(BSC 3 C25) C83 The shrieking shack.
First let's go back a little bit, just before Harry went to the ministry.
Harry was walking down to the Common room of the Hogwarts house and didn't see the looks he was getting.
Astoria who had been standing with Daphne for only a little bit was now standing next to Ginny. Both had seen the looks Harry had thrown to his grandmother, but also the looks she had thrown back. Neither had understood what really happened but they both knew that it wasn't good when they saw him walking away. It was clear to them that Harry was beyond mad because his magic was swirling around him, like a whirlwind that was out of control.
It was after a little more than twenty minutes that the both of them started to walk out of the great hall. They had heard a lot of stories and it started to really aggravate the both of them. Some were saying that there had been two students who had opened the gate and were now making out as a form of a celebration. They had been caught by McGonagall but she had done nothing to them. The other thing they heard was that Harry was about to be expelled and that the ministry was coming to expel him and to end the life of a hippogriff. The last thing they heard was that Harry had heard about it and that he was now on his way to intercept the ministry party that was coming to Hogwarts.
As they walked out the doors of the great hall it was clear that the last bit of information was mostly true. Harry was on his way to the ministry to help them all but they didn't know how or what he was about to do. It was for sure that it had something to do with the dementors that were inside the school. At the door, they saw Daphne and Bella and waived Hi when they saw them walk in.
While they were walking around the school for a little while they found an empty classroom with two boys inside. Both of the boys had red hair and were bent over a map on the table.
"HEE, little sister, come over here for a minute" one of the boys called to them both as they saw them walking by.
Ginny turned around and Pulled Astoria along when she saw her Brothers standing there. She choked up a little but swallowed hard as she stepped into the classroom. Earlier today she became a potter and it was now that they weren't a family anymore. The only connection she had with Fred and George was only through blood and it hurt her a little. It was the fault of her mother and even her brother Ronald, now that she thought about it. "I'm sorry but you are no longer my brothers," She told them with a smile but her bottom lip was trembling and the tears were standing in her eyes".
Fred and George looked each other in the eye and nodded just before they pulled her into a three-way hug. "It doesn't matter; you will always be our little sister just Like Harry told us".
"What, he did".
"Yes, it was a week or so ago. He came upon us and pulled us along to a classroom. It was there that he told us about it and asked what our thoughts were on that idea. Now, as we told him. We didn't really like it just like he didn't like to do it. But after we talked to dad we knew that dad was okay with it because you would never have a normal life with mom. So you may be a Potter now but to us, you will always be a Weasley" Fred told her.
Ginny could not help herself but smiled with happy tears in her eyes. She knew that they were serious because it was Only Fred that told her without the twin speech of George. She already knew that Harry would never be her real dad and she only called him that at school to aggravate her former mother. To now hear that Harry had first talked to her father and her brothers made her feel even better. At first, she was afraid that her brothers would turn her back on her.
The only real fear she had left was that her two older brothers wouldn't see her as her little sister anymore. But she also knew that her twin brothers would stand behind her when they found out. But one thing was sure and the only one she could thank for that was Harry. Her father Arthur Weasley was still her father. Maybe not on paper or by name but he would always be her father in her heart And Harry would make sure she could always see him when she wanted to.
As Ginny and Astoria walked around the twins they looked at the table. At first, they didn't see anything until they saw a piece of parchment lying on the table with a lot of spots running over it.
"What in Merlin's name are the both of you doing," Astoria asked as she looked even closer to the parchment.
George looked up as he gestured her closer.
As both girls gazed at each other the stepped forward but were a little hesitated while they gathered around the table.
As the four of them were looking at the map the eyes of Astoria were going to one spot on the map. She saw a name but didn't say it. (Now everyone knows about what map I'm talking about so I won't do it). As Fred and George were explaining about the map they pointed at names at the seventh floor and at names that were in the great hall.
It was then that George took the word. "On the moment that the dementors appeared in the great hall, we both ran from the great hall. We both went to this classroom here and saw the greasiest names on the map. As the Dementors were driven from the great hall we saw our first strange name. It was in the middle of the great hall and the name was Lady Hogwarts. "Look here she is again," Fred told them as he pointed to another spot on the map.
