Hi! I'm here with chapter 52. Warning; this chapter is rather long compared the rest. there is a lot of things happening in this one, and I couldn't afford to split it over two chapters like I have done with others otherwise the story would probably end up with 70+ chapters! XD

Invincible Shinji: Willis is going to appear in this chapter, but I'm not sure on his kids yet.
RSBCS: Thanks :) I'm glad you're enjoying them despite the wait! Lol
Sync The Dragon Tempest: Thanks :) Yeah, Myotismon's a sly one in getting them to hand it over to him!
H.R.C Stanley: You'll just have to wait and see :)
Sweet Cari: Let's hope it goes according to plan… XD
ShipperOfAHundred: Yeah, after what they've been through lately who can blame him?
Yokai Watch: I don't really have any plans to use the other DigiDestined from around the world and their kids. I want to keep focused on the Japanese DigiDestined. I do have drawings of the others on my deviantart account, but not as many as Dawn.
Greymon Leader Batx flashpoint: Thanks, glad you're enjoying it :)
BlazingCourage: Thanks :) Life's Little Adventures is a slow progress XD but I haven't forgotten about it!
DinoGuy2000: Thanks. Yeah, the battles between the DigiDestined and the Nightmare Six are going to heat up in the next few chapters or so :)
Alice: I like your idea :) unfortunately I already had most of the chapter written beforehand. But that could happen in future chapters.

Thanks again to everyone else who has read, reviewed, faved etc... hope you enjoy!

Digimon 2.5 "Adventure 03"

Episode 52: "Grandracmon's Grand Return"

.:Odaiba Elementary, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

It was approaching one o'clock in the morning. All the DigiDestined were asleep, huddled together in their respective families on the floor of the gymnasium, getting much needed rest before morning would break. To make the hard surface of the floor more comfortable Davis and Ken had found some gym mats for everyone to lie on. As the clouds parted outside, the moonlight shone through one of the windows, hitting Agumon's face.

The rookie Digimon squirmed a little in his sleep, rolling over across the mat. He turned over onto his opposite side, his arms sprawled out. Stirring a little, he was woken from his sleep upon realising something wasn't quite right. Usually, when sleeping next to Tai, when he rolled over he would end up bumping into his partner, or smack him with his arm. The fact he hadn't been shouted at nor had a pillow thrown at him, caused him to open his eyes. Agumon yawned, sitting up. "Tai?" the space where Tai had been lying was empty. Agumon looked across to where Margaret and MJ were sleeping on the mat next to him before searching around the rest of the room. That's when he noticed the door to the gymnasium was open a little.

Now curious Agumon got to his feet, being careful not to wake the others. He quietly made his way across the gymnasium and slipped through the open door and into the hallway. "Tai?" he called quietly. After receiving no answer he continued on down the hallway, passing trophy cabinets and lockers on either side. The door at the other end was also open ajar. The worry began to build as the rookie Digimon quickened his pace a little. He opened the door further, and peered outside. He then sighed in relief when he spotted his best friend.

Tai was out on the soccer field, casually kicking a soccer ball about. He flicked the ball up a little in the air before kicking it towards the goal. The ball struck the top left corner of the post and bounced back, allowing him to stop it with his foot.

Agumon smiled slightly as he stepped out and headed over towards him. "It's not like you to miss the target." He said, announcing his presence as Tai looked over his shoulder. "You should be resting Tai; we'll both need our strength for later."

"I can't sleep." His partner replied with a sigh. He kicked the ball again; this time hitting the target. He kicked it with such force it hit the back of the net and rolled back out. "Playing soccer used to help me take my mind off things…"

"I don't think it will help you take your mind off this," Agumon admitted. He flinched as Tai kicked the ball a lot harder that time. Again it hit the net and rolled back to him. "I was worried when I woke up and you weren't there. I thought something had happened to you."

"Sorry buddy," Tai replied as he gently kicked the ball again. "I kept tossing and turning, so I thought I'd just come out here for some air... I just can't stop thinking about Dawn and Kari," He watched as the ball slowly rolled past the line and came to a stop in the goal. He sighed and walked to the edge of the field and sat down on the bottom bleacher. "He's kidnapped Kari before but somehow this just feels… different. Maybe it's because I was only a kid back then and I didn't understand the seriousness of the situation as I do now but… I just have this horrible feeling Myotismon isn't going to hold back on his threats... I... I'm a little scared what'll happen if Izzy's plan doesn't work…"

Agumon remained standing, staring at his partner. He couldn't remember the last time he had heard Tai say he was scared. It was something he very rarely admitted…

"I shouldn't have left Dawn alone yesterday morning. I should have brought her with me…"

"Hey it's not your fault Tai. None of us knew this was going to happen so you can't blame yourself, and in case you haven't noticed; Dawn is a pretty tough kid. She can take care of herself." Agumon said light-heartedly.

Tai smiled slightly as he looked up at the sky. There was a slight mist in the air which gradually got thicker towards the direction of Myotismon's castle. "I know," he murmured.

There was no doubt that Dawn was a tough kid. She always had been ever since she was little. Even when faced with children older than she was, she never backed down; even if it did end up getting herself in trouble. But this was different. His daughter wasn't simply faced with some children older than her… she was faced with a powerful Digimon who was thirsty for revenge. Agumon was right; no matter how much he kicked that soccer ball about it wouldn't take his mind off one thing;

Myotismon had his little girl; and at this moment he couldn't do a thing about it…

.:Chiba Region, Japan:.

Sora stirred a little as she awoke from her sleep. The sound of the plane was the first thing she heard as she slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head up. She then realised she wasn't in New York anymore, and the events of the past sixteen hours or so came flooding back. She had fallen asleep a while ago, resting her head against her jacket she had propped up as a makeshift pillow. She had tried her best to stay awake to keep Willis company, as his two partner Digimon had been asleep for most of the flight, but after fighting against her fatigue she finally gave in and drifted off for some much needed rest.

"Hi… or should I say; Good morning."

"Huh?" Sora turned to Willis who was sitting to the left of her. "Morning?"

Willis nodded. "Yup. It's almost four thirty in the morning local time. We're just beginning our decent over the Chiba region so we will be landing at Haneda Airport soon." He explained. "We've made pretty good time too. We should be arriving roughly fifty minutes earlier than my original estimated time."

Sora yawned as she looked out of the window and down at the city lights below them. "I've slept longer than I thought… sorry, I was supposed to be keeping you company."

"No need to apologise. You needed the rest."

