Chapter 9: Confessions and time

Two figures were lying down on the bed where Pyra and Rex booked their stay in Uraya. Rex was soundly asleep when the morning sun came up, leaning against the Aegis. But it wasn't the red Aegis. It was Mythra. The blonde Aegis was lying down next to her Driver, cuddling him.

Mythra looked at Rex's face and couldn't help but think, 'cute.' he really was adorable, especially when he was asleep. Slowly she raised one of her hands and stroked his cheek, feeling his smooth and tender skin. The texture was so soft that Mythra felt like she could rub it forever.

When her hands were caressing his face, she slowly made her way down to his chest, feeling his muscles. They weren't as big when he was Saber, but they were big enough to get a good feel, in her opinion. Suddenly her hand brushes on a scar. Most likely the one that Jin caused. She feels the scar and feels a bit guilty about it.

Because of her, Rex got stabbed in the back and heart by her once ally, now turned enemy. The thought of anything else happening to him made her heart clench. Mythra shakes her head and leans her face into Rex's chest, trying to forget about her Driver's death.

'Are you done? I really want some time in bed with him too, and besides, why did you come out?' Pyra asked, annoyed from having her time with Rex stolen.

Hearing Pyra begging to come out made Myhtra smirk as she replied in her head. 'Oh, you know Rex was right. Don't get me wrong, Elysium is great and all, but coming out here is nice too.'

'You're just saying that to cope a feel of Rex, aren't you?' Myhtra could feel Pyra's deadpan expression from the bluntness in her voice.

Blushing a bit, Mythra made a stern face at her sister. 'Yeah, maybe? So? You've been hogging him all to yourself. I want a turn too.'

'Can you blame me? He's just so nice to be around.'

Sighing quietly at that, Myhtra knew her sister had a point. Rex was nice to be around. Taking a few moments to herself, Myhtra asked. 'So, are you going to tell him and seal the deal?'

'W-w-w-what!? Now!?' Pyra stutters while panicking.

Hearing Pyra's panicked expression made Mythra smirk since that means she's got a one-up on her sister. 'Yes, now besides, you kissed him twice, didn't you.'

'The second time was just to get him into our mind, that's it!' Pyra denied.

'Oh? But didn't his lips taste delicious by your standards?' Mythra said, mocking her sister.

Pyra, after hearing that, went silent, hoping that by not responding, Mythra would stop teasing her about kissing Rex.

Chuckling silently at Pyra's attempt to stop her from teasing her sister was amusing. Slowly Myhtra's eyes drifted to Rex's left arm and the Omnitrix. It's hard to believe that this little thing was so powerful, but then again, you could say the same thing for core crystals. Raising her hand towards the Omnitrix, the blonde Aegis begins to brush her fingers against the device and Rex's left arm.

Then a Myhtra felt it. Her eyes widened in shock. The sheer amount of energy within the device. It felt Infinite, something similar but a bit weaker than the unknown source of energy she drew from. This was quite shocking to her. She never expected this device to have almost the amount of power she does. No wonder Rex said that he's used to being hunted down. With a device like this, it's like having an Aegis with you at all times. But there was something else in there too. Something Incomprehensible.

Feeling how powerful the Omnitrix is, Mythra thought back to that memory of Rex's left arm being shattered. That monster Vilgax. How could he do that to Rex? He was just a ten-year-old kid. Her Driver, no, her Rex shouldn't have gone through any of that in his life. He was just a child. What else did he have to go through?

A part of Mythra is too scared even to find out what else Rex went through in the last few years.

With that thought in her head, Mythra made a promise to him just like he did to her and Pyra. "I promise I'll protect you, but please wait for a bit. I… want some time before I come out." she gently whispered in his ear. Slowly, she reached Rex's lips and left a chaste kiss. It was short and sweet, nothing like Pyra's passionate kisses. But the feeling behind them was the same as her sister's.

After finishing the kiss, Mythra let out a goofy smile as she felt her heartbeat so fast. It might've exploded from the sheer emotions going through her body. Her face was redder than her sister's hair and eyes, showing that Mythra was more embarrassed than Pyra was when kissing Rex despite her bold action.

"Mhhggnn," Rex groaned, starting to wake up from Mythra's surprise kiss.

Seeing Rex about to wake up made Myhtra panic. She's not ready for Rex to see her in bed with him. Quickly in a flash of yellow light, Mythra swaps with Pyra, who realizes what just happened and blushes at being in the same bed with Rex again.

Rex, who was opening his eyes, blinks a few times and realizes Pyra and him are on the same bed. Turning a bit red at how close he was to her, the wielder of the Omnitrix could only let out a small "H-h-hey."

Pyra manages a timid response while still blushing. "M-morning"

Slowly Rex gets up and sits on the side of the bed, still facing Pyra, his face still bright red. He then thought back to the kiss they both shared. Did she like him too? Did that kiss mean anything? Licking his lips nervously, he asked the girl he loved. "Um… Pyra. Why did you kiss me exactly?" he was so embarrassed that if the ground swallowed him up, he wouldn't mind.

"A-a-a-ah," Pyra stutters while blushing, even more, refusing to meet Rex's eyes.

A long moment of silence goes between the two. Neither of them could say anything since they were too embarrassed to start a conversation.

But despite this, Pyra still wasn't going to let this opportunity slide. Mythra was right. This was the bond the both of them craved, and Rex could give it to them. Plus, living a life with Rex doesn't… sound so bad.

This was a very hard decision for Pyra. A part of her still desired to die. The world should never have to face the power of the Aegis again. But another part of her wants to be with Rex. Two sides of her were warring against each other, but maybe the best route was to be with Rex.

Plus, what Pyra saw in Rex's memory was… traumatizing, to say the least. In a way, both of the Aegis girls could sympathize with Rex. Both Driver and Blade have definitely gone through terrible things, but Rex doesn't know the whole story. Myhtra may have shared her memories with Rex, but she didn't share all of them.

