Chapter 19
The next month went by quickly for Leonard and Penny, Leonard working hard all month rewriting his research funding proposals and budget estimates, while at the same time putting together plans and equipment purchase proposals to take advantage of all the money he and Penny had solicited during the fund-raiser. Penny, that month, continued with attending casting calls and trying to get as many extra jobs as she could, which turned out to be a lot of work and a lot of disappointment, even though she did get a small speaking part as a store clerk on a Hallmark movie. She was still basically a nobody when it came to auditions and would probably remain that way until at least her SyFy movie came out and she was then allowed to use it on her resume, which she currently couldn't admit she was even in the movie until it was shown on TV, per the contract she signed. Therefore, Penny was trying to audition for any part she could find and serve as an extra in any movie or TV show she could, which kept her as busy as Leonard and made for some late days for her, just like Leonard. All this work resulted in a demanding schedule for both of them, only allowing them barely to be able to make takeout nights with their friends and have some time with them on the weekends, Leonard being lucky to get an hour or two of gaming in with his friends every other week and Penny only managing to have girl's time with Amy and Bernadette during that same time.
This busy time actually seemed a little strange, when Penny thought about it, because even though they lived together, they weren't doing any more with each other than when they lived in separate apartments, however except for one very important thing, no matter how their days went, Leonard and Penny would still get to spend their late evenings together and sleep together. Even though sometimes these evenings would just result in them being so wore out from their days activities that they would eat a quick dinner, then "Veg"-out in front of the TV for an hour or two before going to sleep, them both falling fast asleep in each other's arms as soon as their bodies met the bed. It was during this time that Penny especially found that she felt great comfort in finding Leonard home when she got there, or when she came home earlier than him, knowing he would be home soon after. Spending the remaining time of a tiring day on the couch, a blanket over her as she was cuddled by Leonard, was extremely relaxing to her and she it was making her realize that living with him was becoming so natural that she had trouble imagining them ever living apart.
Of course, that feeling of never living apart again was a two-edged sword for Penny, the good side being her understanding that she was truly and completely in love with Leonard, her never dreaming being with another man except him. However, the bad side of it all was that she began to worry about how long this could all last, she couldn't help being pessimistic about living with a guy, even Leonard, because when she was honest with herself, she never had a relationship with any guy, or lived with one, that ever ended up going any further than an eventual breakup, her previous breakup at the bowling alley with Leonard justifying her thoughts, so, if she thought about all this too much she couldn't help but start to worry. There was also, to a smaller sense, another problem she had, she was still fighting in her own mind the concept of settling down, getting married, having kids and growing old together, there was still a part of her that felt she wasn't ready for that yet and that made her question her commitment to move any more forward with Leonard, beyond where they were now. Her poor relationship history, with that commitment issue, only added to her fears of losing him and that fear was something that sort of ate at her because since the very first time she dated him she couldn't get over her other nagging thought that one day he may realize she wasn't smart enough for him and dump her. She tried to force herself not to think about these things too much, overthinking about them just making her more confused, because although she thought with time, she maybe could move forward a little to commit more with Leonard, she didn't know if that was enough, even with the fact that if they ever broke up now, she would be devastated, because unlike any guy before she was madly in love with her nerd and she did want him in her life, forever. That was her biggest problem, the conflicting issues going her head verses her need of Leonard in her life, adding to the fact she was still was resisting the next step in commitment. It actually made her wonder if her commitment issues were the cause of her inability to keep a relationship going, those thoughts making her want to keep some of her walls up so if her relationship ended with Leonard she would not be completely broken. She was actually become very scared if she overthought it too much, scared she would eventually do something to break them up and then would not be able to survive the breakup because she was loving him too much.
So, even with Penny's worries, life went on for Leonard and Penny, the next month being pretty much the same for them as the previous, except, though things were still great between her and Leonard, things were not totally perfect in 3A for Penny as she began to study their relationship more and more, actually being very sensitive to any problems between them. There was never any doubt in Penny's mind that she loved living with Leonard, however, as Penny began to overthink their relationship, more and more, she also began noticing little things about Leonard that she never noticed before or just subconsciously accepted because she wasn't normally someone who overthought things. Like during their times of just laying around and watching TV, Leonard would be especially interested in watching certain shows or movies, that were not his typical Star Trek or Star Wars movies. She didn't really mind him nerding out to his SyFy shows, since she was warm and comfortable just laying against him and would just go to sleep if she got too bored, but she did begin to notice how passionate he was about watching those shows and movies. This passionate side of Leonard really stood out to her when one night he suggested they watch "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" a show she couldn't help compare to her days in high school, the girls in it being pretty and popular, along with some of them being very mean.