Sora smiled slightly before she turned her attention back to the window as Willis tried to make contact with Haneda Airport to inform them of their arrival. The control tower responded advising not to land, but gave the go ahead for Willis to do so at his own risk. Sora began to feel a little uneasy as the reality of the situation began to sink in again. Even though she was glad to be back home; she had no idea what she was arriving back to. All she had was the images of the Digimon all over the city from the news reports. She still had no idea if her family and friends were alright or if anything else had happened whilst they had been flying back. She sighed a little as she looked ahead, noticing the sky was gradually lightening as the sunrise was approaching…

"You okay?"

Sora slowly nodded. "I'm just a little nervous… A lot could have happened since we left New York… Every time I close my eyes all I keep seeing is those X Digimon… everywhere." Her eyes fell upon the lights of Odaiba and Rainbow Bridge in the distance as they approached Haneda Airport. "I still haven't heard from Tai… I'm worried something has happened to him…"

"We don't know that for sure yet," Willis tried to reassure her. "Everyone could be fine, and amongst the chaos of what's been happening they've possibly been unreachable."

"I hope so…" Sora mumbled as she continued to stare out of the window.

The plane continued to descend down as Willis lined it up with the approaching runway. He could tell the airport was closed as there were no signs of any of the aircrafts moving on the ground or taking off, which was an unusual sight for the international airport. Just then, as he straightened the plane up to land, a dark shadow flew over the runway, visible against the lights. "Huh? What's that?" he wondered aloud, catching Sora's attention. The shadow then suddenly changed direction and soared up heading straight for them. "Look out!" Willis exclaimed. He swiftly turned the small plane quickly to the left, just missing a head-on collision.

The sudden change in direction had woken Terriermon and Lopmon from a few seats behind. The two rookie Digimon jumped awake and quickly popped their heads up from behind one of the seats. "Willis, what's going on?" Terriermon asked.

Sora gasped in horror. "Parrotmon!" she exclaimed as she had caught a glimpse of the giant bird Digimon as he had flown past very close to the window.

"Oh great not the welcoming I was hoping for…" Willis quickly regained control, steadying the plane as it rapidly approached the ground. He managed to align it back with the runway just in time as the plane's wheels touched down on the tarmac.

Sora grasped the arm rests of her seat tightly as she felt the plane sway a little, but the fellow DigiDestined remained in control as he applied the brakes, and the aircraft eventually came to a stop. She breathed a sigh of relief, falling back in her seat.

"Well, I've had worse landings…" Willis commented light-heartedly with a chuckle.

"Uhh Willis, he's coming back." Lopmon warned as he peered out of the window to see the ultimate level Digimon soaring down from the sky back towards them.

Willis quickly unbuckled himself from his seat. "You two better digivolve quick." He ordered.

Parrotmon X squawked loudly as he dived down towards the stationary aircraft at the end of the runway. The two large red feathers on his head began to ignite as he fired up his attack… "Sonic Destroyer-"

Suddenly, from behind the side of the plane, Gargomon and Wendigomon appeared and immediately fired their attacks before Parrotmon X had chance to release his.

"Gargo Pellets!" Gargomon fired a continuous round from both of the guns on his arms…

"Koko Crusher!" Wendigomon released an almighty shockwave…

The two attacks hit Parrotmon X just as he was almost on top of them. The blast knocked him off course and he was thrown to the ground; crashing into a parked empty plane at one of the gates at the terminal.

Willis and Sora soon emerged from within the plane just in time to see Parrotmon X get back up onto his feet, growling in anger. "He must be an X Digimon. He looks different to the Parrotmon I remember..." Sora commented.

"No doubt we attracted his attention when we were coming in to land..." Willis added.

Gargomon and Wendigomon both charged forward, preparing to attack once more…

Parrotmon X snarled before he too charged towards them. Gargomon was the first to reach him, but he simply swatted the champion level Digimon away with his claw, due to their difference in size. He then jumped up spreading his wings and glided high above Wendigomon. "Sonic Destroyer!" He unleashed a powerful bolt of lightning from his forehead, blasting Wendigomon away.

Willis watched in awe as his two partners tried to attack again, but were easily knocked back once more.

Sora watched Parrotmon X blast Gargomon into the side of the terminal building. She knew Parrotmon X was an ultimate level Digimon, and he would be even stronger with the X antibody...and with both of Willis's Digimon only at the champion level there was no way they were going to defeat him.

They needed Biyomon…

.:Odaiba Park, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

Back in Odaiba, the sky had begun to brighten in the east, but not sufficient enough to be declared as sunrise. The mist still surrounded Myotismon's castle, but it wasn't enough to block out the impending sun that would soon be making its appearance.

Tai and Agumon were standing at the edge of the park just in front of the bridge that would lead them across the frozen bay to the battery island. Tai was staring ahead at the castle through the mist. He was holding the chest under his left arm, having removed the supporting sling he had been wearing for the past few days, despite Joe's protest his arm still needed a little more time to fully heal.

Izzy and Matt emerged through a gap in the trees and approached him from behind with their partners. "You ready Tai?" Izzy asked, to which the bearer of Courage responded with a nod. "Remember, be careful. We'll be in position to lure the Nightmare Six away from Myotismon. He'll be more vulnerable when he hasn't got them to hide behind."

"I sure hope this works Izzy…" Tai said with a sigh before he and Agumon stepped onto the bridge.

Izzy watched them for a moment as they began to walk across. "Me too…" he admitted once they were out of earshot, to which Matt placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

.:Fuji TV Station, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

Biyomon sighed quietly to herself as she stared out of the window in Matt's office, watching the sky brighten. She had woken up just over half an hour ago after having a restless night's sleep. When Matt had arrived last night to collect Margaret and MJ he had given her a brief explanation of the situation. He had told her not to worry, but that's exactly what she had been doing all night. She felt partially responsible. She should have been watching over Dawn in Sora's absence, and should have stopped her from leaving the TV Station…

The rookie Digimon turned away from the window and fluttered up into the chair at Matt's desk. His laptop had been left on all night which was currently streaming the local news reports. It continued to show images of the damage that had been caused across the city and a few of the remaining X Digimon that were still wandering the streets, as well as shots of Myotismon's castle. Biyomon glanced over to where Mika was currently sleeping on the sofa in the corner of the office.

The young woman had also been told about Dan's capture, and had taken it surprisingly well and remained calm… although she was shocked; she said she had faith in her husband and friends that they would successfully rescue her son and the others.