More specifically, the blonde Aegis didn't share the memory of Siren's energy blast sinking the Tornan titan. Both of the Aegis girls wished for Rex never to find out that specific memory. Because if their Driver did find out what atrocious things Mythra had done in the war. They were most definitely sure Rex would leave them.

Again when thinking about the possibility of Rex leaving them or him gone from this world made, Pyra's heart clenched. 'Why does it hurt so much?' she thought lamently. Why did the thought hurt them like this when both of them decided to leave Rex from the very beginning.

'The beginning. Ah, that's why. Things have changed, haven't they?' Pyra thought humorlessly. Things have changed since Pyra and Rex first met. When Rex made that promise in Elysium to her. Pyra didn't give it much thought. She thought Rex was just being childish due to how young and naive he was. An innocent promise made to a pretty girl by a young boy. But after seeing Rex's maturity, kindness and determination. Pyra now knows Rex meant every word he said since they first met. His desire to help her and to care for her.

Slowly, a smile forms on Pyra's lips, and a blush forms on her cheeks as she remembers every intimate and romantic moment she had with Rex. Both of the kisses she shared with Rex made Pyra confirm it. She was in love with Rex more than anything else right now.

After realizing how much she liked Rex. Pyra made a choice that would change her life. Slowly she turns to Rex and brings up her hand to cup his cheek. This action causes Rex to sputter and blush like crazy as he's unable to do anything since he's too embarrassed. With Rex still panicking. Pyra leans forward and brings her lips directly onto her Driver's lips.

"Mmmmhmmm," Pyra moans as she locks lips with the boy she loves. This love was different from the type of love Mythra shared with Addam. The relationship between the two was more like a daughter and father. It was nothing like the intimate feeling that Pyra wanted with Rex.

She was letting her feelings make her body go on autopilot. Pyra constantly brushes her lips against Rex's, wanting more contact with her Driver. No, her Rex. Each movement she had with him was done with gentle yet fierce brushes that would stimulate their mouths. Feeling a bit more daring, Pyra had a kinky idea. Slowly she opens her mouth to tell Rex that he should do the same to which he reciprocated. Letting her tongue enter his mouth, she tickles his tongue with hers making his do the same. After getting what she wanted, Pyra withdrew her tongue back into her mouth.

This causes Rex to whimper slightly at the loss of connection between the two. Wanting more, the alien hero moves his tongue into Pyra's mouth, not realizing he's fallen into her trap. The moment his tongue was inside her mouth, Pyra immediately sucked on it, making Rex let out a squeak of surprise and pleasure. There was nothing he could do as his tongue was at Pyra's mercy.

Pyra enjoyed the sensation of her sucking on Rex's tongue. The more she sucked on it, the more saliva was being excreted from it, which she greedily drank. While still swallowing his saliva Pyra then had another daring idea. She raises her hands and moves them under Rex's shirt.

Pyra's hands slowly tickle Rex's belly with her fingers teasingly stroking him while they're making their way up his chest making him shudder in excitement. When her hands reached his pec's. Pyra then began to touch (grope) it while still maintaining lip contact with her Driver. Things might've gone further if it weren't for Rex to grab her shoulders and push her away suddenly.

Rex was breathing hard with his heart pounding several times in a single second. 'That-that wasn't natural!' he thought while blushing up a storm. Again why did Pyra kiss him!? Did-did she love him? But then why? Why did she avoid him after she took his first kiss?

"P-P-Pyra why?" Rex asked while trying to calm down his heart while looking a bit dazed.

Pyra, who was also blushing, squirms with both of her arms, making her breasts squish against each other. Which causes Rex to stammer at the scene. While fiddling with her hands the crimson Aegis makes her confession. "I… I love you Rex.'' After hearing those words Rex widens his eyes and he goes completely red. Before he could say anything Pyra continued. "I love you ever since we left Gormott after you made your promise to me. I just wasn't sure how I felt until I saw you hurt by Ophion. Seeing you hurt made me realize that I want to protect you too, not just because I'm your Blade but also because I love you."

Rex could only stare at his Blade and whisper. "Pyra." Deep down he was jumping for joy. Pyra liked him 'O-o-oh, by the Celestialsapiens, is this real? Did Pyra just confess to me and say that she loved me?!'. This was the first time a girl has ever confessed to him and Rex didn't know what to do. Honestly, he'd had more luck like stopping an alien invasion than trying to get a girlfriend due to his crazy life. And it wasn't just any girl that was confessing to him. It was this supposed legendary Blade that Rex was instantly smitten with too.

"I know that maybe I'm going too fast and I'm not even sure if it's right for me to have these feelings for you. After all, I'm a Blade." Pyra makes a dejected face at that.

She was a Blade, the Aegis the daughter of the Architect. But here she was confessing to her Driver about how she felt about him. As a Blade even if she got together with Rex she can't give him a… family. Pyra might be thinking too far ahead. But that was the sad reality of Blades. Even if a Blade and Driver got together, they can't have kids. Also as the Driver grew older the Blade would stay the same watching their beloved grow old. And when the Driver dies the Blade would forget everything about the life the two of them shared. For Pyra, she can still continue even if Rex dies but she doesn't want that.

Pyra then begins to feel some tears well up in her eyes at that thought. She can't give Rex anything even if they got together. And she would be forced to watch him grow old while she stays young. An image of Rex dying on his bed of old age with no children around him wasn't what Pyra wanted for him. Maybe she shouldn't have confessed. Maybe she should've kept her mouth shut. 'I'm sorry Rex. I shouldn't have said anything. You should get together with another girl like Nia. She can give you everything I can't. But I do love mmph?!' Pyra's train of thought was cut off and her eyes widened in shock as she felt Rex's lips against hers.

With his eyes closed, Rex kisses Pyra to erase her self-doubt. He saw how troubled and conflicted she was. So, he tried to erase all of her worries by showing her that he does accept her feelings. It wasn't a long or passionate kiss. But it was enough for both of them to be happy.

