Chapter 16- Red and Yellow
Weiss Schnee sat upon a boulder sticking out from the ground. Her voice sang a song of sorrow of hope, calling for the world to realize its errors, so that she and her allies may not need to lay down their lives every day to try and make the tiniest iota of a difference. Her voice was soothing, beautiful, and it came with many years of practice. Weiss didn't always want to be a warrior of the Blue Revolt, before the destruction of her village, when she lived a happy and fulfilling life with her huntress elder sister, upstanding little brother, and her outstanding parents. She couldn't live that life anymore, however. Not after men wearing masks of white with their advanced machinery made sure that their village would never be able to thrive again. All because they thought it was a potential threat. Weiss wished things could have been different, she would have much rather lived the life she yearned for and do good with her skills. Her sister wanted the same for her, Winter Schnee listened from behind a tree nearby her younger sister. They had to start the raid on the WFC train holding millions of lien worth of dust soon, but instead, she listened, hearing her sister's words.
It was a song hopeful of a better future and a song of sorrow from the past. Her sister sang and sang to her heart's content, knowing that she will never be able to do so on a stage. Winter shut her eyes underneath her mask and allowed her sister that moment of peace to stretch just a little longer. She needed it, there was never usually a time when people like them were able to have time to work on their hobbies. Winter was more inclined to the blade, much more so than anything else. She wanted to be a huntress once. Once. After she joined the Blue Revolt, she was ejected from Mantle Academy and exiled from her home. In the end, she only had her sister and her father and mother, but even the latter two rejected her. Now, it was just Weiss. Her last younger sibling that she had sworn to protect all her life.
"Weiss," Winter called out to her at least, interrupting her singing. "I'm sorry, but we need to go. Now. The train is nearly in position for us to board it."
Weiss looked at her and slowly nodded her head. She reached down to the blue mask stowed next to her on the stone and fixed it onto her face. Weiss never liked wearing the mask, but she knew that she had to represent what she was fighting for. Winter didn't like it either, in all honesty, but it was better than not. It was better that their foes knew who they were fighting. What they were trying to smother down and erase. The Blue Revolt can never be erased, Winter was determined to make sure of that.
"Okay," Weiss said, taking her newly rebuilt Myrtenaster and holstering it into its sheath. "I'm ready."
Weiss followed Winter as she dashed through the forest like a blur of white and blue. Her blue low hanging coat flapping behind her as her legs moved faster than the naked eye could see. Weiss was close behind, a purely white blur of her own as they made their way to a cliffside with the perfect natural ramp for them to use to gain momentum and get onto the train without even using their semblances. Winter had them stop at the edge of a cliff, and they listened closely to the sound of the train as it chugged and chuffed its way toward them. It was an older model train, which was evident by the burning furnace melting using fire and steam dust as its fuel. They stayed out of sight as the conductor controlled the train down its set railroads, and Winter gave them the signal to jump onto the train once the first train car passed them. Weiss slid on the bottoms of her feet, feeling her feet dig into rose-colored soil as right before she leaped into the air. Landing gracefully on the second to last train car of six. The wind became louder, the air became more difficult to breathe as it blasted into their face like a superpowered fan. The crimson leaves falling from the trees of the Forever Fall Forest threatened to fly into their mouths if they so much as left them open for more than a second. It was nothing unlike what they had already practiced. James Ironwood, the recently installed leader of the Blue Revolt gave them both specific orders to be the ones to conduct this raid, as they are going to need the dust to weaponize themselves even further. They had the guns, they now just needed ammo, and to make ammo strong enough to destroy their enemies, they needed dust.
Winter Schnee flicked her sword out in the blink of an eye, easily slicing open one of the latches on the metal trap door, and gestured for Weiss to jump down into the train car. Winter followed quickly after, and they found themselves suspended in the cold darkness. It smelled of metal and dust - and not the kind of dust they were looking for. The only sources of light were glowing blue, blaring at them through the darkness as several Mantilian battle droids initiated upon scanning their arrival. Instantly, the Schnee sisters released their weapons, Myrtenaster glowing white as Weiss selected a dust crystal with its revolving mechanism whereas Winter split her saber into two. In the next second, a white glyph was summoned from underneath them both. Igniting the train car in bright white light, and revealing to the sisters that they were surrounded.
"Intruders," One of the machines whirled as two chainguns revved on each arm. "Identify yourselves immediately, or be eliminated. You are committing a class one felony, failure to comply will lead to-" The machine was cut off as Winter slashed its head off, destroying it instantly.
"Let's do this," Winter said as they both crouched lower to the ground and lunged at their enemies. There was a rule about killing other humans and faunus, and it was to only kill if you have to or if they are a target for elimination. Robot soldiers from Mantle, however, were fair game. There was no need to hold back when the machines they were fighting were made of metal. It took a lot of strength to cut through that metal, and if they held back, they would only be putting themselves at a severe disadvantage. Knowing this, Winter destroyed the next three machines in a flurry of white and blue, cleaving them all into pieces. Bullets were fired at her, but the ones that hit her were deflected by aura while the rest were hit or deflected by her blades. Using a time dilation glyph, she slowed downtime for everyone but herself and her sister. The bullets became much easier to dodge, the machines became even more sluggish and easier to hit. It was the perfect killing technique to use when surrounded.
Her sister had just as much ease with the skirmish as she was. Using Myrtnaster enhanced by fire to stab through and burn the cybernetics within the machines, rendering them destroyed. Others were forced to explode as the wrong combination of burning wires within their system conducted an electrical fire much too intense for their extinguishing subroutines to keep up with. Weiss wasn't as good as her sister, but she was trained by that very sister, and it was said that in due time she would indeed catch up with her in terms of strength and skill. Against these droids, however, they might as well be made out of paper. The dozen or so Mantilian Battle Droids were destroyed in less than a minute, which led to the two of them taking a small moment to rest. Weiss dropped down to one knee beside her sister who set down an explosive near the couple keeping their train car connected to the rest of the train. However, before Winter could start the countdown, they stopped.
"We can get more," she said when Weiss stared at her with confusion. "We can get more dust. We just have to clear out the rest of the train cars, if there are only droids like these, then we can easily take over the entire train."
"What about the crew members?" Weiss asked.
"What about them?" Winter countered. "They aren't the reason we're here. If we see any, leave them be. They can save their own lives as long as they don't get in our way."
"We both know what happens to prisoners in the Blue Revolt, Winter…" Weiss slowly remarked.
"Weiss, we are not having this conversation again," Winter snapped. "We are here to get as much dust for the Blue Revolt as possible. Not to have a philosophical clash of ideals."
