Caulifla and Kale What IF: Chapter Eighteen- "Kale The Pride Trooper?"

Pride Trooper's Headquarters (Year 766-Fourteen Years Ago/Universe 11)

?: (Drops a basket in front of the entrance) Be safe, my little one. (Knocks on the door, before running away)

?: (Opens the door) Hello? Who goes there? (Looks at the basket below) Oh...Who dropped this basket here? (Picks up the basket, seeing a light green blanket) Whoever dropped this, must have been a good fan of ours. I'll notify Top about this. (Closes the door behind her and walks down the hallway)

Top's Office…

?: (Knocks on the door) Top? This is Janet, the scientist!? I have something to tell you!

Top: (Opens the door) Yes, Janet. (Sees Janet and the basket) Oh! Is this a gift basket? We always get those in the middle of the night. (Rubs the back of his head pridefully)

Janet: No...I think that this basket is different. It doesn't have any essentials or anything valuable. It does have a small note on the side. It says… "Please take care of my child. She's only a small one and should be taken care of by someone responsible. I beg of you, stranger,...don't let anything bad happen to my child" signed...anonymous. (Unwraps the blanket, revealing a baby girl) It's a girl. She seems to be a humanoid, just like the general. (Looks at Top) What should we do with her?

Top: (Rubs his chin) We don't know. We are the Pride Troopers and we must take care of everyone in this universe, even the small ones. First, we need someone to watch over this child. I can't do it, because I'm full of work. You can't do it, because of the dangerous science stuff around the lab. It has to be someone, who is not that busy at the time being. (Closes his eyes for a moment) …

Janet: How about...Jiren? He seems to be meditating and doesn't have that much work behind him. Will he be able to take care of this child?

Top: (Opens his eyes to look at Janet) You make a good statement, Janet. Jiren is not that busy and his work is not that dangerous. You sent him the message while bringing the baby to him. I hope that he understands the issue. This might be good for him to understand trust. He has been absent from us lately.

Janet: (Rolls her eyes) Like all of the time? Yeah...I'll go tell him. Thanks, Top! (Leaves the office)

In the Pride Troopers' headquarters, the Pride Troopers work hard to keep the universe as safe as possible. They also keep a smile on their faces through the hard times that they face. But one trooper doesn't show as many positive emotions as the rest do. He is in his room, meditating over his bed. He concentrates on one image that has been on his mind for quite some time. He sees a dark figure with red, glowing eyes, coming toward him. He thinks of killing him one day and avenging the people that he killed in the past. His door knocks, causing him to stop his meditation. He walks to the door, and opens it, seeing Janet with a basket. "Hello, Janet. What are you doing here? Is there another experiment that you would like to show me?" said Jiren, the strongest warrior in the universe. Janet tells Jiren that he is asked by Top to take care of a baby for him. She explains the letter that the stranger left at the entrance door and the baby being from a different race. She later reveals the baby to Jiren, showing its face to him. Jiren makes his usual bored, bland expression at the baby girl, before looking at Janet with a concerning expression. He asks her if it's okay for him to take care of a baby until they find the child's parents. Janet doesn't know how long, but she will notify him about it. "It's going to take me a while to find her parents, but for the time being, she will be an official Pride Trooper, under your watch," said Janet with a smile. Jiren, for the first time in his life, makes a shocked expression, after that comment. He says to the scientist that he can't take care of a baby and she can't make her a Pride Trooper on the dot. Janet did talk to Top about it and he said that it was okay. Jiren seems to be getting into the message since he thinks of the leader as the only person that he could trust around here. He nods, grunting at the thought of him watching over a child for god knows how long. After that, Janet begins to leave the area, but not before naming the child. "The letter on the back, says that the child's name is Kale. I like the name," said Janet with a smile, as she leaves the area, only Jiren, and Kale alone. Jiren looks at the baby one last time, thinking of himself as a child. He slowly smiles a little, knowing that he has a sort of second chance at a happier life. He puts Kale in a soft spot on his bed, before preparing himself for bed. Jiren turns off the lights, goes to bed, and Kale follows suit. This is the start of something new for both Jiren and Kale. Both of their goals will be solved and it's through their trust and connection to each other.

