Chapter 2- Red Like My Favorite Color

A pristine red and black Mustang drifted around a corner, its windows were drawn up but the music blasting so loud it was shaking the very atoms of the glass itself, making it a wonder how the one driving it hasn't gone deaf yet. The muffler blasted out a puff of fire as the gas was pushed all the way down to the floor. The brakes screamed as the tires screeched as the car came to a halt in front of a nightclub. The black tinted windows reflected the face of the bouncer that was in charge of making sure no never do wells made it inside of the club to cause havoc. Normally, they would have cursed and screamed at the person who dared to have disrespected them in such a way that they had just then, but instead, they could only gulp nervously as the driver side door popped open and a tall, developed, and beautiful huntress in training stepped out of the vehicle.

Ruby Rose sighed beautifully as she moved her long black and red hair over her shoulders and out of her silver eyes. Those very eyes turned and stared at the bouncer curiously, making the grown man a full head taller than her step back away in fear.

"H-hey," The bouncer spoke up. "You're not allowed to be here, you know. After the last time…"

"Last time…?" Ruby slammed the car door shut, making the man flinch as she casually walked to the front of her car and sat on the hood. "What could I and Strawberry here have done in such a short time, I wonder? Please, Greg, don't make this difficult for us both. You'll break my poor, fragile heart."

"T-that isn't my name…" Not-Greg pointed out, slumping his shoulders.

"It isn't?" Ruby seemed genuinely confused. "Mark?"

"Yeah," Mark nodded. "Greg got fired since he let you in last time, and well, the Malachites didn't much appreciate what you did…"

"Ugh, those girls." Rolling her eyes, Ruby slid off the hood of Strawberry and skipped up to the man named Mark. "They never did find out how to deal with situations like that. Oh well, they are going to have to get used to me quickly. Tell me, Mark, do you know why exactly Greg got fired?"

"Not really, I don't think I want to find out either…"

"Too bad, listen," Ruby grabbed Mark by the shoulder and pulled him down to her level so that she could whisper in his ear. Feeling her hot, berry-scented breath brush against his cheek made him flush a deep red color similar to that of the long red hood that draped behind Ruby with the wind with each step she took. "Greg was fired not because he let me in, it's because he tried to stop me. Now, want to guess what you're trying to do now?"

"I-I-"

"Sh, sh, sh, sh," Ruby patted him on the shoulder and ruffled his hair. "It's okay Mark. People make mistakes, I'll forgive you this once, however…"

Mark yelped when a part of his body was gripped so tightly it brought no such pleasure. His deep voice turned into a wail even higher-pitched than that of a young schoolgirl, and he wheezed when the grip became tighter still.

"I am not fond of giving second chances to people who don't deserve them. So, why don't you get out of the way before I demonstrate to you what exactly happened to Greg which got him fired in the first place?"

The threat- no, the promise was made clear. Mark nodded his head desperately and fell down to his knees holding his privates when Ruby finally let him go. Scoffing at the poor sight, Ruby let herself into the night club the only way she knew how.

Kicking the doors open so violently that they swung off their hinges and slammed into the two other bouncers that were too afraid to confront her in the first place were instantly knocked unconscious. Ruby sprinted onto the dancefloor using her semblance, rose petals floating around in the artificial wind forming a small weak tornado as Ruby bowed in the center of it, showing off. The bystanders who were just spending their time dancing remembered her from the last time and let her have the dancefloor all to herself.

She was quickly surrounded by a least a dozen and a half men wearing goofy and overly colorful uniforms with a mirage of several different colored sunglasses set resting on the bridges of each of their noses.

"Hello~!" Ruby greeted loudly in an innocent saccharine voice. "It's the wonderful, beautiful, skilled, and most importantly quick huntress in training," She whispered that last part silently. "Ruby Rose! And I am here to call in that favor that the great and admittedly pretty - although not nearly as much as me, haha - Malachite twins made to me just a few days ago! Now, which one of you will be the first to tell me where they are? Huh?"

A dozen and a half guns were trained on her.

