Caulifla and Kale What IF: Chapter Thirteen- "Smaller is Better?"
Caulifla's Hideout, Caulifla's Room (The Next Day)
Morning arrives and the sunlight begins to fill the hideout in a bright yellow glow. In Caulifla's room, Kale and Caulifla are still in bed, sleeping. After Kale had her nightmare, Caulifla decided on sleeping in her room for the rest of the night. Caulifla, on the other hand, starts to wake up from her long sleep. She blinks her eyes open, seeing the sunlight hit them. She yawns for a while until she realizes that something feels wrong. "Huh? Why does my pillow feel a lot more...bigger?" said Caulifla, as she hears some loud snoring from behind her. She slowly turns around, seeing an unbelievable sight. She sees Kale, but as a giantess. "Whoa! Kale is huge! What the-" said Caulifla, as she looks down, realizing that her clothes are now a whole lot bigger than she is. She tears a part of her white t-shirt, covering that around her naked body. She begins to crawl her way to Kale's giant head, to wake her up. She gets her to her ear enough that she yells straight into it. "Kale! Wake up! Can you hear me?!" said Caulifla, until she feels Kale's head begin to move. She jumps out of her ear, lands on the bed, and watches Kale get up from her sleep. Looking at her sister in arms like this is beyond reality. Why is Caulifla so small!? Kale stretches for a few seconds, until looking around the area. She begins to wonder where Caulifla is at. She later hears a small, squeaky voice from a near. It's faint, but she can't still hear it. She looks down while turning right, seeing a small Caulifla under her white shirt. "Caulifla! (Picks up Caulifla, while covering her) Why are you so...so..s-small!?" said Kale, confused as Caulifla is. "I don't know! I just woke up like this. You look like one of those giants from those movies!" said Caulifla. Kale thinks of a way for her sister to be back to normal size. She tells Caulifla that she'll call Cabba about the news, hoping that he will have a better solution to this. She puts Caulifla near a dresser, as she leaves the room to change. Meanwhile, Caulifla sees a reflection of her body in a shiny lamp, thinking of what shrunk her in the first place.
Twenty-Two Minutes Later… (Kitchen Area)
Kale: (Carries Caulifla in her hands) Oh! I don't know what to do with you, Caulifla! You're so small and we were supposed to have training today!
Caulifla: (Looks at Kale) Don't panic, Kale! I'll be fine. Just place me on the nearby table. (Points at the kitchen table)
Kale: O-Okay. (Places Caulifla on the table) What are we going to do about this? I can't have a small sister living here. What if some small animal attacks you? Or...what if something much bigger than you tries to eat you!? (Shakes in fear) I don't want to lose you!
Caulifla: KALE! (Looks at Kale) Don't panic! I'll be fine! Even though I'm as small as an action figure, I'm still myself. I can take care of myself pretty well. Come on, Kale! Nothing is going to happen to me. Promise!
Kale: (Makes a worried expression, while looking at Caulifla) A-Are you sure?
Caulifla: Of course I'm sure! I'll be fine! (Gives Kale the thumbs up and smiles)
Kale: O-Okay. I'm still going to fix this. Cabba might be able to find a solution. He's over in the living room, on the- (Sees Cabba sleeping on the couch) Oh...I forgot that he's still asleep from last night. Remember, Caulifla?
Caulifla: (sighs) Yeah, I remember! Just wait for him to wake up and-
Kale: Oh! I have to do some shopping! But first...(Walks to the fridge and pulls out some breakfast food) I have to make you and me some breakfast! After that, I'll go to the store and begin shopping. (Looks at Caulifla) Don't worry! Cabba will be in the hideout, once he wakes up from his sleep. Okay?
Caulifla: Okay, Kale.
While Kale is making breakfast, Caulifla thinks about what she said to her last night. She said that she was the queen of this place and no one could "overpower" her in power. "That's all that I could think about from last night. I don't remember anything that could have changed me into this. Maybe...I'm overthinking of this and everything is in my head." said Caulifla, before she feels Kale's footsteps coming towards her. She keeps her balance until a giant plate is placed in front of her. Kale places her breakfast on the table, while she places a small napkin on the side of her plate, which is meant for Caulifla. "CAULIFLA! TIME FOR BREAKFAST!" said Kale. In Caulifla's perspective, Kale's voice is monstrous, due to her new size, but in reality, her voice is normal. After breakfast, Kale gets dressed for the day, leaves a note besides Cabba, whenever he gets up, and leaves the hideout to the store. Meanwhile, Caulifla, who has a small tear from her white t-shirt her covering her body, thinks of a way of changing her clothes, while in this size. She looks at the living room, thinking that Kale might have some toy clothes for her to wear for the time being. So, Caulifla flies her way through the living room. While she flies through the room, she can hear Cabba's snores from a far distance, but in reality, she's just a few inches away from him. She ignores it, lands near a huge box, jumps onto the top of the box, and opens it, revealing a horde of toys and action figures. She goes through the box, trying to find a good pair of clothes to wear in her new size. She later sees a pink leather jacket, a white tank top, baggy purple camouflage pants, and some black boots from a female action figure. "Thanks, Kale for buying that nothing-good action figure. It came in handy!" said Caulifla as she strips down the action figure, jumps out of the box, and runs to the back of it so that she can change.
