Side story 2: Hero of Heroes
"Grrr. A Chronosapien!? I didn't think the Omnitrix would have a defence mechanism against temporal powers." a raspy voice complains at his unfortunate luck.
The one who said that was a tall man wearing a dark purple bodysuit with a semi-transparent helmet. The man's face was an ashen tone with wrinkles all over it, almost as if he was dying from old age.
This was Eon, a Chronian whose race is capable of manipulating time and space. But Eon is no ordinary Chronian. No, he's the Chronian version of Rex. Sometimes, there will be different versions of the same person in other universes, and that's what Eon is. Another version of Rex from a different universe.
Despite being another version of Rex, Eon attacked the wielder of the Omnitrix for a very sinister reason. The Chronians are a powerful race, but their powers were also destroying themselves the more they used them. This eventually led to a time war between the time manipulating race, which trapped them outside of time.
All hope seemed lost for the Chronians were it not for what they found the Hands of Armageddon. This device was created by the Chronians to exist in every timeline/universe and can act as a portal between universes when activated.
The Chronians planned to use the Hands of Armageddon to escape, but they hit a problem. The hands in their universe could only send one person out, and if they wanted their entire race freed, someone must activate the hands in another universe. So, through time and many meetings, the Chronians decided to send Eon out of their universe to be freed and given the mission.
When Eon arrived in this universe, he immediately sought this universe's version of the Hands of Armageddon. He managed to locate it and salvage it but he could not activate the device. His body was too weak from crossing universes so, he did not have the sufficient energy to do so. Luckily for Eon, he knew of this universe's version of him. Is the wielder of the Omnitrix the most powerful device in the universe. Capable of changing the wearer into another species. In theory Eon could implant his own Chronian DNA into the Omnitrix turning Rex into another him. A him with a healthy Chronian body.
After that Eon would then takeover the mind of his other self and use his power to free the Chronians so they may conqueror the multiverse itself, with the multiverse under their control, the Chronians would never have to worry about the concept death again.
He would have succeeded too. But as soon his goal was right within his grasp, the Omnitrix turned purple and activated its temporal defence systems and unlocked Clockwork a Chronosapien to defend against Eon's time powers.
Standing across Eon was a large bulky robotic clock creature with a wind-up key on top of its head. The robot is composed of golden metal with a smiley face for its face. What's most notable about the creature was the green circle on its chest with the Omnitrix symbol at the center of it.

Description: Hailing from an unknown planet, most likely one existing beyond the universe itself. These chronosapiens are one of the most powerful beings in existence because they can control time itself. Thankfully, despite their immense power, no chronosapien seems malicious, except for the legendary evil chronosapien Maltruant. Our data is unfortunately limited on the knowledge of Chronosapiens due to their complex nature.
Eon grits his teeth in rage at his adversary. The only things worse than facing a chronosapien would be that meddling time walker and a celestialsapien.
Slowly a smirk forms on the Chronian's face as he realizes something. 'That fool Rex unlocked his Chronosapien form before his Omnitrix recalibrated itself. Meaning he doesn't have the instincts on how to use his time powers. Really what I'm actually fighting is a chronosapien who doesn't know how to use his powers. Oh, the irony.'
Chuckling to himself, Eon raises his hands, and purple energy begins to form on them, readying to fire time rays at Clockwork. "Well, well, Rex. I'll admit It's been fun, but as they all say. All fun things must come to an end." The Chronian mocked and fired his purple time rays towards the supposedly helpless Clockwork.
To Eon's shock, Clockwork raised his hands and fired his own green time rays towards his purple ones.
When the two-time rays met, a sphere of Chrono energy was created and is expanding at an alarming rate. Before the two could do anything else, the orb imploded on itself and became a time vortex, something like a black Hole. The vortex then began to pull both Clockwork and Eon towards its event horizon, with both time users powerless to resist it.
"Nnnnooooo!" Eon screams as both he and Clockwork disappear into the vortex, with it vanishing after both of them are sucked in.
Date 4074, Omnitrix City (20 years in the future)
"Ooof," Clockwork huffs out in slight pain as he rubs his metallic head because he landed on his head.
This was not how he expected to celebrate his 11th birthday. Really at first, his day was going so well. Eating cake with gramps and Corrine and opening tons of presents too (his favourite was the hoverboard Tetrax gave him.)
