Scene: Wastelands
Goku Jr: You know, just once in a while, I'd like to be teleported to a nice beach or something.
Saiyan: Who needs a beach? I've got all the fruit you could ever harvest from one right here.
Goku Jr: No way! My grandma tells me not to take free food from strangers.
Saiyan: …Grandma? There's no way that can be right. But with those tails, you two are definitely Saiyans.
Goku Jr: Saiyan? What is that, some kind of food? I told you, not interested!
Vegeta Jr: Wait, isn't that what the Supreme Kai of Time called us earlier?
Saiyan: I don't know who this Supreme Kai is, but if they're not here for this fruit, then don't waste your breath bringing them up. Trust me, you'll need it. I've got way more offers to make.
Vegeta Jr: You…you're an anomaly, aren't you?
Turles: Heh. You must be the smart one.
Turles flies off towards a sudden red light that appears right as he leaves the ground. Goku and Vegeta pursue him, but find themselves too slow to catch up to him.
Goku: I don't think he can fight any more. Take him with you and leave this planet while you still can!
Nappa: V-Vegeta…gimme a hand…
Turles: I wouldn't go asking him for help if I were you. But I think I've got just the thing you need.
Turles throws Nappa a fruit of might. A confused but desperate Nappa eats it, and finds himself both rejuvenated and more powerful.
Nappa: Bwahaha! This power's incredible! I might even be stronger than you now, Vegeta!
Vegeta: What did you say?
Turles: Calm down prince, there's plenty for you too.
Vegeta: And why should I be accepting gifts from a low-class warrior like you?
(Airborne) Vegeta Jr: Huh. That guy might look like me, but it sure seems like he takes after you.
(Airborne) Goku Jr: It's not just looks. Didn't you hear what that big guy said? His name's Vegeta, too! He must be another one of your ancestors!
Vegeta Jr: Then the guy in the orange gi must be yours! We have to be extra careful here, or we might stop ourselves from being born!
Turles: You can have this power too, Kakarot. If you and your son join us, of course.
Goku: I don't know who you are, but my name is Goku! And if you're with Vegeta, there's no way I'm joining up with you, least of all for a shortcut to power!
Turles: Hmph. Then you and this miserable planet will be taking a shortcut back to Otherworld instead.
Vegeta Jr: Ha! Knew it! Looks like you owe me some more Zeni.
Goku Jr: What? I never even bet you were wrong!
Vegeta Jr: Well, do you bet we should head down there now?
Goku Jr: Yeah, looks like everyone's about done with their speeches.
Vegeta: What's this? It seems some of the lambs were late to the slaughter. What a waste of Saiyan potential.
Goku Jr: Damn it, we just made them start their speeches again!
Vegeta Jr: Don't worry. I have the perfect solution for this kind of thing.
Vegeta Jr rushes at Vegeta, but Vegeta sees it coming and smacks him away. However, Goku Jr takes advantage of this to get in a hit of his own. It lands, but to Goku Jr's dismay, the blow does more to anger Vegeta than stagger him. Vegeta hits Goku Jr back, but Vegeta Jr grabs him from behind, allowing Goku to get back up and get some more hits in. Vegeta releases a burst of energy to get the two off of him, launching them in opposite directions. While Goku Jr lands in the middle of a fight between Goku and Turles, Vegeta Jr lands on top of Nappa as he tries to finish off Krillin. Nappa lands face-first, giving Vegeta Jr time to climb on his back and grab his tail. Krillin throws a Kienzan, but Nappa gets up and flies away just in time for the attack to only hit his tail. He screams, drawing the idle Vegeta's attention.
Vegeta: Damn, those weaklings cut off his tail? He really is useless. Still, guess I'll have to use our little trump card earlier than expected.
Turles: Trump card? Heh, you don't even know the half of it. Come on kid, why don't you give him a hint and go Super Saiyan already?
Vegeta: You can't possibly be so delusional as to think that stupid fruit can make you the Legendary Super Saiyan! I am the prince of all Saiyans! That title belongs to me and me alone!
Turles: Nobody's saying it doesn't, your majesty. I couldn't care less about that foolish bedtime story. You just need a little push. Or, if you'd like, I can keep feeding this fruit into that friend of yours. But can you imagine the embarrassment of being surpassed by a tailless Saiyan?
Vegeta looks at Nappa, then Goku, then finally back to Turles.
Vegeta: Give me the blasted fruit already, peasant.
Turles throws a fruit of might at Vegeta, who catches and eats it. Almost instantly, he begins to writhe and scream in agony, releasing a mind-boggling aura in the process.
Turles: Oh yeah, that's a pretty common side effect.
Nappa: No it's not! What the hell did you do to him?
Finally, Vegeta stops. After everyone else spends a brief second filled with an eternity of dread staring at his golden hair, Vegeta rushes over to Turles, instantly killing him with a massively powerful energy wave as Turles grins.
