Hi guys. I hope everyone has been keeping safe and well this year through the pandemic.
I forgot to mention when I posted the last chapter that there will be a lot of things happening, so I've decided to sort of dedicate each chapter to different parts so it doesn't get too overwhelming. So although each part is being posted one after the other it's all happening at the same time (hope that makes sense!) If I can fit in other bits into a chapter I will, but I didn't want to be switching back and fourth every scene.
Greymon Leader Batx flashpoint: I always remember watching digimon on citv for the first time. I didn't have sky back then so I couldn't watch it on fox kids. I've seen screenshots of the reboot and it's looking pretty good.
Sweet Cari: Thank you :)
Sync The Dragon Tempest: Sorry it's been a long wait to find out!
Dracofighter: No problem. Thanks, I always try and imagine what the action scenes would be like if it was on TV to try and make it as realistic as I can
DinoGuy2000: Thanks :)
Yuki Taichi: Aw thank you. It's nice to hear people are still liking my stuff after all these years :)
Sweet-SnarklingFool: Anything could happen XD
Anilee: I keep meaning to post a drawing to show what Matt's ex-wife looks like. A reboot does sound interesting but it's taken me so many years working on this and I haven't finished it yet XD
pokestarwarrior2: I'm still deciding on that one (I don't want to give anything away!) :)
TristPHT: I'm doing well thanks. I hope you're okay too! Dawn having two partners would be awesome, but I didn't really have any plans for anyone else to have two partners. The digivolution lines for Willis' kids sound cool though!
Thanks again to everyone else who commented, faved etc. Although I don't reply to all reviews I do read them. They are much appreciated :)
Digimon 2.5
Episode 58: "Never Judge a Book By It's Cover"
.:No. 6 Battery Island, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
Wisemon watched from the only window in the castle's tower as Grandracmon and Daemon continued to fight it out. Since Daemon's transformation into his beast mode the battle had gone up another gear, which had started to show physically on both mega Digimon. Wisemon flinched slightly as he witnessed his master take another powerful blow from Daemon. "If the DigiDestined somehow reach his castle in the Dark Area he may not survive against Daemon…" he admitted to himself. He turned his attention away from the window and floated over to where his book lay open on the stone floor in the middle of the room. "I must do something to help." With a flick of his wrist he caused a made of the pages to turn over. He then closed his eyes and pointed his palm down at the left hand page. Focusing his energy, the page soon began to turn dark and a small window appeared, showing a dark dreary forest. Wisemon opened his eyes and waited…
Soon enough, in the window of the page, a small dark figure suddenly jumped into view. He seemed oblivious that he was being watched for a moment, until he suddenly stopped and turned in the direction of the window in the book. "Well, well… Long time, no see Wisemon… Didn't you know it's rude to spy on someone?" the figure smirked, although his features were hidden in the shadows from his location.
"I have more important things to do than to spend my time watching you. I would only track you down if it was for something important."
"I'm flattered… So, what do I owe the pleasure?"
"There are two humans in the Dark Area. They are on their way to Lord Grandracmon's castle. If they manage to make it there I fear my lord's time may be up."
"And what has that got to do with me?" the figure spoke in a slightly cocky attitude.
"May I remind you that you are treading on very thin ice after that little prank you pulled on Grandracmon. He may have been away from the Dark Area for many years but I assure you he has not forgotten. You were lucky he spared you. If you help us I might be able to persuade him to let that little stunt go."
The figure scoffed a laugh. "Geez that guy sure knows how to hold a grudge. It was just a little fun. I hope he's developed a sense of humour whilst he's been away-" he suddenly stopped when Wisemon gave him a disapproving glare. "Alright, alright… what is it you want?"
"I want you to stop those humans from reaching his castle." Wisemon simply instructed.
"What business would two humans want at Grandracmon's castle anyway? It'll be a miracle if they make it there in the first place. This place isn't exactly a walk through Primary Village."
"That is none of your concern. All you have to do is make sure they do not get there. I know what true dangers the Dark Area poses, and your help might not be required, but I don't want to take any chances. I'm sure you'll have some clever tricks up your sleeve you can use." Wisemon said.
The figure crossed his small arms. "Alright, if it'll get Grandracmon off my back. But I'm surprised with the level of ability you have Wisemon you aren't taking this on yourself. After all you he's your lord and master."
"I currently have some other business to attend to," Wisemon replied. He then ended the call by moving his hand, turning the page in his book. On the next page were live images of the children and their Digimon in their current locations within the castle…
"Magical Game!" Wizardmon fired a blast from his staff at the wall that was blocking the passageway, but it barely made a dent.
"V-Head Butt!" Veemon slammed his head into the stone in an attempt to break through, but the wall remained solid. They had been attempting to reach James, Fernanda and Katie on the other side, but the wall was proving a tough opponent.
"This is bad…" Margaret said, her voice quivering a little. "If Wisemon knows we are here and has the power to change the castle like this how are we going to reach him?"
"Yeah he could just manipulate the castle to his own advantage and have us going in circles." Gatomon added.
"Then let's just blast this place to pieces then he'll have nowhere to hide." Dan suggested boldly turning to face them.
Stacey scoffed a laugh and folded her arms. "Yeah great idea genius, that won't alert Grandracmon that we've snuck in here to take care of his creepy sidekick."
Dan frowned at the blonde haired girl, and was about to fire a remark back when suddenly the castle shuddered as another blast from either Grandracmon or Daemon hit. The children and Digimon waited anxiously for the tremors to stop as a couple of pieces of rubble from above fell down, barely missing Tricia and Palmon.
"The way they're fighting out there this castle might not last much longer anyway…" SnowAgumon commented.
"C'mon," Stacey instructed. "We're wasting time. The sooner we find Wisemon the sooner we can put a stop to his tricks."
"But what about the others?" Tricia asked.
"They'll have to take another route." The Ishida girl replied.
Dan was about to protest when suddenly Wisemon's voice echoed through the castle. "Did you really think you could sneak in here unnoticed DigiDestined?" he said, also catching the attention of MJ, and James, Katie and Fernanda. "It's very brave of you to come here and attempt to fight me, but you may have underestimated me…"
Veemon frowned before he tried to smash through the wall a couple more times with his V-Head Butt attack.
"I would save your strength," Wisemon's voice continued. "You're going to need it if you are to survive in here. You're free to come up to my tower and face me… that is if you can make it."
Dan clenched his fists defiantly. "You're on Wisemon. Challenge accepted."
Wisemon chuckled to himself as he had been watching them through his book. "I'll certainly make it an interesting one then," he humoured himself. He rose up a little more off the ground and crossed his legs. Floating in a seated position over his book, he stretched his arms out and summoned his two Time Stones, which appeared above both of his palms. He then drew them closer, and began to work his magic throughout the castle…
Armadillomon rebounded off the wall as he attempted to smash through with his Diamond Shell attack. He skidded back to a halt before curling into a ball and trying again.
