Chapter 6: The Loonatics Assemble
Zadavia's POV
I had just met these kids, but I had already took a great interest in them. I led them to a different room. I sat them down, and began explaining who I was. Just as I was about to start, I noticed a raven pecking on the window. It looked like any ordinary raven you would see, except for the fact that a red gem was implanted on it's neck. It's eyes were jet black, and they didn't contain any pupil. I banged my fist on the window to get it to shoo, and it flew away startled. (Sidenote: Remember that raven, just in case it, or she, bounces up later in the story.)
I then went back to the kids. I sat down and then began talking. "I am Zadavia, a woman from another planet. You are Acmetropolians, and descendants of 5he star group of comedians, the Looney Tunes. Well, almost all." I said, taking a look at Jeanine. She was the only human in the group, the only one not originally from Acmetropolis, and the only one who likely wasn't a descendant of a Looney Tunes star. But, I didn't care.
I then continued speaking. "Well, as I have already stated, you know that the meteor hit yesterday, and the peculiar changes that you have experienced. Well, those changes are due to your genetic codes being rearranged. And now, you have, well, superpowers." Most of the kids were shocked, while Jeanine was starstruck. "You mean like in Mercury Lewis?" she asked. "What?" Zadavia asked. "Oh, it's an anime about a girl named Mercury who gains superpowers after an accident." " Oh, well anyway, it is not just you who have been affected by the meteor, others have been affected too and not for the better." The others were all captivated when I told them this. "So, boss lady, what do you want from us?" Duck asked me. I liked the sound of boss lady. "Well, what I want you kids to do is become Acmetropolis' guardians: superheroes."
No One's POV
They were all shocked when Zadavia told them this, but Jeanine squealed with excitement. "Wait! Are you serious? I can't believe this! Punch me, this has got to be a dream!" she said. Without warning, Ace got up and punched her. As a result, her arm briefly stretched out before reverting to normal. "Ow, dude!" Jeanine yelled. "Well, ya were askin' fer it." Ace replied. "Bro, now I see why your dad wants you to run the Bruce Kossori Martial Center." Jeanine replied. Lexi appeared shocked. "Wait. Is your father Jackie Bunny?" Lexi asked Ace. "Yes. Why? Do ya know him?" He asked. "Yeah, my younger sister Nikki takes tae kwon do lessons from him. Also, do you and Jeanine know each other?" Lexi questioned. "Are you acquaintances?" Tech asked the two. Zadavia agreed with them. They were together when she saw them, so she thought they must have had some kind of connection.
"Acquaintances? We've been best friends since daycare." Jeanine said. "Yeah, we've been best friends eva since Jeanine moved here a few years ago." Lexi stared at Jeanine. How can he be friends with a girl who's the sister of a girl who's my enemy? Lexi wondered. But, she also thought that maybe Jeanine might not be so bad. She decided that she would not be mean to Jeanine because she didn't want to appear like a spoiled little girl, and because she at least wanted to get along with a future partner. Duck asked, "If Jeanine's despicable, does that mean the rabbit is worse?" Ace was very offended by Duck's comment. As a result, Ace walked over to Duck and slapped him in the face. "You are despicable." Duck said to Ace.
"Wait. Most teams of superheroes have different positions. Are we supposed to have those?" Jeanine asked. Zadavia nodded and said, "Yes, but only one: The leader. Leaders always serve their team honestly, respect other citizens and their team members, have confidence, display quick wit and charm, and will do anything for their loved ones. After my research, I decided that Ace would be the perfect leader." Ace was obviously shocked. "Wait. You're making him leader?! You barely know him!" Duck yelled. "I did it because he matches the qualities. He serves his family honestly, has respect, and shows wit and charm, like his ancestor Bugs Bunny." Zadavia stated.
"What about superhero outfits? Do we have those?" Jeanine asked. "Of course." Zadavia said, and then took out the outfits. They were mainly black, and came with masks. For six of the outfits, there were masks that covered the whole face, while one of them just covered the eyes. Each of the outfits came with a bodysuit, gloves, and boots. They also each had different accents, or different colors, and a triangle on the bodysuit. One had yellow accents, one pink, one orange, one purple, one green, one red, and one blue. The teens realized what Zadavia had meant when she said "triangle".