Then all of a sudden, there was this guy attacking him. Unlike all of Rex's other villains who were arrogant enough to say their plans this one didn't do it. But Rex was pretty sure he was after the Omnitrix (like every other being in the universe).
After shaking his pain off, Clockwork then took around his surroundings and what he saw shocked him. It… it was unimaginable to the Chronosapien. Skyscrapers made of metal reaching even higher than the palace of Mor Ardain. The streets were filled with so many different races, and some weren't from Alrest. Humans, nopon, urayan, indoline, gormotti, Galvanic mechamorphs, Tetramand, Pyronites, Blades and many other species he didn't recognize.
Then Clockwork saw a colossal statue not too far away from him, and it was a statue of... him? The figure looked like him but only a few years older, with the Omnitrix on his left arm and some sort of X-shaped thing on his chest. But what really caught his attention was the words inscribed beneath the statue.
Rex Salvager Hero of Heroes
'Is that me? What's going on here?' Rex thought in shock at seeing the statue of himself. He didn't know anything about a figure of him being built. And this place definitely didn't look like anywhere on Alrest since this city wasn't on a titan.
A teen gormotti girl on a hoverboard soars above him. "Hey Rex, lookin good." She flirts while waving at him.
"Yo Rex Salvager, keep bein an awesome hero." A group of boys encouraged him.
"Ummm," Clockwork stutters in confusion at all the attention he's getting. Just how did these people know him?
"No, no, no, no! Not here if we're here, then he is here!" Eon panics while looking around the area frantically like there's a monster going to spring up.
Clockwork turns to Eon, confused, and asks him. "What do you mean where are we? And what do you mean by he?" Really, what's so bad about this place? It seems nice.
All of a sudden, a huge explosion rings around the street, and Clockwork turns towards it.
The source of the explosion was a massive armu like creature with crimson cybernetics all over its body. The armu then turns towards Clockwork and sees the Omnitrix on his chest. Upon recognizing the device, he lets out a huge roar.
"Rrraagghh. Finally, I found you, Rex Salvager. Exo-skull shall crush you like he crushes fruit for his breakfast!"
Raising a non-existent brow, Clockwork turns back to Eon and sarcastically says. "Really, this guy? This is the person you're worried about?" this Exo-skull looked dumber than rocks, in his opinion.
Eon shakes his head at Rex's question. "No, not him. Him"
"Who-"
A blue and black blur arrives at the area before Clockwork can say anything else in less than a nanosecond. The blur then slams into Exo-skull with the force of several tons of explosives as each time it did, vast chunks of Exo-skull's armour break apart. It all happened so fast. Clockwork couldn't even see the fight itself.
When the blur finally stopped, the figure shocked Clockwork. It was XLR8, but there were some key differences between Rex's XLR8 and this XLR8. This one had a green X-shaped crystal above the Omnitrix symbol, which was green, unlike the white Rex has whenever he goes alien.
XLR8 looks around the area. First at the downed Exo-skull, who he had knocked out. Then at Eon and Clockwork. Seeing the white Omnitrix on the chronosapien gave the kineceleran just what was happening.
XLR8 turns to Eon. "So I detected a temporal anomaly, and I can see two reasons why though one is more likely than the other. It's one either Exo-skull who is so dumb he can't even be mind-controlled or two you Eon with my past self." the kineceleran mocks his time travelling enemy.
Upon finishing those words, a green flash appears in the streets and what Clockwork saw shocked him. It was definitely himself but a bit older, maybe 15 years old. His eyes were a glowing emerald instead of the golden amber colour, and his outfit was definitely… different. It was some kind of futuristic armour with a white colour scheme with green lines flowing through the entire suit. The Omnitrix on his left arm also looked way sleeker than the one he had. What also caught his eyes was the X-shaped green crystal on the centre of his chest.
The future Rex then tilts his head in an almost lazy fashion at Eon. "You know Eon. I've defeated a stronger version of you before, so why don't we make this easy and you just let me throw you into the Null Void and call it a day." Future Rex mocks Eon like he was some kind of impudent child not worth his time.
(AN: Future Rex will be called Salvager, and past Rex will be called Rex if they're in the same timezone and area)
Growling in rage, Eon right away fires a time beam towards
Salvager with the intent to age him into nothing but dust. But the future version of Rex is unfazed by the attack, and a green flash appears, turning him into an alien despite not even touching the Omnitrix.
"Feedback!"