"Huh?" Biyomon turned her attention back to the small screen of the laptop when a new news report flashed up, catching her eye. The headline was 'Haneda Airport under Attack'. She watched as it showed some footage and photos some of the stranded passengers had taken from inside the terminal of what was currently happening out on the runway. "It's Parrotmon…" Biyomon whispered to herself. Another image flashed up, this time clearly showing Sora and Willis in the background. Biyomon gasped loudly. "Sora!"

.:No. 6 Battery Island, Odaiba, Tokyo:.

Wisemon was currently levitating a few feet above the ground on the island, just up from the edge of the bridge. His legs were crossed with his hands resting in his lap, and his eyes were closed. Behind him were two Boltmon X, loyally guarding the main entrance to the castle. Wisemon had been in that position for some time now; having been ordered to wait outside for the arrival of the DigiDestined. It had been a long wait, but he was a patient Digimon, and had enjoyed the peacefulness of the night. He then moved; straightening his back slightly and slowly opened his eyes, staring ahead at the bridge in front of him… "They are here…" he said softly to himself.

Through the mist, Tai and Agumon soon emerged as they made their way across towards the battery island. Agumon noticed Wisemon, but his attention soon turned to the two Boltmon X just behind the floating Digimon, who had already seen they were coming and raised their axes a little. "Should I digivolve Tai?" he asked quietly, glancing up at his partner.

Tai watched the two Boltmon X carefully as he and Agumon neared the end of the bridge. "Not yet…"

One of the Boltmon X growled and raised his axe above his head and suddenly charged, preparing to attack, causing Tai and Agumon to freeze on the spot.

Wisemon slowly lifted his hand up, signalling for the mega Digimon to halt; to which he did coming to a stop just behind him. "Stand down," he ordered calmly. "Our lord is expecting them. They bring with them something of importance to him. They are no threat to us." He replied, his eyes falling upon the chest under Tai's arm.

Boltmon X grunted as he lowered his axe reluctantly. "Very well," he muttered.

Tai and Agumon continued, and reached the end of the bridge and stepped off it, coming to a stop at the edge of the island. They watched as Wisemon slowly stretched his body out so he was standing upright in midair, and Tai tightened his grip a little on the chest.

"Come with me," Wisemon simply said. He turned, and glided through the air up towards the main doors to the castle.

Tai and Agumon slowly followed him, cautiously walking past the first Boltmon X who had initially charged at them, who in turn glared at them as they passed by. The battery island looked almost unrecognisable as they made their way towards the castle doors. The pathway was rough and uneven as the earth had been shifted when the castle had been formed. They reached the doors, passing the second Boltmon X who was just as hostile.

Wisemon raised his hand, and commanded the doors to open. They slowly creaked apart and Wisemon motioned for the bearer of Courage and his partner to enter first.

They silently obeyed and made their way inside the castle; coming face to face with the main room which looked empty, and it felt cold. Very little natural light filled the room as the small windows were so high up in the wall. The only other light was coming from the opposite side next to Myotismon's coffin where four candles were burning on a candlestick stand. The large doors suddenly shut, startling Tai and Agumon. That's when they noticed Wisemon had disappeared. They then heard someone laugh; a laugh they knew all too well…

The lid to the coffin slowly creaked open, and Myotismon stepped out. He walked a little further into the middle of the room; but still kept a large gap between himself and Tai and Agumon. He then chuckled to himself, noticing the large cut on Tai's forehead. "Still bearing the scars from our last encounter I see?" he commented, to which Tai glared back at him.

Outside, the two Boltmon X had resumed their positions side by side, although they had moved slightly closer to the edge of the island just in front of the bridge. As they remained on guard, one of them noticed a faint light shimmering through the mist; seemingly coming from somewhere on the bridge or beyond.

"What's that?" Boltmon X growled. He stomped a few steps forward, squinting a little to try and see what was flashing; but all he could see was the shape of a round light of some sort. He growled again, raising his axe a little. "Someone's here…" he muttered. He stormed out onto the bridge, leaving his fellow Boltmon X on guard, breaking out into a small jog as he disappeared into the mist.

The other Boltmon X watched as he vanished from sight. But just as he did, a large flash exploded through the mist. Boltmon X immediately ran onto the bridge, leaving his post. He ran across raising his axe, but he slowly came to a stop when he came across some smouldering dark marks on the ground; the aftermath of an explosion. He looked around. There was no sign of his fellow guard anywhere. Looking back in front of him, he then saw the figure of Matt slowly walk into view through the mist. He snarled and raised his axe as the DigiDestined stopped a good twenty feet or so from him.

Suddenly, before Boltmon X had chance to attack, a stream of missiles came soaring out from the mist and over the top of the Matt. The X Digimon blinked in surprise, and didn't have time to react as the missiles dipped down and blasted him. The force of the explosions caused his axe to fly out of his hand and impale the ice below the bridge. Once the smoke had cleared; Boltmon X had gone.

Through the mist MetalGarurumon appeared, stopping beside his partner. He was soon joined by Margaret, Gatomon, Fernanda, Armadillomon and Andromon.

"Alright, let's go." Matt said, motioning to the castle.

High in the sky, Unimon approached Myotismon's base from above. He paused for a moment, looking down at the bridge that connected the two tallest towers. After a few moments, ChaosGallantmon emerged from within the right tower making his way slowly across the bridge. "Okay, are you two ready?" he asked, glancing over his shoulder at Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon who were sitting on his back.

The two Digimon nodded. "Ready!" they replied in unison. They both hung on tight as Unimon spread his wings and soared down towards the castle, getting as close as he could to the NeoDevimon statues on top but without being seen by ChaosGallantmon. As he glided past two on the west side of the castle, Pumpkinmon leaned over. "Hey over here you lump of stone!"

"Yeah you overgrown gargoyle! Come and get us!" Gotsumon added.

The eyes on one of the NeoDevimon statues suddenly lit up, turning a dark glowing shade of red. His body slowly began to transform from stone into his true form. He had been in a crouched position, but when he slowly began to stand upright, Unimon was a little taken back at how tall he actually was.

Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon didn't seem fazed at all as they continued to taunt, awakening the rest of the NeoDevimon statues. Unimon increased his speed, flying full circle around the castle as one by one the NeoDevimon spread their wings and left their posts in pursuit.

ChaosGallantmon stopped walking after hearing the sounds of cracking stone. He looked up and saw the last two NeoDevimon leave the castle. "What's going on?" he muttered. "What are those fools doing?"

Unimon led them around the top of the castle before he dove down and purposely flew in between the two towers and over the top of the bridge approaching the mega Digimon from behind.