"It's no use Armadillomon," Fernanda said with a sigh as she watched him bounce off the wall again. "It's not going to work."
"What if our Digimon digivolve and try and knock it down?" Katie suggested from beside her brother.
James shook his head. "Armadillomon's not even made a chip in the stone so I doubt digivolving is going to help... I think Wisemon's little plan is to tire us out before we reach him."
"So what do we do now?" Wormmon spoke up, resting on his partner's shoulder.
"We'll have to go back the way we came," James said flatly. "There must be another passageway that'll lead us to him."
Fernanda and Katie followed with their Digimon, and they headed back down the passageway. They soon arrived back at the steps that led back down into the main room of the castle. Hawkmon, who had been gliding along, dropped down onto the ground next to her partner as a ray of light shone in through one of the holes in the wall, lighting up the opposite corner of the room. "Look," she said pointing her wing. "There seems to be a narrow passage over there."
"C'mon, let's see where it leads." James instructed as he led them back down the steps.
The kids and their Digimon quickly made their way across the large open space, cutting directly across. As they reached about half way, they felt the ground beneath them suddenly jolt causing them to slow their pace.
"What was that?" Armadillomon questioned as they came to a gradual stop.
As they waited, James cautiously looked around. There was no sign of anyone or anything else in the room. Just as he was about to continued towards the passageway, the ground jolted again, this time causing Katie to yelp in surprise and latch onto her brother's arm.
Fernanda backed up a little closer to James and Katie as they all kept searching the room. She then turned her head, hearing what sounded like rubble moving… "Look!" she exclaimed.
Close to where the passageway was in the corner lay the pile of rubble they had all climbed over earlier to gain access into the castle. The rubble was moving slightly, seemingly on its own. Its movement became more rapid, and the rocks began to shift and form together. James, Fernanda and Katie watched in awe as the rocks merged together; taking on the stone form of a Gogmamon.
"Looks like Wisemon's not alone after all!" Hawkmon exclaimed as she moved in front of her partner.
The sound of more rubble moving could be heard from behind, and the kids and Digimon turned to see over in the opposite corner where another pile of debris lay, it too was beginning to take form of another Gogmamon. They continued to watch as more Gogmamon began to form from the rubble on the ground or in the stone walls.
All of the Gogmamon grunted and growled as they began to close in on the three DigiDestined…
On the first floor of the castle, Stacey was leading the others along the main passageway. Since they had been separated from James, Katie and Fernanda they had not experienced anymore attempts from Wisemon, but they were constantly keeping their guard as they knew he wouldn't keep quiet for long. As the group walked in silence Stacey had begun to doubt how useful she was turning out to be. The original passage they had been on when they had been separated should have led them to the spiral steps of the tower, but instead it had taken them up another set of steps and led them here. Perhaps Wisemon had changed the entire structure of the castle, which meant she could be leading them around in circles…
Dan glanced beside him, noticing Jonathon had been on his tablet for the last few minutes. "What are you doing?" he quizzed the Izumi boy. "You better not be playing solitaire."
Jonathon gave a quick frown at the Motomiya boy before he resumed what he was doing. "No. I'm trying to hack into the data of this castle." He replied. "If I can get into the data I can create a virtual blueprint of the castle which will then hopefully help us navigate through it."
"Sounds complicated... I didn't know you were into hacking. I'll remember that next time I need my school grades changing on the system." Dan humoured.
"I'm not a professional hacker… and I won't be risking my perfect school record for you." Jonathon shot back calmly. He then smiled as he work was complete and a virtual blueprint of the castle appeared on his screen. "It worked." He proclaimed. Using the touch screen he managed to manoeuvre the blueprint so they could either look at a 3D or 2D version. "Now all I need to do is input our digivice codes so I can keep track of each of our locations."
"Excellent work Jonathon." Wizardmon praised.
Stacey slowed her pace a little. "Are MJ and the others okay?" she asked.
"I'll be able to tell you in a second," Jonathon replied. "It'll just take a couple of moments for the programme to upload each code."
As the silence resumed, at the back of the group Margaret slowly stopped. "Uhh guys… what's that sound?" she asked quietly.
The rest of the group paused and turned to face the browned haired girl. As they listened, they could hear what sounded like stone blocks shifting. They looked past Margaret, who turned to look behind her, and they watched as slabs of stone from either side of the passageway had begun to slide out from the walls. The stones began to each morph into a circular shape before they hit the ground slowly rolling to a stop in the middle of the passageway. The kids watched on curiously as the four stone balls sprouted what looked like a fuse on top.
They then began to turn, and the kids now noticed each stone ball had a pair of eyes and a frowning mouth.
"Umm… what are those?" Margaret asked taking a step back.
"They look like Bombmons…" Gatomon answered.
Just then, the stone Bombmons' fuses suddenly lit up and began to burn as they narrowed their tiny eyes at the kids.
"I think we better run…" Stacey suggested as she turned and bolted down the passageway.
The rest of the group quickly followed as the Bombmon began to give chase, bouncing along. One of the Bombmon released its Firework Revolution attack, filling the passageway with particles of colours that scattered like fireworks. Stacey, still leading the group, ducked as a red particle whizzed past her head. She looked ahead to see they were approaching various other passageways linked to the one they were currently running down.
"We need to split up!" the Ishida girl shouted as she took the first passageway on the left, followed by her two Digimon.
"What?!" Dan exclaimed as he watched Stacey disappear off down the darker passage. He didn't have much time to think as a bright yellow particle flew above his head and exploded in front of him, causing him to take the second passage on the right. Jonathon had been right behind him and followed the younger boy with Tentomon and Veemon.
Margaret and Gatomon continued running on through the smoke of the exploded particle with Wizardmon following. He tried firing a couple of shots from his staff at the pursuing Digimon, but they easily bounced out of the way.
"Wait for me!" Tricia cried out as she tried to keep up with Palmon close behind her. Another particle exploded just behind Wizardmon, blocking their path. She stopped, hesitating for a moment as she tried to decide whom to follow.
One of the Bombmon released another Firework Revolution attack, scattering the particles all around Tricia and Palmon.
The nine year old girl screamed as her attempt to follow Dan and Jonathon was blocked by an exploding purple light. Seeing the Bombmon were almost on top of her she panicked and hurried down the only available passageway on the opposite side.
The Bombmon also split, each bouncing along in pursuit of the children.