Ginny gave the map a closer look and saw the name Fred was pointing at. There just outside of the great hall stood the name Lady Hogwarts next to Minerva Potter/McGonagall.
Astoria knew who she was but didn't say a thing. She wasn't sure if the others could know it yet. She was waiting for Harry to tell it to everyone else. She, however, didn't know that Harry had been unmasked that morning in the Wizengamot thanks to Bogrod the leader of the Goblins.
"Now that was not the only name we saw at that time, No, there was another name that was even more surprising. LOOK" George screamed. "There he is again".
Both Astoria and Ginny came a lot closer as George was pointing to the name near the gate of Hogwarts.
As Astoria took a very close look she saw Amelia, Augusta, and Isabella walking to the gate of Hogwarts. But the name George was pointing at was the Name of King Hogwarts.
"Say do any of you know who in Merlin's name King Hogwarts is," Both Fred and George asked the girls.
Ginny started to shook no but she did have an Idea who it could be. As she gazed over at Astoria she saw that she was also shaking her head. While she gazed deeper into her eyes she knew that Astoria knew who it was and she was right with her own idea. It was now that the both of them also understood who the lady was.
Now their problem was, could they tell Fred and George or not. Hell, how could you tell someone that a guy you know is the King while he is just a year older than yourself? In the end, they decided to not do it. Let it be a surprise to all of them when they found out for themselves.
Fred and George stopped to wonder about who the king and Lady were and brought their attention back to the map they had in front of them. At the seventh floor, they saw another name that they didn't know. "Fred".
"Yes, George".
"Do you know a Pettigrew".
"No George, I don't know a Pettigrew".
Astoria looked at Ginny in fear and started to walk to the door.
"Sorry, Fred, Sorry George, but we have to go and do something" Ginny screamed as she ran after Astoria.
"Yea okay, If you see the headmaster or Professor McGonagall tell them to come here" They both screamed after her as she left. As the door closed Ginny started to shake. "That wasn't the one who got killed by Sirius that was the one that sold out Lily and James Potter".
Astoria who immediately stepped to her side placed a hand on her shoulder. "Did you see the other name? You know the one on the grounds just by the cabin of Hagrid".
"Yes, I saw Sirius but he is a mass murderer who is here to kill Harry".
Astoria shook her head. "No, Gin. Like I said, Sirius was framed and Pettigrew was the one who sold them out. Sirius had been innocent this whole time and Dumbledore knew about it. Tonight I will tell you everything I can and everything I'm allowed to tell you but for now, just believe me when I say Sirius is one of us".
Suddenly the door behind them opened and George stepped out of the classroom. "What are you two still doing here go find McGonagall and get her here as fast as you can, she is in the great hall".
"Listen," Astoria said. If we are quick we could tell McGonagall and then slip out where we can tell Sirius where he can find Pettigrew. It will clear his name and it would make Harry Happy".
Ginny didn't doubt Astoria for a minute. She herself was a product of a lot of manipulation so thinking Sirius could be innocent was not so farfetched for her. She nodded and ran to the front doors of the castle. It was in the entrance hall they saw Grandma Mini as she had become to all the friends and family. "Professor, Fred, and George are looking for you. They are in the third classroom on the left". While they saw Grandma Mini walking to the classroom they themselves ran out the doors and onto the grounds.
While they were running to the cabin of Hagrid, Ginny saw a big black dog that looks like a grim. "Where is he, I don't see him anywhere".
"Well I do, he is right over there".
"Where," Ginny asked as she started to look around.
"Over there. He is an Animagus and he is the dog" Astoria said as she started to run. "Sirius, Sirius we have seen Pettigrew. He is on the seventh floor".
Sirius remained in his dog form and barked three times in thanks as he started to run towards the castle.
Slowly the two girls started their way back to the castle as they saw the dog going through the door. They were sure that Sirius would get Peter but were very surprised when they were on the stapes when Sirius came back out running after a rat.
"Come Ginny we have to help him" Astoria called over her shoulder as she started to follow him. It was there that they saw him jumping underneath the Whomping Willow. It was just in front of the Whomping Willow that they stopped and looked around them self. At first, they hesitated a little but then the rand underneath the swinging branch and jumped into the hole under it.
They stopped inside the hole and gazed into the long tunnel underneath the willow that seemed to go on for a very long way. Ginny pulled out her wand and said Lumos while she started to edge her way down the tunnel.