ChaosGallantmon just turned around to look behind him as Unimon swooped past, catching him off guard. He jumped back out of the way of the oncoming group of NeoDevimon who continued to give chase. Once they had passed, ChaosGallantmon growled and glared up at Unimon who then broke off and began to fly towards Rainbow Bridge, with Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon pulling faces and shouting more insults at the pursuing NeoDevimon…

"Alright Myotismon," Tai said sharply. "We've brought the chest. So where are they?" he demanded, as Agumon growled.

Myotismon chuckled. "Straight to the point I see…" he simply replied. He then clicked his fingers, and the floor began to rumble. "I was hoping to have all of you DigiDestined present, but after poor Dianamon was unlucky not to survive her little tussle with Omnimon I realised I cannot waste anymore time trying to hunt all of you down as well as the chest…"

As he spoke, parts of the stone slabs on the floor on the left side of the room opened and the tremors increased as four small metal cages ascended upwards from underground; each one containing TK, Kari, Dan, Cody and their Digimon. Kari immediately spotted her brother, and jumped to her feet running to the bars of the cage. "Tai!"

On the opposite side of the room to the cages, SkullMeramon X stepped out from within the darkness. He was holding a single chain in each of his hands with the end hidden in the dark. He tugged on the one in his right hand, pulling Dawn into view; her wrists tightly bound by the chain. SkullMeramon X then pulled on the chain in his left hand, revealing Agumon who also had his claws tied; only he had a separate smaller chain tied around his mouth.

"Dad!" Out of impulse, Dawn attempted to run to her father, but she was immediately stopped by SkullMeramon X yanking the chain back, causing her to cringe as her arms were pulled back.

"Dawn-" Tai took a step forward, but his view of his daughter was blocked as Myotismon stepped in the way.

"Not so fast…" the vampire Digimon warned. "Don't forget why you are here. The chest; Hand it over." He demanded.

Tai hesitated at first, tightening his grip a little on the chest. He glanced over to his sister and saw the fear in her eyes as she stared back at him. He looked over to his daughter, where SkullMeramon X was teasing him by tugging on the chains a little. He then looked back at Myotismon who had a small sly smile on his face. Tai glared back at him, knowing full well the vampire Digimon was enjoying the situation he had put them in. "Here," he finally said. "Take it." He bent down and slid the chest across the floor.

The chest reached Myotismon, and he stopped it with his foot. He bent down and picked it up, smiling as he admired it. "At last…"

Dawn held her breath. She knew it would only be a matter of time before he would realise the chest couldn't be opened without the key…

"Okay you have your stupid chest now how about you let the others go so we can fight this battle fair and square!" Agumon snapped. He received no answer, which only irritated him more.

Myotismon then chuckled. "You have no idea what is inside here do you?" he mocked. "There will be nothing 'fair and square' about this fight once I open this chest. You should count yourselves lucky DigiDestined that you have been spared for this long. The Nightmare Six are ruthless Digimon who would have destroyed you straight away if I hadn't ordered them to hold back."

"Why are we so 'lucky' then?" Cody spoke up from within his cage as he glared at the vampire Digimon. "You obviously want us to see what is inside that thing otherwise you wouldn't have kept us locked up."

"I felt it was only fair given our history together that I share with you the contents of this chest before you meet your demise." Myotismon replied before he slowly began to smile. "I have unfinished business to take care of regarding the Digital World and once you are all out of the way there will be no one capable of stopping me."

The NeoDevimon were still giving chase as Unimon descended down as he approached the bridge; preparing to fly underneath it. Pumpkinmon stuck his tongue out and blew a raspberry at them, causing the NeoDevimon at the front to snarl and break away from the group. "Uh oh…" Pumpkinmon gulped as the ultimate Digimon began to close in on them.

Unimon glanced over his shoulder and gasped. He quickened his pace as he soared down underneath the bridge and flew around the large support leg.

NeoDevimon soon followed and roared, gliding around the support leg in pursuit. But as he did he was greeted with Zudomon's hammer, which swung round and struck him head on.

Joe, who had been hiding underneath the bridge next to the support leg smiled. "Nice shot Zudomon." He complimented as Unimon landed onto the ice next to him.

The other six NeoDevimon soon arrived, flying around underneath the bridge into view. Zudomon raised his hammer once again. "Vulcan's Hammer!" he flung his hammer at the group of fallen angel Digimon, destroying another two and causing the rest to scatter high up into the sky where MetallifeKuwagamon and Crowmon were waiting with their partners sitting on their backs.

"Kunai Wing!" Crowmon spread her wings and threw sharp bladed feathers at one of the NeoDevimon, which exploded on impact.

MetallifeKuwagamon jumped back in the air as a NeoDevimon swiped his huge claws at him. "Homing Laser!" he fired a beam of energy from the gun points on his fingertips, blasting the evil Digimon from point blank range before spinning around and firing a second blast at another one lunging towards him.

"Did it work?" Gotsumon asked as Crowmon and MetallifeKuwagamon dropped down onto the ice either side of Zudomon as the final NeoDevimon snarled and spread his wings preparing to attack as he hovered above them…

Suddenly a dark wave of energy engulfed NeoDevimon from the left. The attack instantly corroded his body, and in a spit second he was gone.

"I think it has…" Joe replied calmly.

"Pathetic watchmen…" a voice scoffed. The DigiDestined looked in the direction of where the voice had come from. ChaosGallantmon appeared from just behind the suspension cables of Rainbow Bridge, floating into full view. "So easily distracted…" he added as he stared down at the DigiDestined menacingly.

"And you're a pathetic mega level Digimon…" another voice spoke up.

ChaosGallantmon froze, realising the comment had come from behind him. He quickly turned around, and came face to face with BlackWarGreymon.

"So easily tricked…. Black Tornado!" BlackWarGreymon mocked before he launched his attack…

Down on the bay at the back of the castle, the ice began to crack before it split open and Whamon broke through to the surface. He looked up at the jagged rocks that towered above him that reached all the way up to the courtyard wall. The wall itself was quite tall and looked strong. Whamon studied it for a moment before he swam back a little, breaking more of the ice as he did. He then lowered his head, positioning himself just right so his blowhole was aiming for the wall. Once he had his aim; he fired a strong blast of water.

On the opposite side of the wall there were a few Mekanorimon X and Guardromon X patrolling the courtyard. As one Mekanorimon X marched along the side of the wall, part of it suddenly erupted as the water blasted its way through; knocking Mekanorimon X to the ground and showering him in water and pieces of stone. "I-Intruders!" Mekanorimon X stuttered a little as the water caused him to malfunction a little.