Tricia and Palmon continued to run as fast as they could down the narrower passage. Tricia looked over her shoulder to see one Bombmon was still chasing them, bouncing off the walls. She looked ahead to see they were approaching the end of the passageway where that was a single wooden door. Tricia and Palmon both pushed it open and darted inside the room on the other side. They both slammed it shut behind them just as Bombmon lunged for them, his fuse almost gone…
In a split second before they had chance to move clear, there was an explosion, which destroyed the door. The force of the blast threw Tricia and Palmon across the room…
"Where are we going MJ?" Patamon asked, perched on top of her head.
"I have no idea…" MJ replied. Since being separated from the others they had walked in the only direction they could which was down the very narrow passageway they had been pushed into by the rotating wall. It was very dark, and the Takaishi girl was using the light from her digivice screen to help guide the way. She briefly paused as she thought she heard the faint sound of an explosion. "Did you hear that?" she asked.
"Hear what?" Patamon responded.
Dismissing it as the sound of Grandracmon and Daemon fighting outside, MJ shrugged it off. "Uh nothing," She then continued on her way. "It's a good job we don't suffer from claustrophobia Patamon…" she added with a small chuckle, trying to lighten the mood.
"What's claustrophobia?"
"It's a fear of confined spaces." MJ replied. She then shone the light from her digivice a little further ahead. "Hey Patamon, I think I see light at the end of the tunnel!" she broke out into a jog and hurried down the passage until they came to another dead end. To the left where the light was coming from above was an even narrower set of stone steps leading up. MJ aimed the light from her digivice upwards to try and see how far they went.
Patamon jumped off his partner's head and flew beside her. "Do we go up there?"
"We don't really have much choice Patamon. C'mon," MJ said as she began to climb the steps. Her footsteps against the stone echoed slightly as they made their way up. Upon reaching the top, they stepped out into another passageway; only this one was much wider. Along the two walls were rather chunky candles burning away filling the passage with much needed light. "Now this is much better." The blonde haired girl commented as she clipped her digivice back on her belt. "This could be one of the main passageways. It might lead us back to the others."
"Stacey said Wisemon could be up in one of the tallest towers of the castle so we should look for another stairway." Patamon said as they began to make their way along the passageway, to which MJ nodded in agreement.
As they began to pass the candles above them, one of the candle's flames flickered a little. A pair of small blue eyes and a devious smile appeared within the flame. The white wax part of the candle then sprouted a couple of arms, with its own pair of red eyes. The eyes soon latched on to MJ and Patamon. The candle quietly jumped down from the wall landing on the ground and began to follow them.
"Huh?" Patamon noticed the movement of light and turned to look behind him. Immediately noticing one of the candles was missing he looked down and gasped as the candle now had a glob of hot wax in his hand. "Look out!" Patamon exclaimed as he shoved a startled MJ out of the way, just missing being scolded by the wax, which then splattered on the ground after missing its intended target.
MJ, now with her back against the wall, looked down at their small attacker. "What is that?"
"Don't you remember MJ? It's Candlemon," Patamon replied, glaring down at the rookie Digimon.
Candlemon sniggered and prepared more globs of hot wax in each hand before he flung one at MJ and the other at Patamon. MJ yelped as she dodged it.
Patamon lowered his ears, letting the wax pass overhead. "Boom Bubble!" he unleashed his air shot attack which struck Candlemon's flame. The flame was blown out, causing Candlemon to suddenly burst into pieces of data…
"What a shame it was a kind of a cute Digimon..." MJ commented light heartedly. She then noticed out of the corner of her eye the light in the tunnel moving… Turning her head, she froze; her blue eyes widening in panic. "Uh Patamon…"
Patamon, still hovering in the air, turned around to see all the other candles had now transformed into Candlemon and were jumping down from the walls filling the entire length of the passageway and blocking their path. "I think I better digivolve MJ."
MJ nodded. "Right," she released her digital ring from her D-power and placed it inside her D-watch…
"PATAMON DOUBLE DIGIVOLVE TO… HIPPOGRIFFOMON!"
"Heat Wave!" Upon landing on the stone floor, Hippogriffomon unleashed his high temperature wind attack which engulfed the entire passage and melted all the Candlemon down until they were nothing but fragments of data. "Jump on," he then instructed his partner, motioning to his back. "We'll be able to find the others much quicker."
MJ smiled and climbed up onto her Digimon's back before he took off down the passage. Upon reaching the end he slid swiftly around the corner but was forced to skid to an abrupt stop, almost throwing the blonde haired girl from his back.
Facing them filling the long passage were more Candlemon…
"Oh great…" MJ groaned.
Hippogriffomon growled and prepared to unleash his Heat Wave attack once more, but the Candlemon all began to snigger and cluster together. Hippogriffomon paused for a moment, a little curious he watched as they began to climb on top of each other. It soon became clear what they were doing, as all of them began to morph into one huge Candlemon….
Tricia groaned a little as she slowly opened her eyes. Before picking herself up off the floor she took a moment to try and remember what had happened before she had apparently blacked out. Her vision was blurry at first, but as she lifted her head a little off the floor she could just make out the colour of pale pink… "Huh?" She slowly pushed herself up, and as her vision came into focus she was met with the sight of her own bedroom. "Palmon!" she shrieked in disbelief.
Palmon was lying next to her, and was woken by her sudden shriek. Just like Tricia it took her a moment for her vision to improve and be met with the pink and white colours of her partner's room. "What?" she exclaimed, sitting up.
"We're… we're home…" Tricia stuttered as she looked around. She slowly got to her feet, using her bed behind her for support. Her room was just how she had left it. Her dolls were on the floor over in the corner by the doll's house… the book she had been reading was still open on one of the cushions in the reading area by her window… The dress she had worn to the last birthday party she had attended was still draped over the chair by her dressing table. She walked over to the table and picked up her hairbrush. It felt so real… so real it started to cast doubts in the nine year olds mind as to what had been happening moments earlier. "Was this all a dream…?" she mumbled as she examined her brush.
Palmon rose to her feet, examining the room very carefully. "For both of us?" She too noted how everything was just how it had been left.
"How would Wisemon know what my room looks like?" Tricia questioned, still holding her hair brush. "Everything's here Palmon. Just as I left it."
Palmon, still a little sceptical, wandered over to the window and climbed up onto the white storage bench that was underneath. The cushions on top felt as soft as she remember as she stood up and leaned against the glass peering outside. There were people down below, going about their daily lives. The sun was just peering out over the taller apartment building opposite, like it did every morning. Perhaps they had woken from a dream…?
"Tricia!"
Tricia turned her attention to her bedroom door as she heard the faint voice of her mother. "Mom?" she whispered as she put the brush back down.