Standing in place of Salvager was a tall humanoid with black skin and one green eye. The Alien had tendrils on the back of his head, and at the end of them were plugs. His fingertips also had holes similar to outlets that were used to absorb the time ray.

Powers and abilities: Electrokinesis, energy absorption, enhanced strength, durability, dexterity, agility, jumping, reflexes. Radiolocation, Quadrupedalism and space survivability.
Description: the conductoid species can absorb any form of energy in the universe. Their energy absorption abilities even surpass Sugilite, the only crystalsapein in the universe and guardian of Petropia. Although they can absorb any form of energy when said energy is released, it becomes electricity, not the energy's original state.
After the time rays died down, Feedback ran straight towards Eon and fired a blast of energy towards him. Eon responds by manipulating the matter around him into an energy shield that held its own against the conductoids attack.
Feedback changes tactics and runs straight towards Eon's shield, hands still up, seeing that his energy beams were useless. When he reached the shield, the conductoid began to drain its energy, making it disappear.
Seeing his shield gone, Eon raised his hands again to fire another time ray point-blank at Feedback. Just when his hands were beginning to glow, the tendrils on the back of the conductoid's head then moved to attach themselves onto the Chronian's hands.
When the two made contact, Eon could feel his energy-draining as Feedback was absorbing him. With both his hands occupied, Eon had no choice but to headbutt his head against his opponent.
"Gah!" Feedback let out a groan of pain as his head feels a bit distorted from Eon's dirty trick.
Seeing an opening, Eon launches another time ray to Feedback, and this time, the conductoid was too dizzy to absorb his attack. But just as the beam was an inch away from reaching its target, another time ray intercepted it making both time rays cancel each other.
"What?!" Eon then turns to his left and sees Clockwork holding up his hands, readying to fire another time ray. Seeing the chronosapien preparing to launch another attack, Eon quickly fires a time ray towards Clockwork, who responds with his own.
As the two time rays meet, the same sphere of time appears once more. But before the sphere could implode as it did in the past. Feedback, who managed to gather his mind, put his hands on Eon's head, making the Chronian scream in pain as his energy was being drained.
"AAAAAHHHH!" As Eon screams in pain, his time ray is beginning to dwindle as all of the Chrono energy in his body is being absorbed. With Eon's time beam gone, there was nothing to stop Clockwork's time ray from hitting him, causing the Chronian to glow green as cracks appear all over his body before he explodes.
"Huff huff," Clockwork breathes out in exhaustion as his body begins to feel the fatigue of using his Chrono powers so much. This was a drawback to Rex using Clockwork. Despite it being so powerful, Rex has no idea how to use it, so every time he uses its time powers, it feels like he's run a marathon at top speed the entire time.
"Beep beep beep beep beep!"
The Omnitrix on Clockwork's body flashes red, and standing in his place is an 11-year-old Rex who falls to his knees exhausted. Slowly he looks up and sees the other him who has turned back into a human form. A moment of silence goes through the area as both Rexs stares at one another.
Salvager then sighed and said to his past self. "I know what you're thinking. Where am I, who was that and who am I." he knew the answer because Rex is him.
Rex gasped and looked at Salvager wide-eyed, unable to comprehend how? "How-"
"How did I know that?" Salvager cuts off his past self. "Simple Rex. I'm you. Right now, you're in the future, 20 years to be exact, and you're in Omnitrix city on Elysium." the older Rex explains to his past self, walking closer to him while preparing to do what he has to do to protect his future.
"E-E-Elysium!? It exists. It's real!? Am I really in the future? Why do you look so young if it's been 20 years, and what form did you use? It was Awe-"
BAM!
While Rex was in his questioning state, he didn't realize that Salvager was coming to him so he could be close enough to hit him in the back of the head, knocking him out.
Seeing his past self fall to the ground like a sack of hot oranges, Salvager then looked up in the sky and yelled. "Hey, Paradox! I know that you're here! Whenever there's something like this going on, you're always close by!"
A moment passes, making the area have an awkward silence till the sounds of clapping could be heard. Salvager then turned to the source of the applause and saw him.
Standing right next to him, almost as if this man appeared beside him, out of nowhere is a man about in his mid-30s wearing a large science lab coat with a brown vest and black pants. He also had a pair of goggles hanging off of his neck, and the man's expression showed that he was impressed with him.
This was professor Paradox. A man from the old world of Earth before Alrest. He conducted an experiment in the 1950s using quartz crystals to punch a hole in the space-time continuum. However, his lab assistant messed up the experiment and made a slight miscalculation. This man was flung outside of time and space where he didn't sleep and eat just existed for one hundred thousand years.
