Well, welcome to my first ever story here on the site. I've been meaning to take a crack at writing stories since it's been a passion of mine to be a writer as a hobby. So, pardon me if my inexperience comes to light when I write. I hope it will get better, so criticism will be appreciated for the chapters to come.

I will also look for a beta-reader, so if someone is willing to, let me know so I can be very grateful to you haha.

There will be a lot of typical plot points, as there are in a lot of anime/manga/manwha.

Anyway, I don't own any of the characters except for a couple and My Hero Academia, as well as any typical tropes.

I hope this chapter is enjoyable for everyone and here is the chapter!

Chapter 1: Reincarnation and...a talking sword?

In the future of an alternate timeline:

Bodies strewn across the battlefield with enormous explosions shaping the landscape, leaving craters with corpses decorated around the destruction. Shouts and yells echoed across the field while blood-curdling screams mixed in, creating a symphony of agony throughout the place. In the chaotic action stood a disheveled Izuku Midoriya and a grinning Shigaraki Tomura. The former's clothes were in tatters and blood dripping down his forehead, hands gripping a silvery sword with determination.

Ever since Shigaraki fused with All For One a couple of years ago, the entire world faced an apocalyptic catastrophe as the never-ending threat loomed over the lives of Pro-Heroes and civilians alike. The world joined in order to combat the threat of All For One and the forces backing him. Around the world, top heroes from all over the globe converged on Japan, the epicenter of Shigaraki's operations, in order to put an end to this disaster. However, Shigaraki had several ploys under his belt, convincing many Pro-Heroes from around the world to defect to his side and in exchange for power. Both sides suffered many casualties for the past years and this was one of many confrontations Midoriya and Shigaraki had.

"Master, you are losing a good amount of blood." A soft voice rang through his mind. Clutching his sword harder, Midoriya let out a pained chuckle.

"I know Kybou, but if I don't put my Plus Ultra in this, then Shigaraki will destroy the world. I must win here for everyone that fought and died here. For them as well." He said, vigor coursing through his body as he activated One For All, the destined rival for All For One.

"Ah Midoriya, you little shitty brat. Getting in my way again like always, eh? Say, how did your little meddling go last time? When I easily killed that bitch right in front of your eyes? Such despair on your face was pleasure-inducing. Although you did make me go blind in one eye and for whatever reason, I can't heal it but no matter! Today will be the day when All For One will rule this world forever! Now, I just need for you to die for me!" Shigaraki howled out and dashed straight towards Midoriya, vanishing in a flash before reappearing right in front of him, only to get slashed by Kybou infused with One For All. Cursing, Shigaraki teleported away from Midoriya and held his hand to his chest, and saw red with rage when he saw the wound not healing.

"AHHHHHH! What the fuck is that sword?! You didn't have that a couple of years ago, but now it's causing me nothing but pain and trouble! You little brat!" He snarled. The area started rumbling as anger rose in Shigaraki, an aura of death surrounded the villain and Midoriya was on the receiving end of the worst death glare he had ever seen. Normally, looks didn't kill unless you had a quirk that did just that, but Midoriya felt nothing but determination to end this monster once and for all. He looked down at the majestic sword in his possession and smiled at it. He then breathed calmly before readying his sword and stared at Shigaraki.

"Where I got this sword is none of your concern. Regardless, this is where I will defeat you and bring peace to humanity. All-Might defeated All For One before, and as his successor, I will continue that line of winning over evil. Even if it costs me my life, I know the generations of goodwill continue the will of the previous. This is the end, Shigaraki!" Midoriya yelled, drawing in the power he contracted with Kybou and giving 110% of One For All. He dashed forward towards the cause of many loved ones' deaths and the pain in his ass for years now.

"You can never kill me, you little shit! I will cut you down right here, right now!" A loud growl escaped Shigaraki's lips as he charged forward, his hand forming into a blade made from blood and death from all of his kills, despair radiated from the blade and it let out low hisses.

"SHIGARAKI!"

"MIDORIYA!"

