I continue to read with Jasper there listening intently.
I just don't know if this will work out. I don't know where to go from here. It all used to seem so clear. Things now seem so lost. I don't know if I can do this on my own. Keep showing me that you are near. I know I can do it if you are here for me. Because I trust in you. You have never failed before. You have never led me astray. If there a road I should walk help me find it. Show me where it is. If I need to be still give me peace for the moment. If I am doing right by you let me feel the wind in my hair. Let my garden grow strong.
Father and I love you,
Grace
Wow, she is incredible. We continue to read well into the night. Before we know it it's time to go to school. We were all graduated so we didn't have to go, but we did think that we should go hunt. While the others went to school Jasper, Emmett and I went to go hunt. Jasper likes to hunt most with Emmett and I, because we don't treat him like he is going to slip at any moment. I tell them not to bury their kills after they are done. I have something I want to try.
I quicky take down some deer and a cougar. I go over to Emmett and see him fighting with a bear. Oh god we will have to shower after. I notice Jasper beside me. "What did you eat?" I ask him.
"I had a few deer and a bear." Jasper says chuckling "I definitely keep neater than him." He points to Emmett. Emmett looks over us and waves. The bear rawrs and takes a swipe at him. Emmett not one to be outdone rawrs back. Jasper and I both burst out laughing. He finally takes down the bear.
"Did you bury your Kill yet?" I ask Jasper.
"No, you told us not to. I piled them over there." He points behind him close to a tree. I see a pile of bodies. I quickly add mine to it. Emmett finishes eating and adds to it.
"What did you want to do with them?" Emmett asks.
"I was thinking, we waste a lot by just burying the bodies. I think we should put them near the border. The wolves eat a lot and the children don't deserve to starve." I explain.
I may act like I don't like the wolves, but I love all children. I feel bad for them. They had to grow up way too fast. They need to have parents who understand the supernatural world. I hope they do have that. I do know that the counsel treats them like machines. I hope not all their parents are on the counsel. We put all the bodies near the border. I see a black wolf come out.
"I thought you guys might get more use out of these then we do. You can use it for meat and possibly other stuff." I tell the wolf. He nods to me. We all get out of there so he can move them if he wants. We don't stick around. I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable. We head back to the house.
"Did you want to keep reading?" I ask the boys.
"Sure," They both agree.
We all head back to mine and Emmett's bedroom and get comfortable on the bed again.
Dear Mom,
We have been here for a month now. My garden is ready and planted. Lily helps me in the kitchen with my pie and bread making. She is so sweet. I know you would love her. I met the Whitlock's daughter, Lucy. She is so sweet. They tell me they have a son, but I haven't met him yet.
The slaves seemed to have a lot of cuts and bruises on them. A few of them were sick and had infections. They overall all seemed to be in bad condition. I fixed them right up. Mr. Whitlock is impressed about the productivity. He keeps saying that my father is a miracle worker. I just think Mr. Whitlock is a little heartless. My father does nothing but care. The slaves know they can come to my father with anything.
I didn't tell you but two days ago, there was a male slave who came to my father. He told him that his wife and son were sick. My father told him to bring them to our house and they would be looked after. The slave seemed scared. Another slave explained that usually that meant a punishment my father told the other slave that the only way to get them not to think that way is to prove it. they came by the house. Father told me what was going on. I gave them a couple of potions and told them to get some rest and they would be right as rain by tomorrow. Yesterday, they came to me thanking me. They told me they were feeling all better. I love making others feel good.
The farm here is mainly cotton and some tobacco. My father convinced them to get some cows and chickens. Stating that Mrs. Whitlock and I can use the products and he can sell all the extra. I love it. we have about 10 cows right now and 15 chickens. I love them all. I have the older slaves looking after my animals. They love my animals and care for them well.
It has been a busy day. I created tons of potions today. Lily looked after the baking after I made the dough. She did all the proofing, kneading and baking. I was able to bring some of the loaves over to Mrs. Whitlock as well. She keeps telling me she will send her daughter to learn from me, but who knows if she actually will. I don't think she will. She seems to want her daughter to just marry rich.
I love you,
Grace
"Did you sister ever learn from her?" Emmett asked.
"Yes, she did. She told Grace that she wanted to learn from her. My mother just wanted her to marry rich. My little sister wanted to make a difference." Jasper explained.
"I hade a little sister. Rose said she married and had kids and lived happily ever after." Emmett say's.
"I didn't know you had a little sister." Jasper says looking shocked.
"I don't talk about her much because I don't remember her much. I didn't get these nifty journals, that you did." Emmett says with a smile.
