Hello. I am going to sweep through the characters for some quick chapters to see what everyone is up to in their day to day.

I have done this once before and it will give me chance to introduce Hikari and Kiyoshi a bit more since I have not really delved into either of them yet on their own.

I will also be doing another character write up to list the characters I have introduced as well as a physical description.

While Chiase went towards her own hut Sana made her way to her brother in-laws home next to hers. Jin had requested the day before if she would mind taking Nozumi for a bit to give the couple a bit of alone time. Sana was all too happy to oblige wanting to get as much practice as she could before her own child arrived within the upcoming year.

Knocking on the panel she waited a moment before Nen came to the door pushing the bamboo curtain aside.

"Sana." He greeted.

"Hello Nen. Jin had mentioned that I could take Nozumi for some time today." She began. As she had spent time with them since the arrival of their own daughter Nen was in fact extremely protective of the infant. He barely took his eyes off of her so she knew that it may be a task in itself to separate them.

"Did he now?" Nen questioned glancing back in, more than likely at Jin. Sana didn't have to wait very long to get her answer.

"Yes, I did." Jin replied coming to the door with the baby. "We're going to have to return to our patrol and guard duties soon. We won't be able to work the same shift anymore. We will have to take turns with me working during the day and you at night, when will we see one another Nen?"

"In passing." Nen replied nonchalantly as if it didn't bother him at all. Jin blinked at him a few times with a blank expression across his face before handing Sana the little girl.

"Keep her for as long as you want. She has been fed, changed, bathed, changed again...she should be held over for some time." Jin said.

"Alright. You both take all the time you like. I don't mind staying with my niece." Smiling and holding the infant closer to her she went to her own hut. Once inside she placed the baby down on the tatami mats and stared at her.

When she had been taken from her village she had known a few women her age who had just started their families but from what she could remember none of them had had their children yet when she was there. Now at the compound she was around so many different babies she couldn't help but wonder what her own child would look like.

Unwrapping the swaddle around Nozumi she took in her small hands with tiny fingers and even more delicate toes as the little girl furrowed her brow looking up at her with big brown eyes.

"Hello little Umi." She said taking her hands and kissing each one. "It's Auntie Sana. Ready to spend the day with me and the pups? I promised Izu and Rin that we would go visit them for tea this afternoon. I know Hotaru will just adore you and don't mind Hisashi if he nibbles on you a little bit. You can sit with the twins and Kozu."

Making sure she was in fact still dry and clean Sana secured the blanket around her once again in a comfortable swaddle before picking her up and making her way out of the hut. Seeing Emi going towards her own she followed her.

"Emi, are you going to come with me to the main house for tea?" She asked. Turning Emi shook her head.

"Not today. Mitsuo will be back soon with our children, we're going to harvest our berries today...well what we can salvage after the hatchlings and Yoshi get their hands on them." Smiling and giggling softly Sana returned it. "I will save some for you."

"Thank you Emi. I'll make sure to cook something good with it to share with all of you." Sana replied. "Have fun."

"You as well friend." Going their separate ways Sana went to the front of the compound finding Rin and Izumi on the deck. Seeing Riku standing guard at the front instead of Jiro she smiled at her adoptive father.

"Taking a break today Riku?" Sana asked in a teasing manner.

"Ha! With our two ladies plus all the pups, I would much rather be out there than managing this ruckus here." He teased back.

"I think you forget yourself Captain." Izumi stated feigning offense. "We are not that bad."

"Well, Hisashi did manage to make it to the tree line today and ended up in that awful mud puddle." Rin said smirking.

"I maintain what I said, my lady." Riku said with soft chuckle.

"Oh no, is he alright?" Coming up on the porch both Rin and Izumi gave a nod.

"His fur is a bit stained but it will come out eventually." Izumi replied. "He is inside absolutely devastated that he we shut him up in there."

"We can take tea inside to keep a better eye on all of them." Rin said standing. "I see you have brought little Nozumi."

"Oh yes. I had thought that it would be a task to get her away from Nen but I suppose he wanted a break just as much as Jin. I do hope they make good use of their time together." Following them in she saw that the kettle was already over the hearth to heat.

"I am glad that it is working out so well for them." Rin said as they sat. Hearing a whine from the rear of the house followed by the sounds of feet pattering on the wooden floor.

"Hey, hey." Hotaru said as she ran after Hisashi as he leapt into Sanas lap licking her hands furiously.

"Oh no. I heard you misbehaved today." Placing him down on the floor he pawed at the ground and whimpered at her rejection.

"Oooooo." Hotaru gushed at the sight of Nozumi breaking out into baby garble. Placing her down for the other two to get a better look at her Hotaru sat on her haunches with her knees bent up while Hisashi sniffed at the infant.

"You can lay her down in my room with the other three. Hisashi and Hotaru are very good with their younger siblings so we can relax and chat a bit." Rin offered. Nodding Sana took her to the room she shared with Sesshomaru and saw the twins in their basket with Kozu.

All of them were awake with Kozu sitting himself up when he saw Sana come in the room.

"Hello little ones." Sana chimed. "I brought a new friend for you." Laying Umi down beside the basket Kozu crawled out and made his way over to her lying beside her. Making his unique sound of a human infant and a puppy Hotaru climbed up on the futon sitting next to them.

"Nice." She said stroking her little brother's ears.

"I'm going to join your mothers." Standing Sana saw that Hisashi had not followed her and found him sitting outside the room. As she exited, he whined again begging for her attention. "Oh, alright." Bending down she picked him up kissing the top of his head before joining her friends.
