"I had no right to claim him, I knew it. But in a solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation he was to me." ―Madeline Miller

Pompous jerk, of course he was named after a constellation. He looked at her with amusement. "Granger is that what you think of me?" His eyes sparkling in the evening sky. She had the decency to blush in embarrassment. "You did ask me what my first impression of you was." Hermione answered with a coy smile.
"You said 'was' your impression… what about now.. what do you think of me, I am not so much of a jerk." Draco teased and he adjusted to find a more comfortable spot on the blanketed ground.
"I was going to say not as pompous." She teased him back. Draco started poking her sides to make her squirm and giggle.
"Sneaky witch." Draco said with a laugh. They settled back to look at the stars. Draco had taken Hermione to his favorite place in the Manor gardens to show her the constellation he was named after. The sky was a deep sapphire color as the sun had just sunk down in the western sky. The stars were appearing, glittering and shining against to blue black backdrop.
Draco called Hermione's attention. "There he is, the dragon." Pointing to the constellation.
"Impressive." Hermione smiled at him. Draco cheeks tinged pink. "I have something for you. You don't have to wear it but I want you to keep it." He pulled out a silver dragon charm on a silver chain. Hermione sat up and inspected the charm. The dragon was holding a crystal that reflected the moonlight.
"It's so beautiful, of course I will wear it." Hermione hooked the chain around her neck. "How does it look?" She asked.
"Stunning." Was all Draco could say before he pulled her into a passionate kiss.
They are ready to start. A familiar voice said from behind. Hermione just watched as the sun set and the sky darkened. "Mom, it's time." Lyra called out again to her mother. Hermione turned towards her daughter giving her a sad smile. She then put on a brave face as the two made their way down towards the gardens. Lyra was the image of her Mother with her wild curly hair that she tended to wear half up to keep it out of her face. Scorpius, her twin, was very much the image of his Father. Aside from the fact that his eyes were chestnut colored like his Mum's.
Once in the Manor gardens, in what became his second favorite place only to being in her arms, the small group gathered under the star studded sky. Hermione came to stand at the head of the attendees. She took off the dragon necklace Draco had given her years ago in that very spot when their romance was just beginning to blossom. "Thank you all for coming, as you know Draco was named after the constellation, which if you look right there, you can just make it out." She giggled causing the group to do the same. Hermione took a deep sigh. "I had no right to claim him, I knew it. But in a solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation he was to me."
A tear fell from her face landing on the dragon charm she cupped in her hand. "No one would understand but I was gifted a piece of the heavens. Quick with a quip and smooth of tongue. Draco was like no other and our love was something that happens when the stars align. When worlds collide. When hearts are open. When it is blessed by the universe. Draco was and will always be my true love. He supported my dreams, never questioned my ambitions, quelled my self doubts. We built a family together, adding to the love we had. We honor him today by sending him home." She finished addressing the gathering.
"I will always love you Draco, always." She whispered to the silver dragon in her hands. As the tears fell on the charm it started to come alive. Stretching and flapping its wings, it released the crystal that it was holding. Giving a few nuzzles to Hermione's palm it started to flap it's wings, flying upward. Higher and higher it went till it blended into the star filled night.
