"Why are you frightened and curious, Rose?" He asks.
"I was hoping you would let me read your wife's books." I informed him
"I was waiting for you to ask to see them." He says. He gets up and walks to his bookshelf.
"How did you know I would ask?" I ask.
"You always asked about her. You always wanted to know our love story. I knew it was a matter of time till you asked for them." He walks over to me with a few books in his hands. "Please me careful with them. These are the Journals of hers that I have. You can read her grimoire after if you still want to."
I take them gently in my arms. "Thanks," I tell him.
I leave and go to mine and Emmett's room. I know Edward is bringing his human. I don't want to be around for her to bother me. She is a spineless idiot. I absolutely hate her. I see Emmett on his computer gaming.
"Hey, beautiful. What do you have there?" He asks suddenly turning around.
"These are Jasper's wife's Journals." I tell him while putting them on our bed.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"I thought you didn't want to read them."
"Peter said it would be good if I read them. Him and Charlotte have both read them. They told me that Jasper doesn't mind people reading them, because he feels that more people are meeting her."
"That's really sweet of him. Wanna read them to me."
"Sure" I tell him. We both sit down on the bed against the headboard. I cuddle up into his side and open the first one gently. I think he set them in order for me.

Dear Mom,
Dad moved us to Texas. I am not sure if I like it. I met the man and Woman of the house. The Whitlock's they seem to be very nice. I offered to make some pies and bread for them. My dad will be working on their farm to help Mr. Whitlock out. we are to live on their property in return. My father injured his leg when he was younger and walks with a cane now. Mr. Whitlock says that my father can keep the slaves in line. My father is a gentle man. I know he will want to make sure the slaves are well looked after.
My dog, Demetrius, came with us. He is a tall, all black dog. He intimidated Mr. Whitlock. My father and I both enjoyed that. Demetrius has looked after me since my brothers left.
My father says that writing in this book to you will help with the move. I don't completely believe that. But we shall see with time. My Damon my oldest brother gave me Demetrius when he first went to the war 2 years ago. He gave Demetrius to me as a little puppy. He told me that every time I look into Demetrius's eyes it will be looking into his too. I miss you all a lot. I didn't want to say goodbye to you.
I stop reading. Emmett pulls me tight as I dry sob. I feel like she is right in front of me writing to me.
"Do you think it ever gets better for her?" I ask Emmett.
"Don't you think Jasper made it better for her?" he asks me back.
"He has to, doesn't he?" I keep reading
Today, all we did was settle in. We got unpacks and I made some loaves of bread. I did this while my father went to check on the slaves. He went with Mr. Whitlock to inform them who will be in charge. I know my father will be gentle on them. He asked if I wanted a woman to help me in the kitchen. I told him I didn't need one, but I think I will take one of the older ladies. I want her to be out of the heat and protected. Working with me in the house she won't get as much abuse. I know being an old slave especially being a woman can be a death sentence. My father said he will have the older gentlemen building my apothecary. I will need that being built. He also has them setting up my personal garden and says he will have the older slaves looking after it. It will be a lot easier on them.
"Her father and her are so caring Emmett. They think about things that we would have never thought about." I tell Emmett. "I had maids and butlers. But I never cared about what happened with them. She seems to care about everyone."
Emmett nods agreeing with me. "She cared about every soul, that's what she would say." I heard from the door. Emmett and I look up and see Jasper standing in the door frame.
"Come on in, bro." Emmett says. Jasper comes in and closes the door behind him.
"Sorry, I heard you reading her journals out loud. I had to come listen. I did knock, but I guess you were too involved in her Journal." He says standing tall like he always does. He always seems so sure of himself. "Mind if I come join?"
"Of course, Jasper. You are always welcome here." I tell Jasper. He quickly sits on the bed, like an eager little kid. He seems so excited to hear her stories.
"As you can tell she runs an Apothecary. When she moved, she had to leave that behind. They did bring all the ingredients they could, but they couldn't bring the whole shop." Jasper explained. "She loved the shop. She used to speak about it with such fondness. She did start supplying elixirs for the pharmacy. She would tell me all the time that it just wasn't the same."
"Why did she decide to only do that then. Why didn't she open a new Apothecary?" I ask him.
"You will see, the further you read." Jasper tells us giving us a knowing smile. "She explains things better then I ever could. She was always like that."