Astoria followed her example and lit her own wand as she followed Ginny through the tunnel. Neither of the girls had seen the rat that sneaked past them as they got further and further down the tunnel.
There at the end, they saw a couple of steps and something that looked like two eyes that were shining in that little bit of light that crept through the doorway.
"Drop that wand little girl or this girl won't see another day" Peter shouted from behind Ginny while he held Astoria around the neck while he pressed his wand to her cheek with his other hand.
Ginny stopped dead in her track and turned around with more than fear in her eyes. Slowly she lifted her wand and saw Pettigrew pushing his wand further into the cheek of Astoria. She lifted her other hand in a surrendering gesture and placed her wand on the floor.
Astoria felt the wand pushed into her cheek and closed her eyes as she prayed for Ginny to stun him.
"You, redhead, inside now before I kill her" Peter snapped at Ginny.
Ginny dropped her wand the last few centimeters as she rushed back to the steppes. It was now that she knew she had seen Sirius at the top of the steppes but was wondering where he was now that they needed him. From the corner of her eye, she saw some movement but was too afraid to call to it, because she wasn't sure what Pettigrew would do to Astoria if she did it. But as fast as she saw that movement it was gone just as fast.
Peter who was still holding Astoria around her neck made sure she kept on walking as he squeezed her tighter, making her gasp for breath. Coming to the steps he let go of her and pushed her harder and on the top, he grabbed her again.
Ginny turned around when she heard the gasp from Astoria. At first, she thought he had done something to her but when she turned around she saw that he was still holding her around the neck. She was gazing around her to see if she could see the Grim anywhere but to her surprise, they were in another tunnel. This one was somewhat shorter but a little nicer if she could call it that.
"Keep going you little bitch" Peter screamed again.
Ginny became a little startled and almost started to run the rest of the way. It was at the end she saw four steps leading to a door. But from the four steps, there were two steps that were broken in half by what looked like claw marks. Ginny stepped on the first step and jumped the rest of them.
Astoria who was slowly turning blue from the lack of air was too afraid to do something. As she was forced to the steps she hesitated a bit. It was not much but enough for Peter to let go of her and push her, the rest of the way. Astoria stumbled and felt the wood of the broken step slide into her leg with a deep wound that followed.
Ginny rushed back and sat down next to Astoria, trying to help her up.
Peter didn't let her he pushed Ginny away roughly and pulled Astoria back to her feet ignoring the scream of pain she gave. "Upstairs now" He screamed as he pointed his wand at Ginny.
Ginny rushed up the stairs to the second floor and hoped that Pettigrew would leave them alone for a moment. At the top of the stairs, she went into a room that was pointed out to her. Just before she was all the way in, she felt something slam into her back and went down.
Astoria who was dragged upstairs got a push as she slammed against the back of Ginny. She stumbled to the side and stepped on the leg that was wounded. She could not stand on it and fell down with her head against the bedpost that was standing in the room.
Ginny crawled on her hands and feet to Astoria who was lying motionless on the floor. With her hand, she pulled her head up and felt something wet and sticky. As she pulled it away she saw that her hand had turned red from the blood. With the fear in her eyes, she asked if Astoria was okay but didn't get an answer because she had lost consciousness from the fall against the bed.
"Expelliarmus" Peter called out and took the wand from Astoria.
Ginny was startled and looked up just before the Stupify hid her in the chest.
The only thing Ginny could move were her eyes and saw how Pettigrew was walking through the room, But the thing that spoke volumes was his haunted look as he looked around while he walked up and down.
She had fallen in a weird angle which told her that she would be sore if she was released. Because of the weird angle, she could see out of the window to the road that ran straight to Hogwarts. From her angle, she could see someone with disorderly black hair that looked at the window, the window she was looking out of.
Pettigrew kept walking from left to right he passed the window one time and almost ran from it when he saw somebody outside. He didn't say much but was cursing constantly.
It was now that Ginny got that hopeless feeling in her stomach. The person who she had seen outside was none other than Harry Potter, but because he walked on she knew they were on their own. The only hope she had left was that it had been Sirius who she had seen before they walked into this house where ever it was.