The two yelled and clashed, blade on blade, as they disengaged before reconnecting once more. Sparks flew as they continued to brawl it out while the surrounding battles raged on, invigorated by their commanders' battle, and continued on the fight. Shigaraki had a wild look on his face as he pressed closer to Midoriya's face and stared into his soul.

"Master, be careful! Behind you!" Kybou shouted as several dark purple tendrils sprouted out of Shigaraki's back and curled around the two before darting straight towards the greenette's back. Midoriya grunted as a barrier appeared and blocked the attack from behind. He muttered a quick thanks to his sword before putting his everything into his sword, gritting his teeth as he slowly began pushing his opponent back. His skin peeled off when he went way past his limits and he then coughed up blood, but he shrugged it off. He definitely was feeling the blood loss now as his vision wavered for a bit, but it quickly came back as Shigaraki screamed in fury and kicked Midoriya away. Wasting no time, the villain teleported to where Midoriya landed and fired off several beams at the hero.

"Die, die, die, die!" The sound of the attacks hitting the ground rang across the battlefield as debris and dust kicked up, creating a mini-dust screen, obscuring the enraged villain's view. Scanning the area, he employed several detection quirks and looked around. Sensing movement from his right, he fired off several beams as well as sent his tendrils in that direction, whiffing. Confused, he twisted to see Midoriya rearing his fist and was hit in the face. Shigaraki was sent back, but he quickly recovered and grabbed Midoriya with his tendrils before thrusting his fist straight through Midoriya, a crazed smile dancing on his lips as he laughed psychotically and relished the feeling of the hero's insides on his arm.

"HAHAHA! You weren't shit, you damn hero! Looks like you were all talk and-!" Before Shigaraki could finish what he was saying, he felt familiar energy pierce through him from behind. Looking down in anger, he saw Kybou was indeed the one impaling him. A pained laugh came from Midoriya as he looked at Shigaraki, victory clearly seen from the young hero's face as Kybou began to glow brighter. Midoriya coughed up blood and spat some of it on Shigaraki's face as the arm impaling him slowly disintegrated to dust and the tendrils sprouting from his body. Midoriya grunted as he fell to the ground and looked up wearily at Shigaraki's pissed-off face. Kybou still impaled in him as he let out a blood-curdling scream and glared at Midoriya while bits of his body disintegrated. Suddenly, a heavy amount of pressure engulfed Midoriya, who gritted his teeth as he was being pushed into the ground. Slowly looking up at the villain, all that he could see was never-ending hatred and anger in his eyes.

"You little shit. This won't be the last time you see me. I will always find a way to kill you. Remember this well, Izuku Midoriya, I will come back one day and your head will...be...MINE!" Shigaraki's last words echoed throughout the area as the remaining bits of him turned to dust. Kybou fell to the ground right next to Midoriya. A pained laugh escaped Midoriya's lips as tears fell down his face as the darkened sky cleared up, revealing a brightened sun shining down on the battlefield as the remnants of All For One's forces either surrendered or were killed.

"Finally… We defeated him... All-Might... Mother... Todoroki... Uraraka... Everyone... I did it…" Midoriya gasped as his eyes lost vision and the energy of his body slowly dissipated. Using every bit of his strength, he moved his arm towards Kybou and laid his hand on the blade.

"Kybou... Thank you... for everything." Midoriya muttered before closing his eyes and all of his energy depleted. Letting out one last breath, he smiled before succumbing to his injuries. Seconds later, his body was enveloped in light as well as Kybou. The light grew brighter and brighter until it died down, leaving both the body and the sword nowhere to be seen.

"There! There was a light where Deku and Shigaraki were fighting!" A voice cried out as several heroes came and inspected the battle.

"Wait, there's nothing here." One of the heroes said as they searched the surrounding area for anything, but unfortunately, they came up with nothing.

"What happened here?" Someone said out loud, but nobody answered as they were too surprised to answer.

In the present of another timeline: (After the USJ Incident)

Izuku Midoriya stared out the window of his hospital room. Memories of the USJ incident replayed in his mind repeatedly. The terror he experienced when staring down Shigaraki and the creature he called Nomu matching All-Might, forcing the number one hero to pull out all the stops and crush the creature but at the cost of expending more of his power. He clenched the bed sheets tightly as he gritted his teeth. Utter uselessness filled his body as he gazed at his bandaged arm and cursed before closing his eyes, stopping the tears from falling. He then heard the door to his room open, and he quickly wiped the tears before waving at his mentor in his true form alongside Detective Naomasa.

