A/N: I wrote this out when I was at work last night. I've had it in my brain for a while now and I was worried how it would come out. I think it came out alright. Let me know.

Sesshomaru glanced at his mate where she sat next to him on the deck with her legs tucked underneath her comfortably on a small pillow she had brought out.

Humming softly to herself she brushed out her long unruly locks running her fingers through as she untangled the difficult, wild mess.

Taking the strands and beginning the task of braiding her hair to sit over her shoulder she glanced at him and smiled as he watched her.

That smile that had thoroughly undone him was all he needed from her, it was all he ever wanted simply for her to smile at him.

Flicking his attention quickly to the land that laid in front of their home Rin knew something had caught his attention.

"Lord Sesshomaru, what is it?"

"Jaken." Sesshomaru commanded. Jaken who had been tending to An-Un not too far off looked up to him from the ground.

"Mi'lord, what is it?" He questioned similarly to Rin. As much as either would dispute the fact the two had picked up habits from one another over the years.

"Summon Lady Izumi and Kohaku. Tell them that the eastern house of the sun is paying their regards." He replied.

"Yes mi'lord." Taking a moment to glance around he scratched at his head.

"Where is the lady and Kohaku exactly?"

"They're in their bed chamber."

"Lazy, lay abouts…sleeping in this late in the day." Jaken grumbled making his way up the steps into the house.

"I am fairly certain they are not sleeping." Rin remarked with a small giggle. Either she was ignored or it was lost on Jaken as he went in.

"Rin. You will need to be firm with these people. Do not let them mistreat you or look down upon you. Do not forget you are my mate, the lady to the western lands." Sesshomaru said seriously.

Taking a deep breath Rin squared her shoulders and gave an affirmative nod. Moving her gaze to the grounds where he was looking the air was filled with electricity making her hairs stand on end.

It reminded her of being caught in a lightening storm, she could smell the static in the air as it became denser.

Oppressive and heavy Rin sat up as pin straight as she could firming her lips as a blazing beam of light struck the ground in front of them some feet away into the ground.

Laying behind her Kohaku thrust into Izumi deeply as she whined the way she did as he hit the spot that gave her pleasure.

Their legs were intertwined with one another with his head resting against her shoulder and her hand firmly behind his head as he kissed and sucked on her neck.

With one hand resting on her stomach and his other arm underneath her so that their hands were locked together and fingers wrapped around the others Izumi titled her head back and gasped.

Digging her claws gently into his skin she wanted to taste the sweat that she could scent as he drove into her body creating delicious ripples to hit the base of her spine before climbing back up again.

"Kohaku! Yes! More!" She whined as he moved slightly to angle himself differently hitting another spot in her well making her nearly see stars. "Ah! Kohaku! Oh…oh!"

"Izu, my beautiful girl. My darling wife. I'm yours, all yours…for the rest of my life." He grunted out as the knock came to the panel of her sliding door.

"Lady Izumi." Jakens voice sounded from the other side as if chastising them for coupling in their own quarters.

"I'm busy." She snapped out growling at the intrusion.

"The lord of the eastern house of the sun is arriving mi'lady. Lord Sesshomaru requests your presence to greet with Lord Akiko." Jaken replied quickly. Kohaku stopped pulling out of her and untangling himself from her.

"Fine." She said staring up at the skylight as she rolled onto her back. Sitting up she scooted down to the end of the futon and went to the pitcher of water and bowl she used for washing.

Grabbing the cloth and wringing it out she offered it to Kohaku. "While I can think of more creative ways to clean you up this will have to do for now."

"I hope that you share them with me once your company leaves." He replied taking the cloth from her wiping first his face before rinsing it and washing under his arms.

Smirking at him she grasped another and began to wash herself. It would take off the immediate scent of their copulation but they slept together every night, had been spending time with the other for months; Kohakus scent was practically engrained into her skin as hers was on him.

It made her nervous about what would happen now that the time had actually come to present him as her mate. She had hoped that her father would send some soldiers and a midwife but no, he had to come himself.

Dressing herself in a white kimono and tying it with a blue obi before donning a golden robe over her she brushed out her hair turning to Kohaku.

He was wearing a simple white kimono top with black pants. Taking his kusarigama off the wall and wrapping the chain around his waist to slip the sickle part into the side of his waist line he offered Izumi his arm.

"Are you ready love?" He asked taking in the sudden apprehension that rolled off of her. Smoothing down her garment she took a deep breath making her face expressionless.

"I am." Accepting his arm they walked out of their room and down the hall into the sitting room before Kohaku opened the front doors for her and for the first time in months Izumi came face to face with her father.

Kohaku assisted her to kneel beside Rin on the deck as he took a place to her left with Sesshomaru on Rins right.

Standing some feet away from them stood a demon male with four soldiers flanking him on both sides and behind. A female stood off to his back left with her hands neatly folded over her front.

"Lord Akiko. Welcome to the west." Izumi greeted. "I trust your travel here was without conflict."

"Izumi." His voice was smooth but deep, not completely unlike Sesshomarus in its quality. Tanned skin that seemed to glow illuminated his platinum hair.