As Palmon continued to watch outside, a couple of birds flew by and perched themselves on the window ledge. As if a sudden case of déjà vu hit, Palmon remembered she had seen these two birds before. She had been standing at the window just as she was now watching as the birds nuzzled each other affectionately. She then looked down below and saw the familiar sight of a food vendor feeding a stray dog one of his hot dogs. This day had already happened… and it was if it was playing out all over again…
"Tricia! Breakfast's ready, come try my new omelette recipe!" Mimi's voice was heard again.
"Mom!" Tricia grinned as she bolted for her bedroom door.
"Tricia, wait!" Palmon exclaimed. She leapt down from the storage bench and chased after her partner.
Tricia reached her door and swung it open. For a brief second she was met with the sight of the rest of her apartment, but as she took the first step out of her bedroom she suddenly felt the uneasy feeling of the floor disappearing from under her feet. In a flash, the image of her apartment flickered and vanished and she suddenly found herself looking out across Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge. Tricia screamed as she felt herself falling, realising she had now walked through a trapdoor that lead out to a sheer drop outside the castle.
"Tricia!" Palmon cried as she lunged forward. Tricia's room faded from around her, replaced by the cold empty room that they had originally run into earlier. Palmon jumped out of the open door, stretching her vines out to catch her partner. Once she had successfully wrapped her vines around Tricia's midsection she quickly extended the vines on her left arm to grab hold of the castle's ledge, preventing both of them from falling.
Tricia gasped, staring down below as she dangled against the outside of the castle's wall. Down below was the edge of the battery island and the gentle crashing waves of the water.
Suddenly, the piece of stone that Palmon had held of cracked and came loose. Both of them screamed as they fell down, just missing the edge of the island and disappearing underneath the water. After a few moments, Lilamon burst out from under the water, holding Tricia under her arm.
Tricia wrapped her arms around Lilamon's waist hugging her tightly. "That was strange…"
Dan almost skidded around the corner before running as fast as he could down the straight passage they now found themselves on. Jonathon soon followed with their Digimon, clutching his tablet in his right hand. They had been concentrating on running as fast as they could they had forgotten the sound of Bombmon bouncing off the stone walls could no longer be heard.
Tentomon was the first to realise, and glanced behind him as he flew just behind his partner. "I think we have lost him,"
Jonathon turned his head for a quick glance before he slowed his pace, eventually stopping. "You sure?" he asked, breathing a little heavily. He listened for a moment, and the silence that followed reassured him they were no longer being chased.
"Either that or he exploded somewhere back there." Veemon added, who had also now stopped running along with Dan.
"Tell me why we were running again?" the Motomiya boy said, slightly out of breath. "We could have easily taken those Digimon on."
Jonathon took a few steps towards Dan, now resuming interest in his tablet. "I guess we need to be at full strength when we reach Wisemon. Our Digimon can't waste their strength trying to defend against his tricks, which is probably his plan."
"You're a soccer player you should be used to running." Tentomon added as he continued to hover beside his partner.
"That's different," Dan protested. "On the soccer field I'm not running away from bouncing exploding Digimon!"
Veemon looked from his partner over to Jonathon. "So where do we go now? Do we head back the way we came?"
Jonathon brought up the 3D blueprint of the castle on his screen. "Actually, there are some steps just a little bit further down this passageway. It'll bring us closer to the tower. It looks like Stacey is already heading in that direction." Using the touch screen he drew a line marking out their route. "If we hurry we can catch up with her."
"What about the others?" Dan asked as they set off walking. "You're the only one with the map. How will they know which way to go?"
"I'm already working on that," Jonathon replied as he began to swipe and tap away at his screen. "Leave it to me. If this works I'll be able to send them a direct route to their digivices… sort of like a car's navigation system."
"So it'll lead them where they need to go?" the Motomiya boy asked curiously, to which Jonathon nodded in response.
"This castle is really complex and compact with passageways on every level…" the black haired boy thought aloud as continued to work. "It's like a maze. It really is quite deceiving from the outside."
The two boys soon reached the stairway, which was made from uneven slabs of stone. "Man, how far up do these steps go?" Dan exclaimed as they stared up into the darkness. "I can't even see the top."
"You know, for someone who loves sports you do complain a lot about physical activities." Jonathon remarked, to which the Motomiya boy shot him a look. The boys and their partners began their climb of the stairway, with Jonathon leading the way. "According to the map it should lead us up the east side of the building."
After a few moments of climbing, the castle suddenly shuddered as another stray blast from the battle outside hit. A loose piece of stone fell from above, just missing Veemon causing him to flinch. The rookie Digimon watched as it hit the edge of one of the steps and ricocheted off down the rest.
Veemon then froze with a look of disbelief on his face. "U-uh Dan…" he stuttered a little, stretching his hand out and pulling on Dan's blue jumper.
"Huh?" Feeling Veemon tug on his jumper, Dan turned to look behind and his face immediately fell. "You've gotta be kidding me…" he moaned.
"Now what are you grumbling abou-" Jonathon paused and turned to face the maroon haired boy. "Impossible…" he gasped under his breath. From all the climbing they had done, there were still only six steps between them and the bottom…
"I fear this may be another one of Wisemon's tricks." Tentomon said.
Suddenly, the steps all merged as one to create a steep slope catching the boys and Veemon off guard. They all screamed as they fell, sliding back down before crashing in a heap against the wall of the passageway. Veemon groaned as he slumped over his partner. "You think?" he grunted to Tentomon who simply glided back down in the air.
Dan groaned as he tried to push himself up from the bottom of the pile. "I hope the others are having better luck than we are…"
Gogmamon roared as he raised his large rock fist, swinging it down upon MetallifeKuwagamon who shielded himself using the strong armour on his arm. The fist ricocheted off, and MetallifeKuwagamon fired a blast from the gun points on his fingertips, knocking Gogmamon back.
"MetallifeKuwagamon, behind you!" James suddenly shouted as he spotted another Gogmamon approaching.
MetallifeKuwagamon quickly turned around and fired two powerful blasts from his fingertips, blowing the approaching Gogmamon to pieces.
Zudomon swung his hammer, knocking one of the Gogmamon to the ground. He then raised his hammer and pounded it as hard as he could, breaking Gogmamon's body apart.
"Are these not real Digimon?" Fernanda wondered aloud.
"I don't think so," James replied. "They look like they're made of stone."
"Real Gogmamon don't look like this…" MetallifeKuwagamon commented as he blasted another to pieces. "This is probably one of Wisemon's tricks to keep us distracted." He then leapt up into the air, dodging another Gogmamon who attempted to take a swipe at him.
"Fire Jewels!" Crowmon shot fireballs from the weapons on her wings. They all hit the Gogmamon she was fighting in different parts of his body, but they didn't do much damage except chip away at his stone form. Gogmamon grunted and swung his fist, swatting Crowmon away like a fly. She was thrown across the room, crashing into a pile of rubble.