For the first few thousand years, Paradox went insane until his mind became bored with his insanity and forced itself to become sane again. That's where this man began to learn everything there is about space and time itself. With his new knowledge, he managed to get back to his reality with the power to go anywhere and anywhen he wants within reason as long as he doesn't break the laws of time and space.
The relation between Rex and Paradox is that of partners. They've met each other when Rex was 14 years old, and the time walker usually asks for his help to combat things that the old man is not allowed to.
"Well, well, master Rex after all these years, you've finally known when I'm supposed to appear. Job well done." The old man compliments Rex's deduction abilities, jovially impressed at his friend's growth.
Rex just deadpans at the immortal time walker before kneeling down at his past self, more specifically the Omnitrix on his past self. Reaching for the device, Rex's hand glows green and puts it on top of the Omnitrix's faceplate, causing it to glow green itself and spin wildly. Currents of green energy erupt from the two, and after a few minutes, Rex removes his hand from the watch causing the energy to disappear.
"Omnitrix has acquired DNA sample of Conductoid species and is set for recalibration in 3 Alrest days." the most powerful device in the universe stated, making Rex nod his head, seeing his work is done.
Turning to face Paradox, Rex then told him. "Alright, you know what to do next. Erase his memories of being here and replace it with him beating Eon as Clockwork."
It might seem strange and cruel, but Rex can't take any chances. The rules of time travel are if you were to meet your future self, the future changes. By doing this can leave the future intact, if not almost similar to how it is now. Plus, he knows his past self would also want this future. The future that was built with his sweat, blood and tears along with his friends.
Paradox nods his head before carrying Rex's past self over his shoulders. Getting a comfortable grip, he turns to the future Rex. "Oh, and don't worry, my boy, I'll make sure to drop him off at Torigoth right when you save young master Tora, and I'll be sure to put the others in his head as well. Happy birthday too!" with that, Paradox disappears with the unconscious boy in a blinding blue light, leaving Rex alone on the street. With both of them leaving for the past.
Seeing there's no reason to be here anymore, Rex is engulfed in a green flash and becomes XLR8. Moving in a burst of speed, he traverses the city until he reaches the centre of Elysium.
Right in front of XLR8 is a giant tower, the biggest in the city. Composed of neutronium alloy to withstand even the most devastating of attacks, even from the likes of Siren's energy blasts, it was also the headquarters/home of Rex and his family.
Rex looked at the tower with a bit of a resigned look on his face. It's not that he hates it. He likes it, actually. But he would prefer a large house near a grassy field and lake like the Elysium he saw from Pyra's memories all those years ago. But the people of Alrest built this tower for him when they had the sufficient technology as a thank you gift for saving the world (again).
Shaking his head at what the hell he goes through on an almost daily basis. Seriously it seems like the world is always about to be destroyed at the end of every week, with the universe being the same only at the end of every month. Hell, there's that one time where the whole multiverse was at stake.
'Well, Rex, this is your life now, can't complain about it, though. Especially what waits for me every day.' Rex thought with a wide grin on his face.
He makes his way into the tower and enters the elevator setting it to go to his home. When he exited the elevator, he walked down the hall and arrived at a door. Slowly he opens the door to meet his Wives.
"I'm hom-mph." Before he could finish, a green blur rushes at him, knocking all of the air out of his lungs. He would take a deep breath if it weren't for his face being stuffed in a pair of very developed and soft breasts that were suffocating him.
"Happy birthday, Master Rex." A sultry coo whispered into his ears, making his spine shiver with excitement. Probably because he could feel someone's fingers slowly tickling his spine while massaging his chest. Rex still needed air as pleasurable as it was to feel the soft breasts and the groping hands. So, that's why he's desperately trying to separate from this girl who he definitely knows. After all, only one girl is this shameless when it comes to being with him.
Thankfully his saviour came in the form of Pyra and Mythra as both of them dragged the girl away by the arms from Rex while Pyra scolded her. "Pneuma, couldn't you see Rex suffocating when you do that?"
"I'm still having trouble believing that you're our original self. Really why are you like this and don't tell me you got that outfit from Tora. It's embarrassing!" Mythra yells at her perverted sister.
