I must've dozed off while Tara was reading, because the next thing I know, I felt someone lightly shaking me.
"Hmm." I hummed to whoever was shaking me.
"We need to head to TM to meet Gemma." Tara told me.
I got up, changed clothes, and rode with Tara to see what Gemma needed. I hope the guys are alright since I haven't heard from them or Jax.
"They're jamming us. Seven-figure bail, no court date, it's bullshit." Gemma growled.
Gemma, Tara, and I were sitting with Rosen, the club's lawyer, and he was telling us about the guys getting arrested.
"Apparently they have security tapes. Women and children running for their lives." Rosen said.
"You saw what happened to Otto. They've got no protection." Gemma said.
"I know." Rosen said.
"What about a bondsman?" Tara and I asked at the same time.
We glanced at each other because it's unusual for us to be thinking the same thing.
"500,000 a head, at ten percent, you'd need 300k to get the six of them out." Rosen replied.
"I could post the house." Gemma said.
"My dad's, too." Tara added.
"I could post mine as well." I said.
"That's enough to get out Clay. Maybe Jax. That's it." Rosen said,
"No. Clay won't leave 'em behind." Gemma sighed.
"I'm sorry Gemma. Clay needs you to call Leroy, deliver this message, asap. I never saw it. Never gave it to you." Rosen said before handing Gemma a piece of paper and then left.
I was hanging with Gemma, and when we walked into the office, we were met with Opie's kids.
"Hello." Gemma and I said at the same time.
"Hi." Kenny and Ellie said together.
"Where's grandma?" Gemma asked.
"She went to go find grandpa." Kenny replied.
Gemma went to talk to Ope, came back, and told me that Neeta was going to take Kenny and Ellie to Jax's. She also said that she was picking up Abel, but first, she was going to visit a friend. I told her that I would meet her at Jax's, but I needed to go home first. Gemma hugged me before taking off. I followed not too long after her, and boy was I in for a surprise.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" I asked as I got out of my car.
My brothers just looked at me before giving me a group hug. We all hugged each other tight since it's been quite some time since we've seen each other. All of us headed inside, and I explained everything from the time I arrived to Jax and the others getting arrested.
They were shocked but were glad that I stood my ground and didn't let anyone push me around. They were also happy that I finally found a guy that put me first and didn't force me to do anything I didn't want to do. I drove them around Charming and laughed as they ogled some of the women that were on their runs.
"I have someone I want you guys to meet." I told my brothers as I drove to Jax's.
I led my brothers into the house and showed them where Abel's room was. I watched as all four of my brothers became attached to the little boy, and then Tara joined me. Both of us couldn't help but giggle because it was the cutest scene. I also introduced Tara to my brothers, but then they went back to messing with Abel. Tara explained about Lyla trying to pick up Kenny and Ellie but was interrupted by the doorbell. Opie walked in and gave me a hug, but I could tell that something was off.
"Thank Tara." Opie told Kenny and Ellie.
"Thank you, Tara." Kenny said.
"You're welcome." Tara said.
"Thank you, Tara." Ellie said.
"You're welcome." Tara said.
They then came over to give me a hug, and I hugged them as tight as I could without hurting them.
"Kids, wait in the car." Opie told the kids.
The kids did as they were told, but I could tell that the tension in the room wasn't going to go away too soon.
"They're good kids." I said while trying to break the tension in the room.
"Look, I'm sorry about the Lyla thing. I wouldn't have done it if I didn't trust her." Opie told us.
"Guess we made a judgment call. Maybe you weren't thinking clearly." Tara said.
"That sounds like a judgment call." Opie said.
I just stood off to the side because I wasn't in this fight, this time at least. It's a good thing that my brothers are with Abel because I don't need them in this.
"She's a porn star." Tara said.
"She's a single mom. She's just trying to make it work like the rest of us." Opie said.
Tara just looked at him like she wanted to say something, but decided against it.
"How's Jax doing with it?" Opie asked me.
"He's figuring it out." I replied.
"Good he has you to help him." Opie said.
"You'll find someone, Ope. Time is right, it'll happen." Tara said.
"I went by my place. All of Mary's shit is gone. She split." Opie said.
"I'm sorry." Tara and I said at the same time.
"She couldn't be a mom 20 years ago. Can't do it now." Opie said.
"We'll help with the kids." I started.
"You're not alone, Ope." Tara finished.
"I am. Good night." Opie said before walking out the door.
I hugged Tara before we went back to watch my brothers ogle over Abel. Gemma then called us and we all met at TM because the guys were coming home. As the black van pulled in, we watched as the guys got out. Clay and the others went into the clubhouse, while Jax went into the garage. Tara and I were both going to go after Jax, but Gemma stopped us. Tara and I gave her a look and my brothers were just as confused, but I know that I'll explain once I find out what exactly happened. I took my brothers home and told them that I would tell them what happened at the garage, once I find out what happened. They nodded their heads and we just spent time together before we headed off to bed.
