Chapter 4: The Awakening of Blades

Rex groans as he wakes up from his blissful sleep. 'That felt better than anytime I've slept before in my life' he thought.

It really felt wonderful throughout the entire night. He felt nothing but warmth. It was so comforting, too. He felt like he could sleep forever as long as he had the warmth. He wondered what could feel so nice. Not even Gramps of Corrine could produce such a feeling, especially when he was asleep.

He felt something in his arms, and it felt warm. Whatever he's holding must be the reason he felt so warm and comfortable last night.

Blinking his eyes to get a better view of whatever he's holding. His face instantly turned red from the image he saw. It was Pyra that he was hugging. Her face was also against his chest, with his arms wrapped around her body.

'OKAY REX YOU'RE HUGGING PYRA LIKE A STUFFED TOY AND IT'S DEFINITELY NOT APPROPRIATE! OH BY THE ARCHITECT, WHAT WILL CORRINE SAY?! HECK, WHAT WILL PYRA THINK?! SHE'LL PROBABLY THINK I'M A PERVERT!'. He internally freaks out.

He's never been in bed with a girl before in his life! Heck, he's never even had a crush before as well. He already had the Omnitrix during the age he should've had his first crush. But because of his situation and mental condition, he didn't have the luxury of living like a normal kid.

Now here he is in bed with a beautiful girl in his arms. Because of their position, her hair is just beneath his nose and she smelled… pleasant. It's the smell you would experience right next to a campfire with someone you care about right beside you. He didn't know how Pyra smelled this good, despite being in a ship for who knows how many years.

The more he inhaled her scent, the more he wanted to do it again. But he knew that this wasn't right and he shouldn't take advantage of Pyra in her sleep.

Carefully removing his arms from her body, he shakes her body to wake her up.

"Pyra, time to wake up, it's morning already," he whispered into her ear as gently as possible.

Pyra stirs in her sleep and lets out a groan. "Hmmn" signaling that she was waking up.

Watching her wake up was also a very cute sight for Rex. The way she turned around in her sleep, along with cute moans and groans, just made her more beautiful in Rex's eyes.

When Pyra finally opened her eyes. It took her a second to realize she was in bed with Rex. Her face turns red as she looks up at Rex. Stuttering, she said, "Oh-he-y-um... Rex… um, good morning".

Rex blushes too from how cute Pyra sounded when she's nervous. He swore no one should be this cute in Alrest or anywhere else in existence. Yet here it is something that cute exists in the universe. A part of him is really thankful for being able to see something like this. Though another part of him however is saying don't be a creep.

"Um, hey good morning… look, we should arrive at Gormott soon. So why don't we have some breakfast?". He suggests, hoping she wouldn't realize that he was staring at her when she was asleep.

Pyra nods since she was feeling hungry herself. "Oh, Rex, why don't I cook up breakfast?"

"Huh, you know how to cook Pyra?". He asked, surprised. He didn't think she knew how to cook, but this just shows what he knows about her.

She gets off the bed and replies. "Yeah, why don't you wake up Nia and Dromarch while I'm preparing breakfast."

She then walks away and starts heading towards the kitchen, looking for ingredients for a healthy breakfast.

Rex then lets out a yawn and gets up himself. He arrives at his washroom and looks at himself in the mirror. Looking down at his body, he realizes that there is a scar on the location where his heart should be. Most probably caused by Jin.

'Well, that's not going to disappear. Oh, I hope Corrine won't make a big deal out of this. It's already bad enough that she worries for me ever since I kept the Omnitrix when I had the option to take it off.'

Don't get him wrong, he loves his aunt. But he's not the same naïve 10-year-old boy who didn't realize just what was on his wrist.

A part of him envied his younger self. Back then he was so carefree when he first gained the Omnitrix. Thinking about being a hero like Addam was easy now that he had a device that was unlike anything in all of Alrest. But that carefree boy was shattered when three demons came and destroyed his innocence.