"R-Right… I understand," With a sigh, Weiss stood up with her sister as she reset the explosives and stashed them back into a small pack located on the lower part of her back. When she was finished, Weiss followed her to the end of the train car, getting ready to blast through it and attack what was on the other side. This train car had an open roof unlike the other two, so they had to be more careful of the wind as well. Something that the machines wouldn't have to worry about. Thankfully, it was only a small disadvantage.
Weiss was the first to break through, eager to get the raid over with. Just as they suspected, many more droids began to shoot at them as soon as they revealed themselves. There was no messing around, however, they were on a time limit. The farther this train got from their designated pick-up zone, the less likely it would be for them to get all of the dust before Mantle was able to send a reinforcement battalion to retake it. The sisters used the environment to their advantage, using the crates of dust as cover and abusing the subroutine inside of the droids to force them to hold their fire lest they blow up the entire train. The fact that they had not just guns but chainguns attached to their hands and were the ones set to guard the contents of the train reeked of negligence and poor planning. It made it even easier for Weiss and Winter to easily carve through the opposition without hardly breaking a sweat. They cleared that train car just as quickly, and a quick look around told them both that the train car was packed full of crates of the dust of every type. They already had double the amount that they were originally planning for, but Winter wanted more.
"We have enough!" Weiss exclaimed as Winter pushed further to the next train car. "Let's just decouple the train cars we cleared out and go!"
"We need more!" Winter suddenly screamed, shocking Weiss into silence. "The Blue Revolt needs all it can get to fight a war against a superpower like Mantle! I see the chance for us to change the tide of the future, and I will be damned before I let your petty ideals get in the way of that!"
"W-Winter…" Hurt, Weiss couldn't stop Winter from scoffing and turning around. She always got like this on missions, she just got so angry, so resentful, and easily irritated. Her anger often clouded her love for her sister, and the things she said to her sometimes made her wish again that things could have been different. Still, she couldn't let her do this alone. That was her role in these kinds of missions. Even though Winter's hate was powerful, whenever she saw her she remembered what she was fighting for, and her natural desire to protect her. She was the one who could always hold her back when she got too far. Or at least, that was how it used to be. Now, she didn't know what she could ever do to hold her back from committing a war crime, because whenever she tried, Winter would snap at her. She didn't know what to do with her, and she was terrified with the idea that Winter may have finally gone too far for even her to save.
The droids in the next train car were already destroyed by the time she got there. Winter stood in the center of the destruction, holding a raw crystal of ice dust in her hand and smiling maniacally at it. She was excited, proud, she thought that what she just did was for the betterment of all the outlandish villages that have gone ignored by their kingdoms that were meant to protect them.
"You see, Weiss?" Winter asked as she tossed the raw dust crystal at her. "Premium dust mined directly from Mantle itself. This is what people bled and died to mine so that the rest of the world can enjoy the pleasantries of what life has to offer. It will now be used to support our cause, and eliminate our enemies."
"Right… are we going to set the explosives now?"
"Hm?" Winter looked confused for a second. "Oh, right, go ahead. The train car ahead is good to decouple from us. Make it quick though," she said as she tossed Weiss the explosives. "We are already almost out of our pick-up zone. Any further, and we might be on our own-"
Winter was cut off when a massive spider tank, specifically designed to destroy huntsman-trained individuals, fell from the ceiling. Crashing down between her and her sister and whirling into action. Weiss and Winter had no time to prepare, all they could do was work together wordlessly to defeat this next foe. However, there was never supposed to be something like this anyway, at least not on a train meant to just transport dust from one place to the next! Security is bound to be plentiful, but a spider tank!? Mantle was starting to take them more seriously now, and they chose a great time for it. Weiss gulped nervously as the spider tank aimed at her, its energy cannons charging with power.
"Move!" Winter exclaimed as she summoned a glyph in front of her sister, absorbing the blast and then with another glyph, sent the absorbed energy right back at the spider tank. This caused it to fall onto its side, enabling her and Weiss to run back out to the open train car so that they may have more space to deal with the spider tank. "Give me some time!" Winter said as she knelt behind a crate and stabbed her sword into the ground, creating a summoning glyph beneath her.
"Okay!" Weiss flourished Myrtenaster and revolved to a gravity dust crystal The purple energy of said crystal resonated from the tip of her sword, and she got ready to fight. The spider tank blasted through the train car they were just in and immediately lunged at her, but Weiss reached it first. The super increased momentum she gained in that instant enabled her to stab her sword down to the hilt into the tank's cranium. However, this wasn't enough to disable it. The tank easily threw her off, but she landed gracefully. It jumped at her with one of its metallic and spiked legs, and she dodged it quickly. In a mirage of a dance between a giant metallic monster and a small girl who once wanted to be a singer, the two of them dancing in a flurry of energy, fast movements, and slicing the air. In the end, the tank had no stamina problems to worry about, and it managed to catch Weiss just once, which was enough for it to throw Weiss away.
"You did more than enough, sister!" Winter said as she came out of cover, her white hair and clothes glowing brightly as her semblance activated at full strength. "Now witness the summoning of a true Goliath!" True to her words, behind her came out the largest and strongest land Grimm of them all. A Goliath, shrouded in the colors of white and blue rather than the usual black and red, roared from its trunk. It charged at the spider tank and shrugged off its blasts with ease. The Goliath clashed and thrashed its horns against the tank, ripping off its cannons and crushing one of its legs. In a battle that lasted no more than twenty seconds, the Goliath roared once more and stood on its two back feet, crashing down on the tank with all its weight, destroying it in a smother explosion of cybernetics.
Winter was about to applaud her sister for a job well done as her summoned Goliath returned to a glyph, but she was shocked to see Weiss standing in the very crater that the tank created to reach them, and the explosives set down on the couple between her and her sister's train car.
"I'm sorry," Weiss said sorrowfully. "But I am done."
"Weiss…" Winter's voice called out to her, it was shaky and emotional. "What are you doing?"
"Wow," Penny said with wide eyes as she sipped juice out of a glass cup, pretending that it was wine. "And the rest is from what you told me before. You and your sister talked, and then you left?"
"That is the gist of it," Weiss said, looking down at her empty cup and nervously gripping it tighter. Her hands felt sweaty and nervous, it has been so long - now, she had never told anyone about that before. Not even Ruby, her partner! "Once the train stopped in Vale, I posed as one of the passengers and escaped into the city. I had nowhere else to go, and I was afraid that my sister would send people to come to find me or worse, try and find me herself. So… I applied to get into Beacon after I heard that it was about to start its next semester."