Separating from the kiss Rex looks at Pyra who had a dazed expression on her face. Smiling, he reaches for her hand and grasps it. "Pyra I don't care if you're a Blade or not. You're the person I love. I have loved you since Gormott too and I want to be with you." Rex takes a deep breath for the final part of his confession. "Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked with hopeful eyes.

Gasping Pyra raises one of her hands to her mouth as her heart beats even faster. The image of Rex as an old man was gone as soon as she heard Rex's confession. After processing Rex's words for a few seconds Pyra then launches herself at him and hugs him while shouting. "Yes, Rex! I will be your girlfriend!"

The feeling in Pyra's heart was more intense than any emotion she or Myhtra felt even 500 years ago. They found the bond they've been searching for ever since Jin said their real affinity lies in the future and they found it. They found their Driver, not only that they found something more too.

But before things could go further between the two a knock was heard on the door. "Rex-Rex! Pyra! Tora and friends have been waiting for you two! Friends should hurry up! Old man Cole said he wanted to tell us something that he meant to tell us last night!" the little furry Nopon yells making Pyra and Rex separate.

Rex looks at Pyra who mouthed "We'll talk later" as she gets to the washroom to freshen up.

While still on the bed Rex smiles like an idiot at finally having a girlfriend before going to the washroom too. (Not anything perverted!)

Fonsa Myma Playhouse Backstage

"I apologize for making you come here again but with what happened yesterday I guess I forgot."

Rex looks at the old man accepting his apology. But something was different about Cole. Was it just Rex or did Cole seem… younger? The old man seemed a lot healthier than he did yesterday. Some of the wrinkles from his face were gone not to mention a bit of colour returned to his skin.

'What's going on with Cole? I hope there aren't any side effects from having his core repaired.' Rex thought in worry.

"Any way that dagger I gave you" Cole said while getting everyone's attention. "Show it to my Driver. He's in Indol right now. Though you know him as Praetor Amalthus."

"WHAT?!"

Everyone shouted in shock at hearing about Cole's Driver. The Praetor was arguably the most powerful person in Alrest. He's in charge of the nation that controls the shipment of Core Crystals, thus he controls the number of Drivers and Blades to each nation. Not only that Indol was also an extremely powerful utopian titan too with many people in Alrest supporting the Praetor.

Pyra and Mythra were shocked as well. The last time Mythra met Amalthus was when he was still a questor. How did the guy manage to become the Praetor and how was he still alive? Even if the Indoline had an extended lifespan, 500 years was pushing it so how?

Was it because he was Malos's Driver? Was this another power of being the Aegis's Driver? Upon that thought, Pyra turned to the still shocked Rex. 'Could Rex have an extended lifespan too? Will he exist as long as I exist?' The idea of Rex being immortal was a pleasant thought to Pyra. If Rex lived forever then she doesn't have to ever say goodbye to him.

Cole started laughing like a madman at seeing everyone's reaction. Really this was way funnier than he imagined. Maybe it was better that he forgot to tell them yesterday. He hasn't laughed this well in a long time. Not to mention it doesn't hurt to laugh anymore ever since he got healed.

"Hahahaha." After finishing laughing Cole wiped away a tear before continuing. "There is something else too. I suggest you all head to Garfont village and meet Vandham. He's an old friend of mine. I'm sure he'll be a great help for you on your journey. If there's one thing he can't resist, it's an adventure. And I can't think of anything more exciting than travelling with the Aegis. Trust me I should know." Cole smiles at the memories of his adventures with Myhtra through Torna 500 years ago. Though he did frown when he remembered the destruction of the Tornan titan.

"Is friend Cole ok?" Tora naively asked, unaware of the old man's mood change.

Smiling at Tora. Cole pats and ruffles the big nopon's head "I'm fine my small furry friend." however this makes Tora yell in indignation.

"Meh-meh-meh! Tora not littlepon anymore! Though friend Cole's hand feels nice." Tora cooed out while leaning his hand closer into the old man's hand.

Seeing this, Poppi made a cute frown and pouted. Angrily she walks up to Tora and takes him away from Cole. "Masterpon does not need anyone else other than Poppi. So, Cole keep away from masterpon got it!" The artificial Blade glares at Cole while squeezing Tora. though due to how young she looked the angry look was too cute to be taken seriously.

'C-c-cute!' everyone else thought as they see Poppi's angry adorable expression.

Tora however was shaking and trying to escape from Poppi's arms which were crushing the life out of him. "M-m-meh! Someone help Tora! Poppi is squeezing Tora like he's a stuffed tasty sausage! Tora is not a sausage!" He yelled while his face was beginning to turn from brown to blue.

Nia just stares at Tora and Poppi with half-lidded eyes. "Why did I decide to travel with these idiots again?" she murmured. Oh, wait it's because she found Rex to be an interesting person especially since he protected her when he had no reason to. Really that kid might as well be a hero like Tora says since he's the sappiest and nicest person she's ever seen.

Nia turns her eyes to Rex and he was beside Pyra. her eyes widened a bit when she saw both of them reach out for the other's hand instinctively. Not only that there was an odd sense of intimacy between the two now. After seeing this Nia grits her teeth a bit and clenches her fists in frustration.

Nia knew the interest she had in Rex might've intensified into becoming a crush. When she heard and saw what kind of person he was. She thought he might've been the one for her. Someone who wouldn't judge her and maybe be something more. But after she saw that kiss in Gormott. The gormotti girl thought she should just be happy for the two of them.

'So, why am I not happy?'

Pyra was about to help Tora out but she stopped when she saw the expression on Nia's face. 'Nia. I'm sorry I should've remembered. You like Rex too right?

"Meh-meh! Tora can see a bright light!. Grampypon… is… that… you?"

Hearing Tora dying from suffocation made everyone panic as they tried to pry the nopon from Poppi.

The field of Uraya upper ledge

"Mhm judging by where we are, Garfont village shouldn't be too far away"

"Meh-meh Tora still wants compensation from friends for almost letting Tora die."

"Hey, I said I was sorry, what more do you want from me?"