"Crowmon!" Katie cried out. She attempted to run to her partner but her brother held her back. She then gasped as she realised she had attracted the attention of the stone Digimon.
Gogmamon growled and stomped his way over to where the three DigiDestined were. "Giant Grater!"
"Look out!" James exclaimed as Gogmamon raised his fist, and the three kids scrambled out of the way just in time.
After slamming his fist down, it became lodged in the ground and Gogmamon grunted as he tried to free himself. Just as he managed to free his fist, he was side tackled by Crowmon who swooped across the room.
Crowmon pinned him against the wall. "Savage Emperor!" At point blank range she unleashed her signature attack, and being more powerful than her Fire Jewel attack, she was able to shatter the stone Gogmamon to pieces.
"Homing Laser!" MetallifeKuwagamon stretched his right arm out and fired a beam of energy from the gun points on his fingertips, taking out three Gogmamon in the process. One of the Gogmamon managed to move out of the way, dodging the laser beam, but MetallifeKuwagamon was able to alter the beam's path, and redirected it back around to catch Gogmamon off guard from behind, destroying him.
"Vulcan's Hammer!" Zudomon slammed his hammer into the ground, firing a bolt of electricity through it. The attack tore up the stone floor, taking out two more Gogmamon. As the attack exploded under the ground, the force of the blast sent the final Gogmamon crashing through the wall. He tumbled outside of the castle, and the momentum carried him over the edge of the battery island and down into the water below. With his body made entirely of stone, he sunk down into the depths of the bay…
.:Tokyo Bay, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
Grandracmon and Daemon continued to duel, throwing punches and kicks at each other above the water. Feeling his wings beginning to tire again, Grandracmon dropped back and landed on one of the other islands that were closer to the TV Station. He tried to control his breathing, not wanting Daemon to notice he was a little out of breath.
Daemon chuckled and fired a small blast of energy from the palm of his hand, purposely aiming it just in front of Grandracmon to tease him.
Grandracmon staggered back, before glaring up at the demon Digimon. He opened the two mouths on his waist preparing to attack, when he caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye. "Huh?" There was smoke rising up from the side of his castle…
Daemon took full advantage of Grandracmon's hesitance and swooped down right on top of him. "Slash Nail!" He slashed his claws on his giant left hand right across Grandracmon's face, knocking him to the ground just at the edge of the island. He then placed both of his palms outwards together and fired an almighty blast.
Grandracmon was thrown off the island. He fell into the shallow waters of the bay, and crashed into one of the small piers, leaving a trial of debris in his path. He quickly got back up, but before he had chance to inspect his castle again, Daemon tackled him carrying him up and over the sand and slamming him down into the middle of the road close by.
Daemon smiled, amusing himself as he continued to attack Grandracmon, not giving him chance to release a counter attack. He shoved, kicked and punched the beast Digimon further inland, tearing up the road in the process. He dropped down onto the ground in the middle of an intersection. "All I have to do is wait for the right moment, and victory is mine!" he swung his claws once more, but Grandracmon anticipated the attack and stretched his own arm out, grabbing Daemon's wrist.
Grandracmon rose to his feet, tightening his grip. "I wouldn't get too ahead of yourself," he then swung Daemon around by his wrist before letting him go, throwing him down another street. Before Daemon could recover, Grandracmon charged, galloping towards him. He tackled Daemon, grabbing him and lifting him up into the air before tearing through the pedestrian bridge of Odaiba train station that was above the road…
.:No 6. Battery Island, Odaiba, Tokyo:.
Stacey placed her right foot on the bottom step, looking up at the spiral stairway in front of her. They had managed to outrun the Bombmon that had been chasing them, and the tiny Digimon had self-destructed before he had chance to catch them. After that they had continued to run, which had eventually led them to the spiral stairway that they had been aiming for.
Gabumon peered out from behind his partner. "Shouldn't we wait for the others?" he suggested.
Stacey paused for a moment. Their original plan had gone wrong, and she felt a little uneasy at the thought of facing Wisemon alone. "… No," she replied. "We can't. We can't waste anymore time. It could take forever for the others to find us." She then began to climb the stairway, with Gabumon and SnowAgumon following.
As they made their way up the tower, they passed by the opening that led out onto a narrow bridge that connected to the other tower on the opposite side of the castle. They soon reached the top of the stairway, and in front of them was a wooden door to the only room in the tower. Stacey moved closer, peering through the gap as it was open a jar. There was no sign or sound of movement coming from inside, so Stacey slowly pushed it open. It creaked a little as she pushed it as far as it would go.
The room was empty, except for Wisemon's book levitating over on the other side of the circular room. It was open, but there was no sign of the mysterious Digimon.
SnowAgumon was the next to enter, appearing just behind the blonde haired girl. "There it is!" he exclaimed quietly as Gabumon joined them.
"Where is he?" Gabumon asked looking around.
Stacey slowly walked the short distance across the room to where the book was floating. It was levitating just about at her waist height. As she stopped directly in front of it, she looked down at the open pages; only to see they were blank. Releasing a sigh, she turned her back on the book and faced her two partners. "Okay, let's not waste anymore time. Digivolve and lets destroy this book before anything else happens." She commanded.
Gabumon and SnowAgumon both nodded, but before their partner could place her digital ring inside her D-Watch, one of the pages of the book turned and Wisemon slowly began to emerge out from inside. "Stacey, watch out!" Gabumon warned.
Stacey turned to see Wisemon was now looming over her. She gasped, taking a step back. She turned to run back over to where her Digimon were, but as she did Wisemon stretched out his right hand and grabbed her by the arm. In a split second before her partners could do anything, he disappeared back into his book; dragging the blonde haired girl inside with him.
"Stacey!" Both Gabumon and SnowAgumon shouted in unison.
"Heat Wave!" Hippogriffomon unleashed his high temperature wind attack, but it merely fizzled out against the much bigger Candlemon. "Heat Wave!" he tried again, but it still had no effect.
The large Candlemon chuckled deeply, his flame just touching the top of the passage. He slowly made his way towards MJ and Hippogriffomon, the ground shuddering under his weight as he jumped each step.
"Uhh… this one has a much thicker wax Hippogriffomon…" MJ gulped, still seated on her partner's back who began to retreat backwards.
Hippogriffomon growled and fired another Heat Wave attack in vain.
Candlemon chuckled as the attack tickled him a little. "Molten Wax!" he flung one of his arms, throwing globs of hot wax everywhere.
Hippogriffomon jumped back, dodging the shower of wax as best as he could. He then looked up to see Candlemon's flame was beginning to glow as it prepared another attack…
"Magical Game!"