"Huh, well, how is that turning out right now?" Penny asked, realizing her mistake instantly when Weiss looked down at her cup once more. "No, no, I meant how it's going like, have you made friends? You like training to become a huntress? That sort of thing, not the mean thought that you were thinking about."
"Right…" Weiss sighed. "I… suppose it wasn't entirely bad. I had a leader I didn't mind having, a partner that is only mildly annoying but whom I am still willing to get along with, and some other friends outside my team that I can name. But… there was one I just couldn't get along with, someone that just irked me with almost everything they said."
"Oooh, seeing you get more fired up like that makes me interested in hearing about this person that annoys you so much." Penny teased. "Unless it's me because if it is that would suck."
"It's not you," Weiss confirmed with a roll of her eyes. "I only just met you anyway, why would it be you? Don't answer that." She added when Penny opened her mouth. "Her name is Blake, Blake Belladonna."
"Ah, I can see why her very existence would annoy you now," Penny admitted. "I gotta say though, I am also from an outlandish village, you know. I grew up in a little village outside of Vacuo called Aestas."
"Is that so…?" Weiss replied. "I used to be in Menagerie, but I moved with my sister and brother to a village outside of Mantle."
"And there I can see your hatred for Mantle," Penny said. "I'm sorry about your brother, Weiss. I am."
"It's fine," Weiss said, looking down again. "It's not like you're the one who killed him though, so I don't know why you're apologizing."
"Well, with that logic I don't see how you can blame Blake for something she didn't do," Penny said suddenly. "I mean, it wasn't like she has done anything to you, has her? Other than annoy you, anyway, aren't you two the same age?"
"Just about…" Weiss admitted slowly.
"That means that what happened to your brother happened when she was like, eleven, I'm guessing," Penny remarked.
"I know that," Weiss was forced to confess. "I know she couldn't have had any hand in my brother's death. I know that she hasn't done anything to me personally. I know that."
"So… do I need to ask the next obvious question?"
Weiss sighed. "I suppose… I might be more like my sister than I realize. I didn't look at that logic, I looked at her name, and I just hated her the very moment I set my eyes on her. But… thinking about it with a calmer mind, I understand that perhaps my hate for her was undeserved."
"Perhaps?" Penny egged her on. "Come on, getting you to admit the full truth is like pulling death from a Beowolf."
"Why must I admit something that we already know?" Weiss countered. "But fine, yes, Blake is… not entirely bad. There were some moments where I… didn't hate her."
"That's what I like to hear," Penny said, smiling.
"Still, she has faults that I cannot look past. Not huge ones, since considering the environment that she grew up in, it is only natural that her views would clash with mine. She calls the Blue Revolt criminals, terrorism that needs to be snuffed out."
"I mean… isn't that the reason you left it?" Penny asked. "No offense, Weiss, but you're being a little hypocritical here. As your friend of about twelve hours, I gotta say that."
"I…" Weiss sighed heavily. "They weren't always that way… I need to find out why they shouldn't need all this dust after the train raid that me and my sister conducted. Yet here they are, rushing into simple stores and robbing them of their livelihood. That is almost the complete opposite of what we were fighting for."
"Alright, I'm guessing with that train of thought, you want to investigate them?" Nodding her head in confirmation, Penny sighed. "Well, I can't exactly let you do all that by yourself. How about this; Let's get your team on board as well, get you all back together and reconcile before this wedge between you and them isn't driven any further."
"Not now," Weiss said. "Not so soon either. … this is something that I need to do, preferably by myself at that. This isn't anyone else's fight but mine. The Blue Revolt was once my responsibility, in a way."
"It's about to become everyone's responsibility if they are working with the likes of Neo," Penny announced. "But I won't force you to talk to your friends if you're not ready. It was a hassle as it was to just get you to admit that what you were doing to Blake may have been wrong. But I am coming with you. I am way too deep in chasing after you as it is."
"Didn't you just chase after me because you recognized me?" Weiss asked.
"Eh, semantics. Maybe it's just because I quite enjoy the color of your eyes."
"Tch," Weiss scoffed. "Very well, If you want to come with me, I won't stop you. After what I told you, I would be afraid of you turning me in if I let you go now anyway."
"Hey, only if I got paid enough, to be fair."
"That's… usually my leader would say that you are joking. I hope so anyway."
"Calm down, calm down," Penny laughed. "Of course I was joking. Lead the way now, Weiss, let's see if this hunch of yours is anywhere close to right."
"Weiss! Weiss! Weeeeiiisss!" Ruby called for her partner, cupping her hands over her mouth as she did so. Next to her Yang was calling out just as loudly as she was. After the initial shock of Weiss' revelation to them that she used to be a member of the Blue Revolt, they were able to understand why she was the way she is, and despite what they may think of the revolt, they still believe Weiss to be a dear friend to them. Even Blake came along with them although with little difficulty in convincing that she should come with them to find Weiss. She wasn't as animated or as vocal as they were searching for her, but she was present.
Sadly, that didn't mean that she entirely agreed with their attempts.
"I don't know why you two keep calling out for her like that," Blake said. "If Weiss doesn't want to be found she isn't going to let us find her. All we're doing is wasting her time, it's better if we let her come back to us instead of the other way around."
"Come on Blake, let's not get started with this again," Yang said, sighing heavily as she turned to meet her partner's eyes. "We're going to find her and we're not going back to Beacon until we do. That's what we agreed on, and that's what we're going to do."
"I know. Even if it's stupid," Blake scoffed. "It's still a waste of time."
"How could you say that?" Yang said, irritated. "Weiss may have been part of that group but she's still our friend! It doesn't matter what she was, it matters what she is now."
"And right now she is a coward, running away from her problems," Blake remarked. "Not exactly lighting her up in a good light, Yang."
"Yeah? Isn't that exactly what you did?" Yang snapped back, making Blake recoil back in surprise as if she'd been slapped.
"W-What are you talking about?" Blake, clearly hurt by her words, asked. "Are you using what I told you against me?"
"I'm just pointing out a damn blaring similarity between you and Weiss," Yang spat. "You wanted to get away from Mantle so you can forge your own life, right? So you don't always have to follow this path set out for you ever since the day you were born? Coming to Beacon instead of going to the Academy in Mantle was just step one of that little plan of yours, you just wanted a break from all those responsibilities, and you know what? I get that, I do. I may not understand it completely, but I get it! But Weiss is going through the same kind of feeling, only hers is a hell of a lot worse than yours will ever be."