"Tora would like that Omni-plate of Rex-Rex. Tora is very interested in the technology used to build it. Also, Tora would like 50 years worth of tasty sausage and to be carried around for this entire journey." The brown Nopon lets out a cheeky grin as he looks at Rex

Currently, the group were walking through the fields of Uraya inside the titan to make their way to Garfont village. But Tora miraculously did not die from Poppi's death bear hug. Was complaining to everyone about almost letting him die from a hug.

Rex, who was using his Omni-plate's GPS system stopped walking and glared down at Tora. "Oh, sure and do you want a kidney too?" He snarked, getting irritated by the nopon's attitude.

Tora glares back at Rex "Tora Not backing down even if Rex-Rex is his heropon!"

A couple of feet away Pyra, Nia, Poppi and Dromarch watch both male Drivers argue with one another. Nia deadpans at the two "What a couple of stooges." she could feel her brain cells dying from the stupid arguments Tora and Rex made.

Dromarch came to her side "Er, my lady. Shouldn't we assist them?"

Nia turns to her Blade. "Assist who? This bloody argument is stupid and pointless. But if you want to go, be my guest."

The Tiger blade then turns to Pyra and Poppi for advice. "Well, what do you two propose to do in this situation?"

Pyra shakes her head. "I agree with Nia on this. This argument isn't important. We've already apologized to Tora earlier, especially Poppi." The Aegis currently isn't wearing her disguise but she knows she'll have to soon.

Said artificial Blade looks down in sadness. "Poppi is already sorry to masterpon. Poppi isn't ready to become a widow. Should Poppi go further by wearing masterpon's favourite outfit?"

Everyone else looks at Poppi strangely after hearing her words and promises to have words with Tora later.

Rex who was having enough of it arguing with Tora finally said. "Ugh! Fine if you want someone to carry you then here!"

Rex digs into his pockets and pulls out a strange circular device with a button on it. Pressing the button he then throws it onto the ground. To everyone's amazement, the device began to shift and expand until it became a board that was floating in the air!

Tora looked at the floating board like a child getting his birthday gift early. "Meh! What is this device? How is it floating in air!"

Rex crosses his arms as he explains. "That's my hoverboard. You can use that for now but give it back later. It means a lot to me." The board meant a lot to Rex since it was his birthday gift from Tetrax.

Approaching the hoverboard Tora excitedly jumped on it. The nopon had some trouble finding his balance on the device since it was designed for bipedal beings, not nopon.

"Meeeeehh! Someone help Tora! Tora doesn't know how to steer this thing!" The big nopon flies off uncontrollably into the distance.

"Masterpon! Poppi is coming, just wait!"

Rex snickers at the comical sight of Poppi chasing down her Driver with said Driver moving around wildly on a hoverboard. But before he could burst out laughing someone slapped the back of his head.

"Ow!"

Rex turns around and sees Nia with her hand up indicating it was her who slapped him. Out of the corner of his eye, Rex saw Pyra nursing her head.

"What was that for?!" Rex yelled, hurt by Nia's strike.

Nia glared at him. "You mean to tell me you had one of those… things and you never bothered to tell us what other things do you have?!"

'And where can I get one?' Nia thought jealous of Tora getting the chance to use something so cool. Though she would never admit it out loud.

Rex, still rubbing his head, replied. "I have a bunch of advanced tech on me. And as for why I didn't tell you it was never brought up so I thought it wasn't important."

Before their conversation could go any further everyone heard Tora call out to them and someone… screaming in pain?

"Meeeeeeehhh! Someone save Tora….. Wait! Tora is fine! Tora hit something big and soft!"

"Oh get off me you big nopon! Where did you come from?! And how did you get something this awesome! Pandy, do you know what this is?"

Turning to Tora everyone saw that the nopon was on his back with Rex's hoverboard in the hands of another person.

He was a tall man taller than Rex even when he was Saber but shorter than Heatblast. The man had short spiky dark gray hair and an eyepatch covering his left eye. His clothing is a long black coat that's unbuttoned leaving some of his chest exposed. On his back was a massive claymore-like sword that was blue-coloured.

Beside the man was a girl. She had short green hair and pointy ears with a small top hat on her head. Her eyes were covered by glasses. On her chest was a core crystal indicating that she was a Blade. But something was strange. The Blade's crystal wasn't symmetrical like all Blades. Instead, it looked like a fragment of it was off. Her shoulders were lightbulbs and she had a tail with a lightbulb at the end.

"Uh, if you don't know what this thing is then what makes you think I would know?" the Blade sassily responds to the person who is most likely her Driver.

"Cmon! This thing was floating off the ground. Can you imagine all the cool tricks and poses and stunts we can do with this!?"

The Blade brings a hand up to her chin and says. "Yeah, I'm gonna have to stop you there. With your bad luck, I imagine you somehow falling off a cliff and into the cloud sea every day if you use this thing." She then looks at Tora. "Besides this isn't even ours it probably belongs to this nopon here."

"Meh-meh-meh! That isn't Tora's! It belongs to Tora's heropon Rex-Rex, give it back!"

Rex was looking at the exchange between the three and he couldn't help but feel that he knew the Driver and Blade. And why was his mind screaming at him to stay far away from those two?

'Strange I feel like I should know those two. Where have I seen them before?'

Shaking his instincts telling him to not get involved. Rex walks up to the group hoping to clear up this situation.

"Hey, excuse me?" he gets the group's attention with that. "What Tora's saying is true. Can I please have that back? It's a gift from a friend of mine."

"Oh, sure thing chum. Wouldn't want to steal something after all I'm no thief." The man tosses the board to Rex who catches it.

After doing so he looks at Rex's friends scanning each one of them. But his eyes stop when he sees Pyra and her emerald core crystal.

Suddenly the man grabbed the huge claymore from his back and pointed it at Rex. "Hand over the merchandise!" he yelled with his Blade behind him ready to support.

Rex was startled by the sudden action. "Wha? But you gave back my-"

The man cuts off Rex's midspeech. "I'm not talking about the floating board! Though I might take that later," he whispered the last part to himself. "I'm talking about the Aegis and you, boy. Word has it that her Driver is some sort of shapeshifter. Can't let the legendary Blade be with a shifty guy like you."