So, once she fully took notice of this habit of Leonard's, about being passionate for these shows, she couldn't get it out of her mind and for the rest of the month it made Penny wonder if this characteristic of him was something she had missed before or was something that had just shown up since they began to live together. It was no way a deal breaker for her on how she felt about living and being with Leonard but it did make her wonder if she really did know all about him and made her a little concerned if there were things that maybe she was doing that he was now just noticing. Of course, she never said a thing to Leonard, she felt a little weird that she even noticed it and it was on her mind, it didn't even bug her, but it did make her wonder about him and herself, as it tweaked that fear in her that sometime in the future, he would leave her. So, it was the next Girl's Night that she decided to find out if it was her or was Leonard now doing something that was actually new, changing and she just began to notice it.
"Hey, can I ask you guys something?" Penny said after they pulled out of the apartment parking lot, before looking at Bernadette and Amy and then rethinking her question. "Amy, not you." she then looked at Bernadette again, "Does Howard get really passionate about things?"
Bernadette, who was driving, gave Penny a quick confused sideward glance, "You mean like in the bedroom and such." her thinking that Penny excluding Amy meant her question had something to do with sex.
"Oh, this should be interesting." Amy added with excitement, as she moved up from her spot in the back seat, her too thinking Penny was referring to sex.
Penny quickly caught on what the girls were both thinking after Amy's remark, "No not sex, this has nothing to do with me and Leonard having sex."
"Aww." Amy responded as she leaned back into the back seat, from her position near the backs of the front seats, where she went after Penny first asked her question.
Amy's response got Penny a little aggravated, "Really Amy, you're disappointed because I don't want to talk about Leonard and my sex life."
Bernadette just giggled in the driver's seat, making Penny turn towards her, "You're not helping."
Bernadette let out one more giggle before plastering a neutral expression on her face, then telling Penny, "Sorry."
"So, what is going on that you brought up this question." Bernadette now asked
Penny sighed, thinking this was going to be harder than she thought, "Well you know Leonard and I have been really busy during last couple months and a lot of times we come home late, eat dinner, then "Veg" in front of the TV for a couple hours before we go to bed. Anyway, I've been noticing how passionate he has been about some of the shows he has been selecting for us to watch and how excited he gets, even going so far as trying to get me excited about them. Then there was this thing with Sheldon, last week, about this Dr. Promo or Protieus, something like that, who also had a TV show when they were kids, that again Leonard and even Sheldon were excited about." she explained.
"You mean Dr. Proton." Amy asked.
"Yeah, that's it." Penny answered.
"Wow, it has been a long time since I saw Dr. Proton on TV." Bernadette added.
"You guys know the show!" Penny asked in disbelief
"Of course, Dr. Proton inspired a lot of young children about science." Amy explained.
"Why, what did you watch when you were a kid, Penny." Bernadette asked.
"Cartoons, like most normal children." Penny answered with a little indignation.
Both Amy and Bernadette rolled their eyes, then giggled, to Penny's response, before Bernadette began speaking again.
"Does Leonard being passionate about TV shows bother you?" Bernadette asked
"Are you thinking of breaking up with Leonard, again?" Amy then asked
Penny quickly looked at Bernadette and Amy in-turn while responding, "NO, nooo...if this bothered me much, I would have broken up with him long ago when he tricked me into watching those Star Trek War movies with him." then in a softer voice, filled with sincerity, "I don't want to break up with him, I love him and I love living with him."
Bernadette just nodded, a little surprised how serious Penny was about stating her love for Leonard, before asking, "Then why does this bother you."
"Well, I started to wonder if he was always like this and am, I now just noticing it since I'm living with him and then if my not being passionate about stuff like he is bothers Leonard and are there other things that bother Leonard about me now that we live together." Penny confessed, rambling a little because she was a little upset even thinking about it.
Bernadette took a quick glance at Penny, seeing the concern on her face. It was actually strange to hear her being so concerned about her relationship with Leonard, since it had been only in the last year that she had actually thought about breaking up with him again. Something had really changed with them moving in together and you could almost hear in her words, when they talked to Penny, that she was really taking their relationship serious and was even a little needy at the thought of them breaking up. She was just thinking of something to respond to her, when Amy now thankfully spoke up.