Slowly the minutes went by and the spell she was under lost his magic. The moment she was almost free she hurried over to Astoria because she knew she would be no match for Pettigrew.
Suddenly Peter stopped his walking while his eyes went from left to right, from the door to a little hole in the wall. It was now that he turned into a rat and ran for the hole.
Peter had just disappeared as Sirius jumped into the room with the wand from Ginny in his hand. "I got you now you rat" he screamed. Sirius wanted to scream something else but he didn't see Peter anywhere while he looked around himself. His eyes landed on Ginny and the still motionless Astoria. He walked to them and didn't see Peter who had walked up behind him.
"Sirius it's him" Ginny shouted as she pointed to the door.
There was a high pitched sound coming from downstairs.
Sirius whipped his wand around.
"Stupify"
"Stupify"

Again let's go back to the time Harry left the castle.
As Harry was walking down the path wit Isabella at his side and Amelia and Augusta behind him, Bella and Daphne were walking back to the great hall. At the door, they saw Ginny and Astoria. They waived Hi when they saw them come out. In the back, they saw Minerva together with Zanita just looking around making sure that everything was done that needed to be done.
In a corner, they saw a couple of first years standing around each other still with the fear of the Dementors in their eyes. "Go get some chocolate while I talk to them," Bella told Daphne who just nodded.
Minerva saw Daphne heading for the stack of chocolate that the house elves had left for them. "Is Harry on his way already?" She asked as she stood next to Daphne.
Daphne nodded. "Yes, but we are very afraid that he will lose it and it would be devastating if there is no more ministry".
Minerva heard the words and couldn't help herself but chuckle. "Thanks, I needed that. You two help around here and I will look through the hallways if there is anything I missed.
Daphne looked at her as Minerva walked away and she herself went back to help Bella. It was over an hour later that Minerva rushed back into the great hall and called for Bella and Daphne to come to her.
Bella knew from the moment she heard the sound of her voice that there was something really, really wrong and it didn't sound good.
"Listen, Harry is still at the ministry and that will take a while I think, but Astoria and Ginny are missing. Fred and George have a map where they could see everyone but they haven't seen Ginny or Astoria on it for over twenty minutes. The last time they saw them they were heading outside. I know it has only been twenty minutes but they also saw Sirius and Peter Pettigrew on the map and that has me a little on the edge.
Minerva hadn't even finished talking or Bella and Daphne were already running to the outside of the castle. Daphne just heard Minerva screaming that they had to be careful but Bella was already a long way ahead of her.
After a little run, she caught up with Bella and started to look around for any sign of Ginny and Astoria. It was at the moment they rounded the lake for the first time that Professor Flitwick was making his way to them.
(It was this time Minerva told Harry all about it in her mind).
"Girls" Flitwick called to them. "I had a talk with Minerva and she told me that the twins had seen Ginny and Astoria disappear from the map. It was right at that spot" and he was pointing to the Whomping Willow. "The last thing they saw was that they were followed very closely by Pettigrew.
As Bella and Daphne looked at the tree they saw a dog sticking his head outside a hole beneath the stomp of the same tree, it barked three times before it ducked back into the hole.
"Sirius" Bella screamed loudly.
"What did you say," Flitwick said as he looked at Bella.
"Sorry Professor. Bud, the dog is Sirius. He is an Animagus and he is innocent. Pettigrew is the real criminal here but Sirius needs him to prove his innocents".
Flitwick shook his head and thought he had heard everything now. But as he thought back at the start of the year, as the wife of his leader Bogrod was protected by Harry and his friends. He knew that he just had to trust them even if he had some doubt.
The three of them started to walk towards the tree all of them with their own thoughts. Flitwick was preparing himself for battle while Bella and Daphne were praying to magic herself to get Harry there as fast as she could.
At the Whomping Willow, they stared at each other. The tree was waiving his branches from left to right. "We are never going to get passed it," Daphne said as she jumped away from a branch that was about to hit her.
"Don't be silly?" Flitwick told her with a chuckle. "Albus placed this tree to guard a student that went here from the infliction he has. Beneath this tree is a long hallway that goes straight to the shrieking shack".
Bella and Daphne knew that he was talking about Remus but they had other things to think about now. "Sorry Professor but we need to get to Ginny and Astoria. If we go down the road, could you go down the tunnel?" Daphne asked.
