Hello dear readers.
Congratulations to Emari1522 on AO3 for giving me a great list of names to use. As such I will be using two of them for Iku and Rikus son as well as Emi and Mitsuos son.
You are the godparent of not one but two of the babies my friend.
Quandi on here gave me some beautiful names for the twins so I will not be going with Towa and Setsuna but the two they offered.
Congratulations Quandi, you are the godparent of Rins and Sesshomarus twins.
The names will be announced in later chapters.

The spring seemed to come earlier than usual with more mild days and the snow melting quickly. Rin sat with Izumi and Sana on the deck with their children when she felt the ache in her back.
It wasn't uncommon at such a late stage of pregnancy to feel some pains with how heavy her stomach was but the suddenness of it caught her off guard.
"Ooo." She sighed out reaching behind her to rub at the spot. Immediately it caught Izumis attention who stood from the steps walking over to her.
"Are you alright?" She asked concerned as she knelt down in front of her.
"Yes, I am. Just a sharp tightness, I guess to describe it." She said as it happened again. Gasping at the severity of it Izumi placed her hands to her shoulders.
"Sana, fetch Iku and Emi." Looking over her shoulder Sana gave a quick nod. Gathering Hisashi and Hotaru to her she skipped to the back leaving Kozumi next to Jiro in his basket.
Jiro placed two of his fingers to his mouth whistling loudly. In a few moments Nen came running fast from the tree line.
"What is it?" Nen asked quickly scanning for any danger.
"Bring Lord Sesshomaru. His mate may need him." Jiro said motioning with his head towards Rin. Nen turned taking in her expression and breathing giving a nod.
"Understood." Scenting the air he went in the direction that Sesshomaru was.
"Thank you Jiro." Rin said as she rested her head against Izumis shoulder.
"You are welcome Rin." He said. With Emi and Iku arriving Sana handed Jiro Hisashi for a moment so she could check on Kozumi.
"Inside." Iku said in a no nonsense type of way. Emi and Izu helped Rin up as they went inside. Sana sat back down on the steps with the little ones to keep them occupied.
Hisashi fought against Jiros arm that held him yipping and biting at his leather gauntlet.
"And where are you in such a hurry to go Master Hisashi?" Jiro asked turning the pup in his arms to face him. Smirking at him as the little one wagged his tail and licked Jiros face he resettled him in his arms. "Stay here where it's safe. Trust me. You do not want to go out there. Not yet."
Sana listened to her husband silently agreeing with him as she held Hotaru to her tightly. Standing as Sesshomaru approached with Nen she could see his eyes searching for Rin.
"Rin is inside my lord with the other women. Iku is attending to her. It may be her time." She said to put his mind at ease.
"Thank you Sana. Nen take post with Jiro. I will seek out Kohaku to inform him to tighten the perimeter." He ordered turning. Glancing over his shoulder at Sana he paused. "Let Rin know I will be back shortly if you go to her."
"Of course Lord Sesshomaru." Sana gave a small bow in acknowledgment. Turning towards the door she decided to bring in the children starting with Hotaru and Kozumi as they were easier to handle.
Taking Hisashi from Jiro she wrapped him up quickly in his blanket so he didn't get away from her, as he was apt to do. Closing the doors she picked up the baby basket and coaxed Hotaru to follow her, which she did giggling all the way.
Entering Rins room she saw that they had already begun to prepare for the birth.
"Already?" Sana asked placing Hisashi down.
"These pups are impatient." Iku simply said. Rin leaned against Izumi who supported her as she sweated and panted.
"Rin," Sana went to her side taking her hand. "Lord Sesshomaru is ordering the men on what to do. He will be with you soon."
"Thanks…Sana." Rin managed out her brow furrowing as her entire body seemed to tense. Squeezing Sanas hand hard she let out a pained groan.
"It will all be over soon little Cho and we will have our new daughters." Izumi soothed passing a wet cloth over her face and forehead.
"Yes." Rin smiled widely as she closed her eyes breathing heavily. "Iku…I need to…"
"Yes Rin, start pushing." Iku said getting herself into position. At her behest Rin gave it all she had feeling her muscles contract painfully as her body began to shake on its own accord making her teeth chatter. "Emi, get my knife."
Opening her eyes Rin glanced down trying to see what was happening but unable to over her stomach.
"The head is coming out." Emi informed her. Nodding quickly she pushed again straining and grunting.
"Stop." Iku commanded setting to work to turn the baby's head and clear her airways. "Alright Rin, one more for this one and she will be out."