"But you do get passionate about TV shows, too." Amy said.
"I don't understand what you mean." Penny asked, confusion on her face.
"You are very passionate about all those reality shows you watch." Amy stated
"Amy is right, you are passionate about the Kardashians and everything they do." Bernadette added.
"No, I'm not." Penny said defensively, without a lot of conviction.
"Yeah right, you can't tell me you didn't yell at the TV when one of them did something you didn't like." Bernadette said sarcastically
Penny looked down, and softly responded. "Well, when Chloe does something stupid, someone has to let her know."
"See, passion." Amy now added
"Also, you just showed you have passion for Leonard when you said you love him." Bernadette stated, which Amy nodded to.
Penny was quiet a second before responding, "I guess you're right, I never really thought about it that way, I do seem to have passion for some things, it must just be easier to see it in other people than yourself.
"You might also be more sensitive to what is going on with Leonard now that you are living together and, as you said, love him. A person in love is usually more concerned about the object of their love, how they are, and anything that could ruin their relationship, than their own well-being." Amy added.
Penny nodded obviously thinking about what the girls said, "I guess I am passionate about my life right now and especially my life with Leonard." she then looked at the girls, "I guess I have passion for my friends, too."
"Aww." Amy said while moving forward in her seat again to give Penny a pat on the shoulder.
"I think someone loves us, Amy." Bernadette added, way too cutely.
Penny now frowned, "Though sometimes, I can also hate you guys and want to go all Nebraska on your asses, too."
Bernadette got serious quickly, "Okay, got it."
Amy adding, "Are we there, yet."

This Girls Night went a little differently that most previous Girls Nights, the tone being set by Penny's discussion about passion for things and people, on the way to the club, these subjects ending up dominating their conversations for the night. The girls quickly directing their conversation about passions towards their boyfriends/husbands, in Bernadette's case, as they drank more and got more passionate about their feelings about the men in their life. They seemed to get more caught up in their discussion as the night went on and with each round of drinks, them soon forgetting where they were as they got more intensely involved in their feelings for their guys. So, when the waitress came by, after a while, with a round of drinks for them, purchased by a group of guys at another table, all three girls suddenly had the urge to leave and return home to their men, picking up their handbags and leaving the bewildered waitress, still holding the tray of drinks, and surprised table of guys who just watched them leave.
The Uber seemed to take forever to get back to the apartment building for the girls return, them all a little tipsy from their night together but not really too badly drunk, their alcohol buzz obviously putting them in a very good mood. Penny was leading them as they burst into 4A, a huge smile on her face. "I love you guys so much." she blurted out as soon as they all were inside, then she zeroed in on Leonard as she almost ran to him, and quickly got into his lap, adding: "especially you honey." before kissing him quite intensely.
Bernadette, after watching what Penny did, just saying, "me too" before going to Howard and getting his lap and kissing him.
Amy quickly moved to sit next to Sheldon, making sure their bodies touched a little, hoping that he might succumb to peer pressure and kiss her, too, her still sober enough to realize that getting in his lap and kissing him on her own would not probably go over very well with him. However, Sheldon just looked at the other two couples before looking down at his girlfriend who was currently invading his space, "Amy, I hope none of you drove home in this state of alcohol inebriation.?"
Amy quickly responded, seeing the disapproval in her boyfriend's words and face, "No, we took an Uber home."
It was that response that finally made Howard break the kiss between him and Bernadette, then pushing her slightly away before asking her. "Did you leave our car at the bar?"
Bernadette pouted at him, "You didn't want me to drive home and maybe get hurt, did you?"
Howard immediately felt bad, and knew he better make the right response to not ruin his wife's good mood, "No, of course not." he quickly said, he did love her a lot and it was true he never would want her to get hurt, but then he asked, "I'm just wondering how we will get home without our car."
Raj, who had drove to the apartment that night in his own car, now spoke up, "I can drive you to your car on the way home if we don't stay much longer." He was jealous of the PDA (Public Displays of Affection) between the couples, at least between Howard, Bernadette, Penny and Leonard, especially since he was still in a weird relationship with Lucy, and just wanted to leave, now.
Penny who had been oblivious to everything around her, now just leaned back to look at Leonard, "God, you are so cute." she whispered mostly to herself, but just barely loud enough for Leonard to hear.