Caulifla's Hideout, Living Room (Ten Minutes Later)
Caulifla walks away from the giant box, in her new clothes. She is digging the clothes that she picked out from that action figure. She looks at Cabba, who's still asleep on the bed, making her angrier. "Do I have to wake up the idiot myself!? Ugh!" said Caulifla, as she flies to where Cabba is. She lands on his chest, which moves from his snoring. She tries to stay in balance, while she walks up to his face for a better hearing range. Once she gets to his chin, she takes a deep breath and lets out a big enough yell. "CABBA! WAKE UP!" said Caulifla. She looks at his face again, still seeing a sleeping Saiyan in front of her. She tries to do it again, but Cabba's snoring accidentally causes her to fall into his mouth. His mouth closes with Caulifla still in it. This causes Cabba to finally wake up from it, get off of the couch, cough his way into the kitchen, and cough out Caulifla. He later grabs a cup, pours some water, and then drinks it. "Ugh! What was that just now!? It felt like something was trying to crawl itself out of my mou- (Looks at Caulifla in the sink) C-Caulifla!?" said Cabba, now realizing that the "thing" that was inside of his mouth was Caulifla all along. She wipes the saliva off of her, before looking at Cabba with an even angrier expression. She tells Cabba that she's shrunk, Kale is off doing shopping, and can't find a solution as to why she's so small in the first place. Cabba takes a few seconds to figure out what Caulifla is making out. He thinks that Janet would be the most reliable person for this type of problem. He tells Caulifla that he'll take her to Janet at the Headquarters after Kale comes back from shopping. "That way she can turn your back to normal! Okay!?" said Cabba. Caulifla had to cover her ears, due to how big Cabba's voice is in her perspective. She nods her head, signaling that she understands the issue. Cabba picks up Caulifla out of the sink, walks out of the kitchen, and goes to the bathroom to freshen up a little. Meanwhile, Caulifla thinks of how horrible Cabba's mouth smelled, while she was in there. "It smelled like rotten meat. What did he eat last night!?" said Caulifla to herself, as she sits on the table, waiting for Cabba to be finished in the bathroom.
SDF Headquarters, Science Lab (Forty Minutes Later)
Janet: (Sees Caulifla) Hm...this is a different, yet similar situation that I have seen before. (Looks at Kale and Cabba) What happened yesterday that had caused this?
Cabba: (Shrugs his shoulders) We don't know. All we did was train, eat some dinner together, and went to bed. That seems to be it.
Kale: Well...(Rubs her chin) Caulifla did call a visiting dwarf a short stack, before kicking him away. That was in the marketplace when that happened.
Janet: (Shakes her head slowly) Oh...this can't be good. that dwarf is an alien race from Planet Micro. That race can curse anyone with their shrining powers. I guess that after being offended by Caulifla, the dwarf might off put a curse on her during the night, hence why...(Looks at Caulifla with a concerning expression) she's the size of an action figure. There is a solution to this.
Caulifla: What is it!? (Looks up to see Janet)
Janet: We have to kill the dwarf that cursed Caulifla. Be careful. The race is also capable of shrinking themselves to the size of the shrunken victim, so finding him or her is going to be a hard challenge.
Cabba: That's all that we need to know, Janet. (Looks at Caulifla) Caulifla!? I want you to stay in the lab so that the dwarf doesn't come after you! Okay?!
Caulifla: (Covers her ears) Hey! You don't have to yell at me! I understand, but why!? This dwarf doesn't remember what I said to him or her. Does he?
Janet: Unfortunately, he does remember. The race on Planet Micro doesn't forget the victims and will kill them while they're still small. I agree with Cabba. You should stay in the lab until we capture the dwarf. Okay?
Caulifla: Aw! F-Fine! (Crosses her arms, while making an angry expression) I wanted to help)
Kale: (Makes a sad expression towards Caulifla) It's going to be okay, Caulifla. We'll find that dwarf and you'll be back to normal in no time. (Smiles) Just be careful!
(Kale, Cabba, and Janet leave the lab)
Caulifla: (Sighs) I have to stay here and wait for this dwarf to be killed? What a pain it is to be small, while not being able to help your friends. All I did was call him a nickname and kicked him aside. It wasn't an insult or anything.
Hahahaha...
Caulifla: (Gets into position) What the hell was that? Come out!