She handed the outfits to each of them respectfully. First, she handed the yellow outfit to Ace. "Welcome to the team, Ace." She then pulled out a sword. She said, "Take this. It is the Guardian Strike Sword." Ace stared at the sword in shock. "Where did it come from? What does it do?" he asked. "You'll find out soon enough." Zadavia said. She then walked over to Lexi and handed her the pink outfit. "Welcome to the team, Lexi." "Thank you, mam." Lexi said. She then walked over to Duck, and handed him the orange outfit. "Welcome to the team, Duck." "You know, boss lady, it's not too late to make me the leader." He said. She shook her head, and handed the purple outfit to Slam. "Welcome to the team, Slam." "Knath uoy." He said. She then handed the green outfit to Tech. "Welcome to the team, Tech." "Thank you, Zadavia. I promise I will be a great superhero." Tech stated. She gave the red bodysuit to Rev. "Welcome to the team, Rev." "Thank-you-Zadavia-I'll-be-a-great-superhero-You-can-trust-me." Rev said. Then, she went over to Jeanine and handed her the blue outfit.
Jeanine's POV
"Welcome to the team, Jeanine." Zadavia said. I looked down at the outfit. "Wait. Are you sure I'm a good choice?" I asked. "Of course. This is what you are meant to be, Jeanine. You can trust me." Zadavia told me. I was hesitant. I had always wanted to be a superhero, but this was surprising. But, I took Zadavia's hand and said, "Okay, I'll do it."
Then, she said, "All right. What about a team name?" We all looked at each other in confusion. Just then, an idea came up in my head. "I know! What about the Loonatics? L-o-o-n-a-t-i-c-s." They all stared at me in confusion. "Why?" Duck asked. Slam growled in confusion. "Well, since almost all of us are descendants of Looney Tunes, we should become the Loonatics!" I said. Ace seemed to agree with me. "Yeah. It might be a bit of a stretch, but it's a good idea. I nominate namin' us da Loonatics. All in favor?" he said. Everyone raised their hands. So as of that moment, we became the Loonatics.

Then, Zadavia told them, "There's one more thing we need to discuss. I think it would be best if you moved into the tower." They were all shocked. "Wait, you want us to move out of our houses?" Duck asked Zadavia. "But we're teens. We can't live by ourselves!" Rev pointed out. "Trust me. You don't have to live on your own completely. I'll check in on you from time to time, and to tell you when criminals are roaming the streets of Acmetropolis. But, you all can move in next week. I'll be glad seeing you then. You can now leave." She said, then they left.
The teens all left separately, except for Jeanine and Ace who were walking home together. They were chatting. "Can you believe it, Ace? We're gonna be superheroes!" Jeanine said. "Yeah, I'm happy too, Jeanine, but I'm really worryin'. What are my folks gonna say? I'm not sure dey'll believe me anyway. If dey do believe me, what if dey don't wanna let me move out?" Ace replied. Jeanine could sense her best friend's concern. Just then, she remembered: Anya's note for Ace! Jeanine said, "Yeah, I agree with you. But, Ace, there is something I want to tell you. It's about Anya." "What about her?" Ace asked. "Well..." Just before Jeanine could finish, she heard someone yell out, "Ace Charlie Bunny! Mr. Baxter said you destroyed his couch. Is this true?" The two kids turned around to find they were already at Ace's house. Jackie was standing on the stairs, and he looked anything but pleased. "Good luck, dude. You're gonna need it." Jeanine said. Ace waved before walking to his father, and Jeanine continued to walk home.
Jeanine's POV
I arrived at my house after walking for a wh. Anya's car was in the driveway, meaning she likely drove home while we were talking. When I went outside, my parents, Anya, and Granny June were eating lunch. "Oh, hey Jeanine. You want a roast beef poboy?" Granny June asked me. "Um, guys, there's something I wanna tell you." They all stared at me in confusion. Then, I stretched my harm out until it reached my Granny's room. They were all shocked. "Wait, baby. Do you have superpowers?" Mom asked. "Um, yes. And, also I've decided to move out next week." They were all shocked. We talked about it, and my parents had decided it was a good idea. So, I was a superhero and I was moving out. In short, it was a pretty eventful day.
Note: As of this chapter, Loonatics Rise is going on hiatus for a couple of weeks. I'll be back in January. I hope you understand. See you then!