'I won't let myself fail, as I did four years ago. When... I lost him, I also made my trauma worse, and it was all my fault.' He thought negatively. A part of him wished he could take back the mistake that cost him his favorite form.

Shaking his head to get rid of his past. Rex quickly freshens up and heads out of the bathroom. Walking towards his closet, Rex searches through his clothes until he finds his salvager suit. After he puts on the suit, he heads out of the house to find Nia.

He finds her not asleep but awake. She was doing some morning stretches with Dromarch. He couldn't help but notice how in the sync the two were. He wondered if a Driver and Blade should be like this. Back at the battle yesterday, he and Pyra worked together. But comparing both of them to how coordinated Nia and Dromarch are right now is like comparing a piranhax to a lexos.

He thinks the best time he had synchronization with Pyra was when he was Heatblast. This made sense given that Pyra is a fire element blade and Heatblast is his strongest fire alien. But if he were to use a form like Wildvine yesterday with Pyra, he would only get hurt since plants don't exactly mix with fire. He decides to spend some time with Pyra later and discuss which forms would be best to work with her.

"Morning, Rex. How was sleeping with Pyra? I hope you did nothing inappropriate to her. Otherwise, I'll have to fear what you might do to my body as well." He looks up and sees Nia grinning at him cheekily.

He blushes from the memory of him hugging Pyra and smelling her hair. But a part of him is ashamed of himself for even doing that to her. Don't get him wrong, he thinks he's developing a crush on Pyra given how kind and beautiful she is. But he's not sure if Pyra would even return his feelings. If she didn't, it would only make the relationship between the two awkward and strained.

He quickly pushes those thoughts away from his head. "Well, don't worry I won't do anything bad to you girls, I promise. I just came out to tell you guys breakfast will be ready soon."

Nia and Dromarch nod and head towards the center of Azurda's back to waiting for their breakfast.

Pyra emerges from the house carrying a large tray holding pan-fried tartari. Upon seeing his favorite food, a wide smile forms on Rex's face.

"Chah alright, my favorite food is pan-fried tartari," he exclaimed.

A look of surprise appears on Pyra's face before it turns into a smile. "Oh, Rex, I didn't know this was your favorite. But I'm glad there's a lot of it so dig in as much as you want."

'I didn't expect to have the same favorite food as Addam,' Mythra said in surprise.

'I know, but this is great. Say didn't you want to learn how to make pan-fried tartari to impress Addam? But in the end, all you gave him was a stomach ache.'

'h-h-hey don't bring that up, it's embarrassing. Besides, Addam had no taste. I bet if I made something Rex would like it!'

'Oh? So you're going to come out just to cook something for Rex?'

'Never mind.'

Mythra wondered why she said that. She swore to never come out, that's why she created Pyra. But after feeling how warm Rex was last night, she's been having this strange feeling in her chest and a need to be closer to Rex as well. She's never felt anything like this before, and the closest thing she can compare to is her bond with Addam.

The group eats their meal and as they finish Rex pulls out his Omni-plate. Activating the Plate, he sees they're only about half an hour away from Gormott.

Turning to his friends, he asks, "we're only about a couple of minutes from Gormott. So, do you guys have any more questions from yesterday?"

Nia had a look of deep thought before snapping her fingers. "Actually, yeah, what's it like transforming into an alien, anyway?"

She wonders if it's anything like her transforming from her gormotti form to her Blade form. In her blade form, she can feel and see the ether energy in the surrounding area. While her gormotti form is just like that of a regular gormotti with no attributes of her blade powers.

"Mmm," Rex hums. It's honestly hard to explain in his opinion.

Transforming isn't something you could describe unless you experience it yourself. After several more seconds of thinking, Rex finally has an answer. "Well, it's hard to explain, but when I transform, I get this rush of energy. Then I feel my DNA itself changing, but it's not painful at all. It feels kinda nice. When I fully transform, I feel like me, but not me at the same time. It's almost like what if I was born as that species."

