last time: Sasha and Viran trained for the first time since Lana was born.

Now: Sasha receives a call about a new mission.

Chapter 15- Call from Kelce

A couple of days later, Sasha was sitting on the couch in the living room working on going through another medical journal from Kelce. She was leaning over the center table as she took notes on one datapad and scrolled through the book on the other. Cien engrossed in her own datapad, typing something. Sasha was so focused on it, she didn't even notice someone enter the living room.

"Sash'ika, got a call." Kyr said, poking his head around the corner into the living room.

"One second," Sasha said, not looking up from her datapad as she wrapped by the note she was writing down. "Okay, what's up?" She asked looking up at him.

"Doc's on the line for ya." Kyr said, slipping back around the corner.

"Kelce's calling?" Sasha asked, surprised. She glanced at Cien. "I guess I'll be right back."

Sasha got up from the couch and headed towards the main comms to the house. When she got there, she saw a light on the console blinking. Meaning the other person was on hold. She hit the button and answered.

"Sasha here," she said.

"Hey, Sasha! It's Kelce," Kelce's voice filled the commline. "How's it going?"

"Great," Sasha said with a smile. "I was actually working through one of the journals you gave me, but what's up?"

"That's awesome. Keep it up," Kelce said. "Anyway, I was calling because I'm headed to Nivon Five to help fix up an old medical center there and I was wondering if you would be interested in joining me on this little endeavor. Thought it might be good practice for ya."

"Nivon Five? Really?" Sasha asked, surprised.

"Yeah, is there something wrong with Nivon Five?" Kelce asked, confused.

"No, I just haven't been there since I was like twenty," Sasha explained. "It was one of the planets we hid on during the Empire."

"Ah I see," Kelce said, understanding. "Well they are now working with the New Republic and are trying to get their medical center up to code. So do you wanna come give me a hand with it?"

"Yes, I would love to," Sasha said, excitedly. "I'll just need to let the others know then I can be there as soon as I can."

"Excellent," Kelce said excitedly. "I'm heading out today. Contact me once you are headed there, okay?"

"Will do," Sasha said.

"Later," Kelce said before hanging up.

Sasha beamed and rushed back to the living room to tell Cien. "Hey Cien! Guess what?" She asked as she ran into the living room. "Oh hey, Vir."

"What?" Cien asked, looking up at her.

Viran was in there now, lounging on the couch with Lana on the floor playing with her toys.

"Hey hun, what's up?" He asked, curiously.

"Kelce just called about a job," Sasha explained as she grinned. "He is going to help fix up a medical center on Nivon Five and he wants me to come help!"

"Nivon Five?" Viran asked incredulously. "Oh boy…" He mumbled.

"Nivon Five?" Cien asked curiously looking between them.

"It was one of the planets we hid on during the Empire," Sasha explained. "And it's also the planet where Viran set the hangar on fire. Twice."

"Twice?" Cien asked with a smirk, looking at Viran.

"Hey! That was not my fault," Viran exclaimed as he sat up on the couch. "They had the worst wiring this side of the Outer Rim when it came to their systems. I just tried to fix them. Twice."

"It's the only job Viran had that he got fired from," Sasha said as she made a pun. "Literally."

"Yeah, yeah," Viran groaned as he folded his arms.

"Well I was going to ask if either of you wanted to go with me," Sasha offered the two of them.

"I'm pretty sure my old boss is still running the place and would most likely kill me on sight. I think I'll pass this time. Plus someone needs to be here with Lana and it sounds incredibly boring," Viran said matter of fact like.

"Okay, how about you Cien?' Sasha asked.

"I," she paused, "I still need to stay here with Kyr, I think." She said, looking between Sasha and Viran.

Sasha nodded, understanding why. "Fair enough. Then I guess I'll go ask Oppie," she said. "Do either of you know where he is right now?"

"No." Cien answered. "I think I might have -" Everyone in the room jumped as a distant explosion rang through the house. And Cien buried her hands in her face. "They're outside chopping firewood." She said in an annoyed tone.