Pride Trooper's Headquarters, Cafe Area (Year 780-Present Day)

It's the present day and the Pride Troopers are still growing by the number of new members. Over a million troopers are now in the many, many hundreds of headquarters around the universe. In this headquarters on Planet Netifss, the Pride Troopers are having lunch. Around the big table on the far right are the elites. They are the top dogs when it comes to protecting the universe from harm and evil. They have some time together, talking about their days, the missions that they were on, and how they were going to spend the rest of the day outside of the headquarters. Just near the table, about two feet to the left is another Pride Trooper. She's from the junior level, meaning that she only does citizen situation on Planet Netifss. She sees the elite team with a shy look, wanting to be in the action. She can't force herself to do it, because of her shy personality. She also has one of the prettiest styles around here, showing off a ponytail, some dark grey eyes with black pupils, and some lipstick for a bit of fashion. Without her noticing, Janet, the scientist of the headquarters, sits next to Kale. Kale becomes stuttered, after noticing Janet's presence. "Oh! I'm sorry, Kale! I just want to sit next to you. How's your day going? Did anything important?" said Janet with a smile on her face. Kale shyly looks away for a moment, before telling Janet that she had a good time. She stutters a little during her dialogue, but Janet understands the information well. She later looks around the area, searching for someone. "Where is Jiren? He was supposed to report your actions to Top. I'm guessing that he's meditating in his room. (Looks at Kale) Kale? I want you to go up to his room and-" said Janet, as she sees Kale shaking in fear) "I-I don't want to, Janet. Y-You know how he is when he meditates. I-I don't want to make him angry at me with those black eyes of his" said Kale, as she shyly looks away once more. Janet understands that Jiren has been rough on Kale, ever since he was tasked to watch over her as a baby. It has been fourteen years and she hasn't found Kale's parents yet. She pats Kale on the back, saying that everything will be fine. "Just be brave and don't let him scare you. Got it?" said Janet, as she smiles some more. Kale feels calmer when Janet is around. She nods her head with a smile, saying that she will. After lunch is over, Kale walks up to Jiren's room, ready to talk to him face to face.

Jiren's Room...

Kale: (Shyly looks at the door) (I don't know if I should do this. Jiren is the strongest member in the group and...and...when he wants some improvement from me, I just say, "I can't do that. I just can't!" But...Janet did say that I shouldn't be afraid of him. He doesn't tell me what to do. I'm going to tell him straight!) (Takes a deep breath, knocks on the door, and straightens) Okay.

Jiren: (Meditates over his bed) Ah...Nothing but peace and quie-

(Door knocks some more)

Jiren: (Opens one of his eyes, looks at the door) Hm...It must be the mailman. Mostly going to be fan mail. (Closes his one eye) Now...back to my-

Kale: (Knocks on the door) J-Jiren? I-I have something to t-tell you.

Jiren: (Grunts) Not now! I'm in the middle of my meditation. Can you talk to me later?

Kale: U-Uh...I-I can't. Top says that I need to tell you about my missions. Can I just talk to you about them right now? You know. B-Behind this door?

Jiren: (Sighs) ...I don't have time for this. I need at least three hours of meditation and no junior-level brat is going to interrupt it. Now go away! NOW!

Kale: (Makes a sad expression) Uh...A-Are you sure? It's just g-going to be quick.

Jiren: Kale!? Don't make me come out of this room and train you! And this time, I'm not going to go easy on you! NOW GO AWAY!

Kale: (Eyes widen) …

Dyspo: (Sees Kale) Oh, it's Kale. (Walks up to Kale) Hey, Kale? How are you and Jiren doing?

Kale: …

Dyspo: (Raises his eyebrow) Huh? What seems to be the matter? Cat got your- (Gets grabbed by Kale)

Kale: (Grunts) … (Looks at Dyspo with an angry expression) Leave me alone! I DON'T WANT YOU HERE! (Throws Dyspo to the other side)

Dyspo: Guh! Damn! I didn't know that you had enough power! (Sees Kale glowing green) W-What is this!?

Three Minutes Later...

Jiren: And…there! (Opens his eyes, stops meditating, and gets off of bed) My meditation is done. Now...for that report. I've heard that Kale rescued a group of children without being anxious. That is some good improvement. That is what I would like to see her do. (Hears his watch ringing) Top? This is Jiren. What-

Top: Jiren! Kale is attacking the troopers! She's in the training area! Come here NOW! (hangs up)

Jiren: (Eyes widen in shock) No! (Runs out of the room)