Pointed elf like ears adorned with many small hooped earrings on each one started from the tips only stopping at the earlobes.

Two parallel blue lines ran across each cheek meeting down at his chin making it seem as if he wore a scowl even though his features remained neutral.

Dressed in a white kimono with the sunflower pattern wrapping up the long sleeves of his arm disappeared under the layers of hard armor he wore, much akin to a samurais.

The hilt of a sword was seen poking out from the scabbard on his back as he took in the four of them before him.

"When word came back from my men that they had scented you on a human male I was irate. When they informed this one that you had defended said male it was a shock."

"Kohaku this is my father, Lord Akiko of the eastern house of the sun. My lord, this is Kohaku leader of the demon slayer village to the central lands and mate to this one, Izumi." Izu declared.

"Whatever games you are playing or debauchery you have involved yourself in is of little concern to this one. All that matters is that the task you were sent here to do is completed." He stated.

"You must be referring to the breeding. Yes, it is done. This Izumi will whelp by years end. This one is fairly certain that Lord Sesshomaru informed the messenger sent that there was no need for a cordial visit from either the east or the west." She said.

"Forgive me daughter for not believing you." Snapping his fingers briskly the female came forward. "Now, you will be accompanied by Lady Iku and made certain that you are."

"Lady Rin is an accomplished midwife and healer. She has already confirmed a successful coupling weeks ago. It is apparent that I am in, case you did not notice. There is no need to be re-examined at this point." Izumi explained.

"What proof do you have that what you carry is in fact a pure blooded demon and not a half-breed? You reek of this human when you should have some hint of the male that allegedly sired this pup." Akiko frowned as he spoke.

Rin shifted slightly in her spot as Kohaku stiffened. Sesshomaru and Izumi remained immobile seemingly unfazed by his words.

"That was weeks ago now that we laid together, if you would want this one to be crass. We did what was expected of us and no more." She said firmly. "This is Lord Sesshomarus heir."

"You will not undermine your lord." Akiko responded. Izumi scoffed and smirked but there was no kindness or humor behind it. Turning to Sesshomaru Izumi narrowed her eyes.

"What will you have me do then my lord?" She questioned Sesshomaru.

"Nothing." Sesshomaru replied.

"Both of you, this…this is what I was afraid of, sending her to you only to have you twist her mind. Yet your mother insisted that it would make a good breeding based on your rise to power rather quickly. Fool that I am I gave in." Akiko said clenching his fists.

"This has not a thing to do with Lord Sesshomaru and everything to do with finding where I belong." Izumi replied turning her attention back to her father. Standing she walked down the few steps to face in front of him. "This is my pack."

"Your pack?" He chuckled in her face. "Idiot. Your pack is made of humans, humans are weak and fleeting. Izumi, you will come back with me where you will whelp. Enough of this nonsense."

"No. This is my pack. I have been accepted by all of them. I am staying here in the west with no plans to return to the east." She asserted.

Leaning forward slightly Akiko took a deep breath. "I do not need you. Just the pup you are carrying. Granted it is a male. When the time comes I will personally gut it from you."

In a flash Kohaku stood with his weapon drawn and standing in front of Izumi. "Care to fight me demon slayer?"

"You will not threaten Lady Izumi or the life of her child." Kohaku spit out angrily. Rin sat with her hands clenched in her lap.

"Lord Akiko. You have thoroughly disowned Lady Izumi by threatening not only her life but the life of her child, whom is heir to Lord Sesshomaru of the western lands. "

"As such, I Lady Rin of the westerns lands, decree that you forfeit any rights they the east may have had over the said heir. The child will be born to the west and remain in the west with its mother, the Lady Izumi formerly of the eastern house of the sun."

Astounded at the fluid way the words fell from her lips she remained still keeping eye contact with the other lord as he glared daggers at her.

"A human and a female has no say over any matters pertaining to this ones lands." He snapped.

"The Lady Rin has spoken." Sesshomaru said. "I, Sesshomaru, agree in accordance with her decree. This heir belongs to the western lands and the west alone."

Snarling Akiko quickly drew his sword making his soldiers ready themselves as Kohaku moved to defend himself as the blade swung down towards him.

Rin screamed as Sesshomaru darted forward a fraction of a second too late standing beside Kohaku and Izumi.

In that instant she had knocked Kohaku down to the ground taking the sword stroke to her own chest being impaled on her right side close to her shoulder.

Howling at the pain as her father withdrew the sword the wound began to sizzle and burn as it seared her flesh, burning away at her clothing around the wound as if it had been set on fire.

Drawing the Bakusaiga Sesshomaru clashed swords with Akiko. "Kohaku, tend to your mate and protect mine." He ordered.

"Yes my lord." He said quickly standing. Picking Izumi up in his arms he hurried her up the steps. "Rin, inside. Now."

"Lord Sesshomaru!" Rin jumped to her feet clutching at her kimono tightly.

"You heard your lord Rin! Do as he says!" Jaken shouted jumping from one foot to the other.

"Rin please, Izu needs your help." Kohaku pleaded. Torn between not knowing what to do she gave a quick nod running after Kohaku into the house.