"I'll give a kiss to the one who tells me~!"

After a moment, one of the guns slowly began to fall.

"Simon, don't you dare!" One of the other guards yelled at him.

Simon slowly, and sadly, aimed his gun back at Ruby.

"Stand down men!" Two twin voices called out at the same time. Ruby squealed excitedly as she looked up to the floor above them to see two sisters, twins, and one adorning a beautiful exotic white dress while the other one wore a similar, but a red dress with a few more ornamental adjustments. They looked down at her with their pretty green eyes that even Ruby had to admit looked adorable when they were trying to look intimidating. "I did make a promise to the red hooded girl here, and she is right to come by and try to collect on it. Wait right there Little Red Rose," The twins announced in unison as they began walking to the stairs. "We'll be with you in a moment."

Ruby waited patiently and rocked back and forth on her feet as the men surrounding her started backing away and putting their guns back into their holsters. Her head bobbed along with the catchy beat of the music blaring on in the background. Slowly, the dancers that ran away before started making their way back to the dance floor to continue having their fun. If they were lucky, Ruby would be patient for a few more moments so that they could-

"No more waiting!" Ruby exclaimed as she used her semblance to meet the Malachite twins are the bottom of the steps. She moved so quickly and abruptly that the two guards that were walking beside the co-owners were blown away by the force of the shockwave that blasted forward as a result of Ruby stopping so suddenly. Only the twins stayed standing, as they were strong enough to endure it without a sweat.

Ruby waved happily at them even as their guards groaned as they made to get back up to their feet. "Hi, Melanie! Hi other twin!"

'Other twin' growled lightly. "It's Militia."

"Yeah, whatever. So, do you have what I asked for?" Ruby asked right away, crossing her arms and huffing as the twins looked to each other and seemed to pass some silent message through the bond of their twin heritage.

"You asked a lot of us the last time you were here," Melanie began.

"We weren't fully prepared for your demands," Militia continued.

"But we worked with what little information we had,"

"And we have an answer to the question that you deem most important."

"You know, doing that thing where you form complete sentences like that makes me think that you scripted this," Ruby remarked. "That or very good improvising. I'm impressed! I should try this with Yang some time, but I think it might be a bit harder since we're not actually full sisters like you two are. Hm… decisions, decisions."

Melanie scoffed through her nose. "Look, do you want the news or what? We don't have all night,"

"We have a club to manage, after all." Militia pointed out. "We are scarce on time as it is."

"Yeah, yeah, I get it." Ruby sighed and twirled a strand of her hair in one of her fingers nervously. "So… were you able to find anything on a woman named Summer Rose anywhere?"

The two sisters looked to each other and sighed, a disappointed tension immediately filled the air. Ruby narrowed her eyes and brow at them when they both turned back to look her in the eyes.

"We apologize, Little Red Rose," Melanie began.

"The only thing we were able to find-"

"-was the official record of a filed missing person report from thirteen years ago."

"There was nothing else that could be done," Melanie affirmed. "Nothing that we can do."

"You know, I may have been inclined to believe you about that," Ruby said as she began to pace back and forth. "But there was something off about you two that I couldn't quite put my finger on the moment I saw you two. You see, you two of a reputation to maintain," Ruby explained as her eyes scanned the surrounding area. "And your most notable trait is the fact that you two never seemed to be surprised by anything, you are always prepared, always ready, you have eyes all over this city and even in other kingdoms if my other sources are to be believed. But there is also another trait that you two are known for, and the fact that you betrayed it immediately set me on guard."

"Is that so?" Melanie raised an eyebrow.

"Would you mind telling us what that is?" Militia raised her other.

"You treated me with kindness and respect," Ruby continued. "You were nice to me, called me by my Signal title 'Little Red Rose'. If there is one other trait you two are known for, is that you are major bitches with no sense of respect for anyone but yourselves."

Tensing up, Melanie and Militia widened their stances.