"What!?" Blake was far from her usual self, who would so adamantly defend herself and snapback with insults of her own. Only this time she didn't, her eyes became glassy and she reached up to stroke the scar that cut down her face over her left eye. She was still upset, but not in any way that Yang could notice. Ruby, however, the slightly oldest of the team and one who was much better at detecting more complicated emotions saw what was happening, and quickly got in between the two of them before Yang could continue or Blake would regain her fire to argue back.
"Hey, hey, hey, come on, arguing like this all the time was what led to Weiss leaving without talking to us." Ruby pointed out, pushing her sister further away from her partner. "And Yang, that wasn't very nice of you. I know you're stressed out and all and angry at us and yourself, but Blake told you those things about herself because she trusted you, can't you see you've hurt her?"
"Eh?" Yang seemed to snap out of it once her sister pointed that out. She took another good look at Blake, recognizing that the faunus wasn't the kind of upset that she was more accustomed to dealing with and arguing against. She was sad, and her eyes said so.
"Don't you think that I blame myself as well?" Blake asked, looking away and sighing heavily. "I was the one that argued with Weiss the most, I was the one who didn't try as hard as I could have to prove to her that I wasn't like the evil men and women that she had grown up seeing. Weiss was friendly with you both, but me… it was hardly like we were teammates at all."
"Blake…" Yang stepped forward and slumped her head against her partner's chest. "I'm sorry… I didn't mean to say something so mean like that… I was just angry, and you didn't deserve it."
"Tch," Yang felt Blake sigh into her hair. It was the first time that they were that close without it being a forced teasing hug or during a sparring session. It felt warm, and she felt as though it would be one of the only times Blake would ever let her near her. "I'm still mad at her… but I wasn't going to tell the teachers or anything… I never hated her. I'm just worried that after what happened, that she hates us, or me even more so."
"Weiss is a complicated person," Yang said, pulling back. "But we have our fair share of issues ourselves. Weiss at least had a reason, albeit not a very strong one, to not like you, and the same with you to her since she started not that nice to you. But you and I? Heh, we should be best friends by now."
"I think that settles it then!" Ruby exclaimed, grabbing the hands of her sister and Blake and dragging them into a triangular formation with them all facing the middle. "Let's agree right here and now that Team YBWR is all going to reconcile and become real friends! No more senseless arguing, no more keeping secrets from each other, let's fully devote ourselves to this team and make it to the top!"
"Heh, that's an order I'd be very willing to give," Yang said, smiling brightly once again.
"And it's an order I might be willing to follow," Blake added.
"But first, we have to get Weiss back," Yang remarked. "Once we get her back at Beacon, Team YBWR will be whole again. Only then can we start on that promise of ours, agreed?"
"Yup!" Ruby exclaimed.
"Indeed," Blake said.
"Yeah! That sounds like a great plan!" Sun added.
"Yah!" Yang, Ruby, and Blake jumped out of their skin, clutching onto each other suddenly as Sun Wukong, the strange boy with the hot abs from the other day, seemingly appeared out of nowhere. The blonde monkey faunus smiled at them brightly, this time wearing what looked like a regular uniform of a student from Mantle Academy, only it was open down the middle, showing the chiseled abs that would have been hiding underneath it had he kept it closed.
"Hello, friends!" Sun exclaimed, smiling brightly as he waved a hand at them despite being so close already. "I can't help but have overheard with my extremely good sense of hearing that one of your teammates, namely Weiss Schnee to be specific, is missing. Seeing that we are friends, I shall offer myself as an ally to your search for her."
"H-How long were you standing there?" Yang asked, a little creeped out.
"Oh, I wasn't standing here for long. I was standing behind that light pole wondering how to approach you all. I apologize, as I recognize that it may be misinterpreted as stalking, but I assure you, I have no bad intentions whatsoever!"
"For some reason, that goofy smile on his face tells me he's being genuine." Ruby pointed out, and she'd know it too. She had Raven Branwen for a mother, and as her eldest daughter despite not being blood-related she made sure to instill basic detection skills like that into her at a young age. That way she could tell if someone was being dishonest or hiding something. Sun was an odd one, surely, because despite what he has been doing and saying, he seemed to be a genuinely good person. Well, it wasn't as if her own family was without its weirdos. Take Yang away from a single strand of hair, and good luck hoping that the damages would be less than five figures long to repair.
"Thank you, friend Ruby!" Sun exclaimed, bowing at her in his gratefulness. "Now, how can I help? I predict that the reasoning for Weiss's sudden departure was due to you all finding out that she was a former member of the Blue Revolt, am I correct?"
"Yeah… how do you know that though?" Blake asked. "Did you hear us talking about it?"
"Well, no, but shouldn't it be obvious?" Sun asked, confused. "Her last name is Schnee, after all."
"And? What's that supposed to mean?" Yang asked.
"Well, Jacques and Willow Schnee were the ones who created the Blue Revolt, and the ones who were its previous leaders," Sun explained. "Did you not manage to piece it together yourselves?"
Yang, Ruby, and Blake all looked at each other. Only to then hang their heads in disappointment.
"Alright, Sun, you're with me," Yang said, taking Sun by the arm and making him walk with her in a different direction. "Let's split up, two and two, that way we can cover more ground. Sun, you're a huntsman in training, right?"
"I am true!" Sun confirmed, burping suddenly as he did so. "Oop, sorry."
Weiss and Penny crouched low as they made their way to a building adjacent to the docks. It was a small one that acted as a break room for the workers who worked the night shift. Though strangely enough although this should be at a time where the workers would still be working, there was no one inside of it, and there was no sign of anyone being in it recently. That was enough to draw forth some concern, and they climbed to the top of a building using a ladder that was set at the back of it meant for maintenance to be able to get easy access to the roof of the building just in case something needed to be fixed up there. That was where they started their stakeout, all the way out into midnight and several hours later from the point when Weiss told Penny about her past. Using information from Penny, there was a WFC ship that docked recently, and its cargo was already unloaded onto the docks itself. Weiss knew from experience that this would be the perfect time to bring in a huge load of dust for the Blue Revolt to continue to weaponize themselves. There was practically as much dust or more than even the train had all those months ago in the Forever Fall Forest just sitting here on the docks unattended. There was just no way that the Blue Revolt would pass up a chance like this. Especially not when she knew her sister controlled the Vale division of the Blue Revolt. Next to James Ironwood himself, Winter Schnee was the next best Commander, and not even off by that much on top of that. The only thing holding her back ironically was the lack of an emotion suppression semblance that James had. Winter was already next in line for the position and highly ranked within the Blue Revolt as it was. All she was waiting for at this point was for James to step down, or to somehow perish.