Jiren runs out of the room as fast as he can. He knows that when Kale gets angry, she can release her full power without knowing how to control it. He makes it to the training area, where the doors are broken and the walls have burnt marks on them. He runs into the room, seeing the many junior and the elite troopers on the floor. They don't have any major injuries, so they're fine. He later sees a giant, muscular woman with green, spiky hair, lifting the leader with one arm. She releases a roar that shakes the room and outside of it. Jiren slowly walks to the giant woman, while whispering to Top to he'll take care of this. The leader understands and kicks himself free from the giant woman's grasp. The woman growls from this, before turning around, seeing Jiren. She growls some more, making her angry expression more terrifying. Jiren tells Kale, the giant woman, to calm down. "This is the third time that this has happened! Just calm down, Kale!" said Jiren. Kale roars out, seemingly not listening to Jiren. With that, the trooper uses his eye glare to toss Kale backward to a wall, leaving a huge dent. Afterward, he rapidly runs to her, delivering her a neck chop to the neck. Kale stops moving for a quick second until her green aura is gone from her system. She closes her eyes, begins to shrink back to normal, and slump against the dented walls behind her. Jiren takes a few deep breaths, before feeling a tap on his shoulder. He makes an irritated expression, knowing full well that he isn't going to be laid off that easily. He turns around, seeing Top with his angry expression, while the rest of the troopers are slowly getting off of the floor. "Jiren? Carry Kale to the nurse's office. You and I are going to have a long talk" said Top. Jiren, although he would want to go back to his normal daily routine, decides to go with Top to his office. The rest of the other troopers outside of the room, begin to clean Kale's rampage in the training area.

Nurse's Office (One Hour Later)

Kale: (Slowly opens her eyes) W-What happened? (Sits up, looks around the room) W-Where am I?

Janet: (Walks into the office) Kale? (Looks at Kale) Are you okay? You rampaged again.

Kale: (Looks at Janet) Janet. Oh...Y-You said that I rampaged again? (Makes a sad expression) It happened again. I don't understand why I had to feel this emotion, every time Jiren doesn't want to-

Janet: Kale? (Pats on Kale's back) I know that Jiren is a bit stern when it comes to social activity, but...don't let that bother you. I know that you can be your person. You just have to be...aware that your shyness is a good thing. Now, Top told me that he and Jiren had talked about what happened. Since Jiren was supposed to watch your every move, including your emotions, you and him will be spending the week together. The rest of the three days.

Kale: (Eyes widen) Me...and J-Jiren!? For the rest of the week!?

Janet: Hehehe! Hey! At least you get the chance to talk to him more. He needs someone to talk to, besides me and Top. This is also good for your social skills. You want to talk to other people better. Do you?

Kale: (Shyly looks away) I do. I really do, but I'm too afraid of what he might say to me.

Janet: Then don't be. Jiren has gone through a harder time than you have. IF you two can manage each other's feelings, then everything will be dandy. Just trust me that you can be a brave trooper for all of us. To me, at least. (Extends her left palm to Kale) Justice? (Smiles)

Kale: (Looks at Janet) Uh...(Looks at the hand) (I do want to be braver in the future...Okay! I'll take the challenge!) (Gives Janet a high five) Justice!

Pride Trooper's Headquarters, Outside (The Next Day)

It's the next day, after breakfast, and Jiren is waiting outside for Kale. Top has organized a play date for the two, after what happened in the training room yesterday. Jiren doesn't want to get into this, because it was mostly Kale's fault that the training room was ruined in the first place. He sees the door open, watching Kale walk out of there. She shyly looks away from the presence of the warrior, before saying to him that she's sorry. "I-I was mad that you ignored my words. I-I hope that you're still not mad at me. A-Are you?" said Kale as she shyly looks at Jiren with a depressed expression. Jiren feels bad for making Kale this sad. All that he wanted was to be alone, but he was tasked to watch over Kale until her parents are found. He says that he was mostly sorry for not listening to her and she shouldn't have to apologize to him. "Let's just...(sighs) Go with the playdate that Top has organized for us. Okay?" said Jiren. Kale is shocked by how Jiren said that he was sorry for not listening to her. After that, the two leave the headquarters for their play date. What was the playdate that Top organized for them to go through? Well...it's a carnival with free rides for the Pride Troopers! Jiren and Kale make it to the carnival, seeing the many people walking into the area. Kale makes a scared expression and hides behind Jiren while saying that she isn't used to being around other people. Jiren sighs at this, knowing that Kale is extremely shy. He tells her to stay with her and never wander off. Kale stays behind Jiren's back, listening to his every word. With that settled, the two go into the carnival for their play date.