"Oh, don't lie to me. Both of you want to do that with Rex as well." The girl, now named Pneuma, replied while pouting because she was separated from her husband. Slowly a grin forms on her face. "Really, there's no need to be such a prude, you know. What's wrong with showing Rex how much we love him? It's our duty as his wives. I feel no shame whenever I do it~" Pneuma teases her sisters.
Both Pyra and Mythra sputter at that, and their faces lit up while trying to deny all of it. Even though it's been years since they all married Rex, both of them still feel embarrassed to express themselves the way Pneuma could.
Both of the Aegis girls look the same as they have always been. They were even missing the piece of their core that they gave to Rex all those years ago on that ship. But there was one difference. They both had a gold ring on their fingers with a ruby and topaz gem to match their colour scheme.
Rex looks at the supposed true self of Pyra and Mythra, who's also their sister. Instead of being clad in her casual wear or armour. The third Aegis girl is in a maid dress with a short skirt that barely covered her butt, which was very thick like her breasts. The uniform showed all of her luscious legs and arms with a white half apron that only covered her stomach and a small black corset covering her ample chest while showing massive amounts of cleavage. Her usual emerald tiara was covered by a frilly maid headpiece that added an aura of cuteness to her. But what's most important is the emerald gold ring on her finger.
Rex looks at Pneuma fondly. She has the same face as Pyra and Mythra. Only her colour scheme was green, not red and yellow. But what really caught Rex's eye was that long green hair tied into a ponytail. He really likes that hairstyle a lot. So, much that Mythra tried to beat her sister by tying her hair the same way. But Rex told the blonde Aegis girl that she didn't need to change her hair for him because he likes her just the way she is (sometimes he's really sappy). But what's perhaps most important is that part of her core is missing because he still has it along with Pyra and Mythra.
"Gah!"
He almost jumps at feeling a hand stroking his backside. "Heh, seeing the three of you interact is better than any show I've seen on the TV. Also, you still have a nice and firm butt Rex" a cheeky voice chimed in, revealing it to be Nia in her blade form who was groping Rex's butt.
Nia's blade form had long hair tied into twin tails with two fox-like ears instead of the cat ears in her gormotti form. Her dress was really revealing, and it was akin to that of a lewd priestess with it showing so much of her legs. But what's most important was the purple core crystal on her chest, showing that she was a perfect flesh-eater. She, too, had a ring, but it was silver with an opal gemstone as clear as water.
"Nia!" Rex yells out, feeling embarrassed from having his body groped by his Blade/wife.
Nia stops her groping and deadpans at her husband. "Oh, don't give me that. I know when to stop and control myself, unlike her." she gestures to Pneuma, who was getting scolded by both Pyra and Mythra for her perverted tendencies.
An elegant voice then joined the group. "My my. I've come all the way from Mor Ardain to visit my husband for his birthday, and I'm being ignored? Really, Rex, I thought you loved all of us equally. I even put on my best perfume for you."
The voice belonged to Brighid, the jewel of Mor Ardain who still looked like how she always was when they first met. Except the colour of her core crystal being pink and not the typical blue core colour or the purple colour for flesh-eaters. She smiled while raising her fingers to her ring, a platinum ring with a dark sapphire gem.
"Um, Brighid… can't you arrive here instantly with the teleportation system that's linked to your room in Mor Ardain?" a shy voice questions her sister wife nervously.
The one who questioned Brighid was Ursula. She's an ice Blade about the same height as Rex, so she's pretty short. Her long hair is white, and it had two sprigs of lily in it, giving her an aura of cuteness and innocence that couldn't be matched. Her clothing was a white woolly poncho covering her whole body, and her blue eyes sparkled like the most beautiful snowflakes. On her ring finger is a silver ring with a sparkling white diamond. Her core crystal, which is shaped like a snowflake, is a pink colour, just like Brighid.
She wasn't alone, however. Standing next to two of her is a giant polar bear that can stand on his two feet. This was Beary, a being that is summoned alongside Ursula, and the two have a unique relationship. You see, Ursula is capable of empowering Beary the same way she could empower a Driver. Meaning the two can act as a Driver and Blade, and Ursula is the only known Blade capable of doing this.
Suddenly a large field that suppresses ether goes across the area restraining all of the Blades and getting their attention. The one responsible for this was Haze, who held her blade weapon, a crosier up.