As Rin gave a final push Sesshomaru entered the room taking in the scene before him. His Rin in terrible pain as she gave him another child, Izumi behind her, Emi and Iku taking the newborn from his mates body with Sana tending to the elder pups.
He stared somewhat in awe at how versatile all of them were, able to birth and care for all of the little ones at the same time. Coming to as he heard a careening wail he closed the door behind him and went to Rin.
"Lord Sesshomaru, did you see?" Rin panted out already tired.
"I did." Placing his hand to her cheek he felt how clammy and sweaty she was. Izumi helped her to lie down as Iku handed over the little girl to her father.
Sesshomaru brought her closer to him as he breathed in her scent memorizing it in a heartbeat. Blearily she opened her eyes looking at him with crimson pupils, the same color of Hisashis.
Nuzzling her as she continued to whimper he growled low in his chest to calm her. Ceasing in her cries she let out her own soft growl that sounded like a purr.
Placing her down to settle in Rins arms he brushed aside her long, shaggy hair that was still covered in blood from her birth.
"How long until the other girl arrives?" Izumi asked Iku.
"There is no way to tell, it can take some time with litter mates for the second one to be born." Placing her hand to Rins abdomen she felt the high position of the other twin. "This one may take some time."
"You were so anxious to be born that you left your sister behind." Rin told her newest daughter. Receiving not much in return besides the purring sound she was making she kissed her small cheek softly.
As they waited Hotaru and Hisashi made their way over to Rin inspecting their little sister before getting bored and climbing down from the futon steps.
After an hour Rin began to have contractions and pain again. Izumi took the newborn from her at her request.
Another hour and she had begun to push not seeming to get anywhere. Outwardly both Sesshomaru and Izumi remained calm but every once in a while they would catch one another's eye and they could see the worry they were both holding back.
"This one is being much more difficult than the first." Iku stated more to herself. "Stop being so lazy pup."
"I need a break." Rin whispered. "I'm so tired."
"Rin if you do that then all of the progress you have made will be undone." Iku told her.
"I know I just…I need a moment." She sniffled out on the verge of exhausted tears.
"New plan." Iku said ordering Sesshomaru to hold Rin up against him in a squatting position. "When I say,carefully, push down on the rounded part of her stomach with your hands together." Iku demonstrated.
Giving a nod of understanding they waited until Rins next large contraction. Doing as he was told gently he pushed downwards on Rins body creating a great gush of blood and fluid.
"That is a lot of blood." Izumi mumbled out taking a steadying breath.
"Seems to be." Emi agreed.
"It's alright. If, forbid, anything were to happen Lord Sesshomaru would not waste anytime to save Rin." Sana stated.
"No, I cannot." Sesshomaru said.
"What do you mean, no?" Izumi questioned quickly.
"Tensaiga cannot revive Rin a second time." He informed. Izumi stared at him as the information slowly sunk in.
"Wait…" She tried to grasp what he had just said as the younger twin was born. Iku seemed still sure and composed while the others sighed relief.
Sesshomaru helped Rin into a more comfortable position while Emi took the second baby from her once she was cut free from her mother.
Wiping her face and hair down she wrapped her loosely in a blanket placing her on Rins bare chest.
"Hello my baby." She said softly taking in her darker locks similar to her own hair. "Looks like you're the odd one out."
"Kozumi is darker haired so far. She won't be." Izumi said handing the first twin to Sesshomaru. "I will let Kohaku know that all went well."
"I can do that Izu if you would like." Emi offered.
"Thank you but I will tell him. I like to inform my mate when Rin has given us more pups." She smiled softly. Emi nodded as Izumi waited a moment before Iku gave her the clear and Rin was situated better.
Walking out to the sitting room in the front of the house Kohaku stood somewhat nervously waiting.
"Hey. Is Rin alright? Are the twins well?" He asked anxiously.
"Yes sweet boy. All three of them are just fine." Reaching for his hand he took it as she led him to the room. Going to the futon he knelt down ruffling Rins hair a bit on top of her head causing her to smile at him.
"You look tired." He observed.
"I am but happy." She replied turning her daughter so Kohaku could see her better. Taking the back of his hand he gently rubbed at her cheek.
"Well, we are outnumbered now with so many children." Kohaku said with a smile.
"I am okay with that." Rin laughed lightly. Izumi sat beside Sesshomaru taking in the girl he held and sighed relief that all had gone well.
