

"LIES! Irkens don't feel that disgusting emotion." Zim shivered. "Computer! Tell me why I'm feeling like this!" He shouted to his house.

A sigh was heard from above. "You are feeling guilt." The computer replied.

"Gill-t? what is this gill-t?" Zim ordered.

"Guilt means you feel bad about what you've done. It's also known as, remorse." The computer explains as Zim hummed.

"What can I do to get rid of this feeling?" Zim asked.

"You can apologize to your fri-"

"HE'S NOT MY FRIEND!" Zim screeched.

The computer sighed. "You can apologize and hope your not-friend accepts your apology."

"As if the Great Zim will apologize to the Dib-stink!" Zim declared. "The Dib-beast should be the one apologizing to Zim for making him feel like this!" Zim shouted.

"You don't have to verbally apologize." The computer told him.

"Eh?" Zim questioned.

"Humans usually give people gifts to make them cheer up, so-" The computer started before Zim interrupted.

"Silence! I'm getting an idea! I will give the Dib a gift so he will stop making Zim this gill-t" Zim declared as the computer groaned.

"Great idea, sir." The computer said with a hint of sarcasm that went over Zim's head.

"I know it is!" Zim boasted with pride. "Now to figure out what type of gift to give the Dib-smelly." Zim hummed.

The next day at school Dib was at lunch, hoping to actually eat it without someone getting rid of his food but today wasn't that day as a box suddenly pushed his tray out of the way making the teen blink.

Before he could say something he heard Zim's voice. "Behold! Prepare your puny mind for Zim's gift to you, Dib-thing!" Zim declared as Dib looked at the box with a bow tied around it as well as some stickers of random things and foods.

"Why would-" Dib didn't get to finish his sentence before Zim interrupted him.

"Why? Don't question Zim! Just open it and praise Zim for his choice of gift for you!" Zim told the teen.

Dib rolled his eyes as he undid the bow and lifted the lid off of the box. He blinked as he looked at the contents within the box before taking out a weird-looking watch. "Uh, cool. A watch." Dib said as he put it on his wrist.

"It's not just a watch! It's a space multitool, you have your basic tools as well as a laser and an alien translator and much more for your pathetic mind to figure out." Zim told him looking proud of himself while he waited for praise.

Dib looked at the watch in awe after he heard Zim's description of it. "That's amazing Zim! I love it." Dib said already trying out buttons and getting the multitool to work.

"Yes, yes, Zim is great." The alien replied as his ego was boosted.

For the remainder of the day, Dib figured out his multitool watch with much interest and enthusiasm while Zim was glad to be rid of the guilt he had for scratching up Dib.