The rest of the Mekanorimon X and Guardromon X were now alerted as another blast of water tore through another section of the wall. All of them turned in the same direction so they were facing the wall. They waited, preparing their weapons for the intruder to show its face. But they were met with another blast of water, followed by another until part of the wall in the middle collapsed in on itself.

"Grenade Destroyer!" one of the Guardromon X tried to attack the water by firing missiles from the launchers on his forearms. But they were washed up by the powerful blast, which then took out Guardromon X as well.

It wasn't long before ShadowSeraphimon emerged from within the castle to see what the commotion was about. He came to a stop when he saw the X Digimon attacking each time a blast of water came crashing through the wall, with some of the machine Digimon lying on the ground malfunctioning due to the water getting into the circuits. "What's going on here?" he demanded as he walked out onto the courtyard. He paused by a Mekanorimon X who was lying on his back.

"I-I-Intruders!" the machine Digimon spluttered out as a few sparks ignited across his body.

ShadowSeraphimon growled and rose up into the air, just missing another wave of water. He floated up, higher than the now half destroyed wall and looked down below to the bottom of the rocks. His eyes narrowed. "You…" he grunted as his eyes fell upon Whamon, who had now stopped firing his water. "Didn't we take care of you back in the Digital World?"

Whamon didn't respond. Instead he quickly turned his body around and dove back under the water.

"Oh no you don't," ShadowSeraphimon muttered as he watched Whamon's shadow under the ice swim away from the castle. "You're not getting away again." He began pursuit, swooping down nearer to the ice. He followed the large shadow as he flew further and further away from the battery island.

When they were a good distance away from the island, Whamon came to a stop. He turned around again and broke through the ice so he was now facing the mega Digimon who was fast approaching.

ShadowSeraphimon slowed his speed and came to a stop when he saw the large Digimon reappear. "I don't know what your purpose is here but you should have learned from the first time we encountered each other not to mess with us…" he paused, waiting for a response from Whamon, who just stared back at him. "Very well, if you haven't anything to say I will get this over with-" he then paused when he saw JewelBeemon and MegaKabuterimon arrive with Izzy, Jonathon, Davis, Ken and Meramon standing on the latter's back. "So that's your purpose… aiding the DigiDestined huh? Well, I'm afraid there is a penalty for helping these humans." He said before he flew down, preparing a large sphere of energy in his hands…

Whamon continued to remain still, just looking up at the mega Digimon charging down towards him…. But just at the right time before ShadowSeraphimon could attack, he opened his mouth wide; revealing Imperialdramon who had been curled up hiding inside.

"Surprise!" Imperialdramon exclaimed as he jumped out and immediately fired his Positron Laser. The attack struck the member of the Nightmare Six head on, knocking him back.

At the front of the castle, Craniamon appeared around the corner as he carried out his patrol. He immediately came to a stop upon noticing the two Boltmon X weren't guarding the main doors as they had been since their arrival. He cautiously walked up to the entrance of the castle, looking around. There was no sign of the two guards anywhere. He looked down at the ground, and he saw footprints in the dirt. The footprints were different shapes and sizes and led down towards the bridge. He chuckled to himself as he followed them to the edge of the island where they stopped either side of the bridge. He smiled to himself as he raised his Duo Solar Spear, and as quick as a flash he swung it down and sliced it through the bridge with ease.

The bridge instantly collapsed, crumbling away into pieces that hit the frozen bay below, emitting a dust cloud up into the air.

Once the dust had cleared Craniamon looked down to see Matt, Fernanda, Margaret and Andromon huddled together with the rubble surrounding them. "Well, well what do we have here?" he chuckled as the bearer of Friendship glared up at him. "You should have found a better hiding place…" he said as he raised his spear. He was about to swing it down when Zudomon suddenly appeared behind him and raised his hammer. Craniamon sensed he was there, and instead of swinging his spear downwards; he spun his whole body around and swiped his spear across knocking the hammer out of Zudomon's hand. Craniamon chuckled again. "Nice try…" he mocked before he swung his spear and knocked Zudomon away with ease.

Kazemon came in from the side and prepared to unleash a flying kick…

But Craniamon spun round in her direction and stretched his arm forward, firing a sphere of energy from the palm of his hand, blasting Kazemon out of the air.

"Lightning Blade!" Andromon swung his arm releasing a blade of energy, but the mega Digimon easily sliced through it with his spear.

"Metal Wolf Claw!"

Craniamon turned and looked up, seeing a wave of missiles homing down on him from where MetalGarurumon had been perched on the roof of the castle just above the main doors. He raised his spear, shielding his head as the missiles exploded around him…

Myotismon chuckled as he heard the sounds of faint explosions from outside. "It sounds as if your friends are locked in battle with my Nightmare Six." He said. "If you think your chances of defeating me are greater whilst your friends have them distracted you're wrong."

"You can't hide behind them forever." Tai warned. "We'll destroy them, just like we destroyed Dianamon… and then it's your turn."

"You may have been lucky enough to defeat Dianamon but I'm afraid the rest of the Nightmare Six will prove too strong for your friends, especially without Omnimon as you two are now trapped in here..." Myotismon replied confidently as he began to make his way over to where Dawn was still being held by SkullMeramon X. "I must say it feels good to finally have the advantage in my favour," he added as he came to a stop near her, causing her to back up a few steps. "When ShadowSeraphimon brought your daughter to me I knew I could use her to gain the upper hand. I knew you would do absolutely anything to try and rescue her… and here you are; you walked right into my lair."

Tai glared and clenched his fists, feeling a little edgy at how close the vampire Digimon was to his daughter.

"And now you've placed yourself in a tricky situation," Myotismon continued. "I have full control right now. No matter how long your friends can hold out against the Nightmare Six, you can't touch me whilst I have your daughter and friends trapped here."

"If you think kidnapping my family will make us give up and surrender to you; you're wrong. In fact it's made me all the more determined to destroy you." Tai shot back calmly.

"Yeah, we've destroyed you twice before so we can do it all over again!" Agumon added.

Myotismon laughed. "You can keep hanging onto that little bit of hope all you want. You may have destroyed me twice before but you have no idea who you are dealing with now. There is a lot you don't know about me thanks to a certain ally of yours, but now the time has come for you to learn how much power I truly possess."

Agumon growled, glaring at the vampire Digimon fiercely. "You may have gained some strength from stealing those Spirit Stones but you're not as powerful as you think you are!"

"Believe me; I am. Once I return to my former glory my power will eclipse that of what those pathetic Spirit Stones gave me, and then DigiDestined; your time will finally be up."

