:Chapter Start:

Castle of Lions-Main Control Room-As the Robeasts crashed on Arus.

Coran frowns as he heard the Large Robeast shouting, "What is that creature shouting about? What is this great journey?"

Doctor Halsey says, "That creature appears to be a mutated Brute from the Covenant," she messages Cortana quickly before she comments, "What knowledge I know of Voltron, than creating a creature, machine or combination of the two would theoretically create an entity with devastating power without destroying the planet they were invading keeping the resources to reuse." Halsey then messaged Cortana with some orders.

Mendez finished listening to his Radio and says, "The Spartans caught the two Galra soldiers, along with all of their equipment."

"Good, have the Galra sealed in the Crew stasis pods and their equipment sent to my lab," Halsey states without looking up from her Tablet.

Coran watched the battle and comments, "Impressive," causing Mendez to watch the screen.

Beginning of the battle

The Cheif dodged the Brute's hammer that he used as a jump stand for the Black Lion to jump onto the Brute's back before activating the wing thrusters and pushed it down. Yellow dug underground while Red and Green took to the air, while Blue roared lasers at the Gladiator. The Brute reached for Black only for its hand removing several fingers causing the Brute to scream in rage and swung its hammer with a spin over its back. Black jumped over before a blade appeared in its mouth and once Black landed on its feet, Black charged forward and cuts both ankles. The Brute fell to its knees.

The Gladiator was swinging its weapon towards Red and Green when Yellow dug under it right foot and knocked it over with Blue ramming it with both front legs knocking the Gladiator down. Blue dodged the purple orb as the Gladiator stumbled with its weapon. Gladiator went to stand while throwing its orb only for Black to blast the monster in the face, knocking it back down.

The Brute Roars and charges them with a stumble and its hammer raised before Red and Green sped to its legs and caused it to trip and the hammer to hit the side of the Gladiator's face. All the Lions flew into the sky and the Chief says one word since the battle started, "Combine."

With that the word, the lions glowed, Black purple, Red red, Blue blue, Yellow yellow and Green green. They flew in formation, with Yellow and Blue folding ninety degrees while all the lions had their legs fold into their bodies. The Black Lion's limbs extended and half folded into its own legs before the Blue and Yellow had Black's rear legs inserted into Yellow and Blue while Red attaches to the Black Lion's right side while Green attached to the left side. Black Lions head faced forward as its ears folded out into horns as Black Lion's jaw opened and a blue and red masked face was revealed with yellow eyes. Voltron has been formed.

Voltron sped forward and started punching the Brute repeatedly before ducking as the Purple Orb crashed into the Brute's face. Voltron rolled to the side before Green had the Black Lion's wings fuse at Green's face creating a shield as the Orb came for a second strike. Six thinking of how they could beat these two with a shield and some lasers when a panel raised to his right that made him think of his Bayard, has it in his hand before inserting the weapon into the port where Voltron had its hands slam together and drew a sword made from energy. Everyone silently smirks as Cortana says, "Oh now that is just overkill. Perhaps later Chief we can have some fun."

Cortana's words were heard as the Spartans simply continued to smirk before Voltron sped forward and with a single slash removed the Gladiator's weapon arm along with destroying the Brute's Hammer. Voltron then turned around and removed the Brute's head and with the third slash defeated the Gladiator, by impaling its chest and backpack then throwing the body into Orbit before it exploded.

Voltron was victorious.

The Castle of Lions-Control room-Moments after the battle

Allura ran into the control room where she shouted, "How are the Paladins!?"

"They won," Coran says in shock before saying, "Without saying a word between each other."

Allura had the very obvious question of "HOW!?"

Halsey sighs and says, "They may be flying in lions, but they were trained to fight as wolves," Halsey types on her tablet as Voltron deforms on screen and returns to the castle. Halsey says, "When John returns, please send him to my lab," with that Halsey left the room as Mendez returned to the room.

Mendez frowns before noticing the battle was concluded, so he asks Coran, "Did you record the battle?" Coran nods before Mendez says, "Well the prisoners are sealed in those crew pods on the lower decks."

Allura frowns and comments, "Was I used as bait?"

"Yes, Princess," Chief states as he was raised into the bridge from his station and steps off and says, "Which is why all of us Spartans agreed that you needed a guard," which is the point that Lucy and Tom suddenly appeared standing next to Allura. Chief then says, "Princess, understand that we do things our way. That includes how we operate Voltron," with that Chief left the control room intending to speak with Halsey as Six had collected blood samples of the Brute and Gladiator for her to study.

Allura frowns, deep in thought before she spoke to Coran, "Please prepare the castle, after I speak with my father I will be returning to the village and inviting them to a party," Allura left as Coran silently nods and starts making the preparations. Allura walked down several decks and frowns as she entered her father's chamber and once he activated she asks, "Father, I am concerned with the newest Paladins. They are soldiers and human."

