{Knock Knock}

Minato quickly woke up from the sound of knocking.

"What in the world...what time is it?"

Minato looked over to his alarm clock.

[4:00 AM]

"The hell? Who would be knocking on doors at this hour."

{Knock Knock}

Minato sighed annoyingly as he got out of his bed and he slowly made his way to his front door.

"Who is it?"

Minato asked

"Sensei it's me, Kakashi."

Said the Jonin.

"Kakashi?"

Minato opened the door to reveal Kakashi and a rather sleepy looking Sai.

Kakashi was wearing his brand new Jonin flak jacket indicating his new status as a sensei. While Sai was only wearing a black sweater, a leaf village branded diaper, and some slippers.

"Hey Sensei, I'm sorry to bother you this early in the morning but I need your help."

Kakashi explained to Minato.

"Of course what can I help you with?"

Minato responded to the Jonin.

"Could you babysit Sai for today? I need to meet with my students today and I need to set up my training exercise for today and Anko is on an assignment still."

"So you are becoming a sensei then, dang it feels good to see one of my students passing become a sensei, It's almost enough to make an old man cry!"

Minato said happily.

"Well celebrations are gonna have to till after training."

Kakashi said.

"Right later, and yes I'll look after Sai I think he'd be happy to play with Naruto."

Minato rubbed Sai's head.

"Mr. Kashi go?"

Sai asked his adoptive father.

"Only for a few hours then I'll be back to pick you up I promise."

Kakashi said to the boy.

Mr.Kashi come back...I no wan be alone again."

Said the groggy toddler.

Kakashi picked up Sai.

"You won't be alone again...I promise."

Kakashi said as he handed Sai to Minato.

"Also here is his backpack, it should have everything he needs you know diapers, wipes, and a sedative."

Kakashi said to the now alarmed Minato.

"A sedative!"

Minato shouted.

Kakashi sighed as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Yeah, it's only used as a last resort for when he can't be broken out of an episode, we only had to use these things in two different instances."

Kakashi said as he handed Sai's diaper bag to Minato.

"He has it bad... hopefully it'll be something he'll eventually forget as he gets older."

Minato started instinctively rubbing the boy's back.

"Yeah I hope so too... well I better get going I'll come grab him right after training."

With that said Kakashi jumped to the rooftops and he started running for the training field.

Minato sighed as he closed his front door and started carrying Sai back into his bedroom.

"Alright then where are you gonna sleep at? Can't put you in the crib Naruto's there."

Minato then looked over to his son to see the boy was drooling heavily.

"Plus I don't think you feel like taking a swim tonight...I guess you can lay in my bed with me then."

Minato laid Sai on the bed and Minato laid down a short distance away from him.

"Alright it's still early so maybe I can sneak in a couple more hours of sleep."

Minato closed his eyes and he quickly went back to sleep.

Some hours later Minato woke up and he saw that the sun was out.

"Well time to get up."

When the father tried to get up he felt something weighing him down.

"What the?"

Minato glanced over to his left and he saw that Sai was unconsciously clinging onto his arm.

"Guess he's a hugger."

Minato said as he was going to attempt to pry the toddler without waking him but as soon as Minato tried to move his arm Sai would whimper.

"Okay okay shh don't cry."

Minato said as he stroked the boy's head causing Sai's whimpers to stop.

"Okay, I gotta figure out how to do this...maybe if I make a clean switch."

Minato reached into his drawer and grabbed his titular tri edge kunai."

"Man, if Kushina was alive to see me do this, she'd slap me to next week."

Minato threw his kunai at a wall in the living room, once he instantly flashed to the marked position Minato quickly grabbed a roll of paper towels and he threw his kunai into his bedroom to which he then flashed to and he quickly slid to roll of paper towels into Sai's arms.

"Mmmm."

Sai groaned a bit in his sleep as his grip tightened on the paper towels but he quickly got comfortable and slept peacefully.

Minato breathed a sigh of relief as he wiped his brow.

"Although a bit dramatic it still got the job done...both of them are still sleeping...maybe I can have some me time."

Minato left the room and he quietly closed the door.

"It's been awhile since I had this much time for myself. The first thing I'm gonna do is... probably take a shower it's been a few days since I've done that."

Minato walked to the bathroom and he quickly showered, once he was done Minato sat in his recliner and started watching some TV.

