Unexpected Developments:

Earth-16

Location: Ticonderoga, New York.

Time: 4:30 P.M.

It was a mild day in May and the small town of Ticonderoga was winding down for the evening. Yep, it was a regular day in the good old U.S.A when out of nowhere an earthquake began, or at least what seemed to be an earthquake, anyway. Unbeknownst to everyone, a decent-sized capsule had landed in the middle of the forested terrain.

A moment later the capsule opened and Crow Logan stepped out and onto the forest floor; cautiously he looked around before he deeming it safe. Turning around, he signaled for his companions to join him. Not a second later a little green girl flew out of the capsule followed by a young boy no older than eight.

The girl looked around the unfamiliar territory, "where are we?" she asked.

Crow glanced at her, "That's a good question Lucy, Robin, do you know where we're at?" he asked.

Robin frowned, staring at his computer screen. "The monitor says we're in New York, Ticonderoga to be exact," he said.

Crow frowned, "New York? What the hell, we were supposed to land back in time in Hokkaido," he said suddenly aggravated.

Robin put his hands up, "Don't look at me! I might be able to hack any computer or electronic you give me but when it comes to time travel I'm clueless, that's Iris's department," he said.

Crow turned to Lucy. "Lucy can you help us and see if you can pick up any info," he said.

Lucy nodded quickly, searching for a mind to link up to; it didn't take long for her to find a camper. Searching through his memories, she was surprised to see fragments of the Justice League and young heroes calling themselves the Outsiders.

Cutting the link off she looked at Crow. "Sir, I don't mean to be that guy but I think we have a problem," she said.

Location: Hollywood, California

Time: 1:30 P.M.

It was a sunny day in Hollywood, California; a perfect day for celebrating, which was what Garfield Logan and his team, the Outsiders, were doing. The night before the team had defeated a leftover Reach ship, saving Portland, Maine from a potential invasion.

Now the hashtag, "we're all Outsiders," was trending on all social media platforms and Garfield couldn't be more pleased. So in celebration, he was throwing a pizza party for all the Young Heroes; although, the older heroes were welcome to join in and have a slice.

He had just bitten into his slice of pepperoni and pineapple when the alarm went off. Standing up in alarm he was taken aback when M'gann came flying into the room turning on the computer screen.

The shapeshifter looked at his sister in alarm, "What's going on M'gann?" he asked.

The martian looked over at her adopted brother with a look of concern upon her face. "Conner called me, apparently Sphere has alerted him that she has detected an energy impulse somewhere on Earth. Nightwing has already been alerted, but he is unable to deal with it at this time and has asked us to investigate it," she said.

Garfield smirked, "Sweet, this is another opportunity for the Outsiders to shine!" he said. Kid Flash who had been standing beside him smirked and high-fived him, but M'gann frowned.

She looked at the young hero sternly, "I don't know Gar, this mission might not be suitable for the Outsiders and might be better for the covert team," she said.

Garfield looked at her pleadingly, "Oh come on M'gann, you know we got this," he said.

Bart who was beside him looked at her confidently, "Chills M'gann we got this," he said. giving her a thumbs up.

Jaime who had been silently listening to the conversation also chimed in, "I don't normally agree with these two but in this case, I have to." he said.

Cassie then chimed in, "Yeah M'gann give us another chance to prove ourselves," she said.

M'gann eyed the young heroes for a few minutes in contemplation before she relented, "Alright, I'll let you go investigate but if there's any trouble you are to call me or any of the senior heroes right away," she said.

Garfield nodded, "Okay, so where is this energy impulse coming from anyway?" he said.

M'gann's forehead scrunched up, "That's the strange thing, it's coming from Ticonderoga," she said.

Cassie tilted her head, "I'm not the best at geography but isn't that in upstate New York?" she asked.

The martian nodded, "Yep, that's why it's so puzzling why we're detecting an impulse there of all places. So please hurry and check it out," she said.

The team saluted and then immediately headed out, never once having any idea of what they were going to find or the rabbit hole it was going to put everyone through.

Location: Ticonderoga

Crow and Robin stared at Lucy with shocked expressions on their faces until finally, Crow seemed to snap out of it. In frustration he let out a few curses before turning back to the children, "Well this is just great, we try to time-travel and we get sent to a different dimension instead." he said, waving his hands in the air like a mad man.

The two younger heroes shared a worried glance thinking that the poor guy was finally losing his mind. For a moment Miss. Martian contemplated putting him to sleep but then thought better; Crow was the man in charge and having him out while they were in a strange place was not the best idea.

After a few minutes of ranting Crow calmed down, "I'm sorry guys, I didn't mean to frighten you," he said.

Lucy gave him a weary smile, "It's alright Crow, we know you're under a lot of pressure to make this plan work," she said.

Robin nodded beside her, "Yeah, I'm sure everything will turn out okay, we just need to figure out what we did wrong and fix it," he said.

Crow gave the children a grateful look, he couldn't have asked for two better travel companions. Sadly though he didn't see how they were going to fix this mistake unless one of them learned quantum physics.

Sighing, he looked around and for the first time noticed that it was getting dark, "Well their's nothing we can do about this problem tonight. Right now our first priority is to find shelter and food," he said.

The two children nodded but then something dawned upon Robin and he looked at the older hero questionably, "Um Crow, how are we going to do that exactly?" he asked.

Crow frowned at him, "What do you mean Robin? I brought money with me," he said.

Robin quirked an eyebrow, "But what if it doesn't work here? This is a different dimension," he said.

Crow was about to start panicking seeing the child's logic when Lucy stepped in, "Don't worry Crow, as long as you brought cash with you it should be fine," she said

Her words calmed Crow down, "Right then, let's find us some food then," he said.

Robin was about to protest again but a glare from Lucy shut him up; great another female to boss him around, sigh.
