No mid-week update, because I've caught up with my buffer of scenes that were ready for prompt posting - I do have a lot of the 'fic written, but the next few scenes, which will shift to Jaina's POV as she tries to dogfight out of the mess she's landed in, are particularly scrappy, and need a bit of polishing up...

In the meantime, if you're looking for something else to read with these characters, I can recommend you Fragile by pregnantpadme - I realised I didn't have a copy when I was getting this 'fic ready for posting, and as a result, she's started getting the story back online here: you can find a link to her username on the reviews page of this story.

In the mean while, though, a big bold THANK YOU to everyone who's been reading this, and here are some replies to the nice reviews that people have left:

steelthewolf90 - thank you very much indeed for taking the time to signal your enjoyment; I definitely wanted this to be accessible, and I'm glad that worked for you!

pregnantpadme - "We'd better go and see what they want" = "Let's kriff this up"? Almost certainly! The next scene switches to Jaina's POV - sorry about the delay!

And in addition, there's a short guest review which FF.N for some reason decided to make visible before I had decided if I was going to display it, but which I've decided to leave in place. The comment in question seems quite tangential to the story, and I wonder if might even be a random bot, but it says something quite interesting, and may be intended as a critique of the stereotypical freighter setting of this story - "Everyone deserves post scarcity". Yes, absolutely; but reading this, I was struck by the thought that "post scarcity" might not actually be anything to do with the sort of high-tech progressivism that the idea is usually associated with in sci-fi and social theory; instead, maybe this is something far more practical that gets inhibited by the proportion of, as the review says, "exploitive imperialistic jerk", not always as obvious as the type who fly around on big triangular spaceship full of stormtroopers. And that's a very STAR WARS problem, and is exactly why the Jedi Order are having to use slightly dodgy freighter runs in the Javin for supplies in this story. So, yes, I agree with your words, but I'm not sure we have the same idea of what the practical solution looks like...