Flitwick was a little startled but nodded as he kicked himself mentally for forgetting about the two girls. "That is a splendid idea. Now when you to get to the shrieking shack don't be the hero, just wait there and stun everything that comes out even if it is me. Better revive the wrong person than to not stun the right person".
Both Girls nodded while Daphne started to pull Bella towards the gate. When they got to the gate they could see that Harry was already there and that he was making his way to the castle.
Bella hesitated for a moment and started to make her way back to Harry. She was, however, stopped by Daphne who grabbed her shoulder. "We have to go on Bella. Harry would not like it if we abandon the search just to say hi to him. But I also know that he will come to us the moment he hears where we are. It is the one thing I'm sure of, he will never let us go into danger if he can prevent it" Daphne told her while she herself looked at Harry who was now reaching the steppes of Hogwarts.
Bella who was still hesitating knew that Daphne was right. With some difficulty, she pulled her eyes away from Harry and walked out of the gate and was followed by Daphne. They were about fifty meters from the gate when they saw Minister Fudge apparate in the middle of the road. Bella stopped and pushed Daphne into the bushes as they heard three other people appear. As they looked back through all the leaves they saw that they knew two of them. One was Lucius Malfoy who was recognizable by his long blond hair. The second one was that toad woman. The heard a fifth person appear and that was obviously Albus Dumbledore and they only had to look at his robe.
When the five people had passed them they started to run the rest of the way. The last thing they wanted was for one of them to see them running away. It was only after three hundred meters and only twenty meters remaining to the shrieking shack that they stopped running.
It was Daphne who dared to look over her shoulder and saw that they were still alone.
Just as they rounded the corner to the shrieking shack. It was Daphne who pushed Bella into the bushes this time. She knew that Peter would be inside and that he could see them if they just walked to the front door. She was hoping that Sirius had already mastered him because even if he was seen as a bad wizard, he had more experience than the two of them put together. She even thought Sirius was at a slight disadvantage because he had been incarcerated for almost thirteen years. No, the real hope she had she put on Professor Flitwick; he had been a dueling champion. It was also now that she was wondering if he was already in the house or not, was the tunnel extending into the house or not.
Daphne told Bella why they were going into the bushes while they made their way to the house. They stayed low to the ground just so that they wouldn't be seen. It had been one of the fun lessons they had received from Tonks. (This lesson will be told in part 5, with all the others in Flashbacks). The biggest disadvantage they got was that they were still third years and hadn't learned the camouflage spell or the invisibility spell. That would be something they would learn when they would become Aurors.
Now they could only crawl through the bush, however, that was easier said than done. Slowly they crawled to the side of the building where there were no windows. From the side of the wall, they looked at the backside. The windows were shut and boarded up from the outside. So it was sure that they would not be seen if they stayed close to the outside wall.
As they crawled around the outside wall they listened to any sound that came from the inside out. But it was very disappointing because there wasn't any. So they couldn't hear if there was somebody inside or even if Sirius or Flitwick took care of it. It also meant that they couldn't be sure if Peter if he was still inside, had seen them or not.
At the back door of the house, they stopped and looked around them. There was nothing to see so they were ready for the next step. With a flat hand, Bella slowly pushed against the door. Like in a real horror movie it creaked with a high-pitched sound. Both of them slammed themselves with their backs against the outside wall as the listened for a sound.

"Stupefy" Peter screamed as he pointed his wand at the back of Sirius.
Sirius turned on the spot and shouted: "Stupefy". His spell sailed passed that of peter that slammed right into his chest as he went down.
Peter laughed his squeaky laugh as he rubbed his hands. He levitated Sirius to the bead and turned around. He had heard the sound and knew there was someone else that came into the shag. He took the wand Sirius had and pocked it just like he had done with the wand of Astoria. He changed back into his rat form and started to head back into the hole.
*#*
With two shield spells, they looked around the corner of the door. They didn't see anyone so they stepped inside. Daphne held up her shield as Bella dropped it, she was the one who would fight as Daphne protected her. The one thing they really looked for was a rat that could hide in the corners just waiting there to surprise them.
The moment they stepped inside the heard their first sound of the house, it wasn't much but it were clear footsteps and a clear laughing. It did give them a direction in which they had to look. While they still had to find Ginny and Astoria they also knew that Peter was an obstacle that stood in their way.
