Seeing Ghost:
Location: Hollywood, CA.
Crow followed the Outsiders out of the boom tube and wasn't the least surprised when he found himself in a nice loft. Seeing how his father's counterpart acted by exploiting his team on social media, he wouldn't be the least surprised to learn if this version of his father was an actor or something.
The teen noticed an older female martian waiting for them, which surprised him a little since most Martians were extinct in his world. He took a moment to glance at Lucy, who looked rather calm; it didn't surprise him since she probably had seen through the mind of whatever bystander she'd searched that Martians existed here.
The older martian flew over to his father. "Gar are you okay?" she asked.
His father nodded, "Everything's fine M'gann, I'd like you to meet Crow, Lucy, and Robin," he said.
The now identified M'gann looked at them suspiciously. "Garfield said you were time-travelers?" she said.
Crow was about to correct her when the boom tube alerted him they had new arrivals to the interrogation; B01-Nightwing, B04-Superboy, B07-Tigress, 23-Black Lighting, 16-Helga Jace, B-30 Geo-Force, B31-Halo, B-32 Forager, G08-Cyborg, B33-Tara.
"So the martian called for backup," Crow thought.
The man that Crow guessed was Superboy ran up to M'gann and Nightwing crossed his arms, "Alright M'gann we're all here, now what's going on?" he asked sternly.
Crow paled when he saw Nightwing, Mar'i, June, and John's father. He hoped this version of the man was like the man he remembered from his childhood. It occurred to him then that this was the first time John was meeting his father since his death when he was an infant; glancing at the boy, he saw him studying the man closely.
M'gann sighed. "You know how Sphere alerted Conner earlier that she detected an energy impulse? Well, I sent Garfield and his team to investigate and they found these three at the scene. The three are claiming to be time-travelers," she said.
Everyone's mouth's dropped open, excluding the three in question and the Outsiders. Nightwing glanced at them sternly, "Time-traveling is risky; however, considering you're not the first time-travels to land in this era, I'm inclined to believe you," he said.
Crow sighed, "I'm sorry sir but I must correct you, you see it's true we were attempting time-travel but we landed in the wrong dimension. We don't belong in this world," he said.
Nightwing was about to say something, but Brion beat him to it. "Hold on! How can you believe him so easily? He could be a criminal pretending to be on our side for all we know," he said, pointing at them angrily.
Nightwing narrowed his eyes, "I was about to get to that," he said before he turned back to Crow, "If what you say is true then you wouldn't mind letting Mrs. Martian here confirm through your memories," he said.
Crow narrowed his eyes, "That depends sir, how deep does she need to see?" he asked, not liking the idea of someone invading his memories," he said.
M'gann looked at him "Just enough to let me know you're not a threat," she said.
Lucy, sensing Crow's discomfort, intervened then, "Theirs really no need for that, I can show you myself that we mean you no harm," she said.
M'gann looked at her, surprised that a Martian would be let another martian intrude in their mind, it was against Martian etiquette. Nonetheless, she looked at Nightwing and got his approval before nodding. Looking through the martian's memories she was surprised to find she was telling the truth; she was surprised to find that little miss martian was a part of a mostly female team.
What M'gann didn't know and something Lucy was careful to keep from her until Crow was ready to spill was who those girls were, or specifically who their fathers were. She only allowed her to know that Robin was the son of Nightwing and Barbara Gordon and Crow was the son of Beast Boy.
M'gann came back to her senses and gave the young martian a look of surprise. Lucy gave her a small smile and nodded in confirmation. Conner, seeing the surprised expression on his fiance's face asked, "What is it M'gann?"
M'gann ignored him and looked between Crow and Garfield, then to the younger boy and Nightwing. Crow and Robin looked at Lucy, wondering what she'd told the older Martian. Lucy smiled at them, "Just enough to keep suspicion off of us. Oh, and that you two are the sons of Nightwing and Beast Boy," she said, mentally.
Finally, M'gann spoke, "Um, Dick, Garfield, I don't know how to say this, but congratulations you're both daddies," she said.
"What!" everyone screamed.
M'gann rubbed her neck nervously, "Well according to her," she said, nodding over at Lucy, "Crow is the son of Garfield and Robin here is the son of Nightwing, in their world," she said.
M'gann looked at Nightwing, who was frozen up. "According to Lucy, he's Barbara's son too, oh, and he's also a Robin," she said, through the mind link. The info that he was Barbara's relaxed him a little, but the news his dimension-hopping son was into crime-fighting made him tense up.
Lucy, who had been secretly listing to the thoughts of everyone in the room, was surprised to read Nightwings disdain of hearing Robin was into crime-fighting. "John, your dad isn't happy to hear you fight crime," she said to him mentally.
John was slightly surprised to hear this, "Hmm, I always imagined he'd be happy that I was following in his footsteps if doesn't like me crime-fighting I can only imagine how he's going to react when he learns about Mar'i," he said through their mind link.
Nightwing digesting that he had a son with Barbara and that he was following in his footsteps, walked over to him, "So you're my son eh?" he said.
Robin/John nodded, this was just as awkward for him as it was for Nightwing and uncomfortable considering he had no memories of his father since he died when he was an infant.
Nightwing took a breath, "So what's your name?" he asked.
John sighed, "John, John Grayson," he said.
Nightwing felt his heart squeeze at the name that had been his father's name, "And you work for Batman," he said.
Robin/John nodded, but before he could say anything else Cassie interrupted. "Aren't you a little young to be working with Batman?" she asked, unaware of the fact that Nightwing had been eight when he started crime-fighting.
John smirked at her comment and handed a business card to his father, which he read out loud.
"Batman and Co.
Hello, I'm Robin, Batman is unavailable to come help at the moment so he sent me.
I know I'm a little young to be out fighting crime, but I assure you I'm qualified to do the job.
Thank you for understanding."
Crow laughed. Damian and Mar'i had given John those cards as a joke, but he'd taken it to the next level and handed them out whenever Batman sent him on an errand. Lucy found it hilarious, so she too had been given her own pack of business cards.
The Outsiders and older heroes didn't understand the joke instead they shrugged. Nightwing looked at M'gann, "So what are we going to do about sleeping arrangements?" he asked.
M'gann looked at Conner who nodded, "Well, Lucy can stay with me and Conner," she said.
Nightwing nodded, "I'll take John home with me, I'm sure Barbara would like to meet her son," he said.
Garfield interjected, "Crow can stay here with me," he said.
Lucy decided it was time to speak up, "Sorry, but the three of us can't be separated," she said.
Crow put a calming hand on her shoulder, he didn't like being separated from the kids either but right now they didn't have a choice. "It's okay you two," he said.
The two youngers looked at him a moment and then they nodded. "Very well," they said.
Nightwing nodded, "Great, now that's out of the way, let go get you all settled," he said.
So the three time-travels said goodbye and went to see their new living accommodations.