Leonard chuckled softly, "What has initiated this sudden affection, you didn't cheat on me, did you?" he said with a smile and chuckle, obvious that he was kidding with her.
Penny now pouted, "Can't a girlfriend be passionate about her boyfriend."
Leonard smiled back at her, "Yes, she can." he then decided to add, "And her boyfriend is passionate about her, too."
Penny now smiled, "Good come-back Hofstadter."
Penny then stood and grabbed Leonard's hand to pull him up with her before starting to the door, turning her head to say their good-byes. "See you later, Leonard and I have to go to bed." her then alcohol influenced mind suddenly understood that sounded bad, so she added, "We're sleepy."
Bernadette giggled, "Sure you are." before she looked back at Howard and gave him a wink.
"Raj, we are ready to go, now." Howard blurted out after seeing Bernadette's wink and how hazed over her eyes seemed to look, with lust.
"Yea, yea. Let's go." Raj said with a little disgust, now even more jealous at the way Penny and Bernadette were acting, especially missing having a relationship with Lucy that could lead to that kind of interaction with her.
Raj, Howard and Bernadette quickly got up and headed out the door after Leonard and Penny, Raj and Howard providing a quick good-bye, while Bernadette just hung on Howard's arm looking at him, which he enjoyed immensely.
Raj, noticed Bernadette's actions, too, so as the door closed behind them, Sheldon's excellent hearing barely made out Raj's statement to Howard as they left, "Howard, if you and Bernadette think you are going to make out in the back of my car, I'll drop you right off and you can walk home." making Sheldon give a little huff in disgust.
Amy, who was still looking at him, especially now that everyone left, kept smiling, "Sheldon are you getting tired, too?" her emphasis on the words "tired" and "too" being very suggestive to any normal man.
Sheldon just nodded, "Yes, it is my bedtime." then as an afterthought, "It is a good thing that you live her Amy, you are in no condition to drive home tonight." his last words obviously being very critical of her condition.
Amy let out a small inaudible sigh, "Yes, that is an advantage of living here." Amy agreed while thinking 'it would be nice if sleeping with my boyfriend was another advantage', before she got up and walked towards the hall to her bedroom, just turning her head to look at him before disappearing down the hall, "I'll let you use the bathroom first, since are quicker than me."
Sheldon nodding, happy she was giving him priority in the bathroom, "Thank you, Amy."
Amy stopped for a second and just looked at him before responding, "Your welcome, cuddles." before she resumed her walk to her room and disappeared down the hall, a big smile on her face.
Sheldon just frowned, and quietly mumbled under his breathe, "I'm not a cuddles!" before getting up himself to get ready for bed.
Penny hung on Leonard all the way down the stairs to their apartment, and immediately started to undress them both as soon as their apartment door was closed and locked, surprising Leonard with her eagerness to fool around. However, he learned long ago to not question these sudden times of friskiness from her and to just keep his mouth shut as not to screw things up, especially tonight because ever since she had sat down in his lap, he had been lusting for her, too. He was still a little amazed though that she was able to remove both their clothes before they even got passed the living room couch and that it led to them both naked on the couch with Penny on top, forgoing foreplay, and immediately getting down to business, literally.
It was unexpectedly, to Leonard, over very quick, he had been very turned on over Penny's flirtiness, since returning after Girls Night, and her lustful actions as soon as they got into the apartment, so her just getting on top of him and immediately taking him inside her, was a new surprise for him. Then the sexy moan she made, upon taking him all in, only encouraged him to just do anything she wanted, so he offered no resistance when she took his hands, to put them on her breasts, placing his thumbs on her erect nipples and giving him a little encouragement to fondle them. What then happened was what Leonard would jokingly think was "wham-bam-thank-you-mam", as Penny ground her hips into him before hopping down on him with increased intensity, until she suddenly stiffened, let out a couple of swear words, then shuttered before dropping down against him. It was over so suddenly that Leonard was amazed, however he wasn't really concerned that she got off without him, the realization that he had the ability to satisfy her before he completed, actually making him feel more masculine and the feeling of her warm naked body now against his, tired and sated from sex, only making him happy he could do that with her. He couldn't help himself from feeling extremely fortunate, she was the most perfect girl in the world and she chose to be with him, she was not only beautiful outside but had a beautiful soul that made him love her even more. As they both now laid there, him happy with his feelings, he thought how she seemed like sunshine when she entered a room and how they could talk and keep each other company for hours without even trying, she was friendly, witty and sarcastic at the same time and no matter how much he told her she never understood how smart she really was and how much he was amazed by her. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever see himself with someone like her, much less laying there now, on their shared couch, their naked bodies against each other after sharing such intimacy together. He felt so incredibly happy and it made him kiss the side of her head and then nuzzle his head against her, with all the love he had for her.