"You tried to manipulate me~" Ruby sang as she put her hands behind her back. "No one manipulates me and gets away with it without getting payback…"

Ruby disappeared in a flutter of rose petals right as Melanie and Militia both shot their legs forward in a combined kick. They started to cough and hack as the rose petals flew into their faces and open mouths when they gasped. In the next instant, an explosion of fire blew into each of their backs, shooting them over the railing and sent screaming all the way down to the center of the dance floor where bystanders screamed, panicked, and ran away for the exit.

Ruby sighed happily as she took out a large, red, and black mechanical rectangle from behind her back, holding it across from her body as she looked over the railing and saw every guard in the club run out and draw their weapons.

"Goofy looking guards of the Malachite Night Club," Ruby said as the mechanical rectangle transformed into a massive, intimidating scythe with a shiny red blade at the end. "Meet Crescent Rose. She's been hungry since I haven't slain any Grimm with her recently, let's feed her some of your yummy aura~!"

The guards all shot on her position at once, but once again Ruby turned into a flurry of rose petals and dashed to the closest man at the bottom of the steps, kicking him twice in the face and chest before swinging her scythe down from over her head. The red blade sliced clean through the man's aura, minorly injuring him as it sliced through his clothes and barely cut through the first layer of skin. Ruby bent down to her knee and flicked the man in the forehead as his glasses split in half, and he turned tail and ran away in fear.

The next man to dare attack her swung his baton at her. Ruby easily swerved underneath it and swept the man's legs out from under him, causing him to fall to the ground with a meaty thud as his weapon went flying out of his hands. Ruby giggled and kicked the man in the stomach, erasing the last of his aura in a flicker of color and knocking him out.

"C'mon Malachite twins!" Ruby cheered as she scythed through several more guards like a reaper of vengeance. Easily defeated a dozen men in as many seconds with her immense speed enhancement semblance. "I know you're still out there~! Unless we're playing a game of hide and seek than I highly suggest coming out and face me! If you do then I promise I won't bruise those pretty little faces of yours!"

"You idiots!" Militia exclaimed as she bore her clawed weapons. "What are we paying you for!?"

"Clearly not to be competent fighters!" Melanie screamed, stomping out along with her sister to take care of the threat themselves.

"Ah, there you are!" Ruby sang as rose petals fluttered powerfully around her. "I am so happy to see you two back to being yourselves! This is exactly how you greeted me the last time, right? Boy, I do wonder how different of an outcome it would be this time around~!"

"You won't get the drop on us a second time you little skank," Militia remarked.

"We'll make sure you teach you a lesson now," Melanie added.

"Oh, but you got one more thing wrong," Ruby said as she stopped for a moment to assume a thinking pose. "My title in Signal? It's not Little Red Rose, by the way. I lied to you the last time we met. Want to know what it really is?"

"We don't give a shit!"

"I am popularly known as…" Ruby's eyes shone white as her rose petals began to fly around much more violently. "The Red Reaper."

When Militia scratched through her with her claws, Ruby's after the image was the only thing that was disturbed. Militia screamed as a dozen blows were dealt with her so quickly her brain could barely keep up with the fact that she was being attacked. On the thirteenth strike, Crescent Rose hooked around her waist and hoisted her up into the air. Melanie's eyes widened as she saw her sister screaming and trying to free herself from the trapping momentum, and had no other choice than to dodge lest she gets slammed into the dirt along with her sister. Aura cracked and flickered as Militia cried out in pain when she was slammed into the ground.

Melanie soared back in as Ruby was in the process of pulling back her weapon. Her kick was thrown in her enemy's direction, but Ruby easily dodged by twirling to the side. She continued to smile and hum along with the beat of the music as Melanie desperately tried to hit her. The more that this continued the more Melanie continued to get angry and feel mocked for being too slow. Ruby ducked, dodged, twirled, and flickered through each and every one of Melanie's attacks. Even stopping for a moment to yawn while standing behind the woman to accentuate the fact that Melanie couldn't hope to actually land an attack on her.