Everyone had a look of intrigue on their faces, especially Pyra and Nia.

This time it's Pyra who asked her question. "So, Rex, what would you say is your strongest form?"

This made Rex pause. He knows which form is his strongest, but it's also his most useless form at the same time. The question was, should they know about it? After a bit of thought, he decides they don't need to know it. Instead, he'll just tell them the strongest form he could use.

Activating his Omnitrix, he scrolls through his forms until he finds it. "This is my strongest form, Way Big."

"Huh guessing from his name he's big then," Nia asked

"Yep, but I don't use him a lot since he's not the most discreet alien I have."

Rex sees Gormott off in the distance. "Well, we're arriving at Gormott. Hey Gramps, can you dock at an unpopulated area? I don't want to pay for the dock fees."

"Sure thing, Rex, just be careful when going to Torigoth," Azurda warned.

Rex waved his hand "we'll be fine, gramps. Besides, I've dealt with worse over the past years, no need to worry."

His friends all looked at each other in confusion. He's dealt with worse over the past years?

Gormott fields

After getting off Azurda. Rex and his friends go through a forest that would take them to the fields of Gormott.

Upon arriving at the fields, everyone had a look of amazement on their faces. No matter how many times anyone sees it. Gormott is one of the most beautiful places in all of Alrest. However, there is one strange thing. Off in the distance, a mountain, or at least what's left of it, seems to clash with the image of Gormott's beauty.

"Hey Nia, do you know what happened to that mountain? It doesn't look like a natural disaster destroyed it." Pyra asks.

Nia furrowed her brows "No, I don't. In fact, no one knows. All I know is that 5 years ago something like an explosion went off on top of that mountain. But strangely enough, there was no evidence of an explosive being used so it's a mystery."

Rex lets a strained smile appear on his face. He knew what happened, and it involved him. 'Oh, I know what happened and boy, did I fear for my life back then. I still can't believe Vilgax was that strong. He shattered that entire mountain with a single punch.' he grimly thought.

The alien warlord was one of the most powerful and terrifying foes Rex had ever faced in his life. At first, Rex treated him like a common threat. Like some kind of bounty hunter that was trying to steal the Omnitrix. But after seeing that monstrosity's relentless nature and power. Did Rex learn just how important his Omnitrix is and what it means to feel genuine fear.

Another thought goes through his mind as well. 'Should I use the Omnitrix in public from now on? I mean Alrest isn't ready for the existence of aliens. But if I want to protect Pyra, then I need to use all of my strength,' he thought. This was a tough choice in his opinion. He wants to protect Pyra, Nia, and Dromarch with all his power. But the problem is his power could end up causing more trouble than it's worth.

"Oh, Rex, are you okay? It looks like something is troubling you."

He looked up and saw Pyra having a worried look on her face, and he mentally scolded himself for worrying her.

"I'm fine just thinking about whether I should use the Omnitrix in public from now on or not," Rex said.

Nia has a confused face at Rex's answer. "Wait, but didn't you use it back in the battle with Malos?" didn't he already use it in public by using it in front of her old gang.

"Yeah, I used it back there, but that's because it was just us and them, so I had little to worry about. However, let's say I used it in front of someone important, like someone from Uraya or Mor Ardain. Words would reach their respective rulers, and the truth of extraterrestrials would be known. Alrest isn't ready for that yet. Our tech level is only level 2-3." he explained.

Dromarch came forward "I'm sorry, master Rex, but tech level?" he questioned

Rex nods. "Yeah, technology is graded by a level. There are 20 known tech levels in the universe. Alrest however has a strange problem regarding its tech level."

Pyra had a look of intrigue. "What kind of strange problem?" she asked.

It was fascinating for her to learn that aliens exist. Now there's also a way for them to measure how advanced technology is by levels. Honestly, a part of her wants to explore and see just how vast the universe is. She didn't know where that thought came from. Maybe it was from Rex. People did say the Driver can influence their blade.

