Last time: Kyr and Cien celebrated their marriage. This time with everyone!

Now: The newlyweds head off on their honeymoon.

Chapter 2- First Words

Tac forlornly wheeled down the ramp of the Shadow Runner after saying his goodbyes to his friend. QT was waiting at the foot of the ramp for him, and if he had a way to do so he would have glared at her. But instead she whistled something polite, and he whistled something polite back. And then they rejoined their earlier argument about whether the caf maker in the kitchen was a good conversationalist or not as they wheeled past the organics.

Sasha watched them go with a chuckle before looking to Cien. "Have you guys told him yet that he's not going?" She asked her quietly as they walked together towards the Shadow.

"Yeah. I think Kyr told him and he was just saying goodbye to the Shadow." Cien said with a smile, feeling a little bad for the droid.

"Ah make sense then," Sasha said as they came to a stop at the ramp. "So, are you excited to get away for a while just the two of you?" She asked her eagerly.

"Yes, a little." Cien said, slightly embarrassed.

Sasha smiled at her. "Oh it'll be fun. Just relax and enjoy the time alone with each other, okay?"

"Well, we have so far." Cien said, walking off towards the ship to put her bag at the foot of the ramp.

Sasha laughed at that. "I'd hope so," she joked before pulling Cien in for a hug. "Have a safe trip."

"Thanks." Cien said, returning the hug.

"Hey, do I get one?" Kyr asked as he came in wearing his flight suit and carrying his own bag. Everyone else came in with him as well.

"Of course, vod," Sasha said as she pulled away from Cien with a chuckle. She then came over and gave Kyr a hug. "Have fun and take care." She whispered to him.

"Here ya go little sister." Oppie said, handing Cien a container. "Have a good trip."

"Thanks!" Cien said, already guessing the contents.

Sasha pulled away from her hug with Kyr as Viran approached with Lana in his arms. The little girl waved and babbled at them.

"I think someone else wants to say bye," Viran said with a chuckle.

"Bye bye Lan'ika." Kyr said, as Cien put the container of cookies down.

"Be good." Cien added as she played with Lana's hands.

Lana giggled at that as she grabbed Cien's hands.

Viran then looked up at Kyr and Cien. "Have a fun and safe trip you two. Don't do anything I wouldn't do," he joked slightly.

"You be good, too." Cien said, looking up at him.

"Lan'ika will keep him in line." Kyr added. "See ya in a bit, Sport. Don't do anything fun while I'm gone."

Kitsu and Illara walked in at that point both carrying heavy parcels and handed them to Kyr and Cien. "There, an entire week's worth of actual food you just have to reheat. Better 'n relying on ration packs."

They both glanced down at the containers, "Oh, thank you." Cien finally said.

"But I was going to make chili." Kyr said forlornly, casting a subtle glance at Sasha.

Sasha gave him a pointed look. "The last thing either of you want on your honeymoon is someone getting sick from food poisoning. Now be grateful and get going," she said.

"Yes sarge." Kyr said heading to turn up the ramp.

"Bye guys!" Cien said as she went up the ramp as well and it started closing.

They dropped the food off in the galley and decided to get their bags put away later, excited to start their trip. Kyr powered the ship up and with one last wave out the cockpit canopy they rotated out and flew out of the hangar, accelerating up to orbit. Soon they were in hyperspace.

"So…" Kyr started, as the swirling tunnel out in front of them extended into the distance. "We have a day and a half till we get there. What should we do to keep busy?"

"I have some ideas…" Cien commented with a sly smile.

"Me too." Kyr said, standing up. "I'll go get the sabacc deck!" He said excitedly.

She just threw him an exasperated look, rolled her eyes and hid her face behind her palm. "Kyr…" She started.

"Shut up?" He filled in the rest.

"Yes." Cien replied, getting out of her seat and pointedly not kissing him as she pulled him by the hand away from the cockpit.

"Okay, let's try this again," Sasha said as she sat on the floor of the living room with Lana sitting in front of her playing with her letter blocks. "Say Mama."