Sasha huffed. "Alright," she said, now understanding what Cien had to go through while they were gone. "Why aren't you out there with them, Viran?" She asked him.

"Lana was covered in her lunch and I was giving her a bath," Viran said.

"Then let's go stop them before they blow up half of Haven," Sasha said as she made her way to the door.

"Oh I've got to see this," Viran said, getting up from the couch. "Can you watch Lana for a few minutes?" He asked Cien as he gestured towards his daughter. "Or are you coming with us?"

"No, I can watch her." Cien said, looking down at the child and putting her datapad aside.

"Thanks," Viran said as he rushed after Sasha.

Sasha headed out of the house and out towards the tree line where the explosion came from. Kyr and Op were in the process of gathering the larger splinters and logs of wood from the site, and Kyr was taking every opportunity he could to use Op's smaller parry saber to cut overly large wood chunks down to the proper size for a log. Sasha stopped a few meters away with her hands on her hips. Viran stopped just a meter behind her, an amused expression on his face.

"What the hell are you two doing?" Sasha asked them, annoyance in her tone obvious.

Oppie stopped and looked at her. "Cutting firewood, this is a lot faster than using the saw." He said, recognizing her tone.

"I can see that," Sasha said. "But do you need to blow up Haven in order to do so?"

Kyr looked at her incredulously. "I know how to handle explosives. We're just doing a breaching charge every few meters along the trunk once it's felled."

Sasha rubbed her eyes with her fingers as she groaned. "Okay, look I just came out here to ask Op a question, but I swear you two are going to hurt yourselves doing something so stupid." She dropped her hand. "And I'm not going to patch you up when you do."

Viran snickered at that. Sasha shot him a glare and he immediately stopped. She then looked back to Kyr and Oppie.

Kyr and Oppie looked between each other and Kyr just shrugged. Oppie then turned back to Sasha. "What were you going to ask?"

"Kelce called asking if I wanted to help him fix up a medical center on Nivon Five," Sasha said after a moment. "I was wondering if you wanted to come with me. Cien isn't interested. Viran is likely to be arrested if he goes back there. And I didn't know if it was up your alley Kyr."

Kyr just shrugged. "Nivon's kinda boring."

Oppie glanced at him and then back to Sasha. "Sure, I haven't been out of the house in a while. When do we need to go?" He asked.

"Kelce is leaving today from the 19th," Sasha said as her stance relaxed. "I was thinking as soon as we can or this evening at the latest."

"Sounds good to me. I'll go get packed." He walked over to grab the lightsaber from Kyr's hand.

"And you're just leaving me out here to gather all the wood?" Kyr asked slightly incredulously.

"Yep." Oppie said with a grin.

Kyr extinguished the saber and handed it over. "Hmph. Vir, you want to help?" He asked, looking over at him.

"Sure, I'll help," Viran said with a chuckle as he grabbed his saber from his belt.

"Don't hurt yourselves," Sasha warned before turning back to the house to go start packing.

"We won't," Viran promised.

Sasha rolled her eyes as she kept walking back to the house.

"So, Vir, what do you know about breaching charges?" Kyr asked as his new partner in crime as he stepped forward.

"Are you sure you guys will be okay while we are gone?" Sasha asked for the hundredth time.

Viran chuckled as he walked alongside her as he carried Lana and as they headed for the hanger. "Yes, we will be fine. Don't worry, okay?" He said as he wrapped an arm around her.

"Okay," Sasha said as they entered the hangar where Kyr and Cien were there talking with Oppie.

"You guys want me to pick up anything for you?" Oppie asked Kyr and Cien.

"Nah." Kyr said. "Just have as much fun as you can on the trip."

"Oh, I'm sure we'll have a great time." Oppie said. "Setting up medical facilities is like my idea of a vacation." Oppie said with a smirk.

"Umm…" Kyr scratched his head.

"Sasha will be doing all the work," Oppie clarified.

"Ah, okay." Kyr said with a curious look.

"Well take care of yourself, see you when you get back." Cien said, before she went off to hug Sasha.

"Hey I hope Viran, Kyr and Lana won't be too much trouble for you," Sasha joked as Cien approached her.