"Are you done yet?" Ruby titled her head curiously at the sweating and fatigued Melanie as she held her hands up tiredly to her head. Her legs shook and could barely hold up the weight of her body. "You seemed to have gotten a good workout out of that. Want me to come by again tomorrow around nine? I could be willing to give you a few pointers on how to properly keep track of your target."

"F-Fuck you!" Melanie shouted. "Why the fuck do you even care about us!? We did what you asked, just fuck off and don't come back!"

"You see, I would have fucked off if you didn't try to manipulate me." Ruby pointed out. "But if you say sorry I might be willing to leave you alone lest I damage your reputation even more than I have already done."

"You little cunt!"

Ruby's smile cracked just slightly.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" Ruby asked, cupping her ear toward her direction. "I don't think I heard you right. What did you just call me?"

"You think you're so tough," Melanie laughed. "But you're really just a little, bitchy, sassy, cunt."

"Hm. Cunt. Such a hateful and ugly word." Ruby said with a disappointed shake of her head. "There's no reason to ever call anyone that. No matter what."

"Oh? Did I make you angry- GAH!" Melanie felt suddenly overwhelmed by pain. She looked down and saw a knee slammed into her stomach. She looked back up and straight into shiny silver eyes.

"Yes, actually," Ruby said, her smile completely gone and replaced with a scowl. "I am angry."

Melanie's aura cracked and she fell over onto her face when Ruby let her go. Her aura was still up, Ruby could tell. But she wasn't getting up from that last attack any time soon. Satisfied with herself, Ruby hummed and turned toward the remaining guards around her. Just daring them to try and attack her after what she had just done.

None of them moved a muscle.

"Smart move," Ruby said with a chuckle, her cheery grin returning.

She heard someone start moving her way behind her. "But I should have figured you'd be less smart, Junior."

"Hold on now," Junior, the head of security of the entire club raised his hands in surrender when Crescent Rose was gripped in both hands. "I'm not here to try and fight you. You won, there's nothing more to it than that."

"Mm, slightly smarter than I would have guessed," Ruby said as she stuck the end of Crescent Rose into the floor. Making Junior wince as two tiles were completely ruined as a result. "So what happens now?"

"Well… you already had your revenge," Junior pointed out as he gestured to the two owners of the club, writhing in pain on the floor. "To my knowledge, no one else should even be a concern to you. You're a huntress in training right?"

"Yup!" Ruby replied, one eye twitching slightly as Junior brought up the 'in-training' bit. "That's me."

"That means you must have some good control over yourself," Junior said. "Wouldn't a beautiful, strong, and wonderfully skilled huntress such as yourself be willing to show some mercy to surrendering foes?"

"Ho, ho~! You certainly know how to flatter a girl," Ruby giggled as she waved at her blushing face. "Very well, I'll let you off with a second chance Junior, you earned it."

Junior visibly sighed a sigh of relief as Ruby turned away from him.

He then shouted out a curse when someone took a pot shot at Ruby right as she was about to put away her weapon, shooting her right in the butt. Ruby yelped and rubbed her behind, glaring at Junior with a suddenly much more angry glare.

"WHO DID THAT!?" Ruby screamed, Crescent Rose, transforming into something Junior didn't want to be aimed at him.

Every single guard there, including Junior and even the writhing Malachite twins, pointed all to one man. The one from earlier that Ruby recognized.

"Mark," Ruby growled.

"H-Hey guys, what are you all doing?" Mark asked as he held a gun with a smoking barrel. "I heard fighting when I came to, isn't she the enemy here?"

"No man," Another guard said. "But you are in a heap of trouble now."

"G-Guys?" Mark asked helplessly, looking around for any hope of support.

He got none.

A sniper scope popped out of Crescent Rose. Ruby looked through it and pulled back a hammer Junior didn't even know was there.

Outside of the club, Mark's now unconscious body landed on the ground with smoke and fire burning off his aura. Ruby stepped out in a much better mood, although a little sore, she didn't kill him. Even if the idea did go through her mind for an instant or two.

About forty-five police officers surrounded her in the next moment.

"Oh, poop," Ruby said as she raised her hands in surrender.

