Chapter 7: Tales of the Gang of Secrets
Authors notes: Based on the new season 4 episode in name only, comes a group chapter about 5 heroes all at once. This is a bit of a spoiler for what's coming up, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
"What do you mean the others aren't coming?" Ivan said, a little pissed at the fact it's just only him and Adrien here. Marco was there too, only to have helped Adrien out.
"Well, Juleka and Rose are on a date because they said they would have one today," Adrien said, showing him a pic of Rose and Juleka sharing an ice cream kiss. "And Luka said he wanted to spend more time with his dad." He then changed tabs over to a video of Luka and Jagged teasing a joint song.
"Well I'm glad you came today," Ivan said, crossing his arms. He knows that Adrien DOES have a history of missing band practice. And now the one day he shows up on time, thanks to Marco's dimensional scissors, Luka, Rose, and Juleka don't show up.
"To be fair, he IS pretty busy most of the time," Marco said, defending Adrien.
"Wait, Marco, how does a superhero like you know Adrien?" Ivan said, curious and borderline suspicious at this.
"Don't you know all famous people know each other," Adrien said, making it sound believable. "I mean, how else does Steven have connections with Jagged Stone." Ivan squinted his eyes at him, as he knew something was up, while unknown to the three of them, 5 pairs of eyes were looking down at the boys from the rooftop of the french school.
"Oh my god, those two are gonna blow it," Rena Rouge says, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"I think it's adorable, seeing these boys bond," Hoppy Bunny said, holding her hands together happily.
"Anyone else thinks it's kind of shitty you two lied to the boys about missing practice?" Queen Cobra said, pointing out the obvious.
"Kind of, but I think once we explain it to him, he'll understand," Violet Tiger said, as she looked back at Queen Cobra. She's blunt and honest, but she's right: Lying to Ivan COULD backfire.
"You have the ox miraculous, right Rena Rouge?" Multimouse politely asked the 'leader'.
"Yup," Rena said, pulling out a box from her flute. "Once we figure it out, this gang of secrets swoops in and helps recruit member number eight of the zodiac force."
"Fuck yeah," Queen Cobra said quietly.
"Wait, what did you call us?" Violet Tiger said, confused.
"Well, were a gang, and were intrusting Ivan with the secrets of the universe. Hence, gang of secrets," Rena said, explaining what she meant.
"Makes sense to me," Hoppy Bunny said, understanding it well.
"Shall we introduce him?" Rena said. "Remember, don't come down until you hear the codeword." The other 4 nods as Rena jumped down to the entrance and started walking into the light. "Hey Boys, mind if I join ya?"
The 3 boys see her as Adrien pretends to be shocked, Ivan actually is shocked, and Marco waved at her.
"Hey Rena," Marco said, waving as he grabs her hand as they pull each other into a hug,
"Yo, Marco," Rena said, hugging him respectfully. "How's it been, man?"
"Eh, it's been aight," Marco said. "Bored, not a lot of Akuma's to fight."
"I forgot you and her are teammates," Ivan said, still in shock that one of the legendary Protectors is here. "Seriously, what are you doing here."
"Nothing much, Ivan," Rena rouge said, leaning on the stairs to the upper floor. "Just out and about with my posse."
"Wait, posse?" Ivan said, borderline confused as 4 shadows lept down as all 4 of the other girls revealed themselves today.
"Oh crap, IS THIS TODAY?!" Adrien almost blurted out.
"WHAT'S TODAY!" Ivan blurted out, now furious. "HOW DOES ADRIEN KNOW!"
"Relax, big boy, we won't bite," Queen Cobra said. "Much."
"In fact, today's your LUCKY day," Hoppy Bunny said, tap dancing to him.
"Pretty much, we're trying our hand in recruiting friends we trust into superheroes," Violet Tiger said, helping him towards Multimouse and Rena Rouge.
"And your girlfriend here wants YOU to join us," Rena Rouge said as Multimouse hugs Ivan gently.
"...Mylene?" Ivan said, looking down towards this friend-shaped mouse-themed superhero that's hugging her. Multimouse looks up and nods gently.
"Sorry I mislead you for about a month or two," Multimouse said as she let go and was holding his hands. "But the others have been keeping their eyes out for potential candidates."
"And you picked me?" Ivan said, his rage sleuthing into a calm tone. "Why?"
"Because, Ivan," Mylene said as she kissed his lips gently. "I love you." Both Hoppy Bunny and Adrien were in awe of how adorable this was.
"So what happens now?" Ivan asked as Rena showcased the box to him.
"Ivan Bruel, I hereby present to you the Ox miraculous. With this, you shall be recognized as a member of the Protector, but there are some extra steps. Once those steps have been taken, do you promise to use this for the greater good. In exchange, you need to use it for what's true, just, and right. Plus one free punch at papillon's face, since you've been akumatized first."
Ivan thinks about this for a few seconds and takes it. he's scared, but if the Protectors trust him, then he can't say no to them.
"I knew you can do it," Adrien said.
"YOU OWE ME BIG TIME, ADRIEN!" Ivan roared out as he opened the box to showcase an ox-themed kwami.
"Greetings," he spoke to him. "My name is Stompp, and I'm your kwami companion." Ivan takes out his new miraculous, which turns out to be a nose ring.
"Hang on, is this a-"
"Clip on? Yes, it is."