Stacey pulled herself up and crouched down on the ledge of one of the ground floor windows. She peered inside checking the passageway was empty before she jumped down. Wizardmon and Frigimon followed, with the icy Digimon managing to just squeeze through the gap. As Frigimon fell to the floor in a heap, the sound of heavy footsteps could be heard approaching. Stacey turned in the direction the footsteps were coming from. "Perfect timing." She said.

Frigimon scrambled to his feet and hurried off down the passageway, taking his position around the corner out of sight just in time before AxeKnightmon appeared from around the corner of the opposite end.

The mega Digimon immediately stopped when he noticed Stacey and Wizardmon standing further down the passageway.

"Oh no…. Wizardmon, we've been caught out." Stacey said sarcastically, and loudly.

AxeKnightmon's eyes narrowed as he glared at the two intruders. "How did you get in here?" he demanded, grasping his Twin Spear in both hands.

"Quite easily actually," Wizardmon replied before he pointed his staff at the window. "We climbed in through the window. You know, Myotismon should really tighten his security and maybe put some bars on these windows if he doesn't like unwanted guests."

AxeKnightmon growled. "You fool. I'll show you what happens to unwanted guests," he threatened before he charged.

Stacey and Wizardmon quickly turned and began to run down the passageway. Stacey could feel the stone floor shudder under the heavy feet of the mega Digimon as he stormed after them. Once they reached the end, they darted around the corner out of sight, and at the same time Frigimon jumped out into view.

"Sub Zero Ice Punch!" Frigimon slammed his fist into the floor and in a split second it was covered in a layer of thick ice. He quickly jumped back out of the way as AxeKnightmon's foot touched down on the icy surface.

The dark knight Digimon screamed as he slipped, falling onto his back. The momentum carried him forward, and there was no stopping as he approached the corner of the passageway. He crashed through the stone wall and fell down onto the frozen bay where ZeedGarurumon, Aquilamon and Hippogriffomon were waiting…

"Zeed Cannon!" ZeedGarurumon fired a blast from the cannon on his back…

"Blast Rings!" Aquilamon roared, firing off ring shaped beams…

"Heat Wave!" Hippogriffomon unleashed his high temperature wind…

Each attack hit AxeKnightmon almost simultaneously, shrouding him in a cloud of smoke.

Stacey appeared by the hole in the wall with Wizardmon and Frigimon. She smiled as she saw the smouldering aftermath of their attack on the ice below. But her smile quickly faded as the smoke cleared; revealing AxeKnightmon standing up with only a few scratches on him. Yolei and MJ, who were sitting on their partners' backs, gasped.

"You chose the wrong Digimon to play your silly little game with," AxeKnightmon growled. "I do not like to be made a fool of… Twin Spear!" He leapt up into the air and took out ZeedGarurumon with a swipe of his spear. He then spun round and soared towards Aquilamon and Hippogriffomon who were hovering close to each other. Again, with two swings of his spear he knocked them both out of the air…

At the opposite side of the castle Tactimon was carrying out his patrol. He was walking along the high wall that looked over the edge of the island and out to the end of Rainbow Bridge. He paused for a brief moment; watching the headlights of the odd car crossing the bridge. He then looked down at the frozen bay, and seeing there was no one around he huffed and continued on his way. He glanced up at the sky seeing the sun had begun to appear in the horizon as morning broke.

As he neared the end of the wall, a small pink bomb was thrown over the edge and landed on the ground just behind him. "Huh?" Tactimon stopped and turned around after hearing the noise of something drop behind. He looked down just before the bomb exploded, filling the air with thick pink smoke. The mega level Digimon coughed as he tried to clear the air.

"Flower Cannon!"

"Lila Shower!"

"Pummel Whack!"

Through the smoke Tactimon was hit three times; the first in the back, the second from the front and the third on the back of the head. He spun round to try and make out his attackers but the pink smoke was still too thick.

"Pixi Bomb!" Another attack came from the side, exploding upon hitting his shoulder, almost causing him to drop his sword of storms.

"Howling Crusher!" the last attack was the most powerful, and almost caused him to lose his balance as he was slashed across his chest by some very sharp claws.

Tactimon growled as he quickly recovered. He continued to look around but could see nothing in front of him except for the smoke. Frustrated, he slammed his Sword of Stones into the ground and unleashed a powerful shockwave which blew the pink smoke away. Once the smoke had cleared, he saw he was surrounded by SaberLeomon, Ogremon, Lillymon, Lilamon and Piximon.

Mimi and Tricia were standing at the very end of the wall, watching from afar.

"Clever trick…" Tactimon chuckled, casting a glance over to where Piximon was hovering in the air. "But I'm afraid it's going to take a lot more than a lion, an ogre and the fairy squad to stop me."

"We'll just see about that…" SaberLeomon threatened before he lunged at him. He roared as he tackled the demon man Digimon to the ground, pouncing on top of him. He raised his right paw, preparing to slice him with his claws, but Tactimon managed to raise his sword in front of his face blocking the attack.

Tactimon grunted as he pushed his sword away from his body, throwing SaberLeomon off him before he got back up to his feet.

"Bone Cudgel!"

The mega level Digimon stumbled forward a little as he was struck from behind by Ogremon's bone club. He huffed a little under his breath before he spun his body around, swinging his sword at the same time. He hit Ogremon with full force and sent the champion level Digimon flying backwards, crashing into Lillymon who had been coming towards them about to attack.

"Marvel Shot!" Lilamon opened up the flowers on both her arms and fired a round of energy spheres. They hit Tactimon on the back, but they didn't faze him. She was then taken out by a single shot fired from his sword of storms.

SaberLeomon growled as he charged again…

Tactimon turned to face him head on. He held his sword in both hands and pointed it directly at the lion Digimon before he fired a powerful blast of dark energy.

"SaberLeomon, watch out!" Mimi shrieked in horror.

SaberLeomon gasped as he saw the attack thundering straight for him. He skidded to a halt and quickly leapt out of the way, missing the attack by inches. The blast carried on until it struck the side of the castle, exploding on impact...

The main room of the castle shook as the explosion erupted outside. The wall behind SkullMeramon X, Dawn and Agumon shuddered and cracked, with a few chunks of stone coming loose and falling down around them.

Myotismon watched the rubble fall, which almost hit Dawn before he turned his attention back to Tai and Agumon. "It sounds like things are heating up out there… It must be awful to know your friends are out there fighting and you're stuck in here unable to do a thing about it."