"Ruby Rose!" The sheriff of the county called to her through an intercom. It was never a good thing when the sheriff knew your name yourself enough to dare to call it out publicly. "I'm going to have to take you in for obvious reasons. Stand down!"

Wait, her mom prepared her for this. She knew exactly how to reply!

"I'm not talking until I get a lawyer, Seth!"

"And that's how my night went!" Ruby exclaimed as she finished eating her bowl of hastily made porridge.

Yang's purple eyes glistened with excitement as she beamed at her older sister. "Wow, you had an even more fun time over there than I did when I fought Neo!" She exclaimed. "How are you so awesome!"

"The Gods of this world quivers before me and my skill," Ruby recited. "I am feared throughout the lands, come on Yang, this is common knowledge."

"Right," Yang laughed. "Of course it is, how could I have been so ignorant?"

"It's okay," Ruby patted her younger sister on the head. "How can I be angry at you for long? You went up against Neo and forced her to retreat and you met Cinder Fall! Seriously, I may have been awesome in that night club but none of those guys really knew how to fight. Hell, I'd be surprised if they knew how to tie their shoelaces in the morning."

"Haha," Yang laughed again. "I felt the same way about my guys! If it were just one on one I'm sure the old man would have been able to take any of them on all by himself!"

"How did mom take it?" Ruby asked next, leaning closer to her sister.

"Oh, she was so proud of me." Yang preened. "You should have seen her when she first heard the news. I hugged her and everything. You know how she is."

"Pft, yeah," Ruby rolled her eyes. "When I told her about what happened with me she literally gave me a high five and promised to take me to Beacon when its time to go over there for initiation. Considering the fact that she lived in a tribe full of bandits, I'd imagine that breaking the law is considered a virtue to her."

"Yeah, imagine how Uncle Qrow was back then," Yang giggled.

"Oh my gosh- do you think that he did the same things!?" Ruby gasped. "Was he just like Mom at one point? Ah! We have to ask him about that the next time we see him. What is he doing now anyway?"

"Still in Mantle," Yang sighed. "As always, being simultaneously a Huntsman of Vale and a Specialist of Mantle always makes me wonder how he has time to do anything. I mean, he can barely stand in place without feeling like there's something to organize."

The two sisters laughed their asses off together at the thought. Last night was certainly eventful for the both of them, Ruby went off to ask some questions to the wrong people in Vale while Yang went and bought a magazine at the right place at just the right time. Both of them won their fights for the most part, and both of them were rewarded by Raven for it as well! All in all, things were good.

"Oh yeah!" Yang exclaimed as she pulled out her scroll. "By the way, I didn't tell you yet but I guess now is as good a time as ever since you're leaving for Beacon today anyway. Headmistress Salem recruited me into Beacon two years early! You know what that means!?"

Ruby gasped as her silver eyes widened. "WHAT!?" She exclaimed, grabbing her sister by her shoulders and yanking her into her bosom for a tight hug. Yang flailed her arms wildly as access to air was denied to her as her sister jumped up and down, holding her face close to her chest. "My little sister is coming to Beacon with me! EEEEE! This is so exciting! I'm so proud of you!"

"Mmph!"

"I know right!? You must be so happy!"

"MMMMPPH!"

"Oh, right." Ruby laughed as she let go of Yang, she coughed for air and inhaled in several deep breaths. Once she recovered, she lunged back in and gave her older sister a much more controlled hug. Jumping up and wrapped her arms and legs around her waist and giggling along with her as excitement filled the room once more.

"I'm going to Beacon with you!" Yang officially announced, causing Ruby to 'whoop' once more in excitement as she ran her hands through her sister's soft, blonde hair. She was one of the only ones who was allowed to do that, and Yang didn't mind having her head pat by her one bit.

"I'm so proud of you!" Ruby said once she let Yang back to the floor. "So, I'm guessing you need my help with that application?"