?: Of course, short stack! (Comes out of a nearby box, walking towards Caulifla)
The person, who made that laugh a moment ago, reveals himself to be the same dwarf that caused Caulifla to be shrunk. He has orange hair, an orange beard, brown clothes, and grey shoes. He makes an angry expression towards Caulifla while pulling out a knife. He tells her that he'd done that to her after she called him "Short Stack" during the marketplace yesterday. "It's an insult on my planet! And to rub some salt on it, you kicked me to the side! You are going to be dead for that!" said the dwarf, as he charges at the Saiyan girl. Caulifla easily dodges the attack. She tells him that she didn't know that it was an insult and was sorry for kicking him into the side. That doesn't change the dwarf's plan of killing her for what she had done to him. The dwarf charges again, but this time, Caulifla jumps into the air, flying. She has to find the others so that she can be normal again. She flies out of the lab, causing the dwarf to do the same thing as well. He flies after Caulifla, still in pursuit of killing her for good. They keep flying around the headquarters, with Caulifla trying to avoid the dwarf's ki blast and knife throwing. Meanwhile, Kale and Cabba search for the dwarf in the various rooms on the second floor. Kale feels ashamed that she would have stopped Caulifla from insulting the dwarf in the marketplace yesterday. Cabba feels the same way, too, but he was just minding his own business. He later hears some small screams. They're high-pitched, but one of the voices sounds familiar to him. "Caulifla?" said Cabba, as he turns around, seeing two dots flying around in the air. He squints his eyes harder, seeing Caulifla and the dwarf fighting each other. He calls out Kale, points at the two dots in the air, and tells her to grab Caulifla and he'll take care of the dwarf. He later turns super Saiyan, Kale gets ready to catch Caulifla and sees the two dots coming towards them. Caulifla sees the two giant Saiyans, knowing what they're planning on. She flies towards Kale, closing her eyes for the impact. Kale grabs Caulifla with her hands, while Cabba shoots a finger beam towards the dwarf. The dwarf tries to escape but to no avail. The beam catches up to him and covers him in a painful attack. The dwarf evaporates into nothing, leaving only but it of dust from the attack. With the dwarf out of the picture, Caulifla begins to glow white. Kale lets go of Caulifla, noticing the glow from her sister in arms. A few seconds later, the glow turns into a cloud of smoke. POOF! Caulifla grows during the cloud of smoke. When the smoke disappears, the Saiyan girl is back to normal. "Haha! I'm back to normal!" said Caulifla, as she feels Kale hugging her. She looks at her sister with a big smile, glad that she was able to be fine, without worrying her that much. Cabba turns back to his normal form, also happy that Caulifla is back to normal. Janet also arrives at the scene, seeing Caulifla back to normal. "I guess I should be careful of what I say out of my mouth. I promise that I'll be more careful of what I say," said Caulifla, as she hugs Kale. She later feels her stomach in pain, like it's squeezing her waist hard. The scene wipes into a black screen. What the (bleep)!? Not this again! What is going on with these blank or black screens!?
*Dream ends (Caulifla's Room/Still Nighttime)
Caulifla wakes up from her sleep, holding her stomach in pain. She quickly gets off of her bed, runs out of the room, and into the bathroom. Kale wakes up from Caulila throwing up in the bathroom. She thinks that her stomach pain has kicked in and she might have had a bad dream. When Caulifla comes into her room with vomit around her lips, she sees Kale awake. "I think that I had a bad dream. I was small and you and Cabba were giants. Some dwarf shrunk me, all because I gave him an insulting nickname and kicked him aside. Ugh! I don't know what went down. Then..." said Caulifla, before Kale finishes the rest. "You had some stomach pains and felt sick? You have some-" said Kale, as she points to her lips, signaling that Caulifla still has some vomit around her lips. She wipes them off, before saying to Kale that they should sleep with Cabba for the rest of the night. "I need to train harder and I'm not letting this stomach pain get in the way of it!" said Caulifla, as she leaves the room to the living room. Kale follows Caulifla, knowing that she, too is still sick from her previous dream and stomach pains.
Caulifla's Hideout, Living Room (Four Hours Left until Morning)
Cabba: (Snores)... no...I'm not skinny...I can be a big boy...just give a few more snacks and I'll be-
Caulifla: (Kicks Cabba in the abs) Cabba! Wake up!
Cabba: (Opens his eyes in shock) Wha! (Looks at Caulifla and Kale) Why are you two doing in here? Don't you two have rooms?
Caulifla: Well...Kale had a dream, where she was fat and large, had some stomach pains, went into my room to sleep for a while until I had a bad dream of my being small, and I have MY stomach pains and threw up in the bathroom. So...we have to sleep with you for the rest of the night.
Kale: Can we, Cabba? It's almost morning.
Cabba: What time is it? (Rubs his eyes, while looking at his alarm clock) It's...4 am? (Sighs) Fine.
(Caulifla and Kale sleep on the floor)
Caulifla: Try not to have bad dreams! I have to get ready for training tomorrow. Good night! (Closes her eyes)
Kale: Good night, Caulifla and Cabba! (closes her eyes)
Cabba: Good night...I can go back to my...dream of being...gluttonous...(Closes his eyes)