They waited on top of the building for what felt like an hour. They had almost given up, but Weiss was determined. Penny grew increasingly bored, so she went to go get them some food in the form of bagels whereas Weiss kept waiting on guard. When she returned, the ginger sat criss-cross while Weiss was laid sprawled out up to the edge of their building. That hour passed, and the Blue Revolt finally revealed themselves. Weiss just knew that they were going to do something, and she watched with bated breath as about a dozen massive trucks with empty storage container transportation units attached to every one of them. Each of those trucks could hold about two containers, and every single container deposited there by the WFC was worth hundreds of thousands if not millions of lien. If the Revolt was able to get their hands on even one of them, she would worry about what they'd do to it. Then she imagined if they managed to get all of the containers, and she knew that something had to be done.
"It looks like your hunch was right," Penny said as she swallowed the rest of her bagel. "The Blue Revolt did plan to steal some of this dust. They won't get all of it, but with the number of trucks I see here I imagine it's gonna be most of it."
"That's not all," Weiss said with barely restrained anger. Her blue eyes scanned over her former allies until she came across a smaller woman wearing a bowler hat and twirling a parasol around as she sat on top of one of the trucks while the Blue Revolt were doing what they were ordered. She was not just present and just helping out, she was barking out orders and telling the Blue Revolt to search through each container, prioritizing certain types of dust over others. In the short span of twenty minutes, they had already managed to load six of the containers onto as many trucks while they watched in secret. "They are working with Neo Politan… but why? Why would they be working with a criminal like her? It doesn't make any sense, I need to get to the bottom of this."
"Woah there, I don't like the sound of that," Penny said, getting worried as she noticed Weiss clenching her fists in anger. "Those sound like fighting words to me. I hope you don't think you can just hop down there and fight them all on your own. I know you're strong, but in case you haven't noticed we are outnumbered by at least a few dozen people. We won't be able to fight against them all on our own. Not for long, anyway."
"The longer we sit here hesitating the more dust they are going to steal," Weiss pointed out. "We can't call the police either, it would take too long for them to get here and as soon as they hear the sound of sirens they will leave. The amount of containers they have stored is already too much, and this is just what we can see. Someone has to stop them, or at least hold them off until the police are notified and they can send fully trained huntsmen." She stood up, hovering over and jumping across a gap to the next container. Penny swore and chased after her, sneakily vaulting from one container to the next while keeping as quiet as possible.
"Weiss! Get back here! Are you crazy!?" Penny asked in a sharp whisper. They were directly above some of the members of the Blue Revolt now. They had to be extra careful as to not get detected. "We're going to get caught!"
"Then sit back and let me handle this," Weiss said, zeroing in on Neo as she yawned and stretched her arms up into the air. "I can sneak up on her and I'll take her hostage. You get involved only when you have to or start calling for help now. I'm going in there now."
"Weiss!" Penny called out to the Schnee as she jumped off of the container, landing directly behind Neo in the process. The criminal gasped in surprise as she looked up and saw a pair of icy blue eyes staring down at her. Before she could react, Weiss held the tip of her sword underneath Neo's chin, forcing her to stand up with her as she held her hands up in surrender.
"Really? A surprise attack?" Neo asked, clearly annoyed at being taken, hostage. "Agh, that's what I get for not sleeping tonight I guess. Oh well."
Nearby members of the Blue Revolt aimed at them both, and Weiss made sure she was visible from over Neo's shoulder. Annoyingly enough, she was almost as short as the diminutive woman was, forcing her to step to the side while still holding her weapon under Neo's chin to secure her as a hostage.
"Subordinates of the Blue Revolt!" Weiss called out, challenging the men and women aiming their weapons at her. "I am Weiss Schnee! Daughter of Jacques and Willow Schnee and sister to the respected Winter Schnee! Why would you work with scum like this!? This is not what the Revolt was created to do!"
"A little past that point now, ain't it?" Neo inquired.
"Shut up," Weiss said. "Answer me!" Weiss looked back to her former allies and gasped, they weren't even hesitating, they heard her name, recognized her, and understood her words. But when they aimed at her, they saw her as an enemy. Not even as a former ally.
"Traitor!" One of the men shouted back at her. "How dare you use your name and blood against us! You are nothing but a betrayer to your kind, and you will be treated like one!"
"Yeah! You have no hold over us anymore!" Another one screamed. "Why would we do anything you say? We owe you nothing!"
"We have orders to capture you-"
"You should be ashamed of yourself-"
"Why are you even here!?-"
The barrage of insults, questions, and shouting that were sent right back her way shocked Weiss. This wasn't the Blue Revolt she remembered, this wasn't what she spent most of her life dedicating everything she had into contributing to the future of their kind, the outlandish ones, or the outlanders. All she saw was hatred, jealousy, anger, betrayal, and even sorrow. It made her shake as she suddenly got nervous. Neo saw that and smirked as she pressed a button on her parasol.
"Ah!" Weiss yelped as she staggered back when Neo's parasol exploded outward, pushing her back and off the truck they were standing on. Her eyes shut instinctively as her back hit the ground, but she opened just as quickly. Just in time to see Neo jumping down at her with her rapier thrust forward, almost stabbing directly into her heart before Weiss rolled out of the way, creating a reverse gravity glyph beneath her and pushing herself back up to her feet. Myrtenaster flashed out, sparking against a blade of similar size of weight as a flurry of trades proceeded between two experts of the rapier. Neo however had the advantage, almost disarming her before flexibly flipping forward and wrapping her legs around Weiss' neck, twisting and throwing her into another container, stunning her for a moment.
"Man, it's so easy to get away with shit with you people." Neo taunted, flourishing her sword and shaking her head mockingly. "You are all so naivé, and I hardly even had to do anything this time! But you know what? Winter did say that she would reward anyone who brought you in so she could deal with you herself, but she never said anything about giving you up in one whole piece," licking her lips, Neo sadistically looked down at Weiss as she skipped toward her, smiling wildly as she blinked, her eyes changing color from pink and brown to red and magenta.
"Hey! Leave her alone!" Penny exclaimed, swooping in for above and forcing Neo to dodge back. A nearly invisible wire flicked out like a whip, whacking against Neo's aura and causing a bruise to grow on her cheek. Neo laughed as she faced down the ginger, rubbing her cheek in the process as she snapped her fingers. Penny stood against her, protecting Weiss as she recovered and glaring at the members of the Blue Revolt who surrounded her.
"Y' got one good one in, I wonder if you can do that again if you manage to get through all my men," Neo said. "Sick her boys!"
