Chapter 10: Raging Sea – Part IV

Wakoku, the undeveloped island to the east…

It is a chaos time to this isolated world. The whole island was separated into twenty four nations battling for supremacy. For hundreds of years, the flames of battle raging across the length and breadth of the region, and young people had to leave their home and join the civil war.

Soukai Nation, in Yaenami Village…

"It wasn't a good day for our village which located next to the sea. In the morning, the sky was covered by dark clouds and the wind was strong and agitated the ocean. I was watching all these in the hot spring at the back yard of my house…"

A young girl who was looking at the sea said to herself. She was leaning on a big boulder on the edge of the hot spring. The girl was beautiful with slim figure, and looks about 17 years old. Her hairs are short with light red color, and her cyan eyes looks concerned about the abnormal signs of the sea.

"I like peaceful sea. My village was disturbed by the war, and villagers were suffered. I hope the whole world can be peaceful like the sea. However, the sea looks unrested today as well! My strong sixth sense tells me that something unusual will happen today."

Suddenly, a voice was calling the young girl behind, "Hinata! Are you there? We got a problem!"

Another shorter girl with blonde hair and a long ponytail ran to the hot spring and called the young girl's name.

"Tobari, I'm not Hinata anymore. I am Hinowa." The young girl turned around and said to the girl with blonde hair.

"Oops, I called your old name again!" Tobari felt embarrassed about this.

"What's the matter?" The young girl came near her friend and asked.

"Oh, this morning when I was doing my awesome training on the beach as usual, I saw a tall black figure came out of the sea and walked onto the beach. That figure was pretty tall and strong. Looks like he was wearing heavy armor and a helmet that looks like a samurai. He also has low and scary breathing sound!" Tobari told her experience on the beach to her friend, "I wonder where did he come from."

"Really?" The young girl was surprised. She stood up quickly and got a towel and cleaned her body. Then she came out of the hot spring and began putting her clothes on.

"We have to check it out!" The young girl said seriously, because what Tobari said was qualified to her sense.

"Do we have to do that?" Tobari said in worry, "I was scared about his breathing sound, Hinata!"

"I told you again, Tobari. I am not Hinata anymore. I am Hinowa!" The young girl reminded her friend.

"That was so complicated!" Tobari was unhappy about that, "what made you change your name?"

"My mom's ambition was to let her name be known all over. I decide to let her last wish come true." The young girl recalled her mom who was killed in a battle with Tenrou Nation's Army. "I will live as Hinowa, and end this civil war. A world which makes blood relatives to fight and kill each other should disappear!"

Two girls walked down the stairs on the hill and headed to the beach.

On the beach…

Darth Vader walked out of the sea and stood onto the beach. He looked around and found he was at an unfamiliar region. After he found he was the only one on this beach, Vader then took out a communicator and called the Devastator.

"Lord Vader, are you Okay?" Piett's voice came out of the communicator.

"I'm fine. How is the Devastator?" Vader asked Piett.

"Everything was fine, so please give your location."

Vader gave his location to Piett, and Piett said the Devastator will come soon. The Sith Lord then looked around this place again. The landscape on the sea shore recalled Vader Scarif which was destroyed by the death star. However, the only difference was the plant varieties here are native to the temperate climate. Vader also saw some native's wooden houses and terraced fields on mountains. They look very small, old, and cannot withstand a single blow.

The Sith Lord then turned around and went to the sea. He stood on the top surface of a rock and reached out his right hand to the sea. Few seconds later, a broken TIE Advanced X1 moved out of the sea and floating in the sky. Vader was lifting it with his force and put it on the beach slowly.

On the hill…

Two girls are almost arrived the beach, Tobari suddenly shouted to her friend, "look! What's he doing!"

"Is that the one who came out of the sea?" Said the young girl when she was looking at the Sith Lord who was checking his TIE Advanced X1.

"It is him, but…Where did he get that big strange thing?" Tobari was scared by Vader's TIE Advanced X1. This was the first time she saw a modern technological TIE fighter.

