Caulifla and Kale What IF: Chapter Twenty-Seven- "Vacation for Kale?"
Planet Sadala, Caulifla's Hideout (Four Months After the Tournament)...
After the tournament of power, Caulifla and Kale have sworn a promise to each other that they would train harder to become Super Saiyan Three. Kale has been wanting to train with her sister in arms for as long as she has been with her. The two would return to the hideout, build a schedule, and begin their training. For the first two weeks of it, it has been going fine for two. Kale feels a bit tired after the workout, but she feels great in training with Caulifla. But...it's the rest of the four months of training that soon breaks Kale. Not only does she has to train with Caulifla, but she has to make her breakfast for the gang, clean the hideout, when she's out of the place, and make sure that items are placed in the right order. The gang has gotten a lot of items from the city and soldiers which makes it harder for the shy Saiyan to keep track of it all. Kale continues to do housework and training. Sooner or later, she begins to feel something that she hasn't felt in a while: Frustration. Or irritability in her words. She can't take a break. One moment, she's laying in bed after cleaning the living room area, and the next Caulifla wants her to clean her room. Caulifla's room has to be the worst in Kale's eyes, due to the piles of meat bones, dirty clothes, and food stains on the bed. Kale almost gagged, when she saw one sock crawl away from her. She grabbed it, only to see a big cockroach quickly crawl away from her. That almost made her faint as well, but she kept doing it. Over the last four months, Kale's mind becomes fried to the point that she would occasionally and unintentionally break certain items. When she was told to broom the gang's bedrooms, she didn't notice that she was gripping onto the broomstick hard enough for it to break. On some times, she would just punch on the walls and leave a dent. She does feel bad for this and does fix it. That just added a whole lot of work for her to do! Then...Friday came. Kale had a feeling that she was going to have a whole day off of both training and housework. Nope! She doesn't get it. Caulifla came into her room, informing her to clean the entire hideout, while she and the gang go out for some "shopping". Kale felt sad, disappointed, and of course angry from that reply. If she showed her emotions towards her only friend, she'll think that she touched a nerve. Kale says that she will get onto it after she had some breakfast (For which she has to make for Caulifla and the gang). Caulifla leaves, while Kale slumps over her bed, thinking of what she got herself into. She can even see a red vein about to pop out of her skull from how much work she has to do. She gets dressed and leaves her room for her day to start. For the worse.
Caulifla's Hideout (Present Day and Two Hours and Five Minutes Later)...
Kale finally managed to clean the entire hideout on her own. From the bathrooms, the bedrooms (including Caulifla's), the kitchen, the garage, and the living room, Kale did it. Her hands are dirty from the amount of washing, dusting, and picking up filth. The worst one for her was still Caulifla's room. She can't stand those cockroaches crawling around the room. She took care of those bastards, too. She sits on the couch, exhausted from all of the work. What could be worst than doing over two hours of work? Caulifla bursts into the living room with the gang behind her, happy about her shopping. "That police officer was like, 'Stop right there!', yet I told him to buzz off! Getting those clothes and food was a great time. Kale?" said Caulifla, as she stops in front of Kale, who is tiredly leaning against the couch. She questions why she's so tired. Kale would just tell her the truth, but that would mean that she could be lazy towards her. She says to Caulifla that she was just done with the housework. "Good! We can start training! Right now!" said Caulifla, as she pulls Kale off of the couch and outside of the hideout. Kale makes a comical tired expression, not wanting to train. She's already tired from all of the housework. She feels like she can't take this anymore! Once at the deserted area, the two can begin. After a few minutes of punching and kicking, Caulifla notices something about her friend. Kale's eyes are turning red, her arms feel lifeless, and her breathing is off a little. Even her hair is a bit messed up. She asks Kale if she's okay. "I'm fine, Caulifla. Y-You, don't have to worry about me. I-I'm doing all of the work for you, along with the gang. I cook, I clean, I make sure all of the items. And I mean ALL of them are in order, and I train with you. 24/7...every day. For four months" said Kale, as she's beginning to go insane from all of the work. Caulifla backs away a little, not liking how her friend is acting. Then, she thought of something that she completely forgot to tell her. And this is going to bite her in the ass. "Kale? I forgot about something. I'd asked Cabba if he would like to train with us as well. He said that he has no work for a week, so he decided to come with us. Starting tomorrow, we are going to train harder than ever before!" said Caulifla. Kale hears this, eyes widen in shock, and her mouth dropped to the ground. The sentence "Harder than ever before", "A week", and "Starting tomorrow" really make Kale's mind a bit more unhinged than right now. As Caulifla thinks of what new skills she could learn from Cabba, Kale's face turns red in rage. Oh, s***! Here it comes! "I HAD IT! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! ALL OF THE F***ING WORK! ALL OF THE F***ING TRAINING! ALL OF IT IS TIRING ME OUT! CAN'T YOU SEE THAT I'M IN A STATE OF TIREDNESS, CAULIFLA!? HUH!?" yelled Kale, as she begins to rage harder, by slowly transforming into her super Saiyan form. Caulifla stops her thinking to look at Kale. "Sorry, Kale. What was that? I was thinking of other skills to try out for tomorro-OOHHHHH! KALE!" said Caulifla, as she sees a charging Super Saiyan Kale towards her, One punch to the face, and the screen turns black for a moment.