"Heh," Penny smirked as she crouched lower, her eyes glowed a bright green, and the invisible wires became clear to see as they glowed green as well. Swords manifested out of energy, and with a semblance shadowing that of telekinesis, Penny flicked one wrist forward and slashed one of the members of the Blue Revolt across the chest, cutting through their weapon and armour and taking them out of the fight instantly. Behind her, one of them tried to bash her head in from behind with a club, but Penny flipped back and dropped to the ground, spinning in a maneuver that looked more like she was dancing more than she was dodging an attack. Before the man knew it, his face bounced off of the ground and had his back stomped hard, forcing him to gasp out all of his air and lose consciousness instantly. From there, Penny's weapons and wires were like a whirlwind of green, sharp with energy from her semblance. Weiss watched in amazement as Penny easily dismantled a dozen members of the Blue Revolt with ease, and faced down Neo on her own.
"Ugh… why do I even bother trying to give the weak grunts a chance?" Neo complained as she held her blade in one hand, and her parasol in another. "I always end up having to deal with it myself."
Penny lunged at her first, using her semblance to strike at a distance. Neo counted about ten swords, each connected to wires enhanced by an aura that all connected to Penny's back. She ducked underneath the first and used her parasol and sword to block and deflect the rest while charging in close to fight Penny head-on. Seeing this, Penny jumped back, grabbing two of her swords in each hand and clashing with Neo while she lunged forward in a thrust. She twisted the sword to the side and slashed at her, but Neo was too quick. They came into a battle of swords, sparking with energy with each clash, but Neo was never hit. She dodged or deflected every attack that came her way. She was just too fast, but Penny managed to at least keep up, using her semblance to maneuver her blades in a whirlwind of cutting winds and forcing Neo to get away from her lest she got caught up in it.
Weiss dashed past her ally suddenly. "She's mine!" But when her blade pierced through Neo, the woman shattered into a million tiny pieces of glass. Gasping, Weiss looked over her shoulder and saw a silver blade tickle her chin, and Neo smirking at her.
"Now you know how it feels to have a blade at your neck."
Growling, Weiss smacked the sword away and continued her assault. At first, she was being beaten. Neo was just clearly more skilled than she was, she was better than her, and her semblance was difficult to deal with as every time Weiss thought she landed a hit, Neo would shatter into glass and flank her. However, when Weiss started to use her semblance and Penny continued to play the role of the support with her semblance, Neo started to get nervous. It would take too long for her to beat her, and she still figured that help was already on the way. That was when she got an idea.
Her parasol flicked forward and opened in Weiss's face, canceling one of her strength enhancement glyphs and sent her flying back into one of the containers. Penny called out to her friend but gasped as she watched Neo flick her parasol again, revealing the barrel of a gun.
"Hope you like sun tan's little Schnee, because I'm about to set off a bombing sun!"
Penny threw her semblance at Weiss, grabbing her and pulling her away right as the explosion ignited as Neo shot the storage container behind her. Desperately as the blast made its way toward them, Penny made her blades form a makeshift shield in front of her and Weiss. It was enough to prevent most of the damage from the explosion of elements, but not enough to stop the shockwave that threw her and Weiss into one of the trucks, slamming into it and down into the ground. Their aura's flickered on and off dangerously, indicating that they were both very low on it.
"Hah! Any longer and you two may have beaten me!" Neo exclaimed as she rematerialized in front of them, unhurt from the explosion. "But now you've just made me blow up an entire container of dust, and my boss isn't going to like hearing that. He's the sort that points out the bad in an ocean of good, now I have to listen to his bitching. You'll have to suffer for that, y'know?"
"You won't get away with any of this," Weiss said, forcing herself onto her feet as she held Myternaster in her unburned arm while the other hung limply from her side. "I am going to stop you! I am going to be the one that defeats you!"
"Yeah, yeah, I've heard that one before," Neo said as she flicked her parasol down at her, revealing the barrel of her gun. "And you know what I did to most of the other people who said that to me? Well, let me show you…"
Penny blocked the first three shots with her semblance before a fourth hit, hitting her instead of Weiss. Penny fell and gasped as her bright green aura flickered out. "Penny, no!"
"I-I'm fine," Penny said, taking cover behind the truck now. "No penetrations… but I'm out of aura, and I'm tired as hell. I'm afraid I won't be of much help anymore."
"And just like that, it's just you and me, little Schnee," Neo said as she slowly walked toward her. "I'll have to take you with me, maybe taking you will make Glenn happy. Kidnapping you might outweigh the loss of an entire storage container of dust, after all."
"Glenn?" Weiss asked. "Who is that?"
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Neo countered, aiming her sword at her. "Now, sit still and I won't have to hurt you too badly. In fact, everybody that didn't get their asses kicked, take whatever dust we have and get out of here! We should have enough to meet this month's deadline- Woah!"
Purple eyes and a head of blonde hair forced Neo to practically bend back as a fist sailed right over her nose. Yang had made a sudden appearance, making Weiss gasp in shock as she watched the blonde - who had activated her semblance much earlier this time around - and proceeded to pummel the surprised Neo. Despite her taunts, Neo had tired out from her fight with Penny and Weiss, allowing Yang to catch her off guard while she was already low on the aura. However, that didn't mean that she was completely done for. Slashing her sword across her body and catching the red-eyed Yang across the chest, Neo somersaulted backward and landed on top of another storage container full of dust, heaving air out of her lungs as she balanced in a stagger.
"You again blondie? Damn, you kids just keep coming out of the woodworks nowadays!" Neo exclaimed, spitting out a lob of spit and blood after Yang landed a thunderous right hook to her cheek just then. "I'd love to continue our little fight from last time Yellow, but right now I'm gonna have to split."
"No, you don't!" Yang shouted, thrusting her fist forward and firing Ember Celica.
"Yang no!" Weiss exclaimed, seeing it before Yang could.
"Ah, it's just too easy," Neo said as she caught the buckshot with her parasol, and deflected it to the container left of Yang. The blonde tanked it with her aura, and thanks to her semblance, managed to absorb the major bulk of it. It still dropped down to her hands and knees, however, and her semblance had too much power for her lowered aura to handle. It expelled out of her body and into the ground uselessly, as she was just too tired to be able to use it efficiently to attack Neo any further.
"Yang!" A boy exclaimed from behind, coming over and dropping next to his blonde friend. "I stayed back as you said, but I cannot help but get involved now. I'm afraid most of the criminals here have gotten away, after all."
"Sun." Yang grabbed the wide-eyed boy by the collar of his shirt. "Don't let them get away with this."
"Hm." Sun thought about it and nodded his head. "That is something I can do."
