A Trip to the Mall:

Crow and the Outsiders made it to the mall around five o'clock. Crow was taken aback by how similar everything was to his own world, but also relieved that he didn't have to worry about relearning everything. He was even excited about going to the mall, something he thought he'd never say in a million years; as being on a primary girls' team, he spent a lot of time there.

The Titan was a little stunned by the size of the shopping center. He'd hadn't expected it to be so large, none the less he was looking forward to exploring and seeing what clothes were in style here. Oh, if only his female comrades could see him now. Crow was immediately mesmerized by the grandness of the place. The mall in Paradise City had nothing compared to this place. He got so caught up looking at everything; he didn't notice the Outsiders watching him.

Beast Boy noted how his son acted like he hadn't been shopping in a while. "You alright, there?" he asked.

The question snapped Crow back to reality, and he bashfully rubbed the back of his head. "Oh, yes. I'm fine. I was just taken aback by the size of this place," he said, laughing a little.

The shapeshifter took him at his word and didn't pry any further. Cassie, looking to change the awkward atmosphere, grabbed Crow by the arm and began pulling him into the nearest store. "Come on guys, we've got to find Clow some clothes," she said

Before Cassie could drag them into the store; Bart intervened. "Wait, Cassie. Why don't you let the guys and I help Crow while you and the girls go have fun, and we can meet up later?" he said.

Cassie gave him an annoyed look. "I think I have more experience picking out clothes than you do, Bart," she said.

Virgil put his hands up. "No one denies that baby girl, but sometimes us boys need, you know, guy time? he said.

The blond gave him an unconvinced look, but decided not to argue. Turning away, she shrugged her shoulders. "That's fine. I guess me and the girls can do some of our own shopping," she said in that tone that implied otherwise. The boys could tell just by her tone that she was upset, but didn't change their minds. They were practically grown men. They didn't need any help to pick out clothes.

Bart laughed nervously. "Well, will see you later. Come on guys, let's go," he said, grabbing Crow's arm but was stopped by Cassie. "Oh, no you don't. If you think you can get rid of me that easily," she said.

As the two began bickering. Crow shook his head and began chuckling under his breath. While he waited for the two friends to stop fighting, he glanced around the lobby, trying to see if he recognized any of the stores. He recognized a bookstore chain that was popular in his world. It was why he was looking at the display window that an older man and a young girl caught his eye.

The little girl didn't look any older than eight years old. The child had pale skin and her bright red hair was cut in a bob; her bright blue eyes stared up in admiration at the man with her. She was also dressed in a uniform. Crow's heart squeezed as he looked upon her; for she reminded him of June Grayson. He quickly glanced at the man, trying to push away those painful memories. However, his heart nearly jumped out of his chest when he got a look at the man. "Oh God no," he thought in horror. For standing next to the girl was none other than Robert Dunne.

Images flashed through the titan's mind. None of them good ones. Once the shock wore off though; the rage took over. His fist clenched, and he gritted his teeth. What the hell was that demon doing here? How the hell could he be allowed to exist after all the horrible things he did? "Oh, God! The girl, he had to save the girl, but wait, what if this Dunne wasn't a killer? So many questions went through Crow's head at once.

The shapeshifter knew there was only one way he could know for sure if this Dunne was a threat. He had to know for his peace of mind, if he could save just one little girl from being murdered, maybe he could make it up to Mar'i, who'd been failed all those years ago. He looked at the man and got ready to read his mind, but before he could, his father grabbed him. "Dude, calm down!" he said, his face frantic.

Crow looked confused until he realized he was leaking his magic. He sheepishly rubbed his head. "I'm sorry, I got lost there for a moment," he said, noticing the Outsiders looking concerned.

Beast Boy quirked an eyebrow up. "Are you sure you're okay?" he asked.

Bart looked concerned. "Yeah Dude, you looked like you were getting ready to kill someone," he said.

Crow, not wanting to explain to them about Dunne, quickly came up with an excuse. "I'm afraid it was my powers. I'm an Empath, so from time to time I'll get an emotional overload," he said.

The team made an oh face as what he said made sense. Cassie looked at him sympathetically. "I'm so sorry Crow. I had no idea you were so sensitive, or I'd have been more careful," she said, thinking it was her fault for the Titan's emotional overload.

Crow smiled gently at her. "It's alright, Cassie. No harm done. Now, I believe we have some shopping to do?" he said.

Later that night:

It was a calm night and Crow had fallen asleep after giving the girls a fashion show of all his new clothes. Somewhere during the night, the time traveler was awoken by a voice calling out to him.

Groggily, he opened his eyes to find Tula standing over him. The brunette smiled lovingly at him. "Oh thank Neptune, you're awake," she said, stroking his face.

The shapeshifter looked worriedly at his girlfriend. "Tula? What's wrong?" he asked, sitting up, so they were face to face.

The Atlantean just laughed and took his hand in hers. "Nothing's wrong, Love. I just wanted to make sure you were okay," she said.

Crow was now very confused. "Why wouldn't I be alright?" he said.

Tula sighed. "It's just that you've been working so hard lately that I'm worried that you aren't taking care of yourself," she said.

Crow just chuckled and shook his head. "Don't worry about me, darling. I'm doing just fine," he said, flexing a bicep.

Tula chuckled and leaned in for a kiss. "I'm so glad to hear that, love. Now give me a, Ugh!" she said, putting her hand to her chest.

The shapeshifter's eyes widened in horror. "Tula, what's wrong!" he said, grabbing her by the shoulders. Slowly, Tula lifted her head. Her beautiful brown eyes were filled with pain, and blood was gushing from her chest and mouth. "C, Cr, Cro-w," she said, gasping for air.

"Tula!" he screamed, jumping out of the bed.

The Atlantean started to fall over, but he caught her. "Hang on, baby. I'm gonna get you help," he said, picking her up.

Suddenly, Tula's hand shot up and grabbed him by the scruff of his shirt. "It's too late, Crow. I'm not here," she said, disappearing.

"What?" the teen said, staring at his empty arms when a voice came from behind him.

"I'm out there," Tula whispered into his ear.

Crow snapped his eyes open and found himself in the middle of an angry ocean. Tula was standing a few feet away, her eyes glowing white with her magic. "The ocean is angry Crow. It's angry because you let me die," she screamed.

Crow looked at her, pained. "No! No, I didn't!" he said, his voice overcome with emotion.

Tula took a step forward, her face completely overcome with rage. "Yes you did, Crow. Now the ocean will make you pay," she said, directing one of her famous waves at him. Crow couldn't even scream as the ocean swallowed him whole.

NO!

Crow shot up in bed. His body was covered in sweat. It took a few minutes, but he finally calmed himself down, and luckily it appeared he had woken no one up. As he lay back down, he hoped John and Lucy were having a better night.