Rex deadpans his eyes at the two after he hears their reason. "Oh wow," he sarcastically said. "Would you look at that another person who's trying to take Pyra away? You know I've dealt with this stuff for years. So, why don't you two just scuttle away before you get hurt." This was getting so old to the point. If Rex had a gold coin every time something like this happened. He would be the richest person on Alrest

Tora then joined Rex's side. "Meh-meh and what was that about you saying you no thief earlier?! And who are you!?"

"Hahahahaha!" the man began to laugh as he put the sword on his shoulders. "You can call Zeke. Zeke Von Genbu Bringer of Chaos! Or the Zekenator!" as he makes a bunch of exaggerated movements with his Blade somehow copying his every move.

Zeke then gestures to his Blade. "And this is my Blade Pandoria!" said Blade crossed her arms with a smirk.

'Zeke and Pandoria. Childish behaviour and a huge sword. And what was it that Pandoria said earlier… Bad luck? Wait, I remember them!'

Upon realizing who Zeke and Pandoria were, Rex broke into a cold sweat. The last time he interacted with the two he almost died. And after that, he swore to stay the fuck away from them if he valued his life and sanity.

"Guys we should probably back away from them now," Rex warned while backing away from the two.

Nia gave him an incredulous look. "These idiots? Why would we need to run away from them?"

"If you knew the destruction these two could leave behind in their path then you would do the same." Rex emotionlessly intoned as he remembers his meeting with these two 4 years ago.

Zeke grins in excitement at Rex's behaviour. "Ha! See, even the Driver of the Aegis is quaking in fear of my prowess and reputation!"

"The only thing I'm afraid of is your prowess to make everything around you have bad luck! Seriously, how is it possible for someone as unlucky as you to exist!?"

A record scratch could be heard throughout the entire area as everyone stared at Rex dumbfounded. This. This was the reason Rex was afraid of Zeke? Because he was bad luck?

"Wow, your bad luck is now bad even other people know it," Pandoria said, surprised while adjusting her glasses. "You know I'm just surprised it took this long for it to be known."

Zeke squawks at his Blade and Rex. "Oi! What do you mean you know me for my bad luck!" he then turns to Pandoria. "And you! You are supposed to support me here!"

Pandoria shakes her head tiredly and sighs. "Kinda hard to support you when I've been on the receiving end of your luck for years."

The Zekenator grits his teeth in anger and faces Rex's group. "You know what! Forget this I'm just gonna take you all on now and I won't stop! I'll chase you down to the ends of Alrest if I have to!" his sword then begins to charge up with electricity.

Rex weighed his options. If he ignored Zeke then he'll just chase them down. Fighting him would also be a hassle plus he doesn't want to hurt the flamboyant man too badly. So, the salvager decided to go with option three.

"Sorry Zeke but this is for your own good," Rex said as he cycled through his Omnitrix. When he found the form he was for Rex slammed down on the core. But not before saying. "The safest position for you is when you're knocked out."

A green flash lights up in the area causing those around to shield their eyes. When the light died down it revealed a fairy roughly about short no bigger than a person's head. The fairy had blue spikey hair and green eyes with teal skin colour. Three fingers adorned her hands and a green dress was her clothing with the Omnitrix symbol on her chest.

"Prrrr Pesky Dust Prrrr!"

Powers and abilities: Flight, enhanced speed and agility, Dream entering, Dream viewing, oneirokinesis and projectile sleep dust.

Description: an all-female species. The Nemuina may look weak and small but their sleep dust can affect almost any being in the universe. Subjects who are exposed to said dust for a prolonged period of time will stay asleep forever. Dream manipulation is another frightening power as they can not only create dreams but nightmares as well creating a literal hell for their enemies.

Fun fact: because this race is all female. Rex actually changes gender to a female when he turns into one of them.

"Prrrr sorry Zeke. But this is gonna hurt me more than it's gonna hurt you… well not really prrrr.'' With that said Pesky dust raised her hand and fired a cloud of yellow dust towards Zeke and Pandoria.

Zeke and Pandoria widen their eyes at Rex's transformation. "Wait that green light and symbol do you know fe-" whatever it was that Zeke was about to say. Was cut off as he and his Blade were knocked out once they inhaled the gas.

Seeing the two fall down unconscious. Pesky dust then flew down to the two and inspected them to make sure that they were asleep. After confirming so she nods and flies back to her friends.

Before she could say or do anything a huge shadow loomed over her. Getting a feeling of dread she looks up only to see Pyra looking at her the most serious face she's ever seen. Gulping a bit Pesky dust nervously asked. "Prrrr P-P-P-Pyra prrrr?"

That seemed to be the trigger as the Aegis let out a large squeal and squeezed the life out of Pesky dust. "Eeeeee! Oh, you're just too cute Rex!" Pyra was squishing the Nemuina between her breasts due to the fairy alien's size. It was like the alien was laying on a full-body pillow. A very squishy body pillow.

"P-p-p-p-prrrr P-P-Pyra l-let m-me g-go prrrr." Pesky dust begged as her whole body turned from teal to cherry red as she felt Pyra's soft breasts against her body. They felt like full-body marshmallows to the alien hero and it didn't help that she was subconsciously squeezing one of them with her body.

"Oh! Those purrs from you are even more adorable!" Pyra squeals even more from Rex's adorable purrs.

Everyone else looks dumbfounded at the scene for several reasons. One Zeke's lame introduction. Two Rex's reason for staying away from them and three Rex turning into a fairy.

After several minutes Pesky dust who was freed from Pyra's bosom prison was flying in the air-breathing hard and he slaps his Omnitrix core turning himself back to human with his face atomic red. Pyra was still on the side with a wide smile on her face. Nia was by Dromarch with an incredulous expression on both their faces. Poppi and Tora were poking the sleeping forms of Zeke and Pandoria with some sticks.