Slowly Bella and Daphne walked through the house. They were in what looked like a destroyed kitchen and it looked just like the rest of the house. On the other side of the house just next to the front door they saw stairs that were going up.
"Bombarde" sounded a voice from the top of the stairs.
Bella and Daphne hadn't a clue who shouted the spell or at what it was shouted at. While they were halfway up the stairs, but before they knew it everything was dark.
*#*
Professor Flitwick stood in front of the Whomping Willow and looked at how Bella and Daphne were walking to the gate. He took a deep breath and fired a stinging hex at the stomp to make it frees up. With a deep sigh of his own, he started to walk into the tunnel and prepared himself for a fight.
As he went down the long hallway he looked at what the headmaster had made all those years ago. As he came to the first pair of steps he stopped and looked around. He was very impressed with the construction of the tunnel. It was then that he heard a high-pitched sound. He remembered that he had to go and look for the girls and went on through the last bit of the tunnel. He felt some wards which told him he was passing through the outer wards of Hogwarts.
When he came to the second pair of steps he saw quite a bit of blood on one of the broken steps. He immediately got a feeling of fear as he saw the blood, just the thought that it could be the blood from one of his students made his fear turn into a real fury, especially is he thought that it could come from Peter or Sirius who had done it.
It was clear that Peter was alive because he knew that the friends would never lie to him about something like that. But it still didn't tell him that Sirius was as innocent as they thought he was. There were still the thirteen muggles that were killed that night.
The more he thought about it the more his fear became an unstoppable anger that was begging to be released. With another deep sigh, he did the one thing every Goblin did the one thing he shouldn't have done. He gave a battle cry and charged forward into the house. He ran a little down the hallway and up the stairs because his goblin senses told him there were people upstairs. He heard some sound from someone doing magic. His wand at the ready he got to the top of the stairs and rounded the corner. He saw someone in the room on the other side. Behind him, he heard two pairs of footsteps and knew that the girls were inside the house. But to make sure that it were the girls and not the enemy he looked behind him and down the stairs.
"BOMBARDA" sounded the voice of Pettigrew.
Flitwick was hit in the chest and he was slammed very hard with his head against the back wall. Peter ran after him and kicked him down the stairs against the two girls who were already halfway up.
Bella and Daphne were knocked out from Flitwick who slammed into them at high-speed and landed on the bottom of the stairs.
The fall of Flitwick was broken by the two girls he landed on but the slam against the wall on top of the stairs had really made him dizzy and he couldn't tell the sealing from the floor.
In his fuzzy stair, he saw a shadow of a person run by. He stuck out his hand to grab it but he was too slow as he saw it go by. Behind the shadow, he something that looked like a flag or a rag that flowed along and the only color he could make out was a blur of red.

Peter was walking up and down the room, he had seen somebody walking on the outside and it had terrified him. He hadn't seen who it was but he was afraid that that person had seen him and that he would come in. After nearly ten minutes he calmed down a little bit because the person had walked on. He gave a look and saw the two girls near the bed. One of them had a big hole in her head and looked like she was asleep; at least he hoped she was.
Slowly he started to walk up and down again but was stopped as he heard soft noises coming from somewhere inside the house. He took his wand and changed back into his rat form as he looked for a place to hide. He found a little hole in the wall that came out in the hallway just next to the stairs. In his rat form, he looked over the edge and saw Sirius making his way slowly up the stairs. He waited and saw Sirius walking to the door with his wand raised. The moment he jumped through the door Peter changed back and shouted.
"Sirius it's him" Ginny shouted as she pointed to the door.
"Stupefy". Sirius screamed as he went down like a sack of potatoes.
Peter let out a little laugh and rubbed his hands together. He had outsmarted one of his old friends that could have been a real problem. So he now knew he had to kill him before he left. He looked out of the window and saw that there was nobody there. He turned back to Sirius and through a silencing spell on him. The last thing he wanted was Sirius shouting for help. After that, he floated him onto the bed so he had him in his sight at all time.
Ginny was the only one who could move a little because the Stupify from Peter was slowly losing his power. The first thing she did, however, was to crawl to Astoria. The bleeding of the wound in her head had stopped but she was still out cold and didn't react to anything Ginny did even if it was slow and a little clumsy. The only thing that told her that Astoria was still alive was the slow rising of her chest as she breathed.