"How are you feeling, young Midoriya?" Toshinori asked as he grabbed a chair and sat at the bedside.

"Physically, I'd say I'm fine for now. But, mentally, I'm not so sure. Witnessing the destruction and what villains are capable of was frightening." Midoriya said softly as he smiled weakly, looking at his clasped hands. Toshinori sighed softly before placing his hand on his successor's shoulder and clenched it.

"Good, don't let that feeling ever escape. Let that feeling drive you to become a stronger hero so that the feeling will not come to fruition again. Once that feeling is gone, you've strayed away from the path of being humble, and that will get you killed. Being scared doesn't make you weak, but don't let it slip into the cracks and control who you are." Midoriya looked at Toshinori with wonder before nodding. Naomasa cleared his throat before taking out a notepad and a pen and then asked Midoriya to give a recount of the USJ incident, jotting down the villains that took part in the attack and the abilities of the hand-masked villain and the Nomu creature. After finishing up with the interview, the detective and Toshinori bid Midoriya farewell before leaving the young man alone in his room again. Suddenly a bright light caught Midoriya's eye from the window and as he turned to look at the light. He thought nothing of it until it started growing bigger and coming straight at him.

"Ah!" Midoriya let out a girly scream as the light engulfed the room and enveloped Midoriya until he could only see nothing but brightness. He eventually blacked out, falling off of the bed into a crumpled heap.

Midoriya grunted as he blinked twice, trying to focus on his vision. It disoriented him as he heard voices and saw silhouettes, but couldn't make out either of them.

"...so… past...ho-..." Midoriya could make out that one voice was masculine. He was slowly regaining his vision.

"...he's… senses...Master…" The second voice was definitely feminine sounding, but also had a slightly metallic sound to her voice. After blinking his eyes more and shaking his head, Midoriya focused his vision and his hearing came back as well. Looking around him, he was in a space that was just nothing but black.

"Oh look, he's gained his senses. This is kind of awkward though, Kybou." The male's voice caught Midoriya's attention, but there was a sense of familiarity with it. The young boy turned around, only to be taken aback by what he saw right in front of him. It was an exact copy of him, only in adult form. The costume looked exactly what he looked like, only more futuristic and stylish. He gawked at his older version, but what really got him was the floating sword right there next to the older copy of himself.

"He's lost for words, just like you when you were learning about the new heroes' quirks when they began their careers." The sword spoke as if taking a jab at the older Midoriya.

"Hey now, I'll have you know. It is always exciting to learn about different quirks. Anyway, what are the odds that we end up in a version of myself?" The older Midoriya said as he raised one of his hands to his mouth and started going on a muttering spree, which caused both Kybou and the younger Midoriya to sweatdrop. After a couple of minutes of listening to the mumble spree, the voice of the sword sighed heavily before floating over and whacked him with its broadside.

"Anyway, introductions are in place, rather I need to introduce myself since you can surmise who my companion is based on his looks and mannerisms. Greetings Izuku Midoriya, my name is Kybou. As you can tell, yes, I am a talking sword, but that's a topic that we can discuss another time. Apologies for invading your body, we were sent to this body after I used a rebirth spell. Alas, we are stuck here." Kybou said. The older Midoriya cleared his throat, causing the younger version to gaze at him.

"Since we're both Izuku Midoriya, just call me Izumi. I know it's just a combination of the first couple of letters from both names, but it will do. As you can tell, I'm you from the future, but I'm also from a different universe. At least, that's what the sword said. "Izumi said. Midoriya gaped at himself before reaching for his notebook, only to remember that he was in this mindscape. He blushed as chuckles echoed throughout the area. Midoriya then went silent as he began to slowly take in what the two had said.