The memories of King Alfor, Allura's father spoke, "They are the second group to have the title of Paladin, if they were exactly the same as I or the other Paladins is not a good thing."

Allura frowns before saying, "They are soldiers."

"Then lead them," Alfor states while not being helpful for Allura's questions before she continued asking questions as Ash was outside the room who had his arms crossed listening to Allura's questions and statements.

Zarkon's Throne Room-As the Robeasts are defeated.

Zarkon was silent as the two beasts were destroyed, Haggard shouts, "NO! I will send more Beasts to capture Voltron."

Zarkon was silent as he thought, "Contact Semdak," the communication system activated and they saw a human female notice them and silently turn the communicator off. Zarkon frowns before saying, "Semdak Failed. Have the nearest fleet head for Arus." Haggard nods silently and leaves the room as Zarkon remains motionless in position.

Ackerson's Flagship-In flight towards the edge of Galra space.

Ackerson stood facing a monitor, with multiple Spartans standing behind him ready to hear Ackerson's orders. Ackerson spoke, "You will be attacking a new target. Your mission is to retrieve Navigation data from warship docked and loading cargo. Team A will retrieve the data, Team B will attach a nuclear device to the ships engine while Team C will be targeting the generators in the Slave Mining facility."

"Ah sir," a Spartan in Black and Yellow armour spoke up, "Did you say Slaves, Sir?"

"You will ask for Permission before you speak Agent Washington. These Aliens use other Aliens to mine their resources, all of them are guilty of being enemies of Humanity. So you will follow orders and execute any Aliens you come across. Is that CLEAR!" Ackerson states as he gets into Agent Washington's helmet covered face.

"Y-yes sir," Agent Washington accepts.

Ackerson then spoke up, "Okay then, Team A, Agents Maine, Wyoming and Florida. Team B, North and South Dakota and CT, Team C, Washington, York and Carolina," everyone silently nod at that before being dismissed.

Agent Washington starts to walk away when suddenly a technician spoke up and says, "Agent Washington, you are being selected for a weapon upgrade for the mission." Washington nods not noticing a Spartan with aqua blue armour, another with light brown armour, Dark Purple with green markings and finally a full white armour were also speaking with other technicians and being led to different sections.

Ackerson smirks and says, "Has everything been prepared?"

"Yes the Fragments have been created and are ready for implantation," Ackerson's second in command states before he speaks in worry, "Sir, are we sure that this is the best course of action. We have only tested one of these 'Spartans' with the AI fragments, and that was a failure as we used the remains of Agent Oregon."

Ackerson glares at his second in command and says, "Agent Oregon was the biggest failure of my Agents. You have one week before the beginning of the Operation Victory, ensure that they succeed with implantation," Ackerson walks away with a crazy gleam as the second in command walked over to the screens in time to see eight of Nine Agents, receiving an implant into the back of their skulls, with only Agent Washington's EKG indicating an abnormality of in the memory sections of his brain before it calmed down and returned to normal. The second in command took note and left it at that. Ackerson would never read these documents which would result in future failure.

Castle of Lions-That Night-Halsey's Lab

Doctor Halsey was reviewing the information she collected mainly the large Battle Cruiser sized Power Crystal, and the different equipment and weapons. Chief, Olivia, Mark and Jorge entered Halsey's Lab, with the intention of planning their next mission. Halsey speaks up, "The Balmera Crystal here has been mutated, in a way similar to the Brute and the Gladiator you fought. Fortunately the magnifying scopes the Alteans have developed can look at the actual atoms and electrical energy where I discovered some parasites in the energy. Whatever they have done to this crystal they have done it to the creatures. We need to send a team to the Balmera and check the conditions of the planet, the parasites could create more of its kind."

The Master Chief was silent for a moment before turning to Jorge, "Jorge, take Tom, Lucy, Ash, Olivia and Mark with you to the Balmera. Use the Green Lion."

Allura steps in with Ash following her, "We have guests arriving soon, I want you all to interact with them."

Cortana answers, "Well princess The Chief was just organising to have a team investigate the local Balmera there is a good chance that it is in danger." Allura frowns at that before Cortana continues, "Trust us, Spartans are a scapple compared to the hammer that normal soldiers are."

Allura frowns before saying, "Well your mission can wait till tomorrow, tonight you are diplomats," with that Allura left quickly.

Doctor Halsey spoke, "I have need of Ash, Olivia and Mark tonight for the revival of those in the pods."

Chief simply says, "Very well," with that both he and Jorge left.

Once the two senior Spartans had left, Halsey began speaking, "Okay, who are in the pods?" pointing to the eight pods they brought with them from Onyx.

"The only Spartans we know of is Kitana Squad from the Alpha Unit of Spartan IIIs. Spartan IIIs though are only in squads of five. We don't know about the other three pods," Ash states simply.