Penny was trying to recover from the mind-blowing sex she just experienced, it wasn't the first time or the biggest release she had with Leonard, but it was definitely up there with intensity, she thought as she laid naked against him relaxing, coming down from her high. She knew she had previously had sex with many guys, probably as many as Sheldon told Amy, when they first dated and she drove them, and most of them gave her the physical satisfaction close to what Leonard had just given her now, however, it was times like this that she realized Leonard also gave her more. There was an emotional satisfaction that Leonard gave her during and after sex that no other man had given her, even Kurt who she had lived with for a couple of years, with Leonard sex was not only satisfying and fun, it also was deeply personal and intimate and left absolutely no regrets. It wasn't even sex with him, it was making love because she knew in her heart, he loved her and she knew she loved him so their copulating involved more of the feelings of two people in love than the physical release that she had experienced so many times before with other guys. Just the little kiss he gave her now and his head rubbing against hers made her know she was loved and special to him, making her love him more, because it was after the physical act of sex that Leonard really shined, above every other man she had known, he had been the only man she had known that still made her feel that love and knowing she was special. Even now, as she laid in his arms, the warmth of his body against hers making her feel so good, she knew she wanted to be in bed with him, held by him and feel the security of being protected by him, it reminded her that even Kurt who was twice Leonard's size and had sometimes held her, could actually engulf her against his body, never made her feel so safe and secure as Leonard did when he held her at night.
So, after several of minutes just lying there, giving herself time until she felt calmed enough from their love making, she spoke to him, "Maybe we should get cleaned up and go to bed." she softly whispered near his ear.
Leonard gave her a very lite chuckle, "We might get a little cold being naked on the couch without blankets, so that is probably a good idea."
Leonard actually had to help her up, support her and shower with her, not because she drank too much that night but because she really did feel wore out from their lovemaking, so when they finally went to the bed, Penny just dropped her towel from her shower and crawled under the covers, just looking at Leonard as she covered her naked body and pouting at him. "Leonard, I'm cold."
Leonard just smiled, she was so adorable, especially the way she was acting right now, so he quickly joined her and scooped her into his arms, her grabbing on to him to help him hold her. They then went through several minutes of cuddling, nuzzling each other and kissing before settling down, Penny now warm due to her have laying on Leonard, her head on his chest. "I love you, Leonard."
Leonard smiled, thinking how much he loved that she said those three words so freely now. "I love you, too."
Penny smiled, because she was happy and she knew that when Leonard said 'I love you' he wasn't saying it because he had to, he said it because he meant it. This feeling, his warm body against her and the afterglow from their making love, all put Penny into her happy place and it was shortly after she drifted off to sleep.

Penny and Leonard's lives had again settled into a routine with both their work and social life, which was actually very comfortable for both of them, especially since they had each other each evening and slept with each other each night. They had been mixing it up with their friends on their weekly get togethers for dinner and now they had found time for some formal nights together where they actually dressed up and the host made dinner for all of them. They had had one at their apartment, too, it was just a good thing that Leonard knew how to cook a few things, though she did help and was learning to cook a few things herself. She could actually make decent hamburgers and French Fries, after Amy showed her how to cook the hamburgers on a 'George Foreman' grill, which she immediately ordered online, and how to cook the fries in an air frier, which she ordered along with the grill. It made her whole week, when she made Leonard hamburger and fries for dinner one night, when he came home later than her, and he liked it so much he even asked her for seconds.
Penny hadn't really realized how comfortable she had gotten in her life with Leonard until one night while she was having a 'girl's night' with Bernadette and Amy, when she found herself staring at the glass of wine in her hand. It was then that she realized that it had been the first glass of wine she had drunk in over a week and it surprised her that she also realized that her wine consumption had decreased, her not even remembering the last time she had to stock up on wine at her and Leonard's apartment. "Hmmm."
"What's up." Bernadette asked after hearing her friend.