Caulifla's Hideout, Living Room (Two Hours Later)...
{Kale's cries are heard throughout the hideout}
"Aw, hell. I didn't know that Kale was getting tired from both training AND housework. Why didn't I tell her to take a break" [Rubs her bruised cheek] "Damn. That punch was powerful. She has gotten stronger. Yet, with her tired from training and working around the hideout, I fear that her anger is going to get worse. I don't want that jacked-up form to come back again. We don't want to have a deserted Sadala now."
"Boss!" [Runs with a communicator in her hands] "Someone's on the communicator for you!"
[Takes the communicator] "Thanks." [Answers] "Hello?"
"Caulifla?"
"Cabba! How's it going!?"
"Fine. Look...I can't come to the area to train with you and Kale. My captain told me that there is one mission for me to do and it's going to last for a week. Sorry that I couldn't-"
"It's okay. Besides...I think I'm going to take a break from training."
"Really? Why is that?"
"Because...Kale attacked me."
"What!?"
"Yeah. After four months of doing housework and training with me, Kale's mind got fried. She couldn't take it anymore and attacked me for it. I guess I'd put too much on her. Now, she's crying her eyes out, after figuring out what happened. I still have the cheek bump from where she punched me."
"Oh. I feel sorry about her. Wait! Did she-"
"No, Cabba. She didn't transform into that hulky form of hers. Don't worry."
"Whew! That's a relief. Maybe it would be best for Kale to take a break."
"Okay."
"Now, get some rest yourself." [Hangs up]
"Ah. Great. How am I supposed to give Kale a well-rested break from ALL of this?" [rubs her chin in thought] "How?"
The Next Day...
"Kale?" [Knocks on her door] "Are you okay in there?"
"..."
"Come on, Kale. I wasn't that hurt from yesterday. I still have the cheek bump from last night. It's doesn't even hurt anymore. Ouch!"
"I-I'm sorry, Caulifla! It just that...I-I didn't want to be seen as lazy towards you."
"What do you mean by being lazy?" [raised her eyebrow]
"I know that I felt tired from the work and training, but if I slack off, then you'll start thinking that I've gotten lazy!"
"What!? Is that why you continue to work!?"
"Yes! And now...I'D PUNCHED YOU IN THE FACE, BECAUSE OF IT!" [Cries behind her door]
"Aw, Kale. It's not your fault! You should have told me that you were getting tired. That way, I could have given you a break. As a matter of fact..." [Smiles] "How about I take care of you?" [Slips the slip in Kale's room]
"Huh?" [Sees the door with her itchy, red eyes]
"Yes! I'll take care of you, while the girls clean the hideout. This is going to be an apology for me putting too much pressure on you."
"But...If I don't do the work, then-"
"Don't worry, Kale. You have to forget about the work and training and start appreciating the relaxation."
"A-Are you sure?" [Looks at the door with a questioning glare]
"I'm sure on it, Kale! Cross my heart and hope to die!"
"Hm..."
"Okay! I'll see you downstairs for breakfast." [leaves the area]
"Hm..." [Rubs her chin in thought] (I don't know if she's telling the truth or not. Caulifla would be upset about this. She doesn't like to take breaks from training. But, after what I did to her yesterday, it makes sense. I still felt bad for what I did to her. Maybe this break won't end in a disaster."
Thirty Minutes Later...
So, Kale's day off begins with Caulifla making breakfast for her and the girls. She hasn't been the best cook around here, but for Kale, she has to. She does the meat well, although it's a bit burnt on the outside. The girls were hesitant towards this, but later think of how Kale felt yesterday. They don't want her to feel disappointed and go on another rampage. They eat their breakfast, go back to their work, and Caulifla brings up some of the activities for her friend to enjoy. Meanwhile, Kale, who is finished with her breakfast, thinks of what to do for her day off. She does want to stay in bed, but what else is there for her? Caulifla opens the door with a pile of items and videos for her shy friend to do. "Since you don't have anything up in your mind, I decided to give you these hobbies to pass the time. Here are some puzzles, some word puzzles, some colored pencils for coloring, a few videos of shows we watched together when we were children, and so forth. I hope that you can enjoy this. Because you deserve it" said Caulifla, as she places the items on Kale's bed. The shy Saiyan sees the pile, confused by how is she supposed to pick which hobby would suit her best. She says thanks to Caulifla, watching her friend leave her room. Kale searches through the pile for anything useful to her day off. After a few minutes of going through the pile, Kale came up with three hobbies to do. She found some videos of shows she remembered as a child; some coloring books; and some journals for her to write her thoughts in. She can go out of her room if she feels like it, but for now, she'll stay in her room for a bit longer. Kale pulls out a laptop from her dresser side, opens it, places one of the show's CDs into the laptop, and starts the marathon of her favorite show.