Goku Jr: Full power?
Vegeta Jr: Full power.
Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr transform and rush to fight Vegeta, but Vegeta already has his sights set on Goku. Vegeta flies over to deal the first and finishing blow, but as the smoke clears from yet another blast, with Vegeta's hand an inch from Goku's face, an impaled Nappa stands in the way.
Goku: Wh…why?
Nappa: I'm not…strong enough…to fight anymore...someone…has to stop him…from leaving this planet…even…if it's…low class…trash…like…you…
Goku: Krillin. Take Gohan and run as far away as you can.
Krillin: Are you crazy? You're gonna get yourself killed again!
Goku: Now.
Krillin nods and flies away with Gohan. As Nappa falls to the ground, Goku stares Vegeta down in dead silence.
Goku Jr: The Spirit Bomb.
Goku: How did you-?
Goku Jr: We'll buy you time. Just make it as big as you can.
Goku: Are you sure you can last that long against him?
Goku Jr: Of course we can. We're Time Patrollers.
Vegeta shifts his gaze to the young Saiyans, furious at their ability to become Super Saiyans. The two fly past him, hoping to lure him away from Goku. Vegeta Jr fires a barrage of energy blasts, drawing Vegeta's attention. Vegeta bolts towards his unknown descendant, but Goku Jr kicks him aside. Vegeta falls, and the blast he was charging for Vegeta Jr hits the ground instead. Vegeta sends the debris created from the blast flying towards the pair. Vegeta Jr can shatter every rock sent his way, but Goku Jr is soon trapped underneath a cluster of rocks before another sudden burst of energy frees him. Not wanting to waste the surprise boost in power, Goku Jr hurriedly fires a Kamehameha at Vegeta. Vegeta, too furious to dodge, gets blasted head-on, leaving a hole in his chest. He lands by the sack of fruit Turles drops, and ravenously eats one. The wound in his chest stops bleeding, giving him a zenkai boost on top of the power-up from the fruit.
Goku Jr: What are we supposed to do?! That was my strongest attack!
Vegeta Jr: Maybe it was yours, but not ours. Follow my lead!
Vegeta Jr destroys the bag of fruit, and flies back towards Goku. Goku Jr follows, as does Vegeta. The young saiyans get as close to the Spirit Bomb as possible until they finally release a joint attack.
Vegeta Jr: GALICK…
Goku Jr: KAMEHAME…
Both: HAAAA!
Vegeta struggles against the combined blast, but slowly manages to push through. Just before he breaks out, the saiyan pair fly off to the side, leaving Vegeta face to face with a massive-
Goku: Take this! SPIRIT BOMB!
Vegeta is engulfed by the Spirit Bomb, far larger than it was in the original timeline. The pure energy of the Spirit Bomb directly attacks Vegeta's mailicious S-Cells, leaving him a defeated, base form humiliation. With the anomaly resolved, Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr once again begin to disappear. Vegeta has the same plan, slowly inching towards his space pod. As Krillin appears with Yajrobe's sword, Goku tells Krillin to let him go.
Age 1000
Scene: Time Nest
Goku and Vegeta come flying out of the arcade cabinet in opposite directions, no longer burdened by the need for their names to be followed by Jr.
Goten: That was so cool! Come on Trunks, we need to go practice that move they just did!
Supreme Kai: Absolutely not! You two still haven't repaired the time chamber! There's no way I'm gonna let you run around and destroy MORE of the Time Nest!
Trunks: Supreme Kai of Time, please, I was the one who broke it. You didn't have to drag Goten into this.
Goten: No, she's right. That sparring session was my idea in the first place, wasn't it? Besides, we've been working all day at this thing. I don't think I could fight at full power right now anyways.
Supreme Kai: Well, make sure to get some rest when you're done. You too, squirts. The anomalies have clearly been ramping up in intensity, so we might need all of you on the field for the next one.
Goku: You can count on us! As long as we actually, you know, find a rendezvous point to use the Time Scroll to get back here.
The Supreme Kai of Time sighs and gives Goku another Time Scroll, which he throws over to Vegeta. The two return to their time, with only Goku having the decency to wave.
Trunks: What gives? You never gave us a Time Scroll, and they get two for the same time period?
Supreme Kai of Time: Those two are Time Patrollers. You two are on parole. You might be stronger, but those two are the ones with authority over you. You still have ways to go if you think you can be trusted alone with time travel.
Trunks tries to think of a counter, but can't muster one, knowing the Supreme Kai is correct.
Narrator: Goku and Vegeta have become full-fledged Time Patrollers, but are they truly the only ones? What secret crimes are Trunks and Goten hiding from them to be ranked below their family from the distant future? The story continues next time on Neo Dragon Ball Heroes!