Suddenly, Candlemon wailed in pain as his body became stiff…
MJ watched as his body was transformed into bubbles, which then floated apart. As each bubble began to burst, the blonde haired girl spotted Wizardmon at the other end of the passageway with Margaret and Gatomon. "Margaret!" MJ jumped off of her partner's back and ran through the remaining bubbles. "Thanks guys that was perfect timing."
Margaret ran up and hugged the Takaishi girl. "I'm so glad you're okay."
"Yeah we're okay-wait, where's everyone else?" MJ asked.
"We were separated not long after you were." Gatomon explained.
Wizardmon nodded. "Wisemon has been manipulating the castle with his magic."
"That explains the Candlemon then…" MJ thought aloud. Just then, her digivice along with Margaret's beeped. "Huh?" She unclipped her D-Power and pressed one of the buttons, bringing up a holographic image that shone out of the screen. "Wow… what's this?"
Margaret did the same with her own digivice, bringing up the exact same image. "It looks like a map of the castle…" she said as she observed the 3D image.
"This looks like Jonathon's excellent work," Wizardmon smiled. "Remember he said he was working on this." He then raised his staff and pointed it at MJ's hologram. "Look, there is a route planned out within the map. He's leading us to Wisemon's tower."
MJ smiled as she followed the glowing trail in the 3D image. "He sure is a genius… C'mon then, let's go."
Stacey slowly opened her eyes, only to see she was surrounded by complete darkness. She felt as if she was floating in midair. "Huh? Where am I..?" she thought aloud.
Her question was soon answered when the darkness began to fade away. As it slowly disappeared, she felt herself drop a little and land on what she assumed was the floor. Looking around, she saw she was now standing in the middle of what appeared to be some sort of study. It was a circular room with digi code and other scientific symbols written all over the walls. The room was accompanied by a small table in the centre, a black rotating chalk board, and above near the ceiling where lots of floating books.
"Do not be alarmed," Wisemon's soft voice spoke, startling Stacey slightly. She spun round to see he was sat cross legged levitating just above the floor in the darker part of the room. "This is simply what you children call 'my hang out',"
Stacey hesitated for a moment as she continued to look around. "I'm inside your book aren't I?" she said bluntly.
Wisemon uncrossed his legs and straightened his body. "It's deceivingly big isn't it?" he humoured. "The book is merely a gateway to my own personal dimension. It is where I store all the data and information I have collected over the years... sort of my own personal library of the Digital World." he stretched his hand out, summoning one of the books from above them. It floated down and opened up just in front of him. He then produced one of his Space-Time Stones and pushed it into the middle of the book, allowing it to absorb the stone's power.
As it did, Stacey watched as the walls slowly changed into stone and the shape of the room also altered. She gasped under her breath as she now realised she was standing in the middle of Myotismon's old castle at the bottom of Thunder Mountain. Gazimon and other henchmen marched past her, seemingly oblivious that she was there.
"Don't be afraid. This is merely a recording of a space that has already happened," Wisemon reassured.
Stacey backed up and stepped aside as an Ogremon X approached her, but he walked by as if she was invisible. Not allowing her fear to overwhelm her, the blonde haired girl clenched her fists and turned back to face Wisemon. "Stop it." She demanded sharply.
Wisemon smiled slightly and summoned his Space-Time Stone back. As it exited the book, the scenery of Myotismon's castle disappeared, reverting back to his study. "It's clever isn't it?" he commented as he allowed the book to float back up to the ceiling. "With these books and my Space-Time Stones I can playback any record of a space, preserving every event and object in the Digital World. During my time here I have also began to gather a substantial amount of information of your world as well."
"Is that why you dragged me in here?" Stacey asked. "Just so you could playback some bad decisions I've made in the past?"
Wisemon floated across the room, closer to the blonde haired girl, and causing her to take a step back. "I am a curious Digimon, and I wanted to study you to see what it was about you that attracted Lord Grandracmon's attention."
"He just wanted someone to do his dirty work and play off against the others that's all." Stacy shot back quietly.
"Perhaps you are right… but there must have been something about you that interested him, and I would like to find out what that was."
"It's not me you need to be worried about," Stacey remarked.
Wisemon turned his back on her and glided back across the room, smiling a little. "Are you referring to your friends who have gone in search of Lord Grandracmon's soul?" he questioned, causing Stacey to tense up a little. "You DigiDestined are so ignorant about the Dark Area you have no idea what it is truly like." He then turned back around to face the blonde haired girl. "It's nothing compared to the Digital World."
"Its part of the Digital World isn't it?"
Wisemon chuckled. "Your lack of knowledge does amuse me, which just proves my point. You saw what you thought was a chance to win this fight and you rushed in without thinking of what the consequences might be… and now your friends are trapped in there."
Stacey glared at him. "That's what you think."
"What do we do Gabumon? Stacey needs us!" SnowAgumon exclaimed as he paced up and down.
"I don't know SnowAgumon. I don't know how we can get inside that book..." Gabumon replied. His ears then picked up as he heard the sound of faint footsteps coming from the spiral stairway. "Huh? I think someone's coming!" he warned.
The two rookie Digimon quickly scurried behind the open door as the footsteps grew louder. A few moments later, Gabumon slowly peered out from behind the door to see Dan and Jonathon had arrived, entering the room.
"There's the book!" Dan exclaimed, pointing. "Veemon, quick digivolve and destroy that thing!"
"No, wait!" Both Gabumon and SnowAgumon cried out at the same time as they dashed out from behind the door, startling the Motomiya boy. "You can't destroy it, not yet!" Gabumon pleaded.
"Huh? What are you talking about? Wait, where's Stacey?" Dan asked, searching the room.
"Wisemon appeared and dragged her inside," SnowAgumon explained, pointing at the book. "She's trapped in there."
"That complicates things…" Jonathon commented, as Dan stared in shock.
Just then, more footsteps were heard and soon Margaret and MJ arrived, followed by Wizardmon, Gatomon and Hippogriffomon. "What's going on?" MJ immediately asked.
"Wisemon has Stacey." Dan replied, clenching his fist.
"He dragged her into his book." Gabumon added. "How are we going to get her out?"
Wizardmon moved forward a little, his eyes fixed on the book. "There could be a way… but I'm not sure if it'll work…"
"Hey, right now we're open to try anything." Dan remarked.
"What are you thinking Wizardmon?" Hippogriffomon asked.
"I can try and use my own magic to gain access to his book…" Wizardmon replied. "But I don't know if it'll work. Wisemon is a much more powerful Digimon than I am, and he may have spells protecting intruders from gaining entry."
"At least give it a try Wizardmon," Margaret begged. "What do we have to lose?"
"Yeah, who knows what he could be doing to Stacey right now," Gabumon added. "We need to get her out of there."