"Mhm. sensors indicate that both Driver and Blade are still asleep despite excessive poking. Rex, will they be okay?" Poppi asked the salvager.

"Huff huff. Yeah, they'll be fine just knocked out for a couple of hours. Probably having some nice dreams. I wonder what they're dreaming about though."

Inside Zeke's and Pandoria's dream

"All hail King Zeke Von Genbu Chaotic Bringer of Chaos!"

Inside Zeke's dream, the citizens of Tantal were cheering for their king who saved their country and the world.

"Oh, my king, I'm so happy for you!" a loud cheer was heard by Zeke's side as Pandoria hugs her beloved king with love and adoration.

"Hahahaha! That's right, it is I. The Zekenator descendant of the hero Addam and saviour of Alrest!" Zeke boasted in his usual flamboyant clothes.

A hand then is placed on top of Zeke's shoulder. The hand belonged to Eulogimenos, Zeke's father. "Son, I'm proud of you." The man smiles at his son. "You saved not only our country but the world too. You were right, we should've opened our isolated country to others."

Zeke rubs the back of his head sheepishly. "Oh, come on, old man, you were just stubborn that's it."

Eulogimenos laughs at that. "Right it seems your own stubbornness comes from me. Though it's safe to say a lot of your appearance comes from your mother."

Zeke turns a bit sombre at that. "Mom… What was she like."

Smiling sadly, Eulogimenos comforts his son. "Same as I've always told you she was someone who belonged from the stars."

"You know after all these years I still don't understand what that means right?"

"I know but I just want to share this moment with you, my son. You couldn't make me more proud."

Zeke begins to tear up a bit. "Dad," he whispered before he went to hug his father. "I can't believe it this is my dream and it's all mine."

Back in reality

"Mine, mine, mine….."

Zeke's unconscious body is currently repeating the word mine while his leg is twitching every now and then.

Rex and his friends backed away in the direction of Garfont village while holding their hands out with a creeped-out expression on their faces from Zeke's constant muttering.

"On second thought I'm not touching that concept within a ten-metre pole," Rex told his friends while trying to get away from… this.

"Yeah, good idea," Nia agreed. This was way too weird for her tastes.

"Meh Tora remember his daddypon told him of such people should Tora yell stranger danger?"

"Masterpon's current stranger is unconscious no need to yell danger."

"Uh, mistress Poppi, that's not what young master Tora meant," Dromarch explained to the artificial Blade.

"Rex, is it safe to leave them there," Pyra asked worried for the two's safety.

Rex waved her worries off. "Nah trust me these two remind me of the vreedle brothers hard to kill but common sense is nonexistent as air in space. They'll be fine."

But after they were a couple of metres away from the flamboyant pair a large laugh echoes through the area alerting them. "Ha! Haven't laughed that good in my life in a long time. Can't say I've ever seen anything like you too boy."

Rex and his friends turn to the voice and they see a massive man even taller than Zeke with a Blade even taller than him.

The man was urayan since there were scales on the sides of his face. His eyes were grey-brown with a large X-shaped scar on the middle of his face. His body was big and robust with a large set of green and blue armour protecting him.

His Blade was also a tall person as well. Its appearance was mostly humanoid but the avian attributes. The feathers were red, orange and green. A large pair of wings were behind him and around his neck was a pair of large inflated airbags.

Beside the duo were two other men, an ardainian and an urayan with both of them having common Blades.

"Gotta say didn't believe the rumours that the Aegis awakened especially the fact that her Driver's a shapeshifter. But if all you can turn into is a little fairy then I'm afraid you're not gonna get far." The man smirked arrogantly at Rex.

Frowning Rex returns the insult with his own. "Oh, and if you're such a capable warrior. Then you should know to never judge a book by its cover."

The large man's smile widened at hearing Rex's sassy comment. "Guess you're right about that. You may be a shrimp but I can see from your eyes that you're not normal. Well aside from the fact you can transform."

The goliath warrior pulls out his Blade weapon which was two dual scythes with his two henchmen pulling out a great axe and mega lance.

"Now then fighting by knockout gas isn't fun that's why I got Roc here too. Try to put me to sleep with some fancy powder and he'll just blow it away." The unknown man then enters a fighting stance ready to charge at his friends with his henchmen behind him. "Now hand the Aegis over kid." he threatened.

'Oh, of course.' Rex dully thought with half-lidded eyes seeing how much he dealt with stuff like this.

Sighing Rex lifts up his arm and activates the Omnitrix. "So, you like to think you're big huh." Rex taunts the man while cycling through his forms. "Then how about I show you that big isn't enough for HUMUNGOUSAUR!" Rex slams down on the core and the transformation is complete.

"SABER!"

Standing in Rex's place was not his vaxasaurian form but his new flesh-eater form. Looking at himself Rex sighs in annoyance. "Or Saber. Sure, Omnitrix give me the form I haven't tested out yet." Why does his goddamn watch keep mistransforming him?

Nia enters a battle stance with Tora as she looks at Rex funny. "Uh, maybe you should turn into something bigger if you have one." She advised while getting ready to fight with her twin rings.

Rex replies back. "It's not my fault! This thing doesn't always give me what I want!"

"Tora will offer to try to fix watchy. But only if he can get Rex Rex permis-"

"Tora no! I'm not letting you study it!"

Before their banter goes any further the large man charges straight at Rex with his scythes dual slashing.

Rex uses his instincts and pulls out his Blade weapon from his core and blocks both scythes with it. Surprisingly he only felt a bit of a strain when blocking. 'Huh maybe this form has more muscle than I thought'. He thought, surprised at his new form's strength.

Using his new strength Rex pushes the man back a couple of metres away. But the avian Blade Roc catches his Driver mid-air.

Using this opportunity Rex turns to Pyra and throws his junk sword towards her as she catches it. A look of surprise was on her face as Rex activates her Aegis broadsword.

"Well, no time to practice then the present I suppose. Pyra cover me!" Rex then charged towards his opponents.

"Wait Rex! I don't think that's how this works!" Pyra tries to warn her Driver as this was never attempted before in her memory.