"Oh, right," Yang pulled her scroll back out and showed it to her. "The thing is, I can deal with most of this stuff myself, but you see here it requires a signature from a parent or guardian, and since you're not my officially official guardian and Qrow is still across the world, there's just one person who can do it for us…"

"Mom." Ruby understood her immediately. "And she hates signing stuff."

"I think its mostly because she still barely knows how to write," Yang pointed out. "Which makes me wonder how she was able to graduate Beacon in the first place."

"She always said it was because she's just so strong?" Ruby offered.

"It has to be that." Yang nodded. "So, I don't want to walk into her room by myself. She just woke up, but you know she hates mornings even more than we do."

"Hm, you're right," Ruby said as she went through the application herself, making sure that Yang had everything right, like her name, last name, gender, and all the basic stuff. Just to be sure. She didn't bother checking her prior experience, she could trust Yang with that. "It was a hassle in itself just trying to get her to sign mine... Though yours is digital, can't you just forge it?"

"Ruby, don't you think I thought about that?" Yang asked, stomping her foot twice indignantly. "I don't want to risk getting in trouble and losing my spot in Beacon!"

"Alright, alright, calm down," Ruby said gently as she patted her head. "We'll go to Mom together, alright?"

"Yuh-huh," Yang shuddered. "You ready? I'd rather get this over with now, and while Salem didn't necessarily say there was a deadline Beacon's initiation is literally tomorrow. I'd imagine that if there was a deadline, that would be it."

"To Mom then!" Ruby cheered, taking her sister by the hand and escorting her up the stairs toward Raven's room. Yang laughed and moved with her. They were in front of her door a moment later. There were scratches and stains on the door, which got there through mysterious means, and behind that door was their mother. The sisters spared one last look to each other before nodding, agreeing to enter at the same time.

The door swung open and Yang and Ruby got stuck in the doorway, trying to squeeze past each other in order to get themselves into the room officially. When they finally achieved their goal, Ruby fell flat on her face while Yang fell backward since she was the first to pull back.

Raven sat up on her bed made out of straw - the sisters once asked her why she made her bed out of straw when she had a perfectly normal one before. That was the last time they asked a question like that to her.

"Wow," Raven laughed as she held a hot cup of coffee in her hands, still dressed in her huntress uniform. "You two are idiots. I raised idiots. What do you want?"

"Urgh," Yang sat up and rubbed the back of her head where she hit it. "Mom, I need you to sign something for me."

Raven sighed. "And like that my laughing mood is over. Sign what, girl?"

"The application for me to enter Beacon as a student!" Yang exclaimed. "You know, the one Salem sent you last night? The same one you forwarded to me an hour later?"

"I remember," Raven said.

"So why did you bother asking that question?"

"Hey, I didn't raise you to be a smartass, brat," Raven said as she scratched her ear.

"Ugh," Ruby pushed herself up off of Raven's floor. The floor was riddled with clothes and old weapons that Raven had tried before and the ones that Ruby and Yang broke during their experiments to build their first weapons. Their mom's room really was a mess, but the upside to that was that she never bothered to tell them to keep their rooms clean. Oh, Qrow tried to get her to do that once, but that something Raven just didn't care for and only did it to shut him up. "Mom, it's just a short little R-B squiggle, that's all we are asking for."

Raven sighed explosively again and fell back in her bed and under the sheets.

"Moooom!" Yang squealed, getting back up and jumping into Raven's bed. "Please? Pretty please? Just your initials, that's all I'm asking for."

"Yeah, pretty please?" Ruby got into the bed on the other side, squashing Raven in between both her daughters. "It's so she can come to Beacon with me, wouldn't it be awesome to be able to rub it in everyone's face back in your tribe that not just one but both your daughters are students of Beacon just like their mother before them?"

Raven peeked through the covers ominously.

"It is an enticing thought…" She had to admit. "Fine, you won me over there. I give you six points on the manipulation execution."

"What'd I lose four points for?"

"Because you've used it countless other times and I feel like it," Raven said as she sat back up. Her daughters giggled at her unintentional joke. "Fine, gimme the damn thing. You better be ready now because I'm taking you both over there the minute I'm ready."