"No instructors going missing or research team members?" Halsey questioned.

"No, Ma'am. We were never informed on information about that," Olivia states simply.

Halsey nods before saying, "Well then, I have been reviewing the pods opening procedure and when that occurs I want you three helping me along with Chief Mendez. This will be done after your mission to the Balmera," They each accepted a tablet that illustrates the procedure to open the pods. Halsey then states, "That being said you all enjoy the party." The three Spartan-IIIs were confused but accepted it none the less as they silently walked out the lab.

At the Party-couple hours later

Fred was to the side holding a drink, Kelly and Linda managed to escape the party with the excuse of checking a couple of the Galra crash sites to get more salvage for the coming battles. Fred could only sigh as Jorge walked over and says, "Interesting party," pointing to the locals interpretation of Voltron's first official battle, where apparently they lost only for the narrator corrected them and the five locals climbed back onto themselves creating the character of Voltron while the to others fell down 'dead' and everyone cheered.

Fred was calm as they watched before saying, "As long as they don't hand out medals," Jorge agreed most Spartans really disliked being rewarded for doing their job. Fred then comments, "Though, you and Six will probably be getting the Prisoner of War medal each," Jorge rolled his eyes before Fred continued, "Hopefully we won't have to deal with a party after every victory."

Jorge then states, "Yeah, after this I will be heading ahead to the Balmora for some recon in Green Lion."

Fred nods before commenting, "And the Castle won't be launching until dawn two days from now."

Jorge says, "Well then, we should be back quickly then," Jorge and Fred Finished their drinks silently.

They look to the side where they noticed Ash, Olivia and Mark who had fallen asleep to the side away from the partying locals, though some of the younger locals were asleep with them. The Master Chief walked out the hall and went outside to look at the stars with Cortana just talking privately. Tom and Lucy though vanished shortly after the party started and if the Chief had looked up he would have seen the two having a quiet moment to enjoy the quiet night together. Chief Mendez was patrolling the party making sure that everything was secure while Coran and Allura were interacting with the locals though Coran was also working on ensuring that the castle was ready to fly.

Blue Lions-The next day-Morning Local Time

"Spartan Fred-105 Personal Log #2, this morning Spartans Jorge, Tom, Lucy, Ash, Olivia and Mark have deployed in the Green Lion to the local Balmera. Currently Kelly and Linda are taking a break after spending the night locating materials for us to use in the coming fight, which is why I am currently flying the Blue Lion to retrieve the downed fighters and to be used in the coming assault. The Chief and Six is currently at different points locating the materials. Princess Allura was upset with our choice of rolls for the day, until Cortana explained the concept of the Trojan horse as Halsey had been programming the different drones to invade the Balmera's Galra enslavement. Though after the concept was explained to her, she wanted to know the story of the Trojan war, how it all started with a prince falling for a queen, whose beauty had an entire country lay siege to a walled city across a sea," Fred sighs as he controlled Blue Lion to move another drone fighter onto a flat chunk of the Galra Warship to carry the drones to outside the castle. "Pause log." With that Blue carried twenty drones to the castle in time to see Red fly in with a single drone before flying out again, his pile growing one by one. Black then arrived with a hull fragment holding five Drones that were actually intact and hardly damaged. Fred could only sigh as Halsey, Coran and Mendez came out and started examining the different ships and all those too damaged to use had a large cross painted on them and the Locals came and help dismantle them of the parts to use themselves.

Fred could only sigh at the three different methods, all at once, one at a time and only the working one, and all of the Drone Fighters that the Black Lion returned with were all intact enough to be used, while all of Red's were ditched and half of Blue's were useless for their purposes. In the end they had ten useable and enough drones rebuilt and programmed for use for the coming battle.

Blue flew into its hanger in time to see Kelly and Linda practicing with some Galra weapons they collected, getting an idea of how they are used. Fred stepped out if Blue and over to his fellow Spartans and silently joins the two. Eventually Kelly spoke up, "Best shot for the next ten shots each gets the loser to do whatever they want for a day." With that Linda stepped back as Kelly and Fred started shooting the Galra drones they had which ended with Linda throwing a drone head and only Fred hitting the target out of Kelly's shot. Kelly simply says, "Well Fred you won, I will leave you to decide the favour." Fred was silent as Kelly and Linda walked out the hanger leaving Fred somewhat confused, as he went over to his gear to the side and proceeded to ensure that everything was in order.

Fred after a couple minutes continues his Log, "I have been noticing strange occurrences amongst the Spartans. Tom and Lucy have been strangely close for Spartans, sneaking off alone and are jumpy when they are suddenly found together. Cortana has been making more jokes and comments to the Chief like those I have heard some of the Marines make to my fellow Spartans in the past. That is what I have noticed, not what I know. End Personal Log Entry two."