Rex gives them a lesson on Alrest's place in the universe and its tech level. "Well, ether rifles are energy weapons and that would make them level 5. But it's not a true laser, so that downgrades the tech level. Plus ether is an energy source only unique to Alrest."

"Hold on, what do you mean unique?" Nia asked.

Rex replies. "Well, Alrest is the only planet to have ether. No other planet in the universe has any ether. This makes Alrest famous for it but our low-tech level prevents aliens from legally coming to our world."

"Master Rex, I have to ask. Aliens may not come to our world?" Dromarch asked the Omnitrix wielder.

He nods "Yeah, there's a law saying that aliens cannot come to worlds with primitive tech. Because of the possibility of that world reverse engineering any advanced technology."

Unfortunately, that didn't stop bounty hunters and warlords like Vilgax from coming to Alrest. The Omnitrix's power is too irresistible. Almost any being in the universe would break the laws that prevent higher-tech civilizations from interfering with lower-tech civilizations.

Suddenly a thought flashes through Nia's face. "Wait, if that's true then why do you have the Omnitrix then?"

Wasn't Rex breaking the law by having the Omnitrix?. Shouldn't he be arrested, thrown in jail, or be put on trial for breaking the law?

Shaking his head, Rex answered. "I'm a bit of a special case; the universe recognizes me as a hero. Plus the creator of the Omnitrix entrusted the device to me."

Rex used to face a lot of opposition from a lot of leaders who believed he wasn't worthy of the Omnitrix. But after Azmuth's approval and saving the entire universe from the Highbreed. The number of worlds demanding for the Omnitrix can be counted on one hand now.

Everyone had a look of intrigue and confusion. Nia voiced their thoughts. "The creator gave you the watch, and the universe sees you as a hero?"

Rubbing his temples, Rex really didn't want to talk about that, since it was a long story. Especially since said story also tells how the universe was about to be destroyed by the Omnitrix's self-destruct mode. There's also the other story. About how the universe was about to be destroyed again. Only this time it's from a supposedly genocidal race.

"Look, it's a long story. Can we please talk about something else while we're going to Torigoth." Rex pleads with annoyance in his tone.

Seeing how annoyed he was, the group leaves that subject for another time and heads their way towards Torigoth.

Torigoth center

Torigoth wasn't the most advanced city in Alrest. But It was one of the most beautiful. The gormotti live alongside nature so the town had a fresh smell like a forest. Every house in Torigoth is composed of wood. However, there is one thing that stands out in the rural town. On the far side of the town is a military base of ardanian origin.

Rex knows that Mor Ardain conquered Gormott many years ago. And he doesn't blame them. Given the state of Mor Ardain's titan, the people are getting desperate. Many say that the titan will fall into the cloud sea this year or the next.

Walking up to the town square the group sees a rally of gormotti surrounding some ardainian soldiers.

"Who has the courage to join the empire's army?! Your strength today will make a stronger Mor Ardain tomorrow! The salary is excellent and you'll receive benefits too! Become famous and you might become a noble. For emperor Nial for Mor Ardain!" The lead Ardainian soldier shouted.

Rex looks on with interest and curiosity. "Hmm, what's going on over there?" he asked.

"Driver recruitment," Nia answered.

"The pool of potential Drivers is shrinking. So the Ardainian military decided to see if there are any potential Drivers in Gormott." Dromarch added.

Rex became confused, and he asked them. "So wait, not everyone can become a Driver?"

Nia told him. "Just see for yourself and you'll get your answer" sometimes it was easier just to show than tell.

He looked on ahead, and he saw a young male gormotti around his age stepping forward. However, he's being restrained by what looks like his siblings who pleaded with him to not become a Driver.

A much larger Gormotti man pushes the young boy and his siblings away. The Man proceeds forward and arrogantly declares. "All right, Blade, time to wake up and make me famous!" the man reaches forward and touches the core crystal.