Haze is a beautiful girl with long light brown hair that is accommodated with a small crown. Her eyes were golden like that of tornans and Rex's eyes before they changed to green. Her clothing is that of a priestess's white robe on the outside and red on the inside. A long thin veil magically floats around her, giving herself this sense of divinity. Her core crystal was diamond-shaped, and it too was the same peculiar pink colour as Brighid and Ursula. On her finger is a silver ring with an amber gemstone.
"If you're all quite arguing amongst yourselves instead of greeting Rex for his birthday after he went to deal with whatever happened in the city." The former goddess of Indol scolds the girls while glaring at them. Though with how cute she was, it looked like a little kid trying to glare at their parents who failed to scare anyone in the room. But with her restraining every Blade in the room, they couldn't do anything against her, so they just stopped fighting.
Seeing that the fighting has ceased, Haze cancels her suppression field and turns to Rex with a smile on her face. She then walks up to him and cups his cheeks before closing her eyes and giving her husband a passionate kiss that he reciprocated. The two of them slightly moan from the kiss as they open their mouths to let their tongues exchange saliva with one another as they battle for dominance.
But they couldn't kiss for too long since it was almost time for dinner. So, Haze reluctantly separates from Rex's lips. As the two separated, a strand of saliva was connecting them for a second before it broke apart.
Sighing in bliss, Haze licked her lips and said to Rex, slightly dazed. "Happy birthday Rex." She then leaned onto his chest feeling his warmth as she continued. "It's almost time for your birthday dinner, and I'm sure Mythra made reservations, right?" she looked at Mythra with a happy look in her eyes.
Said blonde Aegis just huffs and crosses her arms while glaring at her old friend because she pulled a fast one on them. "Yeah, yeah, don't worry, I made reservations, and Hikari's already there waiting for us. Come on, let's go." Hoping that Haze would stop hogging her Rex while also wanting to see her daughter.
Haze nods happily as she hugs one of Rex's arms and begins walking out of the apartment.
Everyone else looks at Haze, then at Rex's other unoccupied arm, which any of them could grab then at each other. Suddenly, like a bunch of wild armu, they all ran towards Rex, hoping to hold onto his arm as they were going to the restaurant.
During all of this, Rex just lets out a nervous laugh as he thinks. 'I still don't know how I got married to seven girls.' He had a harem, but he was happy for his life, and he hoped that his past self's future would go this happy future or something similar.
In the timestream
"Gah. I never expected this to happen. No matter, I may just be a temporal clone but mark my words, Rex. I will free my original self, and not even your future self can save you."
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been updating. I've got fired from my job, so I've been depressed recently. I wasn't really in the mood to write, but I'm not dead, don't worry. Remember, I'll tell you guys if I quit writing.
It's been difficult for me to write, so I've read your reviews to keep me motivated. At first, I wrote this story for my own pleasure. But after seeing so many people enjoy it, I decided to write for you guys. So, please review it keeps me motivated.
This is another side story, and its purpose is to foreshadow some things later in my story, basically. It also has another purpose. You guys know this is a harem story. But the problem is it's challenging to write a harem with so many girls (massive props to any writer that can write harems.)
So, this was my solution in a sense. The harem I wanted was (Rex X Pyra, Mythra, Pneuma, Nia, Brighid, Ursala and Haze.) But it was already hard enough to write them all in this short, and I can't imagine the future parts of my story if I did them. This is where ben 10 time travel rules come in.
If you meet your future self, the future changes. Future Rex thought he could prevent the future from changing if he got his past self's memories of the event erased. It didn't work. Because this is the official harem, I'm going with. (Rex X Pyra, Mythra, Pneuma, Nia and Haze.) five is probably my limit. But hey, at least Rex got together with Brighid and Ursala in another timeline.
This is also the reason why Rex likes Feedback so much, unlike the original ben 10. It's not because Feedback felt good. It's because past Rex can still instinctively remember the future. And the only thing he got from the future was Feedback. So, when Rex saw Feedback get destroyed, it was like watching his future get destroyed.
Now Eon. His origin story has been retconned in confusing ways. So, I went with my own version. He's Rex from another dimension who's a Chronian, and he's trying to possess Rex so he can have a healthy Chronian body to free his race.

Temporal King: thanks. I just thought that when Jin mentioned that when human cells are woven into a Blade, they awaken strange abilities. Blades are basically organic computers with a set evolution. But add the unknown human variable, and they can evolve in unpredictable ways.
Rex has been traumatized by his past but not to the point of suicide. He was, however, almost pushed to the point of quitting being a hero, but someone stopped him. And the two can bond and heal each other, as you said.