"Nothing, I guess." Penny quickly answered, then as she looked back at her friends and their curious stares, she knew she had to say more. "It is just that I haven't had wine in a while."
"ARE YOU PREGNANT!" Amy quickly asked in excitement.
"NO!" Penny quickly shot back.
"Maybe your liver is trying to tell you something." Bernadette added with a giggle, her already on her third glass of wine.
"MY LIVER IS FINE!" Penny not told her short blonde friend. They both could be pains in the asses when they drank too much, Penny thought, but then again, she seemed to only notice when she wasn't as inebriated as them.
"AWW." Amy now answered dejected.
Penny looked at her, "What, because my Liver is damaged or because I'm not pregnant?"
"You're Liver is damaged?" Amy now said in shock, making Bernadette giggle.
"NO!" Penny firmly responded. This last couple minutes of talking to her friends making her realize that both girls were past their third glass of wine each while she was just finishing her first. They were definitely feeling the wine now while she was not feeling any different, which was a surprise to her that she wasn't ahead of them. She was so not use to being the sober one of the group, they usually were all equally plastered when they indulged, though she thought this might be a good time to ask Bernadette some questions she had been thinking about.
"Bernadette, how are things going being married to Howard, now that it has been about a year." Penny quickly asked before she got asked anymore questions about her Liver and being pregnant.
Bernadette got a wishful smile on her face, "It has been wonderful, being married to my hottie astronaut husband."
"I just bet you like his big rocket." Amy quickly responded.
Penny looked at Amy wide eyed, wondering if she always talked like this when drunk and had she been so drunk before with them that she didn't notice, but now hearing it, it did gross her out. "Bernadette, don't answer that, I don't want to know any more about Howard's rocket."
Bernadette giggled, "Open the shuttle bay doors, Spock." she then said trying to imitate Capt. Kirk while spreading her legs to emphasize what she meant.
Penny rolled her eyes, while Amy giggled. "Okay, we get what you mean, you can close the shuttle bay doors." Penny told Bernadette, before thinking her friends were worse that two truck drivers when they got drunk, again wondering if she was like this too when she was drunk with them.
"If we were lesbians, we would be fondling each other's naked bodies, by now." Amy now blurted out, making Penny look back at her again wide eyed.
"Yeah, but that is what we have the guys for, besides I like Howard's rocket more that one of those silicon substitutes." Penny now turned to Bernadette wide eyed.
"But you have a guy that has a rocket he is willing to launch, not a guy who keeps his on the pad in continuous count-down." Amy said with sadness.
Penny stared at both of them before finding her voice again. "Please, enough about the rockets."
"Why is there something wrong with Leonard's rocket?" Bernadette asked innocently while Amy looked at Penny, too, to find out the answer to this obviously very important question.
Penny looked at both of them, "I'm not going to discuss Leonard's rocket, with you two."
Amy just nodded, "Leonard's rocket must not be too big, not like Sheldon's rocket."
Bernadette perked up, "Does Sheldon have a big rocket?" then she frowned "but you said he hasn't launched it, so how do you know?"
"He was coming out of the bathroom one evening, after his shower, and he had actually forgot to bring his pajamas with him, so since I was just coming out of my room to go to the bathroom, I got to see him mostly naked, including his rocket. It was definitely aesthetically pleasing." Amy told them, then she added. "Sorry Penny."
"Gross." Penny said under her breath, then she added in Leonard's defense, quite loudly. "Leonard's rocket looks fine too and he definitely knows how to use it!" then as she thought about what she just blurted out she just heavily sighed, "God, I can't believe we are still talking about rockets. Please can we stop now?"
Both Amy and Bernadette now nodded, both a little surprised at Penny's outburst, however then Amy let out a heavy sigh, "We might as well, since I will probably never see Sheldon's again."
Penny sighed again, thinking the conversation just went from wild and gross to sad and weepy. She didn't know what to say now, thankfully Bernadette was as limited in her response due to the wine she had, "Don't worry Amy, I'm sure Sheldon will make a move in the future."
Amy sadly looked at them, "I thought so too, but the only thing he has done, except kiss me, is accidently grab my boob while we were on the couch watching a movie once."
Penny felt sorry for Amy, and since she thought Amy and Bernadette wouldn't remember most of what was said that night, she decided to add. "Well, I wouldn't assume it was an accidental boob grope, he did it to me once, when I was naked."