"Another blondie?" Neo taunted. "I already destroyed two containers of dust trying to get rid of you fucks and you just keep coming! How many more containers do I need to blow up to kill you guys?"
"You will not be able to detonate any more explosions." Sun Wukong said, cracking his neck as he began to walk slowly toward Neo and her remaining Blue Revolt members. Most of them were climbing into trucks to get away with the dust while the most capable stayed behind to assist Neo. Though, despite the overwhelming numbers disadvantage, Sun appeared to not be worried about it in the slightest. "I will stop you. Every single one of you is now under arrest," Sun added, reaching behind his back and pulling out a short red-blue baton which extended out into a full-sized staff. At the same time, Sun used his other hand to form a gesture, which started to glow gold as Sun's golden aura began to flare brightly.
"You can't fight them on your own!" Weiss shouted out in warning.
Sun looked over to the white-haired girl and smiled cheerfully. "Don't worry about me, future friend Weiss Schnee." He said as he turned back around, summoning six clones of himself out of his aura. The fact that his aura didn't look any less weak for it told of a massive aura reserve, perhaps just as much as Jaune Arc. "I am combat-ready."
Sun and his summoned clones charged forward and attacked the defending group of Blue Revolt members. They fired back at them in retaliation, but every bullet was deflected into the ground by six different staffs. Sun - the real one, was even more powerful than the rest of them. Even if a bullet landed, he didn't even flinch, he barely moved, he just took it and kept going. Yang, in her confusion, looked at his aura and did see that it was slowly, very slowly, depleting. But the blonde faunus didn't even look like he was even sweating from the exertion. His semblance was insanely powerful, as even the clones appeared to be just as strong as the original as they proceeded to beat down and defeat every single person that tried to attack them. As some of the trucks started to move, the main Sun noticed and turned his attention to them, as did the two of the other clones of his.
"Hm. By my calculations," Sun said as his eyes flashed gold, and his clones formed up beside him, all spinning their staffs in coalition. "The dust is better off destroyed than potentially used against us. I will destroy the trucks holding them, and anyone who gets in my way."
The two clones and Sun glowed even brighter, as did their staff. They started by twirling the weapons in their hands, seemingly charging some kind of attack. But at the last moment, the two clones merged back into Sun, giving him all of the power that they had generated. It was a clock that had just set off an alarm, for when Sun felt that he was ready to unleash his most powerful attack, he wore an excited smile on his face. He swung his staff across his body, unleashing a powerful slicing blast of energy that surged forward, cutting through the trucks and storage containers like they were nothing. Out of the nine trucks that started to leave, only six of them had been able to escape from the blast and into the city. It was regrettable, but Sun figured that he shouldn't chase them. He wouldn't be able to catch up anyway.
"Okay then," Neo hopped onto one of the other moving trucks. "I am not going to mess with that one. Not one bit. It just doesn't look fun at all." Escaping into the night, Sun realized too late that the main suspect had escaped. It was regrettable, but it was acceptable given the circumstances. The other clones all merged back into Sun, and the faunus looked over at the remaining members of the Blue Revolt who had just been left behind and continued to smile at them excitedly.
The Blue Revolt wisely surrendered.
"Wow!" Yang exclaimed, looking over Sun back and forth like he was a living weapon and she was Ruby. "How did you manage to do all of that!? Was that just your semblance!? How much aura do you have!? How many clones can you make?"
"I am not at liberty to answer those questions," Sun replied with a smile, gently pushing away Yang as blue and red lights flashed all around them. "But I'm afraid that I must go now. My mother's men have come to collect me. Go see your other friends," Sun said as he patted Yang on the shoulder. "I will be okay, but thank you for your concern."
Yang gave Sun a quick hug before he left, leaving the strange but very powerful faunus bashful as she turned back around and skipped off toward her friends, Weiss and Penny. The latter of the two gettings fixed up by medics that had been called in to tend to their wounds.
"Hey Sun," A familiar voice called out to him.
"Ah, Neptune," Sun called back, turning around to face him and saluting. "My partner from Mantle. I presume you are here to collect me?"
"I am," The blue-haired student said as he grabbed Sun by the arm and tugged him along. "We told you that you can't keep going out by yourself like this. You have to report your movements every half hour, we thought something had happened."
"No need to worry now," Sun said as he was pushed into the back seat of a car. "My friends needed my help."
"Hmph, yeah, sure." Neptune rolled his eyes as he got into the driver seat. "Keep calling them that."
"How are you doing?" Yang asked Weiss as she climbed up to sit next to her.
"As well as you could imagine," Weiss said with a wince as the medic beside her stitched an open wound closed located on the back of her shoulder. "Once my aura recovers, I shall make one myself quickly enough."
"That's good," Yang said, sighing out of relief. "Somehow, I knew by the sound of that explosion that you had to be involved somehow. Little did I know that you would be fighting a whole war in the single day that we left you alone."
"Sorry about that…'' Weiss said, hanging her head in shame. "I just… needed to confirm something for myself."
"Yeah," Penny piped in. "And my confirm something she means jumping into a whole battalion to fail a surprise attack on that Neo chick."
"I caught her off guard!" Weiss complained.
"Yeah? You caught her off guard?" Penny gestured around her. "Where is she then? Huh, Weiss? Where is Neo, the one you caught off guard so suddenly?"
Yang snorted when Weiss went red with embarrassment. She was still angry that Weiss had run away like that and ended up here at the docks. But she was happier that she was alive and well rather than hurt or worse, dead or captured. She didn't know what happened to traitors of the Blue Revolt, but she imagined that it wasn't anything good. They could have their well-needed talk after they got back to Beacon.
"And I'm Penny by the way," Penny said, introducing herself to Yang. "Penny Polendina, a new friend of Weiss. Wanna be pals?"
"After what just happened tonight?" Yang smirked, fist-bumping the ginger she had just met. "Hell yeah."
"Hah! I already like you more than Weiss."
"Excuse me!?"
"You're excused," A voice that wasn't Penny's said. Weiss, Yang, and Penny looked over to see Blake and Ruby making their way toward them. Ruby dashed forward and caught Yang in a hug, but the two sisters kept an eye on Weiss and Blake just in case. The two girls looked at each other for a tense thirty seconds before one of them gave in with a sigh. It was Weiss, who looked down at the ground as she spoke.
"Blake… I'm sorry. I didn't-"
"Nope," Blake held up a hand, cutting Weiss off. "I was worried about you, knowing that is as much punishment as you're going to get. Did you know how many hours we spent looking for you? Too many, we lost precious hours of studying and training, all because you decided to run instead of talking to us. So starting now, you are going to start talking to us," Blake added faster than Weiss could reply. "You will not keep any more secrets from us, as I won't hold any secrets from any of you. We are going to be friends, whether you like it or not."