"So, what they are saying is that they're dimensional time travelers. But, the sword said that they re-birthed. Reincarnation?! But, they ended up in my body, so what does this mean for me now? Will it be like those novels where they grow stronger because of being reincarnated into another body? This situation is turning my head to mush trying to understand all of this right now." Midoriya thought. Suddenly, the mindscape grew brighter.

"I see that you're waking up now. Alright, we can continue this discussion once you're able to." Izumi said as it got even brighter until it completely consumed Midoriya's vision. When he opened his eyes, he was back in the hospital. Blinking, he slightly grunted when he heard several of his bones cracking when he stretched.

"I see. So this is after the USJ incident, isn't it Midoriya?" Midoriya could hear Izumi's voice from inside his head, slightly disorienting him.

"You can speak to me from my mind? And yes, this is right after the attack." He said, before clutching the bedsheets as he remembered his inability to help Eraserhead and All-Might during the fight.

"Since we share this body now, apologies once again, we can communicate through your mind since you were the original owner of this body. Also, since we share a body, you can use our abilities as well. However, you will have to train these abilities and your physical body in order to fully grasp it." Kybou noted before appearing in front of him. Midoriya instinctively grabbed the sword by the hilt, and a bright light consumed the two. He could feel the warmth on his right palm and checked on it, seeing a tattoo of a sword on his palm.

"With this, you should be able to summon me whenever you can. We just need to train you on how to properly wield a sword and such."

"Also, we can work on your handling of One For All, as well as the typical physical stuff. After all, the Sports Festival is coming up soon, isn't it? Last time, I didn't win it my first year, but I kind of want to win it this time, especially against Shoto." Izumi said.

"That's right, the Sports Festival is coming up. But, given the circumstances, will they continue with that?" Midoriya asked out loud, forgetting that essentially he was talking to himself, causing some nurses to give him strange looks.

"Knowing U.A. and especially Principal Nezu, the Festival will continue in order to send a message to the villains. To show that there is nothing to fret over and the attack is nothing more than a nuisance. At least, that's what happened in my universe. Either way, we're going to have to train you to become even stronger." Izumi exclaimed. Midoriya nodded before drifting back into his thoughts, thinking about the situation he found himself in.

Midoriya soon got discharged from the hospital the next day and Toshinori brought him a spare uniform. They could leave once the doctor gave Midoriya one last check-up.

"It sure has been a long time since I've seen Toshinori. It sure brings back memories." Izumi chimed in once Midoriya got into the passenger side of the car. Once they got situated, they made their way back to the academy and engaged in small talk during the car ride. It was a brief trip, and they quickly made their way to the principal's office.

"Ah, I'm glad to see you up and about again, young Midoriya." Principal Nezu said from his desk as he hopped out of his seat and walked over to the duo. The little chimera motioned for the two to have a seat and poured some tea for them. They killed some time before the next class so that Midoriya didn't interrupt class and that it wouldn't stop the class when his classmates would start questioning him about his health. The bell chimed a couple of minutes later and he bid farewell to Toshinori and Principal Nezu before making his way over to his homeroom.

"Now THIS takes me back! How I missed U.A. and everyone. This is like taking a trip down memory lane and I'm inside myself too. So it's like watching myself live through my past events. This is throwing me for a loop." Izumi said with nostalgia.

"This reminiscing makes you feel old. Anyway, this is the famous U.A. that has been mentioned and raved on by this old oaf. It looks rather nicely maintained and kept. " Kybou chimed in, ignoring the cries of Izumi as Midoriya continued on to his classroom, passing a couple of Class 1-B students. Midoriya waved at the sister figure of Class 1-B and the pious vine quirk user as they walked past each other. He had met the two by chance when he helped Yaoyorozu collect some things for the two hero courses. They were both very nice, and very beautiful, so naturally, Midoriya fumbled over his words a bit, but they didn't pay it much mind and even chuckled occasionally.

"It's been a while since I've seen those two. In fact, I'm glad I got to see them again." Izumi said softly, sadness clear in his voice.

"Did something happen to those two in your time?" Midoriya muttered. The way his alternate future spoke caused him to feel dread and sadness. He looked back at them for a couple of seconds before returning his gaze to the front.