"Oh don't worry, Lana will be here to help." She pulled Sasha into a hug. "Have fun."

Sasha hugged her back. "We will," she said before pulling away and approaching Kyr and Oppie passed her to take his bag into the ship. "Take care Kyr."

"You too Sash'ika." He said, "keep Op safe, you never know when he'll do something crazy."

"I'm more worried about you and Viran driving Cien crazy than Oppie doing something crazy right now," Sasha said with a chuckle. "But I'll look out for him."

"Yeah, Viran and Op are always getting into mischief." Kyr said with an exasperated shake of his head. "It's all I can do to keep them in line."

Cien rolled her eyes and elbowed him hard, and he recoiled as if he had been struck a grievous blow.

"And cyar'ika is always hitting me." He said with a long, distressed tone.

"Oh stop." Cien said exasperated.

Sasha chuckled at that. "See ya later, Kyr," she said before stepping forward to give him a hug. He returned her hug with a pat on her back and stepped away.

"Take care of each other, Op," Viran said as Sasha was saying bye to Kyr.

"We will. Have fun staying home. Keep Kyr entertained." He said with a smile.

"Oh I will," Viran said with a chuckle. "Say bye Lana."

Lana babbled as she waved bye to Oppie.

"Bye bye Lana," Oppie said, waving to her with a smile.

"Alright, we should get going," Sasha said as she approached them. She then turned to Viran and Lana as Oppie headed to the ship. "Take care, hun."

"I will," Viran said. "Stay safe and contact us when you get there."

"We will," Sasha said with a nod. She then pulled them both into a hug. "I'll miss you guys. And I love you both."

"Love you too, Sash," Viran said as he wrapped her up with one arm while the other still supported Lana. "Don't do anything I would do. And if you run into trouble, you guys call us asap." He said as he pulled away slightly.

"Okay, we will. Don't worry," Sasha said with a smile.

Viran hesitated as he tried to figure out what to say next.

"What is it?" Sasha asked with a slight frown as she noticed his

"I've just got this strange feeling in the back of my mind about this mission," Viran said, anxiously.

"Viran, we're going to Nivon Five. The worst thing there was your boss and those street gangs Op told us to avoid," Sasha said as she caressed his cheek. "We'll be fine. Besides, we'll be with Kelce. And if something goes wrong, he'll be there to give us immediate back up, okay?"

"Yeah, okay," Viran nodded. "I think I'm just worried since the cartel stuff about any of us going out on a job right now."

Sasha placed her forehead against his. "I understand. I'm a little anxious about it too, but I'm not worried," she said. "Selina is gone. The cartel is being handled by the New Republic. We are no danger. But I promise we will be safe and keep you updated on our status if anything changes," she promised.

"Alright," Viran said with a sigh. "You're right. I'm just being overprotective. But can you blame me? I've always been protective of you."

"I know," Sasha said with a smile.

Viran then leaned forward and gave Sasha a soothing kiss. They held it for a long moment. Then Sasha pulled away and planted a kiss on Lana's forehead.

"Be good, rugrat," she said.

Lana frowned as she seemed to know what was happening. "Dada…" she said as she reached for Sasha.

"No it's Mama," Sasha corrected with a chuckle before caressing Lana's cheek. "And be a good girl. Mama will be home soon."

Lana nodded as she curled into Viran, who held her tightly. Sasha leaned in and gave Viran one more kiss before slowly backing away and heading for the ramp of the ship. She waved bye as the ramp raised up. It broke her heart to leave them, but they were only going to be gone a few days. And the only thing dangerous on Nivon Five were the street gangs as she had reminded Viran, and back then they were able to handle them just fine. But there was a slight nag in the back of her mind that told her to be cautious. The same nag she was sure was tugging at Viran's mind too. To be cautious of what, she did not know, but it wasn't a concern at the moment. She shook the feeling away as she moved further into the ship. She dropped her bag in the passenger compartment before joining Oppie in the cockpit.

"Ready when you are," she said as she took a seat in the co-pilot's chair.
