Chapter 12: Power Outage

"Gah! Computer, turn on!" Zim ordered as he stood in his dark base. He never would have expected an Urth storm could short-circuit IRKEN technology. Apparently, this was a 'her-eh-cane' to the aliens' knowledge. He grumbled as he scampered up his base to get to the first floor of his base using his pak legs.

"Stupid, worthless, technology," Zim grumbled as he got to the ground floor seeing Gir frantically pressing buttons on the remote. "Gir, stop that!"

"But the tv's not workin!" Gir exclaimed, crying and screaming from the loss of his precious television.

Zim grit his teeth as he put his hands on his head to attempt to deafen Gir's screams. "Enough! I'll fix it!" Zim exclaimed to stop the robot's crying. Zim went to the window and shivered as he saw nothing but rain pouring down making everything else hard to see.

He wasn't sure if his paste worked with this much water and he really didn't want to test it, but if he wanted Gir to shut up he would have to try to fix the problem from the outside.

The green male grumbled as he covered himself with his paste before hesitantly going outside. The paste was working, which was good, but with how much water was pouring the paste would wash off. "I have to do this quick," Zim told himself as he quickly went to the top of his house.

He barely touched the antenna before lightning shot down and zapped him and fell off the roof.

"BLAST IT ALL!" Zim exclaimed coughing up some smoke before getting up and hurrying back inside. "Gir! get in your disguise, we're going to Dib-worm's until this storm has passed!" He ordered as he went and got ready himself, putting extra layers of paste so it won't hurt.

Dib let out a yawn as he was bundled up in his blankets as the pouring rain kept going down as he held a flashlight to a book he was reading. He was in the living room with Gaz as she was playing her game while it still had power.

The sudden slam of the door made him bolt up to see what happened as he saw Zim and Gir. "Zim!? What are you doing here?" He asked before he got pelted with Zim's rain jacket.

"Zim does not need a reason for anything, Dib-worm!" He exclaimed pointing at him.

"The tv's stops workin!" Gir cried to Dib as he saw that this tv didn't have power either.

"You got a power outage too? Come on, here you can watch stuff on this while it has power." Dib said handing Gir a tablet and putting on some shows that was downloaded on their.

"LIES! We did not have a 'power out-age' Irken technology is far more superior than this her-eh-cane." Zim denied.

"Will you two shut up, I'm almost done with this level and I don't want my game to die before it happens." Gaz growled as she played on her game.

Dib sighed. "You want Hot chocolate?" He asked Zim making him perk up before narrowing his eyes.

"You said you didn't have power, Dib-stink, how would you make it?" He asked as Dib rolled his eyes.

"Just come on." Dib told him as he headed to the kitchen with Zim following after him and watching him use a match to lit the stove and started boiling water.

"Just like the s'mores." Zim stated.

"Kinda." Dib chuckled as he made for mugs of hot chocolate and grabbing whipped cream and putting it on the hot chocolate and some crushed candy canes. "Here." He told Zim as Zim grabbed it and started drinking it.

Dib smiled watching Zim enjoy the hot beverage as he got the other hot chocolates and headed back to the living room setting Gaz's on the table for her for when she's done with her level and one for Gir before taking a seat and drinking his own hot chocolate with a sigh.

"When do these power out-ages end?" Zim asked sitting on the couch and stealing the blanket from Dib.

"Most likely when the hurricane is over." Dib told him making Zim groan. "Come on it's not that bad."

"Easy for you to say, you cannot be harmed by this Urth Rain!" Zim exclaimed.

"Well we can play board games to pass the time." Dib said getting up and going through the drawers until he took some boardgames out with a grin.

Hours later they were on their third game when the lights went on. "Finally!" Gir exclaimed before shooting out of the house, breaking a window making Dib sigh.

"Well the powers back on." Dib said standing up but was pulled back by one of Zim's pack legs.

"You are not leaving until I win, Dib-worm!" Zim told him making Dib sigh.

"Fine." Dib said sitting back down as Zim glared at him and retracted his pak leg and rolled the dice again.