'Look I don't get this either. But we have no time. Try battling with the old system while using Rex's sword.' Mythra suggested.

'But are you sure that's gonna work?' Pyra asked her sister.

'Look. Our Driver can transform into aliens. What we know as possible was thrown out the window when we became his Blade. But now he needs support. I would like to help. But can you give me some more time? Please?'

Hearing the desperation in Mythra's voice made Pyra nod as she rushed forward to defend Rex with his sword.

As the two were charging towards the massive warrior. A green glow appears from both their Aegis core crystals as the Omnitrix glows purple with it.

A blue affinity link automatically came from both of their bodies. The strange thing was. Both links met each other and connected causing it to become golden.

This shocked Pyra. A golden affinity link shows that the bond between the Driver and Blade was at maximum. Thus generating huge amounts of power. But a gold link requires Blade and Driver to have a close bond and it would take a couple of minutes to form in battle even if the Driver and Blade were good friends. But what's strange was the bond between her and Rex seemed way stronger than normal. It was almost as if it couldn't be broken.

Pyra decides to ignore this for now and aims to support Rex by taking out the bird Blade. She started by leaping towards her opponent going for an overhead slash. But her attempts were foiled by a gust of wind blowing her away.

She managed to land on her feet but glared back at her avian foe. 'His element's wind' Pyra realized. Taking this information Pyra began devising a plan. She tried to see if there were any arts Rex's sword gave her and found three. Choosing two in her mind she rushes towards the cliff her windy foe was standing on.

"X-Blaster!"

The sword in her hand glowed bright green as she slash it forward. An X-shaped energy attack emitted from the sword aiming for the edge of where Roc was.

Seeing the attack Roc took to the skies flying in the air to avoid the attack. But he didn't have any time to process the next thing headed for him.

"Omni-Smash!"

Roc saw Pyra going again with an overhead slash against him, this time her sword was charged with ether and she was above in the air. Reacting quickly he puts up a golden barrier to stop Pyra's attack. The shield held up for a few seconds before Pyra managed to smash through it, hitting Roc and sending him into the ground.

While Pyra and Roc were having their battle earlier Saber was having his. He charged at his oversized opponent with Pyra's sword lit up. The two clash weapons but Saber was the stronger one due to him being superhuman since he was now a flesh-eater. Using his superhuman strength and a loud roar Saber easily pushes his enemy Driver and flings him away. Not giving his opponent a chance to make a comeback, Saber somersaults into the and unleashes his art.

"Rolling Smash!"

The man looks and he widens his eyes seeing Saber coming at him overhead with an art. Growling, the buff man unleashed his own art.

"Muscle Uppercut!"

When the two arts met each other a small shockwave emitted through the area. It took all of the willpower of Saber's opponent in him order to not scream out in pain. The sheer amount of strength from Saber's rolling smash almost overwhelmed his own muscle uppercut. If it weren't for his huge muscles and training. The man would've surely had two broken arms.

"Roar!" with a huge yell Saber forces more strength into his arms breaking his opponent's defence. The Aegis sword was about to cut the man if it weren't for him jumping at the last moment. Regaining his footing the large urayan man then launches himself towards Saber with a flurry of attacks.

Saber then had to bring up his sword and guard multiple times. As Saber and the man clashed blade with the flesh-eater having the upper hand most of the time. But as the battle continued Saber frowned in thought.

'Something's not right… Oh, you've gotta be kidding me!?' Saber yelled in his head as figured out what was wrong.

He could tell since it was the skill that Tetrax taught. In order to tell your opponent's intent when their attacks clash with yours. And from what Saber is feeling this man is just testing them as Tetrax did to him 5 years ago. Meaning this man is just having fun with them and their lives aren't in any danger.

Pyra was staring at Roc who was getting up from her attack when all of a sudden. She gained new information in her head out of nowhere. 'We're not actually in any danger? Wait, how did I know that?' Where did this new information come from? She didn't even think of that but at the same time it's like she did.

"Roc! Back me up here and go all out, let's see what they can do!." huge Driver said as he tosses his dual scythes to his Blade to unleash a special.

The avian Blade nods to his driver and grabs his weapons. While doing so a huge whirlwind gathers around him as he unleashes his strongest special.

"Feather Typhoon!"

A ginormous twister appears as this was the power of a level 3 special, the most powerful special a Blade can accomplish by themselves without their Driver.

Pyra immediately needed her sword. If she had it then she could cancel Roc's special. Suddenly another thought appeared in her head. She could get her sword back but she needs to give Saber's sword back at the same time? 'What is this!?' Pyra thought confused. What's happening to her where are all these new thoughts coming from!?

Automatically though, Saber's sword was flung from her hands towards her owner and Pyra could see her Aegis sword being flung to her too. Grabbing the sword Pyra right away activated her level 1 special.

"Flame Nova!"

Crimson flames burst from Pyra, swings her sword around and the heat from her flames creates an immense explosion. The explosion produced massive amounts of heat which caused an air current to go upwards. This causes the tornado that Roc created to be dispersed.

After seeing the attack fail Saber looks around the area. He sees all of his friends fighting their own battles. Nia was fighting a guy with an axe which was difficult for her since she can't match her opponent's strength. Tora was also fighting a person with a spear which prevented him from doing a close-range attack since he has to keep guard from a distance. The only ones who were winning their battles on his side were him and Pyra.

Saber knew he had to do something and fast. Holding his sword tightly the Omnitrix wielder then focuses his instincts into activating any special abilities this form had. Almost every Blade he fought had an ability so it would make sense for him to have one too.

'Temporal field!' out of nowhere words appeared in Saber's head as a field of energy emitted from his body. The field instantaneously expanded to about 100 metres around him covering everyone around the area.

Saber looked around and saw that everyone no everything around him was moving so slow it was almost as if time had stopped. Looking in awe, Saber slowly walked up to a flower petal that was just above him suspended in the air, unable to move or rather moving so slow he couldn't see it move at all. Grabbing it the flesh-eater looks at the petal in fascination. Looking around again he also saw the waterfall not too far from him was also frozen with droplets of water in the air. The only indication of anything moving at all was the sunbeams that were being filtered into the titan. But even light itself was moving at an impossibly slower pace than it should.