Something was wrong, though Rex could sense it in the air. When the man-made contact with the crystal, it glowed dangerously, and the man's body convulsed. Suddenly the man screamed in pain and blood exploded from the man's body. After a couple of seconds, the man dropped to the ground, dead.

Nia just stared nonchalantly and sighed. "That's what happens when someone has no potential." She's seen this so many times it doesn't even faze her anymore.

Rex had a look of disgust and horror on his face. Sure he's seen some pretty horrific stuff, but death was a sensitive topic to him. He's only ever taken one life, and that's still something he wished he could take back. Even if that thing ripped apart his favourite form.

Pyra also had a look of shock and horror on her face. Even though that man was rude, he didn't deserve to die. What if he had family or friends who were waiting for him to come back home.

"Ha, all bark and no bite! Anyone else?" one soldier called. No gormotti from the group looked like they wanted to try after the brutal death.

The young gormotti from earlier however stepped forward and proclaimed he would become a Driver for his family. When he touches the core crystal, Rex senses something just like before, but it's different this time. Instead of rejecting the boy. The crystal accepts him and in a flash of gold light, a lance of ether appears in the boy's hand. A common humanoid male Blade manifests behind the boy. There's something wrong with this blade though. Unlike Dromarch or Pyra, who holds this spark of life in them. This Blade had an empty look in his eyes, almost like a robot.

'I never realized how unique rare Blades are. I've only seen a few but I've never interacted with them besides battling. Well, there is Adenine… but she's with Azmuth on Galvan prime helping him research into Blades and I don't really talk to her that much.' Rex thought while trying to keep a straight face from how unnerving the Blade seemed.

The creator of the Omnitrix stated he was interested in Blades and the ether energy that they can draw power from. Hence why the old man has a Blade to study on and with. Heck, now that Rex thought about it, Azmuth said he used a machine to awaken Adenine. Because of this Adenine had no Driver so she was not anchored to this world like a normal Blade. He really had to give the old guy credit for his title of being the smartest person in 5 galaxies.

An alley in Torigoth

After the Driver recruitment. The group headed deeper into town to find some shops for supplies.

"So that's how a Blade awakens, huh?" Rex said to break the silence.

"Yes, we Blades start formless only as a core crystal in this world. But with the touch of a potential Driver can we be awakened." Pyra explained with a smile while bringing a hand to her chest.

Dromarch adds in his words. "Blades come in many shapes and genders, some aren't even humanoids like me."

Nia expanded the concept. "Some say the Driver's nature influences the Blades."

Rex has a look of thought from all the information. 'Pyra was already awake when I found her, though. Is her Driver still alive? Or is it because she is this Aegis?' He wondered what made Pyra so special compared to other Blades. Is she more powerful than your average blade or is it something to do with her biology?

"Halt!" the group hears, and they turn around to see a group of soldiers surrounding them. One soldier stepped forward and stated. "Silver-haired gormotti girl and white tiger Blade. No doubt about it, she's a member of Torna." While looking at Nia.

Rex turned to Nia and gained a look of shock on his face. 'Huh?! Torna?! As in the same Torna, I was going to hunt down later. Nia's a part of them? Well, this makes things awkward.' he thought numbly. He didn't expect Nia to be part of the terrorist organization that he was going to hunt down. Hopefully, she doesn't find out about it.

Sensing a fight, Rex instinctively raised his hand to the Omnitrix before pausing. 'Wait, I can't transform in front of them. They're part of the Ardanian military. I'll just expose my secret if I transform now.' He thought while lowering his hand from the Omnitrix. This was really annoying, in his opinion. Before all he had to do was find somewhere to hide, then transform. But here, he doesn't have that luxury.

Another one of the soldiers pulls out a poster. It looked like… Nia and Dromarch? But not like the two were side by side on the poster. It looked more like someone fused the two together. So it looked like Nia's body but with Dromarch's face. Whoever made that poster should be fired from Rex's point of view.