"Mom, we've been ready thirty minutes ago," Yang pointed out. "The ship to Beacon takes off in a few minutes. The only reason we haven't started to freak out already is because we know your semblance can take us to the port in an instant."

"Ugh, why didn't you tell me this earlier!?" Raven shouted as she quickly scribbled her initial digitally into the application and hit send the moment the pop up appeared.

"Because we're terrified of you in the morning and we don't want to risk angering you with our requests?" Ruby and Yang answered at the same time without missing a beat.

"You could have just said you're smart," Raven remarked. "That would have made me understand what you just said much faster."

"Eeee! I can't believe this is really happening!" Yang squealed as she hopped up and down in place as the red portal shut behind them.

"Me neither!" Ruby exclaimed, equally as excited as her sister. "I didn't think this year could get any better! I perfected Crescent Rose's initial idea and design - even successfully getting Mom's help in getting the same kind of red Etricium metal that she used to make her own sword - applied and got accepted into Beacon Academy, passed my last year at the top of my class and now I have my little sister coming with me to Beacon so I don't have to leave her alone with Raven!"

"I know right!" Yang shouted along with her. The other successful applicants steered away from them since they were being so loud, but they didn't care, they were on their way to Beacon at that very moment!

Cinder Fall appeared on a hologram not too far down the hall as well, Yang and Ruby were amongst the crowd to see and hear what she was saying, which was basically just an explanation of what they were supposed to do once they got to Beacon and where they should go to assemble for the Headmistress' speech and where they were going to spend the night and prepare for tomorrows initiation. It was rather boring to be completely honest, but the fact that Cinder Fall was delivering the message herself got most of the other students already in awe.

"Meh," Yang waved it off and wandered away. "She's not all that's cracked up to be."

"Didn't she nearly bring down a Bullhead with a bow and arrow?" Ruby remarked.

"Yeah, she's good I'll give her that. But her personality is a literal shoelace."

"Pft," Ruby chuckled. "Why a shoelace?"

"Because you tie it once and then leave it alone for as long as it takes before you have to tie it again. In other words, boring and uninteresting. And in case the shoelaces are the stupid kind that doesn't stay tied, then just plain annoying."

"Wow Yang, that's a bit harsh don't you think?" Ruby asked. "She was just doing her job and you did break the law."

"What was I supposed to do?" Yang replied. "Just let Neo and her goons rob the store while I just kicked back and watched? No way! I get that it was her job but she could have at least gave me some credit for standing up to them." The blonde huffed and adjusted one of her pigtails.

"Just give her another chance, alright? She deserves it." Ruby plead, patting her sister on the back. "Cinder is a huntress and the deputy to the Headmistress herself. That has to count for something right? And besides, you only ever met her on the field, she should be much more reasonable when off it."

"Hm…" Yang considered the choice for but a moment. "Okay… I'll give her another shot."

"That's the spirit!"

The two girls bumped into another all of a sudden, causing them both to stagger back as the redheaded green-eyed girl looked at them with wide, owlish eyes. She cupped her hands over her mouth and moaned through them, a desperate message she tried to pass that didn't at all make it to the understanding of either of the sisters.

"Woah there, what was that?" Ruby asked, confused. "What are you trying to say?"

The redhead tried to speak. "I-I HRGH-"

The girl hunched over and threw up all over the floor.

Ruby and Yang screamed.

What a way to start Beacon huh? Just to stop you all from wondering, that redhead girl at the end was in fact Pyrrha. I just didn't write her name since this was writing from the perspective of Yang and Ruby, so they of course didn't know her name which didn't allow me to write her name down. But I just wanted to get that out of the way. No use hiding it, and I'm sure most of you figured it out already anyway the moment she appeared.

Won't be hard to guess who she is having her role reversed with, huh?

By the way. Those little Omakes that I plan to write at the end of some of these chapters will come out every other chapter, so while this one doesn't get one, the next one does, but the next one doesn't, and so on and so forth. Just wanted to get that out of the way, I don't want all of my cards being dealt so quickly so soon.