"Oh, I just remembered!" Tobari suddenly recalled something, "Last night I woke up by a big 'Boom!' It seemed that something fell into the sea." Tobari felt that was Vader's TIE Advanced X1.

"I see…" The young girl seemed understood, "We can just go and ask about that."

"But…I'm afraid!" Tobari was worried.

"Come on..." The young girl didn't feel anything wrong, "it's not good to visit someone without saying hello."

"Err…" Tobari was not brave enough. She was nervous and shook her head. The young girl had no choice, so she decided to go to the beach alone.

"What happened next became the inveterate experience in my life…"

Darth Vader suddenly turned around to the sea and took out his lightsaber. Since then, the sea wind got stronger and birds flew into the sky in fear. Later, an earthquake occurred and the surface of the sea in front of the beach started waving.

"What happened!?" Two girls were terrified by the earthquake and both of them grabbed the nearest tree to hold still. Tobari heard something and looked to the sea.

"Oh no!" What Tobari saw made her totally shocked. A gigantic monster, hundreds of meters high, with dark colored skin, a sharp triangle shaped head, four big red eyes, and full of teeth like saber came out of the sea. The monster waved its two strong claws violently, and looked like it was hungered for fresh meat!

"I…is that…Kaiohkun?" The young girl seemed familiar about this monster.

"How did you know?" Tobari was surprised and asked her friend.

"The Elder told me that Kaiohkun has power to destroy the whole world! It has already disappeared for a thousand years!" The young girl said. She couldn't imagine that the abnormal feeling she had this morning was caused by such a dangerous monster.

"We gotta do something! Tobari, you go and tell all the villagers to escape!" The young girl shouted to her friend.

"But…what about you?" Tobari could not left her friend before.

"Don't worry about me!" The young girl shouted. She then ran to the beach hurriedly.

"All right then. Please be careful!" Tobari answered and got back to the village.

"That time, I made the stupidest choice in my life…"

Darth Vader held his lightsaber and faced to the Kaiohkun. The huge monster looks hungry, but it didn't even pay attention to the Sith Lord. It seemed that it prefer the residents living on the island. Kaiohkun then started moving to the shore slow but forcefully. There were many fishermen working in the sea. They were horrified by Kaiohkun and jumped into the sea to escape.

The young girl went onto the beach and stood not far behind the Sith Lord. She was trying to ask Darth Vader to escape with her, but what she saw made her scared. The Kaiohkun created a strong tsunami that came to the sea shore, and can swept her and the Sith Lord easily!

"No!" The young girl thought it's over. However, what happened next totally amazed her. Darth Vader bowed a little and spread his arms. The huge wave suddenly stopped at a distance not far from him. It looked like the wave struck an invisible barrier and cannot move forward! Vader used his Force Shield and blocked the strong waves caused by the monster.

"Un…unbelievable!" The young girl sat down on the beach. She couldn't imagine there was someone in this world have power to subside a tsunami. At this time, the Kaiohkun arrived at the beach and found these two little figures.

The monster then opened its huge claw and slapped to the Sith Lord. "Watch out!" The young girl shouted.

"Pop!" The monster stroke the beach and created a loud noice. The young girl was so scared that she closed her eyes and didn't think what will happen to the Sith Lord.

After a few seconds, she opened her eyes slowly. "Ah!" The young girl was horrified because she saw the scary face of the Kaiohkun. The monster was looking at her!

At the same time, in Yaenami Village…

"Wh…what is that thing?" Most of the villagers saw Kaiohkun, they were scared and didn't know what to do. Tobari arrived at the village, but she didn't stop and hurried to a private class located at the edge of the village. There was a calm and brave young man with black hair and brown eyes standing next to the classroom and dredging the crowds.

"Everyone keep calm! Go to the mountains!" The young man was trying to command villagers to escape. Since then, another young man with shorter hair ran hurried next to him.

"Kumehachi, how is everything going?" The young man asked.

"Damn it Hisame! My father was drunk again and cannot wake up!" Kumehachi said worriedly.

