I refuse to let this world burn. I've seen the fanfiction, the ways people have tried to fix it before. None of them were willing to change major plot points, lest they lose their foreknowledge. Well, I say screw it and screw you. I'm gonna fix it, and take over the world.

As it turns out, the character of Death from Harry Potter is real, but not in the way most people think. I've met the man, well, being, and let me tell you what a trip that was.

Firstly, they are a they. Neither male nor female, they don't have any distinguishably gendered features. Instead, their features shift constantly. Sometimes a young person, sometimes older, and sometimes the rotting features of someone long dead.

They told me they were neither Life nor Death, but in fact, they were the embodiment of Magical Existence.

Their power came from Magic, and magical beings. In a symbiotic relationship not unlike the House-elves, Witches and Wizards drew their power from this deity, and in return, were expected to offer a piece of that magic back on certain occasions, imbued with a part of themselves. Personality, passion, everything that makes life worth living.

But the rituals and spells needed to keep this relationship functioning were outlawed in the Wizengamot in the year 1970, for the knowledge of why those rituals were performed had been lost to time.

By the time that Harry Potter faced down Voldemort for the last time, too much damage had been done, and the wizards were losing their magic.

The deity had tried multiple times to change the past, but all previous attempts had failed. And so, they brought in me. Someone knowledgeable about the immediate future of this world, but willing to throw all that out of the window for the chance to truly FIX IT.

Enter me.

"Alright, I'll go in and change things, but I'm gonna need a few things, as well as some help. Also, you need a name, in case I need to contact you. I think I'll call you...Kronos. Similar to the Lord of Time, yeah?"

The being nodded. "Your demands?"

My grin would have terrified most, but the being, Kronos, leaned into my energy, ready to get to work.