Lana babbled as she stacked the blocks.

"No, Mama," Sasha said again. This time slower.

"Bla ba," Lana tried to say as she grabbed a block and stacked it on another.

"Yes, you're almost there," Sasha said excitedly. "Come on, baby, you can do it. Mama."

"Bla ba," Lana said again.

Sasha groaned as she rubbed her hands down her face.

"What are you doing?" Viran piped up from the entrance to the living room.

Sasha looked at him from between her fingers. He was walking over to her with an amused look on his face. She sighed and dropped her hands.

"You know how Lana has been babbling a lot more recently, like she's trying to talk," Sasha explained.

Viran nodded. "Yeah."

"Well I've been trying to help her," Sasha said as she looked at her daughter. "And she is so close! I can feel it. She just won't say it."

"Say what?" Viran asked as he sat down next to her, leaning back against the center table. "Mama?"

"Yes," Sasha grumbled.

"Have you tried other words?" He asked with a smirk.

"Yes," she answered simply. Viran gave her an unconvinced look. "No." She sighed. "Can you blame me for wanting our daughter's first word to be Mama?"

Viran chuckled. "No, but it might be easier getting her to say something like yes. Or no. Or Dada." He said as he grabbed a block that fell off the tower Lana was building and handed it to her.

"Oh I see how it is," Sasha said, looking at him with a narrowed gaze. "You just want her to say Dada first."

Viran laughed lightly as he wrapped an arm around Sasha, pulling her close. "I don't care what her first word will be. I mean would I be thrilled that she says my name first? Of course. But I'd also be happy if she said something else like Mama or cookie or Jedi or something like that," he said. "As long as we are there to experience it with her, I'd be happy."

"Alright, fair enough," Sasha said with a smile as she relaxed against him.

They both sat there as Lana continued to play with her blocks. It was crazy how much bigger she was getting and the fact she was almost a year old. Neither of them could believe it and they almost wanted her to stay like this for a bit longer. But they both knew at some point Lana was going to grow up and they were never going to be ready for that. They just had to make sure she was going to be ready to take on the galaxy and that they make her proud as her parents.

After a moment, she crawled over to them. She had started crawling after they had gotten back from rescuing the boys from the cartel. It nearly brought Sasha to tears seeing her army crawl across the floor as it meant that she would be walking soon. Sasha scooped her up into her arms and set Lana down in their laps. She babbled at them as she smiled up to them.

"What's up, kiddo?" Viran asked as he smiled at her in their laps.

"Bla ba," Lana tried to say. "Ba ha da. Da da."

Both Sasha and Viran perked up at that.

"What did you just say?" Sasha asked, making sure they didn't just hear things.

"Da da," Lana said again before placing her thumb in her mouth.

"She just said Dada," Viran gaped before beaming. "She said Dada!" He exclaimed as he scooped Lana up into his arms and shot to his feet. He pulled her in for a hug and kissed her little face.

"Sweetie! We're so proud of you," Sasha cheered as she leapt her feet and grinned at them. "Now say Mama."

"Dada," Lana repeated.

Sasha groaned. That deflated her ego a bit, not hearing her daughter's first word be Mama. But she was happy nonetheless. She smiled softly at her. "It's a start," she said as she brushed back her daughter's short brown hair. She then pointed a finger at Viran. "And don't you say a damn thing."

It was almost as if she could see the look on his face as he was grinning like an idiot who just won a bet. Viran laughed at that as he pulled Sasha in for a hug, holding both Lana and Sasha close.

"I won't," he said before kissing Sasha's temple. "But now we know she's a daddy's girl."

"We already knew that," Sasha chuckled lightly.

Viran chuckled too.

After a moment of holding them close, Viran continued to hold Lana as Sasha pulled away.

"We should go show Oppie," Viran added after a moment. "He's gonna freak out."

"And celebrate this big step for Lana," Sasha agreed as she placed a kiss on Lana's cheek before Viran's.

Viran smiled at her as he held Lana in one arm and grabbed Sasha's hand with the other, leading her away to go show the rest of the house.