Tai continued to glare at the vampire Digimon. "Just explain something to me… What's your deal with the Nightmare Six? Why are Digimon as powerful as they are obeying someone like you? They don't seem like the kind of Digimon who would take orders off someone weaker. If they are as strong as you say they are then you wouldn't stand a chance against them."

"You're not the only ones with allies in the Digital World." Myotismon replied.

Dawn looked over to her father. She'd never seem him this powerless before. He couldn't do anything to help them, or the others outside. She knew he and Agumon couldn't attack Myotismon whilst SkullMeramon X was here holding onto her. She needed to free herself somehow... The room then shuddered again as another attack from outside hit the castle. Dawn flinched as a few more pieces of small rubble fell down around her. She looked up and saw the cracks in the wall had spread onto the ceiling where a few of the pieces had fallen from. There was then another blast against the castle, and a large chunk of stone came a little loose from the ceiling. It was above in between Dawn and SkullMeramon X and threatened to fall at any moment.

An idea then struck her. She looked from the ceiling and quickly glanced at the X Digimon who was watching her father. She then looked back up just as the room shook again, and the piece of stone came loose… Dawn quickly pulled hard on the chains around her wrists, catching SkullMeramon X by surprise and causing him to stumble forward towards her. The large chunk of stone came smashing down right on the back of his head. The force and shock of the hit knocked him to the ground, falling face first. He lost the grip and control he had on the chains, which then fell limp around Dawn and Agumon's wrists.

Myotismon quickly turned his head and his eyes widened as he saw the chains fall to the ground; thus freeing Dawn and Agumon and severing the hold he currently had on Tai. "No!" he exclaimed.

Agumon gasped as he watched Myotismon throw his cape back, and thinking he was about to unleash his Crimson Lightning attack on Dawn and her partner, he quickly fired his fireball attack. "Pepper Breath!" Although he didn't aim it specifically, the attack burned Myotismon's wrist causing him to drop the chest.

"AGUMON WARP DIGIVOLVE TO… WARGREYMON!"

WarGreymon immediately charged; tackling Myotismon and slamming him into his coffin and the wall, causing the wood from the coffin to shatter everywhere.

SkullMeramon X groaned as he moved a little. Dawn looked down and slowly began to back away as the X Digimon began to push himself up off the ground, still a little dazed from the blow to the head. The realization hit her that she didn't have her Digivice...

"Dawn!"

Dawn looked over to where her father had been standing, and her face lit up when she saw he was holding her D-Power. She grinned as Tai threw it to her, and she stretched forward and easily caught it in one hand.

SkullMeramon X was now back on his feet. He swayed a little before he regained his focus and his eyes fell upon the Kamiya girl. He growled as he raised his chain in his right hand, preparing to strike her. But he paused for a brief moment as Dawn turned around to face him; having already placed her Digital Ring inside her D-Watch…

"AGUMON WARP DIGIVOLVE TO… VICTORYGREYMON!"

SkullMeramon X blinked in surprise as the small Agumon suddenly transformed in size right next to him, and as quick as a flash the now mega level Digimon swung his giant sword, slicing through the X Digimon's body like a hot knife through butter. SkullMeramon X wailed in pain as he disintegrated from the middle outwards. VictoryGreymon then jumped up and glided through the air, firstly freeing the others from their cages. With four quick swipes of his sword, he broke each lock and door allowing TK, Kari, Cody and Dan to escape.

"No!" Myotismon shouted.

WarGreymon raised his right hand, preparing to thrust his claws into Myotismon as he kept him pinned to the wall with his left hand. But before he did, he happened to glance down and caught the sight of something attached to the vampire Digimon's belt. WarGreymon's eyes widened a little as he froze for a second.

A second was all Myotismon needed, and he took advantage of mega Digimon's hesitation. He dealt a swift punch to WarGreymon's face, causing him to stumble back. Now free he quickly formed his attack. "Crimson Lightning!"

WarGreymon jumped back, just missing the stream of dark red energy as it was flung at him. He skidded to a halt just in front of Tai as the others joined him. "Tai, he's got a key attached to his belt… I hope I'm wrong but I have a really bad feeling it's the key to that chest…"

"What? That's impossible. The key was destroyed on that island..." Tai replied. He looked over to see Myotismon was smiling, which soon turned into a sly chuckle.

"Did you really think the key had been destroyed? You were so quick to leave that island you failed to notice the key had been there all along." Myotismon then pushed his cape back a little, revealing the key attached to his belt. "This is why you brought the chest to me so willingly. You knew it couldn't be opened without the key, and you thought you could trick me by making me believe you were giving me what I wanted and using my demand to your own advantage?" he laughed. "Nice try, but I was one step ahead of you this whole time. Now you have simply sealed everyone of your friends' fate." He extended his arm outwards so the palm of his hand was directed at the chest, and using his telepathic ability he began to bring the chest towards him.

"VictoryGreymon, stop him!" Dawn ordered.

VictoryGreymon split his sword in two and equipped both pieces to his arm. "Trident Gaia!" the tip of the sword began to glow before he fired a powerful blast of energy from it.

The blast struck Myotismon's shoulder, breaking his concentration from the chest which then fell back to the ground. He hissed in pain as he held his shoulder with his other hand. He glared at VictoryGreymon, but out of the corner of his eye he could see Gatomon running towards him…

"Lightning Claw!"

Before Gatomon had chance to unleash her punch, Myotismon stretched his arm out and easily grabbed her. "You little traitor!" he spat as he threw the champion Digimon aside.

"Gatomon!" Kari cried out.

Gatomon was thrown into a small table that was next to the candlestick stand. On top of it was Wisemon's book, which lay open. The table was destroyed as Gatomon crashed into it and she collapsed in a heap on top of the book. "Huh?" She slowly pushed herself up and looked down at the open pages in front of her. The pages were full of Digi Code but there was something on the left hand page that caught her attention. She quickly glanced over her shoulder to make sure Myotismon wasn't looking before she tore the page out and scurried away.

Once she had left, a couple of the pages turned over…

"Our Digimon are too weak to digivolve Tai," TK said, holding Patamon in his arms as he watched the battle continue. "We won't be much help I'm affraid."

"Veemon can still help!" Dan spoke up. "The Digital Ring will give him the boost he needs to digivolve… you ready buddy?" he asked, to which his partner replied with a confident nod. Dan quickly released the ring from his D-Power and placed it inside his D-Watch.

"VEEMON DOUBLE DIGIVOLVE TO… CYBERDRAMON!"