"Yeah, she looks just like her poster," said Soldier #1

'Is this guy blind?' Rex thought incredulously. How can anyone mistake that for Nia? Plus, she is way too cute to look like that.

Nia looks like she's about to murder everyone in the vicinity. "What the bloody hell is that who drew that!?" This made Rex step a couple of feet away from her. After all, nothing is scarier than a scorned lady.

Another one of the Soldiers notices Rex. "You boy, you're a Driver what's your number?" he demanded.

Rex rubs the back of his head nervously "Um I don't have one. I've only been a Driver for less than 24 hours." He really wanted to avoid a fight, if possible.

Taken by surprise from Rex's response, the Soldier offered. "Well, help us capture this criminal and we'll take you to Indol to get your number free of charge."

Rex's eyes gained a hard look at this. Even if Nia was a criminal, she was still his friend, and he doesn't abandon his friends. Making up his mind, Rex stands in front of Nia, who had a look of surprise at his action. "Look, even if she is a criminal she's also my friend so you'll have to go through me to get her." he challenged while drawing Pyra's sword.

Nia just looks at Rex in shock. 'He's defending me?' She didn't think anyone would stick up for her besides Dromarch. Slowly, a smile forms on her face. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to stay with Rex.

The group of soldiers all raised their weapons, and their commander stated. "Then we'll put the both of you under arrest in the name of Mor Ardain!"

Nia and Rex nod at each other and charge forward towards the soldiers with their Blades.

The battle, if it could even be called that. Was an utter stomp against the Ardainian soldiers. Not that the soldiers were weak but comparing ordinary people to Driver is like comparing a bunnit to a rampaging Armu. Almost every soldier was on the ground, moaning in pain. Except for the leader, who is named Paudraig. He was kneeling on the ground exhausted before he too fainted from the battle. Though he shouted out "Don't forget me!" for some reason.

Seeing their opportunity to escape, Rex and his friends made a run for it before more reinforcements came. However, Rex felt something shift in the air and grabbed Nia and pulled her back. Just in time, too. Right where Nia was standing, an enormous wall of azure flames erupts from the ground. The flames themselves were so intense they felt even stronger than the ones Pyra makes.

Rex had a look of horror on his face. He only knew one blade capable of creating blue flames of this intensity, and he hoped he was wrong. 'Oh, by the architect, please don't let it be her. If she is here, then I can't hold back against her.' He prayed with every fiber in his being.

"Such a racket… I hoped I would've been able to relax and enjoy the silence." A soft Femmine voice cuts through the air confirming Rex's fears.

He turned his head slowly and saw her. A beautiful woman with a curvy body wearing a beautiful and elegant azure dress that was also provocative. Her hair long and azure coloured, and it was styled in twin hair buns. In both her hands were two rapiers that generated such intense heat, Rex could feel them even from this distance. Strangely enough, the woman could see even with her eyes closed.

Rex had a grim expression on his face. "It's Brighid the jewel of Mor Ardain," he said with fear in his voice. He slowly raised his hand to Omnitrix again before pausing.

'This isn't good. I'm not strong enough to fight her as a human. I can't transform either. If I do word would reach her Driver the special inquisitor Morag. If word reaches her, then the emperor of Mor Ardain will also hear of it and all of Alrest.'

This was one of the worst-case scenarios for him. He didn't want Alrest to know of alien life by transforming. But he also didn't want to put his friends in danger, either. He's caught right between two difficult options and he didn't like both of them.

"You're a well-informed boy," the azure beauty complimented. She then scans over the group and sees a member of Torna among them. However, what really caught her eye were Pyra and Rex. She realized the emerald core crystal on Pyra's chest, signifying that she was the Aegis. She also noted her bond to Rex showing that he was her Driver. But then she noticed the core crystal on his chest.

`That's… impossible blades cannot become Drivers unless...' A dark thought goes through her mind and her face darkened.

"So not only has the Aegis awakened but who would've thought her Driver is flesh-eater?'' She calmly said with malice in her voice.