"Okay then, I'll try my best…" Wizardmon stepped a little closer to the book and aimed his staff directly at it. He then closed his eyes, focusing all of his magic into his staff. The tip of his staff began to glow before a powerful blast of energy shot out and surrounded the book in a white glowing light…
Inside the book, a few sparks ignited above them. Wisemon tilted his head and watched as a streak of electrical energy split across the ceiling. "It looks like your friends are trying to rescue you," he spoke softly. He aimed his palm at the chalk board across the room, and after a few second a live image of Wizardmon and the children appeared. "I must admit Wizardmon is turning out to be stronger than I anticipated," he commented as he watched the champion Digimon at work. "You have loyal friends. Despite your actions in the past they are doing all they can to save you."
Stacey just stared at him coldly. "How come I never saw you inside Myotismon's castle?"
"I kept myself hidden away, mostly here inside my book. I needed to gather as much information as I could within the Digital World to help with Lord Grandracmon's return to power." Wisemon explained. "You may have not seen me, but I had been watching you, and your friends." He then paused as another spark of electrical energy flash above. "Just like I'm watching your friend in the Dark Area…" he expanded one of his Space-Time Stones to reveal an image of Dawn inside.
"Dawn-" Stacey took a step forward, but Wisemon retracted his stone causing the image to disappear. "You better not hurt them!" she warned.
"All I can do from here is watch… but there are other Digimon in the Dark Area who might be inclined to cause a little trouble…"
Stacey continued to glare at him. "Whatever it is you have planned it's not going to work. They're gonna make it. They're gonna find Grandracmon's soul and destroy it!"
Wisemon chuckled somewhat. "I sense your misguided hope is because of the prophecy your little feline friend stole from me..." He said. "It may have led you to believe you could win… but remember; nothing is ever set in stone..." He summoned another book from above them. Again, he produced one of his Space-Time Stones and placed it inside the open pages. Just like before, the scenery began to change. His study disappeared and was replaced by a vast open area shrouded in darkness and mist.
Stacey gasped as she soon found herself standing on the edge of a mountain side, looking out over an immense open space of forest, wasteland and mountains. She could hear the faint roars of Digimon in the distance.
"You see how big the Dark Area is? It is filled with some of the most corrupt and evil Digimon. Even some of the purist of Digimon have fallen victim to its darkness." With a flick of his wrist, he commanded one of the pages to turn. The scenery changed again, and they were now in the middle of the wasteland. It was dark and filled with mist, and around them were dark silhouettes of large and scary looking Digimon that Stacey didn't recognise. "The Digimon show no mercy to strangers who do not belong in the Dark Area... Some have had to make brutal adaptations in order to survive themselves…" Wisemon then turned another page, changing the scenery for a third time. "Despite the power some of these Digimon possess to this day Lord Grandracmon's castle still remains impenetrable…"
Stacey was now standing on top of a rocky hillside, looking out over what appeared to be a small mountain next to a large lake filled with dark murky water. In the middle of the lake were large towering rocks spread across the water. Dark thick fog and cloud filled the air, making it impossible to make anything else out, except for some more hills in the distance. Stacey squinted a little, trying to locate the castle, until she realised the small mountain by the lake was the castle. It structure blended in well with its surroundings…
"… and I'm not about to let two humans risk my lord's legacy!" Wisemon snapped as he quickly retracted his Space-Time Stone, ending the illusion.
Before Stacey had chance to respond, another streak of energy, more powerful than before, surged above them. "Huh?" Stacey gazed up to see the ceiling looked as if it was starting to crack…
Wisemon quickly returned the book back to its original place above him. "What? Impossible…"
Wizardmon's magic was slowly but surely breaking through the barrier. Wisemon thrust his palm upwards, preparing to use his own magic to counter it, but before he had chance a bolt of energy broke through from above and found its way to Stacey's digivice, which then began to glow…
"C'mon Wizardmon you can do it." MJ encouraged as they watched on.
Wizardmon tightened his grip on his staff as he could feel the connection with Stacey's D-Power. Once he had enough power attached, he took a step back and with a swing of his staff he was able to pull her out.
Stacey screamed as she was thrown out from within the book and landed in a heap on the floor, slumping against the wall.
"Stacey!" Gabumon and SnowAgumon rushed over to her side. "Are you okay?" Gabumon added.
"I saw his castle…" Stacey murmured, but her two partners' didn't hear her.
Following from Stacey's departure, Wisemon soon emerged from inside his book, slowly floating up. "Impressive Wizardmon… especially for a champion level Digimon." He said, looking down at Wizardmon who was resting on one knee, a little exhausted.
"There are still some tricks left in this old wizard…" Wizardmon humoured.
"As there is in this one too…" Wisemon referred to himself, summoning his two Space-Time Stones.
"You're gonna wish you stayed inside that book, Wisemon!" Dan declared. "Digivolve Veemon!" He then released his digital ring and placed it inside his D-Watch…
"VEEMON DOUBLE DIGIVOLVE TO… CYBERDRAMON!"
"I'm afraid the games end here children…" Wisemon warned.
"We're only just getting started!" MJ proclaimed as Jonathon and Margaret placed their own rings inside their D-Watches…
"TENTOMON DOUBLE DIGIVOLVE TO… JEWELBEEMON!"
"GATOMON DIGIVOLVE TO… KAZEMON!"
Wisemon chuckled. "Well, if you're in the mood for games… let's have some fun shall we?" He formed a collection of energy spheres in each of his palms before he began to unleash them upon the DigiDestined, taking out Cyberdramon who had been the first to charge.
JewelBeemon rolled out of the way before charging across the room. "Spike Buster!" he sliced his spear through two of Wisemon's attacks before preparing to strike the ultimate Digimon.
Wisemon fired a blast from his palm, knocking JewelBeemon back before he did the same with Kazemon who attempted to attack. He then aimed his palm at Hippogriffomon who was lunging towards him, and with a swift motion of his arm he was able to throw MJ's partner across the room without even touching him. Hippogriffomon crashed into Kazemon who was just getting to her feet. Wisemon then placed his palms together and thrust them forward, releasing a shockwave that consumed the room. The force of the shockwave forced the children and Gabumon and SnowAgumon out of the room through the open door, as well as blasting the rest of their Digimon through the walls and out of the tower. In a flash the spiral steps of the tower all merged into one large slide and the DigiDestined screamed as they slid down as if it was a huge helter-skelter.
The opening that led out onto the bridge prevented them from sliding all the way down. They all tumbled through the gap, sprawling out in a heap on the bridge. Next there was the sound of an explosion as Wisemon blasted a hole in the roof of the tower. The DigiDestined looked up to see him emerge from inside, floating up into the sky with his book levitating just below his feet.
Wisemon raised his hands, taking control of the stone slates on the roof of the tower. The slates dislodged and rose up into the air, and with a simple gesture with his hands, he fired them down towards the DigiDestined.