WarGreymon soared across the room and tackled Myotismon again. He carried him all the way across to the other side and slammed him into the wall as VictoryGreymon followed, raising his sword high above his head. WarGreymon let go of Myotismon and leapt back as VictoryGreymon swung his sword down.

Myotismon gasped and quickly jumped out of the way, skidding to a halt a safe distance away as VictoryGreymon's sword came thundering down; striking the ground. He didn't have time to counter attack, as Cyberdramon came flying in.

"Desolation Claw!" Cyberdramon unleashed his signature attack; releasing a large energy wave from his right arm. The wave grew in size as it built up speed and engulfed Myotismon, throwing him back as it caught him off guard.

Myotismon sat up; angry he had been caught out by a weaker Digimon. "Crimson Lightning!" from his position on the ground, he quickly formed his stream of energy and flung it up at Cyberdramon. The attack struck him, knocking him out of the air.

VictoryGreymon came charging in once more wielding his sword. He swung it down, only for Myotismon to dodge it again. He kept swinging it again and again, forcing the vampire Digimon further back into the corner of the room, but with one swipe he managed to catch the side of Myotismon's body.

Myotismon flinched in pain before he snarled in frustration. He pulled both sides of his cape around his body and up over his face. "You're wasting your strength… Grizzly Wing!" he flung his cape open and released his swarm of bats.

"Trident Gaia!" VictoryGreymon fired a beam of energy from the tip of his sword, incinerating the Grizzly Wing attack in the process.

The attack thundered straight for Myotismon. He shielded himself with his cape just in time before it exploded around him, destroying part of the castle wall. The blast wave from the explosion filled the room, causing the DigiDestined to flinch. It also blew the chest across the room, further away from Myotismon. Once the smoke had cleared, Myotismon flung his cape back. "You can't stop me. We can play this game all day, but once I open that chest there will only be one winner, and I-" he stopped midsentence when he placed his hand on his belt to take the key, only to find it was no longer there. Flinging his cape back he looked down to see the key had indeed disappeared and all that was there was a tear in his clothes where VictoryGreymon's sword had struck him moments ago. Myotismon immediately looked at VictoryGreymon, who simply teased him by motioning to his sword.

"He's lost the key!" Dan exclaimed quietly, glancing at his best friend.

Dawn looked around nearby, but couldn't see it anywhere. "He must have lost it when VictoryGreymon's Trident Gaia hit…" she thought aloud.

"Now's our chance WarGreymon!" Tai called up to his partner. "Finish him off!"

WarGreymon nodded in agreement before turning back to face the vampire Digimon, who looked up at him in a bit of a panic. "Terra Force!" he formed his large sphere of energy in the palm of his hands…

"Trident Gaia!" VictoryGreymon charged up his sword again and fired another almighty blast…

"Desolation Claw!" Cyberdramon swung his arms outwards, releasing two energy waves…

Myotismon backed up as all three attacks homed in on him. Again, he threw his cape over his body in an attempt to shield himself but the attacks merged together were too powerful and hit him with full force. He screamed as he was thrown back. He hit the ground, a little battered and bruised, and with his cape torn in places. The smoke from the attacks soon cleared and he looked up to see WarGreymon, VictoryGreymon and Cyberdramon hovering above him. He glanced past them to where the DigiDestined were standing, and noticed the chest had also disappeared from where it had been laying earlier…

"It's over Myotismon," Tai said boldly, standing at the front of the group with Dawn just behind him. "Your plan's backfired."

The worry in Myotismon's eyes disappeared, and his expression relaxed. He scoffed a laugh, and began to chuckle amusingly to himself as he slowly rose to his feet. "Actually, I think you'll find it's only just begun…"

Tai, as well as the others, looked confused as the vampire Digimon straightened his stance and seemed to be looking beyond them. Cautiously the DigiDestined parted and looked behind them, and to their horror they saw Wisemon floating in midair, levitating both the chest and key in each hand.

"The time has come, my lord." Wisemon spoke softly. Before any of the DigiDestined could stop him, he took hold of the key and placed it inside the lock. The sound of the 'click' of the lock opening could be heard clearly through the tense silence. The lid of the chest opened, and a small, dark fragment of data emerged from inside floating up into the air. Wisemon let his telepathic hold of the chest go and it fell to the ground, before he took control of the data fragment.

"No-" Tai exclaimed, but in a flash Wisemon used his power to propel it across the room, past the DigiDestined, and into Myotismon.

Myotismon's body tensed up as the data fragment forced its way inside his chest. His whole body was left paralyzed as a dark red aura surrounded him and he was lifted up a few feet from the ground. Dark sparks ignited as the aura expanded around him, casing him in an oval shape. The DigiDestined watched in horror as his body turned black and all they could see was his silhouette, which then slowly began to change…

His laughter echoed throughout the room as his body grew larger, specifically the bottom half as his long human like legs expanded and transformed into four beast like legs. His cape shrunk and split in half before transforming into a set of wings, whilst his hair grew longer and his mask changed shape…

Dawn slowly backed up a few steps, pressing her back against her father who then held onto her tightly. "Dad… what's happening?" she asked, a little timidly.

The aura continued to expand as the transformation neared its completion. The silhouette now encased inside the aura was completely different from Myotismon's, and far more terrifying. Suddenly the dark aura exploded, sending a shockwave throughout the entire the room. The force threw the DigiDestined and their Digimon back, and they all fell to the ground…

Outside, when the aura had exploded, the dark red light from the shockwave had escaped through the windows of the castle. It had caught the attention of each member of the Nightmare Six in the surrounding area, who stopped what they were doing and turned to face the castle.

Izzy, who was now standing on the ice with Jonathon, Davis and Ken, caught a glimpse of the red light. "What was that?" he thought aloud a little worriedly as ShadowSeraphimon turned his attention away from them.

Around by the front of the castle, Craniamon swung his spear swatting away Andromon who had charged at him, before he paused and turned to look behind him at the castle doors. "Our lord…. He has returned…"

Tai cringed as he pushed himself up once the shockwave had subsided. He held his arm that had previously been in the support sling, having landed on it a little awkwardly. He looked down to see Dawn curled up underneath him unharmed. He slowly moved himself off her and a little hesitantly he turned to look where Myotismon had been standing…

Dawn pushed herself up into a seated position. But when she saw who was now standing in Myotismon's place she scrambled back a little in alarm. "W-who is that?" she gawped.

"Has he… digivolved?" Cody gasped in disbelief.

Wisemon smiled contently. He floated past the DigiDestined, who watched him approach the demon beast Digimon who he had not seen in years. He then bowed.

"Welcome back, Lord Grandracmon."

To be continued…