"You were naked with Sheldon and he grabbed you boobs." Amy blurted out, as now both girls were looking at her.
'Oh Crap' Penny thought, that really came out wrong, so to the girls. "No, no, we were not naked together. I fell in my shower one night while Leonard was away and dislocated my shoulder. Sheldon was the only one home so he had to get me out and help me get dressed to take me to the hospital, and when he was getting me dressed, he grabbed my boob."
Amy sighed, "So it was an accident, like mine."
Penny sighed, she had to try harder, "He also looked Amy and when I called him out on it, he said, "the Hero always looks"."
Bernadette then jumped in to the conversation, "See Amy, he does notice, you just have to give him time."
Amy slowly nodded, "I guess you're right. Though now I'm wondering if Sheldon has a thing for Penny instead of me. What if he decides he wants Penny and takes her."?
"What!" Penny blurted out in surprise. "What makes you think I would drop Leonard for Sheldon?"
"Well, Sheldon is tall, slim, smart and has beautiful blue eyes you can get lost in." Amy stated dreamily.
"Yeah." Bernadette added, only to get a glare from Penny.
"He is also arrogant, self-centered and selfish, looks like Pee Wee Herman, and a real jerk most of the time." Penny added.
"Yeah" Bernadette said again, now getting a glare from Amy.
"You can't say that about my sweet baboo." Amy now defended Sheldon.
"I'm sorry Amy, but I love Leonard, Sheldon doesn't get my motor running and just the thought of being intimate with him makes me think about it would be like having relations with my brother." Penny described, trying to alleviate Amy's concern about her and Sheldon. "You have to know, Amy, you're the only girl Sheldon wants."
"Yeah" Bernadette added, now having both Penny and Amy glaring at her.
"I guess you're right, it just gets to me sometimes that things between us are moving so slowing, I just get depressed sometimes." Amy said sadly.
"Let's go to Vegas." Bernadette blurted out.
"What, Now?" Penny asked is surprise, before calming and adding, "It is late Friday night, we couldn't leave till tomorrow and then we would have to come back immediately the next day."
Bernadette's smile diminished before she perked up again, "We could go next weekend, I could even get Friday off."
"That actually sounds like a fun idea, I could get Friday off, too." Amy stated, then both her and Bernadette looked at Penny.
"Really!" Penny exclaimed, still in surprise the conversation took this turn, only to get desperate nods from her friends.
Now Penny really needed a drink, so she downed her remaining glass of wine before looking back at her friends, "Okay."
It was just over an hour later that the guys came by to pick up the girls, them all knowing their girlfriends/wife were a little influenced by the alcohol they had because of the drunk texting they had been receiving the last half hour. Leonard and Howard were amused, Howard even a little excited because a drunk Bernadette turned into a very amorous Bernadette when they were alone, however, Sheldon was not so amused and kept blaming every text he got from Amy, on Penny. They all, however, were not prepared though for the girls as they opened Leonard and Penny's apartment door and saw the girls practically dancing around canting "Hoo, hoo, Vegas, Baby." before they launched themselves at their men, Amy even hugging a very rigid Sheldon who just kept shaking his head and give an accusatory look at Leonard who now had Penny hanging on him.
Everything broke up pretty quick after that, Bernadette saying a quick good-bye before practically dragging a willing Howard out the door and down the stairs to their car. Sheldon finally got Amy off him and lead her upstairs, but not before he gave a curt good-bye to Leonard and Penny, mostly Penny, just full of meaning, that his having to deal with Amy now was her fault. So, it was very quickly that Leonard and Penny found themselves alone again in the apartment, which actually at this point Penny was very happy about.
Leonard turned to Penny, who was still very possessively holding to his body, her arm around his waist. "So, what is this about Vegas."
Penny sighed. "Me and the girls are going to Vegas next weekend."
Leonard was surprised. "I'm not really commenting on your plans, but I do have to ask, this is sort of sudden, isn't it?"
Penny shrugged. "Yeah, I guess, but at least it got them to stop talking about rockets." She then suddenly realized she didn't want to say that, damn those three wines she had after the girls started on the rocket thing.
"Rockets?" Leonard asked with curiosity
Penny turned and pressed her body tightly against Leonard, "Honey, you have nothing to worry about." She then began to kiss him, before leading him to their bedroom, where she then enjoyed every minute from countdown and launch to recovery.