As the slates were almost on top of them; MetallifeKuwagamon suddenly appeared in their path. "Emit Blade!" He swiped his right arm, releasing a beam in the shape of a large blade which tore through the slates, disintegrating them.
"Huh?" Wisemon glanced to his left to see Crowmon appear from behind the side of the castle, carrying Katie, James and Fernanda on her back. He watched as the bird Digimon circled around him before unleashing her Savage Emperor attack. Wisemon quickly expanded one of his Space-Time Stones, which swallowed up the attack, before he then fired it back out of the other stone directly at Crowmon.
"Watch out!" James shouted, as Crowmon swooped to the right, avoiding being hit by her own attack.
"Vulcan's Hammer!" Down on the ground on the edge of the island, Zudomon threw his hammer high up into the air, aiming it at Wisemon.
Despite having his back to the oncoming attack, at the last second Wisemon simply leaned his body out of the way, allowing the hammer to hurtle past and strike Kazemon who had been coming at him from the opposite direction.
"Pollen Spray!"
Wisemon looked up to see Lilamon, who was still holding Tricia in her arm, hovering above him spraying a shower of bewitching pollen over him. He chuckled as the pollen settled on his cloak with no effect. "Your charming little spells won't work on me," he said before he aimed his palm upwards and fired a blast of energy.
Lilamon gasped and quickly spun around, taking the blast in the back and keeping Tricia safe.
Wisemon then summoned the small books from inside his book. They all floated up into the air surrounding him. He glanced to his left to see Cyberdramon soaring towards him. "Hmm… Perhaps a change of scenery is in order…" he teased as the all the books opened. He thrust one of his Space-Time Stones into one of the books that were closest to him.
The surroundings suddenly changed into a large fiery wasteland and Cyberdramon found himself heading straight for an eruption of lava that had burst out from a lava pool. He gasped and managed to halt in the air, just before he was burned…
"Cyberdramon!" Dan cried out. He was about to run forward, but Stacey grabbed his arm, pulling him back.
"Wait!" she warned. "Don't move. It's all an illusion. Remember we're still standing on the bridge. None of this is real. If you move you could fall over the edge."
"Or perhaps you would prefer something a little cooler…" Wisemon continued. Upon placing another stone in a different book, he changed the surroundings to the middle of the Freezeland in File Island. Noticing JewelBeemon and Hippogriffomon heading for him from either side, he used his hands to summon the two large ice glaciers closer to him. He then caused them to shatter into small pieces, before morphing the pieces into blades of ice and firing them either side of him, taking out the two Digimon.
Wizardmon gripped his staff, his eyes fixed on Wisemon. "We need to destroy his book… I'll try and distract him." He said before he jumped up and floated up into the air so he was in line with Wisemon.
Wisemon noticed Wizardmon approaching, and turned his full attention on him. "You really are quite foolish Wizardmon…" he said. "Risking your life yet again to protect these humans." Choosing the perfect location, he placed his stone into another book changing the scenery so they were now on top of the TV Station in the very spot where Wizardmon had sacrificed himself all those years ago.
Unfazed, Wizardmon didn't say anything. He raised his staff in front of his face, which then began to glow a light blue. The light became brighter, almost blinding, before it started to emit sparks of blue lightning which streaked across the sky, surrounding Wisemon, who tried to shield his eyes with his arm.
Stacey stared up at Wisemon, releasing his digital ring from her digivice as she did. "You two know what to do." She said to her partners.
"GABUMON… SNOWAGUMON… DNA WARP DIGIVOLVE TO… ZEEDGARURUMON!"
As Wisemon was distracted by the lightning from Wizardmon's staff, Kazemon soared up and turned, unleashing a flying kick across three of the books, destroying them. JewelBeemon sliced his spear through another four. MetallifeKuwagamon fired a laser beam tearing through most of them. Zudomon threw his hammer like a boomerang taking out some more. When the book containing Wisemon's Space-Time Stone was destroyed, it ended the illusion.
"Huh?" Wisemon squinted, just making out one of the towers of the castle to his left. He scowled and expanded his Space-Time Stone which sucked in Wizardmon's attack. He quickly then fired it back out of the other stone as one large laser beam directly at Wizardmon.
Wizardmon gasped, and swiftly threw his cape across his body, making himself vanish.
"Zeed Cannon!" Whilst Wisemon had his attention on attacking Wizardmon, ZeedGarurumon had positioned himself behind him, and as soon as Wizardmon had disappeared, he fired a single but powerful shot from the cannon on his back.
It exploded underneath Wisemon's feet, the force of the blast sending him spiralling up into the air. He quickly regained his composure, and as he looked down he gasped in horror to see his book had been blown to pieces. Small pieces of torn paper floated down before disintegrating into tiny specs of data. He immediately turned his attention towards Stacey on the bridge, his eyes narrowing in anger. But before he had chance to attack, Cyberdramon appeared behind him from below and unleashed his Desolation Claw attack. He was then dealt a powerful kick to the face by Kazemon. "… You may have destroyed my book but that doesn't lower my power…" he warned. In a flash, he took out both Cyberdramon and Kazemon with two blasts of energy.
"Heat Wave!" Hippogriffomon fired his high temperature wind, causing Wisemon to flinch and protect himself with his cloak.
"Full Metal Breath!" ZeedGarurumon simultaneously fired his large cannon, as well as all the other weapons on his body with full force.
In the break between Hippogriffomon's attack ending, Wisemon quickly turned and expanded his Space-Time Stone to steal ZeedGarurumon's attack. He then began to spin his body around and re-fired it out from his other stone, covering the entire range as he spun, hitting all of the Digimon that surrounded him.
"Magical Game!" Wizardmon suddenly reappeared directly above Wisemon and fired an intense blast of lightning energy. It struck Wisemon, sending it through his entire body and temporally paralyzing him.
"Now's our chance…" ZeedGarurumon ordered as Wizardmon continued to hold Wisemon at bay. "Zeed Cannon!"
"Desolation Claw!"
"Hurricane Wave!"
"Heat Wave!"
"Lila Shower!"
"Vulcan's Hammer!"
"Savage Emperor!"
"Homing Laser!"
"Spike Buster!"
Wisemon watched as all the attacks homed in on him from every direction. He struggled against Wizardmon's hold trying to free himself as the attacks grew nearer and nearer... In the split second before impact, he was able to break free and take hold of his Space-Time Stones…
The attacks all hit at once, filling the sky with a huge explosion of energy and smoke. As the smoke cleared, Wisemon had gone…
"Alright!" Dan cheered. "Great job guys!"
Stacey continued to look up at where Wisemon had been, watching as the last remaining smoke slowly disappeared in the sky. Somehow deep down, she wasn't so sure they should be celebrating just yet…
To be continued…