Peter suddenly stood still as he heard a high-pitched sound. It was a door that was opened and he knew that it was time to go. With a look of fear, he listened to the sound that was coming from inside the house but he heard nothing more. Again he looked out of the window and saw that he still had to wait a little longer. His plan was to escape when it was dark but if the people kept coming he may have to go sooner than he wanted. With another look out of the window, he saw that the sun was going down and that it was almost time to go. He gave another look at Sirius and was wondering if he should kill him now with the girls in the room or should he placed them outside.
Again there was a little sound and he walked to the door. He stood at the side and let his rat ears hear what was happening. He heard something little stepping up the stairs. So he lifted his wand and made himself ready to turn into a rat. As the person came halfway he turned into the rat and went through the hole. On the other side, there was a table at his side and he went behind it so he could change back into Peter.
The small form of Professor Flitwick stepped on the upper floor and turned to the bedroom where Peter should have been. He turned around and looked down the stairs. This was the moment that Peter jumped from behind the table and screamed. "BOMBARDA".
Peter saw a protection shield but also that it didn't protect him all the way. Professor Flitwick slammed against the door and went down. With his rat hearing, he heard other people stepping up the stairs. He now knew that it was done, he either had to fight and try to kill everything inside or escape as fast as he could. He took the last option and ran up to Professor Flitwick. It was there that he kicked him as hard as he could and sent him flying against the two persons who came up the stairs. He ran into the room and grabbed Astoria by the arm and pulled her along.
Ginny who was still feeling the effect of the Stupify curse could not loosen her grip on Astoria and was pulled along. The only luck she had was that her legs were almost free from the curse so she could run along even if she stumbled a lot.
At the bottom of the stairs, Peter jumped over the three persons that were laying there and ran down the tunnel while he was pulling Astoria along like a ragdoll. He thought he saw someone move a little bit but didn't look around as he went on. As he went further into the tunnel he heard the front door of the Shrieking shack explode into the house. He didn't know who came into the house but that was the last person he wanted to meet.
So he went as fast as he could while he pulled Astoria and Ginny along behind him. The tunnel he was running through has never seemed as long as he thought it was now. When he came from beneath the Whomping willow he saw a lot of people running to him. One of them he recognized as Remus his old friend.
He didn't wait and went straight into the forbidden forest. He heard the people coming closer and closer but he didn't look behind him he just kept on running while he dragged the girls on and on.
Suddenly there was a lot of screaming. Peter didn't know what was happening but he stopped dead in his track. He heard a woman screaming something he was very afraid of.
It turned out that Remus was transforming into his werewolf form it was the one thing he understood when he listened to the screams of a woman that was behind him. It was now that the real panic started to kick in. he gazed around into the darkness of the forest. His main problem were the two girls that he was dragging along. Now he may be a death eater but he wasn't a child killer. He was a cowered by heart a rat good to find information but he was not a killer. Again he let his eyes scan around him. It was then that he saw a cliff, maybe a ledge. He pulled the girls to the edge and looked down. It was a small slope for about ten meters deep. There were only bushes at the bottom but not on the edge. If they die they die but at least he gave them a chance and pushed Astoria over the edge and down the slope.
Ginny saw it happening and ran over to the edge. She stopped just in front of it and looked down never seeing the hand from Peter coming up from behind her. She felt a shove and wend down after Astoria.
Peter gave one more look at the girls and ran away. He heard that the people had started to follow him again but now without the two girls he was getting more distance between them. He was getting away and the joy was starting to fill his heart. Sadly for him, he was running in a circle and hadn't noticed that he was running back to the group that had been following him. After a while, he heard a noise in front of him. There he stood his old friend.
The werewolf looked at the little man and growled loudly.
"Remus" Peter squeaked. "Remus it's me Peter, Peter your old friend".
"STUPEFY".
"STUPEFY".
"STUPEFY".
"STUPEFY" sounded four different voices from just behind him.
A/N: this was it again for this week. I have a three week holiday so I'm not sure if the next chapter will be in two weeks. If not then it will be four weeks. After that, it will be two weeks again.
Gr Winmau.
