Jiro and Sana returned a couple of days after Nen and Jin had taken in the baby girl. As they approached Emi was sitting with her youngest by her hut picking berries and handing them to him to eat.
"Emi!" Sana called out waving. Turning she stood to greet them both.
"Well hello you two." She chirped out. "Nice to see you back."
"Nice to see you as well Emi." Jiro nodded his head in greeting. Sana knelt down to pat the little boys head and ruffle his soft feather like hair.
"And you too little one." Sana said as he mashed some blueberries in his hand.
"We named him." Emi stated proudly. "He is called Yoshi."
"What a precious name for such a sweet boy." Sana said as she stood. "Maybe waiting is the best course of action to pick just the right one."
"Exactly." Emi smiled at her. "Oh! There is news; while you were both away to become parents your brother and Jin beat you to it."
Taking in the confused expressions of her friends she decided to tell them the story. "They found a newborn human with in the perimeter of the compound. The poor thing had been abandoned at birth by her mother to succumb to the elements."
"That is horrid." Sana stared wide eyed as she spoke. Emi nodded in agreement.
"Nen and Jin were returning from the post finding the little one. Thankfully she was unharmed and relatively alright. Rin, Izumi, and Iku have been assisting with feeding her, I would but I do not produce milk the way the rest of you can, so I have been helping in other ways." Emi concluded.
"Thank goodness she is alright. Oh, I am so happy for them. Jiro, we need to go congratulate our brothers on their baby." Sana beamed happily.
"Huh." Jiro said simply as the information sunk in. Cracking a grin he nodded enthusiastically. "This is something I have to see for myself." Letting out a small chuckle he went with Sana to the hut next to their own.
Rapping on the panel next to the bamboo curtain Nen slid it back to stand in the doorway.
"Yo." Jiro greeted his twin with a huge smile plastered across his face.
"Thought I smelled you. Hard to tell these days with all the odors in here." Motioning towards the inside Sana stepped forward.
"Emi told us about your child. Congratulations Nen." She smiled at him causing him to soften a bit.
"Thank you Sana. Come on in and see what you both have signed yourselves up for." Nen said stepping aside. Going in Sana went immediately to sit beside Jin as he held the bundle in his arms.
"Congratulations." Sana said to him more softly as the baby appeared to be sleeping.
"Thanks. This is Nozomi." Jin's eyes never left his daughter as he spoke.
"What a beautiful name." Sana complimented. "I am so glad the two of you found her."
"So, what happened to never having or wanting one?" Jiro questioned smirking at Nen.
"One of my own, no. This was a different situation." Nen countered.
"Well I for one am happy, now our pup will have a cousin." Sana said still smiling. "May I?"
"Of course." Jin said handing his daughter over to his sister in-law. Sana rubbed her nose against the little girls and closed her eyes.
"Aren't you precious." She whispered out. "So sweet and tiny. Don't worry, in some time you will have a playmate."
"Yeah, as if there weren't enough running around already." Nen said with a small smirk. "Honestly, I have yet to see the appeal. She eats, shits, and spits up more than anything I've ever seen in my life."
"Will you stop it." Jin rolled his eyes at his mate. "You are only saying those things to say what a tough guy you are. Nen is an excellent father to date. He's been doing most of the changing and washing. Iku gifted us a bowl and instructed us how to feed her with a cloth giving us milk. Ask Nen who also decided to take over her feedings when one of the women aren't nursing her."
"Hence why I know how much she is taking in and then expelling." Nen said.
Sana stifled her giggle and focused on the little girl as Jiro did in fact let out a soft chuckle.
"I'm happy for you brother, for both of you. I am glad that you decided to take her in to raise. I don't know anyone better to do that job than you Nen." Jiro said sincerely.
Giving a small nod and a broadening smirk Nen took the compliment.