"Blake…" Weiss looked at the Belladonna in shock. Blake looked back at her and huffed, moving forward and taking one of her hands in hers.
"I understand I am not the… easiest person to get along with," Blake continued. "But even after what happened, I want to be able to call you a teammate. Will you allow me the pleasure?"
"Hmph," Weiss sighed, relieved. "A Belladonna, groveling to someone like me. I am heavily flattered," she teased. "But yes. Jokes aside. Yes, I think we may be able to work something out."
"Oh, you have to be shitting me." One of the cops that had arrived at the crime scene rudely interrupted. The five girls looked to the intruder, and one of them started laughing maniacally upon recognizing him. "Ruby fucking Rose, of course, you are involved somehow. How is it that everything I do nowadays has something to do with you?"
"To be fair, Officer Seth," Ruby flared her eyelashes at the man tauntingly. "I have nothing to do with it this time. I came to the party late. It was my sister this time."
"Dear God, you've multiplied." Seth sighed explosively, rubbing a hand down his face. "Try and be a good role model, please. I don't want to have to keep sending tickets that are never going to be paid to someone who is never going to pay them."
"I don't even know why you try anymore," Ruby replied. "My mom sorta grew up in a bandit tribe. Giving almost anything to anyone is seen as taboo to her. Especially money."
"Whatever, I'll just pretend I didn't hear that," Seth said, shaking his head in dismay. "But you should all know that one of the teachers from Beacon is coming to pick you up, so make sure you stay in this spot."
The four girls froze suddenly, the warmth of their reunion dying an ugly death.
"W-Which teacher?" Yang stammered.
They got their answer as a jet black Acura NSX came to a skidding stop not too far from where they were sitting. Penny was left confused as to why her new friends were so nervous all of a sudden but realized why when she saw what kind of woman stepped out of the car. Cinder Fall glared daggers at them, her hair was frizzled, her orange eyes were narrowed and red, and her dress was still wrinkled. Likely because of how early it still was in the morning, and also because it was three in the morning.
"Students," Cinder hissed at them as her heels clicked against the ground as she made her way toward them. "Who, why, how, and when did this happen?"
"So uh, I don't know them," Penny said suddenly, scooting away from the other four girls. However, Weiss didn't let her. She grabbed her by the ear, and that was when she knew.
She wasn't going to be saved from the wrath of Professor Cinder Fall despite not even being an official student of Beacon.
Later the next night. Neopolitan was counting the amount of dust that she had been able to procure with the help of the Malachite's men as well as the members from the Blue Revolt. Seeing that the numbers were not just on par, but well above made her sigh a great sigh of relief. She sat back in a chair and propped her legs up on the table. She was still sore and a little beat up from her scuffle with three huntresses in training, but she would be fully recovered soon.
"I must admit," a man's voice echoed into the warehouse from behind her. "You have slightly impressed me this time."
"Woah!" Neo exclaimed, turning around in her seat before deciding that it was better to stand up and at attention. "I didn't expect you three to come around so suddenly."
"Come now, Neo Politan, it wasn't as if we were trying to hide." Out of the shadows, a tall man with pale blonde hair and green eyes stepped forward. Both of those eyes were glowing faintly, and the temperature of the room immediately and gradually increased the longer that he was present. He looked menacing, he was big but just perfectly lean enough to balance out his entire body. He wore a black vest with purple trims over a beige and tight shirt which was tucked into black pants which were also tucked into knee-high and armored black boots which made his footsteps sound louder. The two on either side of him demanded almost as much attention, one was dark-skinned with black-blue hair, wearing a white long coat with a black shirt with blue accents with pants and boots of a similar style. The other was a dark tanned skin girl with the sides of her head buzzed down to the roots. The front of her dark brown hair was bleached, and her pink eyes sparked with yellow lightning as she glared her down. She wore a yellow jacket over a black sports bra, with pants and boots once again of similar styles. The three of them together and walking toward Neo made her step back and begin to sweat. Though her attention was much more focused on Glenn Warlock himself, the boss she had previously mentioned she had to the girls at the docks.
"I thought you would have procured much more dust out from the docks," Glenn pointed out.
"Well, that's what happens when you force me to work with those idiots from the Blue Revolt," Neo remarked. "I could have done it a lot better and a lot quieter if I was able to use my men."
"Yes, yes, spare me your excuses, they rather bore me." Glenn sighed. Neo began to sweat as Glenn summoned a fistful of fire while he continued. "You will continue to work with them as long as I deem it necessary. I have plans, Neo. Plans that need to be carried out if we are to both get what we want." The threat was clear, Neo nodded her head silently, bowing her hat over her eyes to stop the fear from being too obvious. It was useless, however. Glenn knew he had her right by the metaphorical balls.
"Continue to cooperate and everything will be fine," Glenn simply added, turning around to leave her to her own devices. "Marrow, Harriet, we are done here. Dear Neo won't be an issue we'll have to constantly correct anymore."
And there finishes Volume 1 of YBWR. Man, what a journey that led us here. To ward off any confusion, Glenn is essentially male Glynda, and he is what you can imagine, pretty much. With the role, reversal idea came a number of required genderbends in order to make the story as different as it could be from the canon show. I don't want everything to be easily predictable, and as I said, YBWR can essentially be boiled down to a grand rewrite of the original show. I will make an attempt to make it more than that, but unless I just want to create new arcs out of thin air, I will continue to make YBWR as I am doing now. I am curious as to what you all would want from this story, and since I have finally completed Volume 1, I can finally ask what you guys would want for the next Volume. I still have to plan it and everything, and that will take some weeks to mentally get into my head, but before that, I am going to be finishing up the last 10 chapters of my own original book that I am writing probably as you are reading this in the future. Su(o)n's of Amon is the title if any of you are curious. So I am going to be pretty absent from making fanfiction for the next few weeks in order to focus on that final stretch. I aim to finish it before April, so I am going to have to get started almost right away. Look at the bright side though, when I get back, I'll be an even better writer than before. Bear with me, and I will come back to blow you away!
Until then, Probably don't expect the next chapter until at best late March and at worst April, or even May for that matter if I have to plan so much for YBWR and my other fanfictions.
Before I go, thank you all again for supporting this story and telling me what you think. I don't say that a lot nowadays anymore, but I really do appreciate every single review, follow, and favorite I see popping up in my emails.
I will be back as soon as I can manage!