Saber then realized something else. He could feel it. Whatever this time manipulation was, it was running out. He maybe only had a few seconds left before it ran out. So, he had around 10-15 seconds of using this ability since that's how much time has almost passed by.

Grabbing his sword, Saber then lets his body go into autopilot. Again using his instincts the flesh-eater taps into his power ready to unleash a special.

"XLR8 Slash!"

Behind Saber, a silhouette of XLR8 appears behind him. This grants the Omnitrix wielder some of XLR8's powers to Saber. In a burst of speed and dust Saber kicks off faster than the speed of lightning itself.

He first ran towards Nia's opponent, Zuo if he remembered correctly. Swinging his sword towards Zuo's axe with all his strength while at the speeds he's moving causes the great axe to shatter into a thousand pieces easily. Next Saber reels his fist back and punches Zuo in the face sending him flying back several feet.

Next Saber turns his head towards Tora's opponent Yew. Again moving faster than the eye can see, Saber chops Yew's mega lance into tiny parts and delivers a roundhouse kick to Yew's face.

Finally, Rex turns towards his opponent. The giant man was standing still with both dual scythes ready to attack. Dashing towards the man, Rex raises his sword and slices both of the dual scythes in half before placing it under his opponent's neck.

At that moment time resumed its normal pace and screams of pain radiated throughout the battle. The giant urayan man that was at the mercy of Saber's sword froze the moment he realized a blade was under his neck. Taking a look at his comrades, he saw Yew and Zuo on the ground in pain holding their faces with their weapons destroyed.

He looked down at Saber with a drop of sweat falling off his face as he nervously thought. 'Maybe this was a bad idea. The Aegis's Driver is probably stronger than his Blade.' Still, he wasn't gonna lose face in this situation.

"So, what are you gonna do now kid?" the Urayan man asked Saber.

With a smirk Saber taps his Omnitrix core and transforms back into Rex. The boy had a cheeky smile on his face as he let out a small laugh. "Well, I think the first thing I'm gonna do is end this silly game and head to Garfont village. Do you know the way, old man?"

"Oi! Just because my hair's white doesn't mean I'm old!" The man shakes his head in annoyance at Rex's insult. "Kids these days I swear are way ruder than they were back in my day," he muttered while shaking his head.

Suddenly Nia came up behind Rex with a pissed-off look on her face and she pulled on his ear shouting. "Oi Rex! What the hell are you thinking?! They're the enemy!"

Rex winces in pain as he feels Nia's nagging ringing in his brain. Off in the distance Pyra also gets a headache from it as she tries to nurse her head.

"They're not. I could tell they were just testing us to see what kind of people we are. Am I correct?" Rex explained while looking at the silver haired man.

The silver-haired man laughed at Rex's explanation. "Ha ha ha. Figured that out while we were fighting eh?." Suddenly his smile turned to a sad frown upon realizing something up with Rex. "That's not something a kid your age should know. You've been through a lot haven't you kid?" Someone as young as Rex shouldn't have the skill to pick up an opponent's intent from a fight. Unless they've been through a lot of battles.

Rex flinched at the comment but he didn't say anything. This was only noticed by Pyra who was staring at him worryingly.

Rex shakes off the comment with a smile on his face. "So, what's your name? Can't exactly call you old man since that's not a name."

"Oi! Like I said, I'm not that old! And if you want a name it's Vandham, be sure to remember that!"

Rex and all his friends could only blink at that and let out one word at the same time.

""EEEEEHHHHH!?""

'Well somehow I beat up the guy that's supposed to help us… way to go Rex.'

I'm so sorry for the late update. A couple of real life problems came up and I've been losing my motivation to write. Don't worry this story isn't dead. If it was dead I would tell you guys.

Also grammar might be a bit bad since I had the oh so brilliant idea of writing my entire story first then fixing it using grammarly. Which don't do it since grammarly and my computer can't process all of my mistakes. (most of it are just commas)

By the way Xenoblade 3 is coming out this year! I can't wait for it to come out. All the characters look so cool too. Maybe I'll tie my story into the story of Xenoblade 3 somehow. (hey Ben 10 has a lot of dimensional and time travel in it.)

Now as for Rex's temporal field. If you're wondering how much it slows down time. Picture this, if Jin were to uses his whole fast as light thing while temporal field is up. He would be moving at normal speed. So it doesn't completely stop things as fast as light and it only lasts for 10 seconds and needs a 1 minute recharge.

Pyra and Rex being a couple this early. With all the romantic tension I wrote between the two I think this is a good time for them to start being together. Plus I HATE HOW WE NEVER GOT A STRAIGHT "I LOVE YOU" OR A KISS IN THE GAME! SO, YOU KNOW WHAT I'LL WRITE THEM BEING A COUPLE MYSELF.

Also I may write Brighid and Ursula back into the harem since people kinda liked the idea. So, I guess their back.

And as for what Pyra felt while fighting with Saber. It's a little concept I have. Both of them are each others Driver and Blade at the same time. So they can fight alongside one another while using the Tornan system. While supplying power to each other like the modern system at the same time. And also as a benefit of them sharing a core. I made it so when Rex is Saber and while he battles with Pyra both of them can hear each other's thoughts. Like their minds are one.

Somerandomhomosapiens: There is a good explanation as to how Pneuma is split from Pyra and Mythra but that's like during the finale. And sorry about not updating in a month kinda broke my word huh.

Maxwolf936: well here's Saber's first battle. Kinda short but as strong as Vandham is. He might as well have been fighting a full powered Jin for like 10 seconds and that guy stomped Rex's friends in one.

Black latios: The Aegis has the data of all Blades and as for reproduction. You know what last chapter I already wrote that Myhtra had a daughter with Rex so yes they can reproduce. Rex can heal Nia but he doesn't know that she's a flesh-eater.