"You see what your lord has done to his own flesh and blood?" Pushing Akiko back with the Bakusaiga he narrowed his eyes as the elder held his ground baring his fangs. "All of you would follow such a disgrace and claim him as lord over your lands?"

The soldiers seemed at odds as to what to do as Sesshomaru released an energy blast from the blade effectively knocking him back.

"That is but a mere sampling of this Sesshomarus power. Vex me further and you will receive the brunt of it." Sesshomaru threatened.

"You!" Akiko snarled gripping the hilt of his blade as his hands were burnt and bled from the poison the Bakusaiga had exuded.

"Leave my lands." Sesshomaru ordered through his own bared fangs. Keeping his eyes keenly on the other as he stood shakily trembling.

"Attack him!" Akiko ordered his men. When none moved he became further enraged. "I order you as your lord…" Gasping as a blade went to his throat his captain narrowed his eyes at him.

"For attacking the Lady Izumi and endangering the life of the future heir to the east, Lord Akiko, I will see you tried for treason." He said. "Seize him."

"Mutiny! This is mutiny!" Akiko shouted as his own soldiers moved to subdue him. Attempting to swing his sword down Sesshomaru effectively knocked it from his hands for it to fall to the ground.

The soldiers brought him to the earth shackling him with iron cuffs around his wrists and ankles held together by a heavy chain.

"You have brought this upon yourself Akiko." Sesshomaru stated. "Consider yourself lucky that this Sesshomaru does not deal with you in his own way for your attack on this ones heir."

Growling Akiko was hauled up by the chains that bound him by two of the soldiers while one stood in front of them.

Their captain turned and bowed respectfully to Sesshomaru.

"Lord Sesshomaru please know that Lord Akiko will be dealt with swiftly and to the fullest extent of the law for his indiscretion against your pack."

"Tell me how you expect this to go exactly; bringing the lord of the east back in shackles?" Sesshomaru asked curiously.

"The actions of Lord Akiko do not reflect all of us in the east my lord. Once it becomes known that his ill temper caused injury to our beloved Lady Izumi there is no doubt in my mind he will deposed of." The captain said.

"Which makes Lady Izumi ruler of the eastern house of the sun." Sesshomaru stated.

"Yes my lord. Despite what some may believe, again it does not reflect the majority."

"Very well."

"My lord I will leave you with one of my men and the attending healer, Lady Iku."

"Not necessary." Sesshomaru said curtly.

"My lord." Lady Iku said bowing low to him. "If this one may speak."

"You may."

"Lord Sesshomaru, this one heard the Lady Izumi state that the lady of the west, Lady Rin, is an efficient healer and midwife however my lord she is, by my guess, attended only to humans in this regard." Iku said. "Our kind is different and it may be beneficial for this one to attend to Lady Izumi during the time that she whelps."

"Discuss the matter with Lady Rin and Lady Izumi. It is their decision."

"Yes my lord." Iku said bowing again.

"If you would accept his service my lord, Riku, he is a strong leader and will do well to protect not only the Lady Izumi but also the Lady Rin." The captain said.

Sesshomaru locked eyes with the captain knowing that in him he had an ally who commanded the army of the east. With a slight nod of his head he approved.

"Oh Izumi." Rin cried as she tended to her wound.

"I am alright Rin. Please don't cry." Izu said taking her hands into hers.

"He hurt you. That terrible man hurt you." Placing her hands against her swollen stomach Rin sobbed. "Our baby."

"Is perfectly fine." Izumi soothed placing her forehead to hers. "We are alright."

"You should not have done that Izumi. I…" Kohaku said pacing the floor of their room like a caged animal.

"You would have been dead Kohaku." Izumi said. "Do not think for one moment that I don't believe that you can protect us but not against my father and that sword. It would have burned you alive from the inside out."

Gripping the kusarigama tightly and clenching his teeth Kohaku stalked out of the room. Rin backed off wiping her eyes and her face grabbing the supplies she had brought into the room to dress her wound.

A light rapping at the door panel sounded.

"Enter." Izumi said seeing the demon midwife walk in.

"Lady Rin, Lady Izumi." She said respectfully bowing.

"Lady Iku." Izumi greeted. "What has happened?"

"Captain Tadao is taking Lord Akiko back to the east along with two of his men to be tried for treason my lady." Iku stated.

"Treason." Izumi repeated.

"Yes my lady, for his attack on your and your pup." She said. "The captain ordered Riku and I to stay, for me to attend to you my lady if that is what both of you decide."

Rin pursed her lips for a moment not stopping her work of cleaning Izumis wound the best she could.

"What do you think Rin?" Izumi questioned feeling as if she were disconnected from her body.

"It would not hurt to have another woman around to help out. I have to admit that I do want to assist you in birthing your pup but I have no experience in the matter. I have only assisted human women with human infants." Rin said.

"Okay." Izu said simply. Turning to face the other Rin gave a slight nod.

"We would appreciate the help Lady Iku."

"Very good my lady." Iku responded.

"You can start by helping me dress Lady Izumis wounds." She said. Iku nodded making her way over to kneel beside Rin to help Izu.