"That's not good! Here, let me help you to move your father out." Hisame decide to help Kumehachi's father to escape. At this time, Tobari came next them.

"Tobari! What happened?" Hisame asked his friend.

"Hinowa and I saw the monster on the way to the beach. It's Kaiohkun!" Tobari said breathlessly.

"Kaiohkun! How can this be possible?" Both Hisame and Kumehachi was shocked because Kaiohkun had already disappeared for a thousand year.

"I have no idea either!" Tobari shook her head, "Hinowa let me to come to tell you and other villagers to escape. She went to the beach to help a stranger in black who was coming from the sea this morning."

"A stranger in black?" Hisame felt uncertain about what Tobari said.

"We can't let Hinowa do this alone. She needs help!" Kumehachi was worried about Hinowa.

"Leave it to me! I'll go back for her." Tobari said and decided to help Hinowa.

On the beach…

Kaiohkun extended its claw to the young girl who was sitting on the beach alone. The girl was such terrified and unable to move. Suddenly, her mother's vision appeared in her brain, and the young girl somehow felt power came out of her body.

"Mom, please give me power!" The young girl became braver and stronger. She stood up and took her sword out. By the time the Kaiohkun's claw almost reached her, she slashed the monster's claw swiftly.

The blade broke into many fragments with a click, and the young girl caught by the monster before she thought anything.

"AHHHHHH!" The young girl was struggling painfully. Kaiohkun's grabbing was so tight that made her feel like she was nearly crashed!

"Let me go!" The young girl shouted, but it was useless. Kaiohkun took the poor girl in front of its face, and looked this little prey up and down. Then it opened its mouth and decide to swallow this girl.

"That time, I thought my end was coming…"

The young girl looked at those Kaiohkun's sharp teeth, and knew she was hopeless. She closed her eyes and waited for her death. At this time, her friend Tobari arrived, and saw what was happening.

"No, Hinowa!" Tobari found her friend was holding by Kaiohkun, she didn't know what to do. But before she had any thoughts, a dark shadow appeared in front of her.

Darth Vader came in front of Kaiohkun, he took out his lightsaber and turned it on. A dark red blade came out with disturbing sound.

"Wow!" Tobari saw the lightsaber blade. She was such amazed by a sword with shining straight blade and stepped back a little further.

Since then, Darth Vader flied to the Kaiohkun in a fast speed that Tobari can hardly saw. By the time Kaiohkun almost eat the young girl, Vader reached the chin of this huge monster. The Sith Lord outstretched his left hand and clenched into a fist.

Tobari's eyes widen, she couldn't believe what she just saw. The Kaiohkun suddenly shut its mouth, but that was not in its purpose. Some invisible power hold its mouth and shut it down. Vader then injected his lightsaber blade into the Kaiohkun's throat. After a quick slash, a long and deep cutting wound appeared on the Kaiohkun's neck. The Kaiohkun fell down with a loud scary yelling, and opened its claw which was holding the young girl. The poor girl dropped down and fell onto the soft beach.

"Hinowa!" Tobari saw this and ran to her friend. By the time she reached her, she found her friend was already lost consciousness, and her body covered all over with wounds. But luckily, she was still alive!

"Oh my goodness!" Tobari then tried to wake her friend, "Hinowa! wake up!"

"Errr…" The young girl finally woke up and found she was lying in Tobari's chest.

"To…Tobari, Am I…still alive?" The young girl asked her friend weakly.

"Yes, you are safe now!" Tobari said with tears in her eyes.

"Ah…thanks." The young girl was comforted. However, she suddenly looked so scared and she was watching behind her friend.

"Oops!" Tobari had some cold feeling came behind her as well. She turned around and found the Kaiohkun was already dead, and the black tell figure she saw this morning was holding his magic red sword and standing on the Kaiohkun's body. His black machine eyes were looking at her and her friend.

"That black samurai, he killed Kaiohkun, and saved me and my nation…"

The young girl stood up under her friend's help. Two girls then bowed to the Sith Lord to thank him for the rescue.