Nia has a face of realization once she knew what Brighid was getting at. 'Oh shit.' she forgot there's a chance they could recognize Rex as a flesh-eater because of Pyra sharing her core crystal with him.

Rex looked confused at the insult directed at him. "What are you talking about, what's a flesh-eater?" he asked, confused. He's never heard of the term flesh-eater before, whether it was out or in Alrest.

Brighid's calm face turned murderous for a second before going back to normal. "So now you deny the fact that you consumed your driver just to escape returning to your core! You disgust me! We Blades are supposed to support our Drivers not murder them!" She then rushes forward, flinging her rapiers and transforming them into whip swords towards Rex.

Rex brought his sword to guard the first strike, but it left him wide open for the second one that was aimed at his leg. The pain was so great he almost dropped to the ground from it. Hearing a scream of pain behind him. Rex turns around and sees Pyra, who was clutching her leg in the exact same area where he had been struck.

'Is Pyra feeling the same pain I do? But why?' this shouldn't happen what could cause him and her to share sensations. Looking down at his core crystal, he then realized the cause of their link. Pyra gave up half of her life force for him, and this must be the effect of her doing so.

Gritting his teeth to power through the pain Rex flares up his sword and unleashes a slash of fire towards Brighid who responds with a similar attack. 'Dammit! You mean If I get hurt then Pyra gets hurt too!? Ok, you know what's more important to you Rex your friends! To protect them even if it means exposing your secret!" he thought. Raising his hand to his Omnitrix he activates it and finds the alien he wants. 'Alright let's see how Brighid likes Humungousaur' he slams down on the core and a flash of light illuminates the area causing those present to shield their eyes.

"Water hazard! What?! I wanted Humungousaur Omnitrix!"

Standing in place of Rex is a red, mollusk-like humanoid. With yellow eyes and a hood-like shell protecting its head. The palms of the Alien had holes in them. It also covered the arms and heels of the alien in spikes.

Species: Orishan (water hazard)

Homeworld: Kiusana (Andromeda Galaxy)

Powers and abilities: Hydrokinesis, Hydrokinesis flight, moisture absorption, water whips, gas immunity, underwater breathing, radiation immunity, enhanced durability, strength, agility, and reflexes.

Description: subject's water blasts are strong enough to punch through solid steel with ease and can change the temperature of its water. Because of its exoskeleton, the orishan feels little to no pain. But the armor has a limit to its durability and is vulnerable to energy attacks.

Gazing upon the strange alien, Brighid actually opens her eyes in shock. "What-what are you!?" she shouted, losing her composure. Is this boy really a flesh-eater? She thought he was a humanoid blade that became a flesh-eater. So, how did he transform into this krabble like creature?

Rex sighs in annoyance. "Oh well, I guess this guy works better here, anyway." Raising his hands, he fires two jets of water towards

Brighid, whose guard is let down from the transformation. She gasped in pain when the liquid hit her, making her fall to her knees, and she could feel her powers waning from the constant stream of water. As she is being pelted by water, a voice cuts through the air.

"Now Poppi!"

"Yes, masterpon noponic storm!"

To make her situation worse, a blade of earth ether in the shape of a cyclone hit the water pipe above her. This causes even more water to fall on top of her. She screams in agony from all the water. The firewall behind the group slowly dies down as Brighid loses her power.

The same voice from before called out. "Now friends follow Tora!"

Canceling his attack, Rex turns around and runs with his friends, following the voice that helped them.

Brighid slowly raises her head, trying to stay conscious from the double water attack. 'Who… what… are... you?' she then faints from losing all of her strength.

Hey sorry if I update a bit slow from now on. I've finally been playing Xenoblade 2. Also some personal stuff in my life as well. Anyway updates from now might take a few weeks depending on if I want to write or play the game. Now some of you might say Rex shouldn't have won so easily against Brighid. But Rex caught her off guard from his transformation and he transformed into an alien that uses her weakness.