Six Hours Later...
"Whoa! I forgot how enjoyable this show was" said Kale to herself, as she is done finishing the last season of the show. It has been six hours since she started watching the show. She enjoyed that show. Kale puts the last video away and gets ready for her lunch. She forgot to get some food from the kitchen, because of how much she was enjoying the show. She leaves the room, only to see that the hallways have been cleaned to perfection. She can see her reflection on the floor and sparkles. Kale walks downstairs, seeing the living room all straightened and dusted. She is starting to believe the girls are cleaning the place for her. She goes into the kitchen, seeing more of the sparkling clean area around her. She is impressed by the girl's cleaning skills. She kind of feels jealous towards this, but can't. This is her day off, after all. She sees the fridge, feeling her stomach growl from a lack of food. Kale walks to it, ready to make her lunch. Forty minutes later, Kale leaves the kitchen with a full stomach and a satisfied look on her face. She has never been this laid off before. She returns to her room, ready to start her next hobby, coloring. She colors in the best pictures in the book, ones that make her feel special. After a few more minutes of that, Kale goes onto her word puzzles. Meanwhile, Caulifla, who is exhausted from cleaning the whole hideout, lays face first on her bed. She smells the freshness of her made bed that she made on her own. She does feel proud in cleaning her room finally, but she feels tired from doing the rest of the work. Cleaning the toilets, dusting the windows, and mopping the floors. They were tiring her arms. Caulifla turns around to see the ceiling with tired eyes. "UGH! Is this how Kale felt when she worked too much? I can still feel my arms throbbing from all of the wiping and dusting. But...this is for Kale's day off. Maybe after this, I can go back to training. I hope that she's feeling better about this. That's all that matters to me. Make sure that Kale is better" said Caulifla to herself, She gives out a smile, indicating that she does care about Kale's safety. She feels sorry for not giving her a break earlier, but now she can fulfill the promise. It's night time and the girls are starting to go to bed. Kale, who is reading her latest journal entry, feels tired from all of the hobbies she had done. She felt so great in not doing any work or training. She should thank Caulifla for finally giving her a break. She really, REALLY deserved it. Kale goes to her closet to change her clothes for the night. As she does this, she thinks of how will she be able to get another break like this again. Will she have to get angry for Caulifla to give her one? No. That happened because Kale was at her breaking point. She gets into her pink nightgown, crawls into her bed, and looks up at the ceiling with a smile on her face. "This was a good day for me. I hope I could have it again" said Kale, as she shuts her eyes for the night.
The Next Day...
{Caulifla and the girls eat around the table with breakfast}
[Walks into the kitchen with a smile] "Hello, girls!"
[All] "Hi, Kale!"
[Sits next to Caulifla] "Thanks for the day off, Caulifla. I'd deserved that one. Plus, I'm sorry for freaking out like that on the previous day. Maybe today, we can go and trai-AHHHHH! W-What happened to your face!?" [Sees Caulifla's gross, yet tired expression]
"Sorry, Kale, but I couldn't sleep. I'm used to sleeping in my messy bed because it had more space and comfortable areas. But, since you made the bed for me and I tried to make it as best as possible, I couldn't find the right position to sleep in. What's worst is that I felt cockroaches on the bed. I didn't remove all of them. Damn, those bastards! They always multiply, when you're not there! One gets crushed and the other ten come out!"
"Uh, well." [Pats Caulifla on the back] "At least you did the work for me. I know how you're feeling."
"Good. Kale? Next time, you get tired from working or training, then tell me. I'm willing to do the work for you or take a break from training with you. Don't try to think that you're lazy when you do those. Alright?"
"I will, Caulifla."
"Now...Maybe we should go somewhere. I got some tickets to this wild resort in West City. It's a two-day trip and these tickets give us free food and hotel services."
"Really? A-Are you sure?"
"Kale? I do need this trip, after what I had to go through! UGH!" [Cracks her back for relief] "My back! Damn those floors!"
"Alright, Caulifla." [Smiles] "We'll take that break. What is the name of his resort?"
"Sunshine Express and we have to get there quick before they run out of seats! Girls? Take care of the place, while me and Kale are gone!" [Puts the rest of her breakfast in her mouth, dragging Kale out of the kitchen]
[All] "Yes, ma'am!"
"Wah! A-Are we going now, Caulifla!?"
"Of course! This will be the first break from our training! Together!" [Smiles at Kale with food in her mouth]
"Hehehe! Okay, Caulifla! Let's go!"

Notes- For the next few chapters, I will be going back and forth between new stories and remixes of old chapters. I want to do the remixed chapters because they don't show a whole lot of structure and I did make a few mistakes. Again, I am not a writer. I'm more of an artist than a writer.