Vader didn't say a word. He saw these are just two little native girls of this planet, so he turned his lightsaber off and went back to his TIE Advanced X1.

"W…wait!" The young girl saw the Sith Lord was going to leave. She began worried and started running to him, but she suddenly felt pain came out of her body and fell down.

"Hinowa!" Tobari ran to her and help her got up.

"No, please…don't go…don't leave us!" The young girl outstretched a hand to the back of the Sith Lord and tried to ask him to stay, but Vader didn't even looked at her. Suddenly, a strange noice came from the sky that sounds like a machine.

"What…what is that?" Tobari was scared again, and looked around to see what happened.

"There…" The young girl said when she was looking at the sky. The cloud that covered the sky was scattered, left a huge triangle shaped monster stopped on top of them. That strange thing looked like a city, but nothing biological feeling came from it. There was a bridge on top of it that looked like princess Rinzu's castle.

"AHHHHHHH!" Tobari was amazed by the Imperial I-Class Star Destroyer and cannot stop watching it. Darth Vader stood on top of his TIE Advanced X1, and few minutes later, he and the fighter floated up and flied into a big square hole at the boom of Devastator under several TIE fighter's protection.

The Devastator then started its engine and flied to the direction of the sky, and left Tobari and her friend stood on the beach and looking at all this in surprise. In the Devastator, Darth Vader went into the bridge and gave the order to admiral Piett to cycle the planet and do some research.

"Yes my lord!" Piett then started execution. The Devastator flied out of the planet's atmosphere and began its first mission about this new planet.

This evening, in Yaenami Village…

In order to celebrate the death of Kaiohkun, the villagers held a campfire party. The body of Kaiohkun were guarded by Soukai nation's ashigaru, because most of its body parts worth a lot of money. The young girl's friends sat next to the campfire and talked about today's experience. They were all members of Elder's Class.

"Tobari, did you really see what happened?" Suzumru, a short teen boy with dark-color and cheek-length hair asked Tobari.

"Hum! Hum!…" Tobari put her bowl and chopsticks on the ground, and stood up proudly. Then she pulled out a stick with a burning top from the campfire, and waved it like Darth Vader's lightsaber and said, "by the time Hinowa was almost eaten by the Kaiohkun, the tall samurai in black armor who came from the sea took out his magic red flame sword and flied in a fast speed to the monster, and cut its neck with one slash. Then the Kaiohkun dead and Hinowa was rescued!"

"Wow!" Everyone was proud of the Sith Lord.

In Elder's Class…

The young girl was bandaged and sleeping on the bed. The Strange Elder finished healing the girl and stood up from the chair near the bed. There was a man with short black hair and brown eyes stood before him next to the door. His name is Fumio.

"Poor girl, she lost her parents since she was little, and nearly eaten by the sea monster today." The Elder said sadly.

"By the way, do you know who killed Kaiohkun?" The Elder asked Fumio.

"Oh, Tobari said it was a tall samurai in black armor. That samurai has a sword with a blade that glowed red." Said Fumio.

"I see." The Strange Elder believed what Fumio said. He had just checked the Kaiohkun's body, and found the wound on it looked does not like a cutting wound. The wound was burned and carbonized. He couldn't imagine what sort of weapon can create such a strange wound.

"There is something else I have to do. I'll leave this girl to you." The Strange Elder said and going to leave.

"No problem!" Fumio promised.

After the Strange Elder left, Fumio suddenly heard someone crying in a weak sound. He turned around and found that was the young girl. She woke up just before.

"Hinowa! What's the matter?" Fumio came next to the girl.

"He saved us…All of us…" The young girl said sadly, "but…I didn't even get his name…"

"Hinowa…" Fumio looked at the young girl painfully.

I wrote this chapter after read Hinowa Ga Crush!, the continuation of Akame Ga Kill!. Hinowa will be an important character in my story, and there will be more stories in Wakoku. I came out the idea of Kaiohkun according to Ender from Darth Vader: Dark Visions #1 and Knifehead from Pacific Rim.
