Chapter 5 : Christmas time party
Kirito and Maple were helping gather supplies on the 27 floor with maple's army of elves and found a hidden room as another guild opened a trapped chest . He used his high hp to protect the guild members from some of the monsters as maple's and the elves army defense held out till all the monsters were vanquished . He looked to the guild and scratched his face . " Oh your the moonlit black cats we helped out awhile back even thou you tried to kill us " he said . He smiled " well at least no one died " he said as he turned to leave . He noticed the girl Sachi hugged him . " well your welcome Sachi anyway stick to the lower levels " he said as Maple and her army called him over .
Sachi took a breath and let Kirito out of the hug and placed her arms behind her back . " I know maple tree is being hunted by every player who gives up because your all final boss level in a way " She said noticing Kirito looked away . She then grabbed his hands and smiled " it's also thanks to that not many people have died and seeing Maple in action with her army of elves who's defenses always hold out " She said smiling as Kirito nodded in agreement . She kissed his cheek " will take your advice to heart since we don't want to almost die again " She said leaving with the rest of the moonlit Black cats .
Maple ruffled Kirito hair after he walked over . " let's head back to the rest of maple tree " She said noticing Kirito was blushing . She walked to the floor boss room and nodded as Sally , Asuna , Yui , and Mei finished the metallic element themed boss . " Nicely done , all the ones trying to kill us were brought to a safe area before we rescued a guild " She said . She chuckled as Asuna walked over and saw Kirito was still blushing . " Anyway let's head to the next floor " She said . She noticed Asuna kept trying to get an answer from Kirito why he was blushing as he explained to Kanade the anti crystal trap the moonlit black cats triggered by opening a treasure chest .
Kirito took a breath as they reached floor 28 . He looked around " this is different then the floor that was like it was underground " he said looking at Asuna who nodded . He then heard a cough behind them as they say up a camp . He noticed it was the moonlit black cats . He crossed his arms and smiled as the moonlit black cats bowed to maple tree . " join us for dinner " he said as Asuna was gathering ingredients . He finished setting up a tent as Yui and Mei did some dueling .
Sachi nodded to her guild leader who took Kirito aside to talk . She smiled as her guild members were helping set up the camp . She walked into the woods and saw Asuna gathering some tomato's and rabbits . She decide to help and noticed Asuna sighed . She took a breath " you have a crush on Kirito as well " She asked . She hugged Asuna as she nodded yeah . " well whoever he chooses will be a lucky girl by the way what do you think of being hunted by ever player and monster " She asked .
Asuna sighed " it's interesting and fun how the maple moments are interesting and I am not sure if I would be having this much fun if maple was not playing Sao when all this began " She said placing the ingredients in her inventory walking back to camp with Sachi . She took a breath and placed her hand on Sachi shoulder . " I am glad no one in your guild lost their lives " she said as Sachi still had a few tears of joy . She noticed Kirito and Ketia were talking . " it's almost Christmas time we are planning to get to the 35 floor before then how about your guild comes along with us " She said walking up to Ketia and Kirito along with Sachi .
Ketia sighed before nodding " We owe maple tree one so sure " he said as Maple finished setting up the camp placing some decorations . " What's maple doing " he asked as Kirito and Asuna sighed and handed him a note . " an early Christmas party since we gathered plenty of supplies " he read . He scratched his face " I think I get it since it's life or death in aincrad " he said as Asuna started cooking and Kirito nodded . He then heard the footsteps of other players being led by heathcliff.
Heathcliff stopped with the group as his right eye twitched seeing Maple tree celebrating Christmas early . He noticed Maple tree offered drinks and food to the group who accepted the gifts as they started to sing . He took a sip of the ale and ate some food . " what's makes this guild so strong " he thought . He noticed Kirito under some mistletoe as Asuna and Sachi kissed his cheeks and he fainted . He kept drinking the ale and found himself drunk . " I am the mastermind and your ruining my fun " he shouted and noticed looks from all the players . " Sorry I am just drunk " he said as the players then went back to their conversations . He noticed Maple took his hands and walked away .
Sally left the celebration and watched as Maple and Heathcliff were walking and talking . She noticed he sighed and saw a message pop in their messages . " Christmas truce till the actual day " She read . She then noticed Maple and Heathcliff returned to the celebration . She walked over to Kirito who was eating some of the rabbit and tomato's . " so what Heathcliff said while drunk " She asked as Kirito nodded in agreement . " thou for now we leave it be " She said as he nodded as Asuna and Sachi asked him to dance .
Kirito smiled as he danced with Asuna and Sachi . He noticed everyone was having fun . He felt happy as everyone was enjoying themselves . He walked over to Maple after he finished dancing with both girls . " So maple what do you think of the party " he asked as she smiled . He asked her to dance and smiled as she accepted the dance . " So Heathcliff " he said as She nodded as her army of elves watched Heathcliff . He nodded and took a breath . " I think we should just clear all the floors even if thier we're an easier way out like a shortcut or something " he said as she nodded as their danced finished .