"There we are, I'm all relaxed and comfortable."

"Dada! Dada!"

Naruto yelled out for his father.

Minato sighed.

"Damn, I spoke too soon.

Minato sighs as he hops out of his chair and proceeds to walk to his bedroom.

"Dada!"

Naruto says happily as he raises his arms to Minato.

At that point Minato's heart instantly melted.

"Morning my little Naru-sun!!"

,Minato picked up his son and he gently swung him around

"Ha ha ha ha Dada dada!!"

Naruto squealed happily, the loud noise the blond boy was giving off woke up Sai

"Mmm Mr.Kashi?"

"Uh oh, we accidentally woke up Sai.

Sai sat himself up and after rubbing his eyes the boy looked around him.

"(Well he's not crying or freaking out, that's good.)"

Minato thought to himself.

"Morning kiddo, did you sleep well? You were up pretty early."

Minato asked the boy, Sai answered with a nod.

"I sleep good...where Mr.Kashi?"

Sai asked.

"He had to go teach kids how to be ninja, but he'll be back later though I promise."

Minato explained as he quickly shut his eyes fully expecting for the two year to burst into tears but there were no cries heard.

Minato slowly peeked at Sai to see that the boy was perfectly calm.

"You okay Sai?"

Minato asked.

"I okay."

Sai replied.

"Ah...uh...great... remember he said he will be back, till then you can have some fun with me and Naruto."

Minato said as he patted Sai's back.

"Pay pay!!"

Naruto shouted.

"Okay..I pway with Naruto."

Sai said quietly.

"Great, but before that I need to change Naruto's diaper it feels like he's being weighed down by it."

Minato grabbed a pack of diapers from beside his bed and laid Naruto down on the bed.

"Ai ai pay pay!"

Naruto reached out to Sai as he started crawling to him.

"Hold on there little guy you two will have your playdate here in a sec."

Minato flipped Naruto on his back again and started unbuttoning the flap on Naruto's orange footed pajamas.

"Come on Naruto stay still don't you want to be clean."

Minato said as he removed the dirty diaper despite Naruto's constant kicking.

"Ha ha ha!"

Naruto merely giggled excitedly as he thought this was all a game.

Sai merely observed the whole display and he didn't understand why Naruto was having fun during a diaper change.

"Ah ha! I finally got you!"

Minato shouted as he managed to get Naruto wiped down and in a clean diaper.

"You put up a bit of a fight but as usual Daddy reigns supreme!"

Minato exclaimed as he earned a pout from Naruto even though neither of the blonds had any clue what they're even competing for but they do know that there are a clear winner and loser.

"No need to get mad because I'm the best."

Minato said as he taped up the used diaper into a ball and attempted to toss it in a nearby garbage pail which he ended up missing.

"Did I say best? What Daddy meant to say was he's the most average."

Naruto and Minato started laughing.

Sai continued staring at the father and son, he never has this much fun when he gets his diaper changed whenever he's with Kakashi or Anko.

"Sorry about that delay Sai, do you need a change?"

Minato asked as he felt around the boy's diaper.

"You do, but no need to worry though, I'll get you cleaned up in no time."

Minato said as he went to go grab Sai's backpack.

"S sowy."

Sai said quietly.

"Sorry? sorry for what?"

Minato walked back to his bed where Sai was sitting.

"N nod pose use daipy pose be big."

Sai stammered out with tears in his eyes.

"Hey hey it's alright, you're not even three years old yet most kids aren't potty trained at your age."

Minato as he gently laid Sai on his back and he started untapping the toddler's diaper.

"You'll learn how to use the potty at your own pace."

Minato removed Sai's used diaper and the man was shocked at what he saw.

"Oh god, that's some serious diaper rash"

Minato said, shocked at the discoloration and slight blistering of Sai's posterior.

"Mr.Kashi say I haf daipy rash."

Sai explained to Minato

"No kidding do Anko and Kakashi change your diapers often enough?"

Sai nodded.

"Mr.Kashi and Ms.Anko change my daipy...bad man not want me to use daipy bad man hit me."

Sai said to Minato.

"(Of course it's all Danzo's fault I should slap myself for even considering any other person.)"

"Mr.Kashi haf my daipy cream there."

Sai pointed to his backpack.