Outside of Carnival (Two Hours and Thirty-Five Minutes Later)

Kale: (Sits next to Jiren) I-It was a good time. Wasn't it, Jiren? (Smiles at Jiren)

Jiren: (Closes his eyes, crosses his eyes, and grunts) I think that it was. The food was subpar and the rides were...enjoyable to say at least.

Kale: (Raises her eyebrow) Janet said that you had a hard time than I had. I never knew my parents, yet she's on the case of where they are. Do you have any parents that loved you?

Jiren: (Opens his eyes, looking at Kale) Of course I did. My parents loved me for who I was. They never judged me for what I did around the house. (Smiles) They were...everything to me. That moment was ruined when a killer murdered them. I was just five years old when that happened. It was heartbreaking to see them go this early. Gladly, my master saved me, trained me to become strong, and I made friends.

Kale: (Eyes widen) Wow! You had friends?

Jiren: Of course I did. (Frowns) But...the same killer murdered my friends and my master right in front of me. I wasn't strong enough to beat him. I tried to find another group to aid me, but they ran away from me. They don't want to end up as they did, so...(Makes an angrily sad expression) I ran away from my home planet, trained on my own, until I was well good enough to join the Pride Troopers, and made sure that the killer was found. (Looks at Kale) Kale? I know that you have enough power to make a difference, but when it comes to your life, you have to make the best decision that will make or break your goals. What are your goals?

Kale: M-My goal is to be more social with a small group of people. The juniors were a good one, but I want to talk to people outside of the headquarters. (Looks at the sky) I want to...find that perfect someone, who I could talk to, without stuttering a lot. But...(Makes a sad expression, while looking at her hands) With this power inside of me, and my emotions getting the better of me...I don't think that I can do this. (Closes her eyes) I don't want to hurt people and feel sorry for it.

Jiren: (Sighs) So, you want to control your powers and learn to be more social? I guess I can work with teaching you how to control your powers. Janet will teach you how to overcome your shyness. Everything will be okay. (Pats Kale on the back) You'll see it when you put enough effort into it.

Kale: (Looks at Jiren with tears in her eyes) J-Jiren?

After talking for a while, the two leave the carnival and head back to the headquarters. Over the past three days of hanging out with each other, Kale begins to learn more about Jiren's past. How he joined the Pride Troopers, how the mission that he was in was easy for him to complete, and many more. She even learns how to control her powers completely, through the use of meditation. After the three days were up, Kale was ready to go through the goals of becoming more social and controlling her abilities on her own. She spends the next thirty to forty minutes after lunch meditating, going to Janet's office for some advice on social activity, and training in the training rooms to improve her strength. She was developing into her the person that she has always dreamed about.

Outside of PTH (Two Months Later)

Two months had passed and Kale is on her break from her missions. She sits next to a pudgy, blue alien by the name of Limo. She and him first met one month ago, when Kale was shopping for food. She begins to like Limo, as he is as shy as she is. This makes her goals a bit more relatable, as she tries not to shudder or turn away from a conversation. The two get along a good time, making Limo pop the question. "Kale? D-Do you want to...m-make a date, after this? Y-you, pick the date, while I pick the location. I-is that okay with you?" said Limo. Kale is shocked to hear this from him, not from herself. Kale nods, saying that it would be a good idea. She just needs the approval of one person in particular. After their time together, Limo and Kale leave each other alone. The female junior returns to the headquarters with a smile on her face. Her goals are coming together like a sown piece of cloth to a ripped blanket. She makes it to Jiren's room, both nervous and concerned about what he will say to her. She knocks on the door and waits for him to answer. The door opens, revealing Jiren looking at Kale. "J-Jiren? I just got a question from Limo. He says that he would like a date with me. I-is that okay with you?" said Kale. Jiren looks at Kale with a serious expression, thinking about it. He says that she can go with him. "I know of a place for you two to have a first date. So, Kale? Are you available for a quick meditation with me?" said Jiren with a smile. This is the first time that Kale has heard Jiren tell her if she would like to meditate with him. She smiles pridefully and nods, saying that she has time for it. With that, the two join into the room, with their legs crossed, their hands in their laps, and their auras covering their bodies. They begin to float off of the floor, concentrating on their thoughts and power control. "Jiren?" said Kale, with her eyes closed. "What is it?" said Jiren with his eyes closed. "Thank you," said Kale with a smile on her face. Jiren, shocked that he heard a thank you from Kale, decides to smile widely. "You're welcome," said Jiren, as the two continue their long meditation together.