"The two of them were heroes. During the first year of when an organized group of villains headed by All For One ramped up their attacks, they attacked an embassy when several of the Asian countries came together to sign a Pro-Hero treaty. They weren't on duty, but they still rushed over to help. They died protecting several representatives. That was just the start of many of my friends dying. If I was faster, maybe I could've-"

"With all due respect, playing hypothetical won't do you any good now. What happened, happened. We just need to focus on our situation now and help Midoriya grow stronger so that what we've been through doesn't happen again. We will need to be wary of things that can deviate from what we know." The sword interrupted before he continued on with the train of thought. Midoriya stayed silent as they neared the door to his class. Taking a deep breath, he pushed the door opening, chatter coming to a stop and everyone had their eyes on the greenette. Their stares caused Midoriya to squirm a little as he awkwardly waved at them.

"H-hey guys." He said, nervous laughter followed suit as he rubbed the back of his neck. Tenya Iida was the first to come over to the young man and placed his hand on Midoriya's shoulder.

"I see you're doing good, Midoriya! I'm glad that nothing too serious happened to you! Everyone in the class but you, Thirteen, and Aizawa sensei were in terrible condition. I'm happy that you're here now!" Iida said. A smile dawned on Midoriya's face as the rest, minus Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo, came over to express their concerns. Soon after that, they all branched off into their little groups again. Midoriya sat at his desk with Ochako Uraraka, Tsuyu Asui, and Iida surrounding it. They were discussing what happened after Midoriya was taken to the hospital. It relieved Midoriya that both Thirteen and Aizawa weren't too seriously injured, even though it looked like Thirteen essentially had half of their body ripped open. Then again, he never really understood how Thirteen's suit worked. They transitioned from the USJ incident to what they were having for lunch when someone tapped Midoriya on his shoulder. He turned around and saw Momo Yaoyorozu give him a small wave before handing him a handout.

"These were handed out last class. It details the Sports Festival and when it will be held. It gives some details on what we could expect for the Festival, but nothing specific. Anyway, I'm glad you are out of the hospital, Midoriya." Yaoyorozu said before giving him a smile, which caused the young man to blush wildly and sputter a little, which caused the raven-haired beauty to chuckle before going back to her seat to chat with Kyoka Jirou and Denki Kaminari. After a while, the bell chimed, signaling that class was starting soon. Everyone made their way over to their seats.

"The Sports Festival. I wonder how it's going to be this year. I remember watching it when I was little. Seeing the action and different quirks are getting me excited to see all of them in action. However, I need to get stronger in order for me to have a shot at winning." Midoriya thought as the teacher arrived and began the lesson.

"Don't worry Midoriya, we'll help you get stronger. As much as I want to help you with One For All, we'll work on your body physically and also how to use a sword because it is difficult to swing one, much less using it in a fight. Once we got the sword down, we can incorporate One For All with Kybou, and then we'd really pack a punch. So, during the interim period before the Sports Festival, we'll be training your body and also practice wielding Kybou. Expect some good pacing and also a Plus Ultra regiment!" Izumi said. Midoriya sweat-dropped as the tone reminded him of his training with All-Might down at the beach. Still, it gave him a rush of excitement since he was learning from himself from the future, so he'll be able to pick up tricks and other useful information from a seasoned veteran. He would be lying if he wasn't interested in swordplay, and the talking sword only piqued his interest even more.

"I wonder how this is going to play out," Midoriya said before grabbing his pen and wrote Izumi's Plus Ultra Training Regiment, humming to himself as he occasionally looked up to pay attention to the lesson.

Alright, the first chapter of this story. What did you guys think?

This is my first ever fanfiction, so I might be kind of trash, but I hope to continue growing and improving as a writer.

As for the pairing of this story, I might go Yaoyorozu and Midoriya, or the harem route with this. I'm not sure what I want to do just yet. Let me know what you want. If you want a harem, Yaoyorozu, or a completely different character, give your input.

If you have any questions or just anything in general, let me know.

Once again, I'll be looking for a beta reader, so let me know if you want to help.

I have a Discord, so if you want to add me, then say the word lol.

I hope you all have a good day and I'll see you in the next chapter!

See you guys!