Minato dug in Sai's diaper bag and took out a tube of rash cream.

"Extra strength rash cream...good god I let people like Sai suffer right under my nose while I was being a sad sack of shit."

Minato muttered to himself as he squeezed some of the cream onto his hands and started to rub the cream onto Sai's inflamed backside.

Sai breathed a sigh of relief as the cool cream made contact on his rash.

"Were you in pain this entire time?"

Minato asked.

Sai nodded.

"Don't wan you worry bout me."

"Sai don't do that, you should tell people when you're in pain especially with a rash as bad as this."

After applying the cream Minato put Sai into a clean diaper.

"There we go...maybe whenever Kakashi gets back we can schedule you a visit to a pediatrician.

Minato said as he placed Sai on the floor.

"Dada Dada nom nom!"

Naruto said as he pulled on Minato's shirt.

"I guess it is time for breakfast huh."

Minato picked up Naruto.

"Onward to the kitchen!"

Minato said as he grabbed Sai's hand and started marching out of his bedroom and into the kitchen.

Once everyone was in the kitchen/ dining room, Minato placed Naruto in his highchair.

"Alright Sai we don't really have any booster seats so we'll have to improvise...I'll be right back."

Minato left the kitchen and he came back with some books and a pillow. The man stacked the books onto the chair and he topped it off with a pillow.

"Here we are, you can sit here."

Minato said as he patted the pillow on the impromptu booster seat.

Sai climbed onto the seat and he sat down.

"Alright you two I'll whip up some breakfast real quick."

Minato went into the kitchen and he began cooking.

Naruto began drumming on his high chair tray.

Sai glanced over at Naruto and he was trying to figure out why drumming was so much fun, so Sai then started drumming on the table.

Naruto then grew bored of drumming so he started kicking his feet, Sai started doing the same.

"Ha ha ha ha Ai pay!!"

Naruto said gleefully.

Sai was confused, is this what playing is considered as?

"Alright you two thanks for waiting."

Minato said as he placed two plates in front of the two boys.

Naruto had got a bowl of scrambled eggs and a piece of toast while Sai got scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast.

Naruto took no time to start digging into his meal.

Sai stared at his plate.

"Go on Sai try it Naruto likes it."

Minato said.

Sai took his fork and he stabbed it into the eggs and bacon and he took a bite of his food.

"...Like it."

Sai said as he continued to eat.

Minato smiled as he saw Sai enjoy his breakfast.

"Maybe once you two are done maybe we can stop by the park, doesn't that sound fun Sai."

Minato said to the boy but he noticed Sai had gone quiet.

"Something wrong Sai?"

Minato asked worryingly.

"D don wanna."

Sai said quietly.

"Don't wanna? what is it that you don't want to do?"

"Don wanna go park...other kids don like me."

Sai said to Minato.

"That's because they don't understand you, come on let's get you and Naruto dressed, I promise you'll have a better time today."

Minato went to pick up Sai but the boy whimpered and look like he was about to cry. Minato wanting to avoid the boy having any form of distress quickly backed away.

"It's okay, it's okay there's no need for tears. We don't have to go to the park we can do whatever you want here."

Sai lowered his head and he went back to eating his breakfast, once he finished he climbed down from the chair and he went walked back to Minato's room where he was attempting to climb back on the bed.

"Dada Ai."

Naruto pointed at the struggling toddler.

"You want to check on him also don't you."

Minato said as he picked up Naruto and carried him back to his bedroom to see that Sai was still unable to climb onto the bed.

"Need help."

Minato said as he picked up Sai and he placed both him and Naruto on the bed.

"Tank you."

Sai said quietly as he started digging through his backpack an pull out a sketchpad.

"I see, you just wanted to draw."

Sai nodded.

"Well yeah we can draw and relax inside today."

Minato said as he sat on the bed.

Sai started drawing on his sketch pad.

"You like to draw a lot, do you know what you're drawing?"

Minato asked as he glanced at Sai's drawing.

"Dunno...I want to draw foe Mr.Kashi and Ms.Anko...cause they nice to me."

Sai said as he continued to draw.

"An Mr.Kashi and Ms.Anko say wen I miss Mr.Kashi and Ms.Anko I pose draw an I won miss them no moe."

Sai said as he started tearing up.

"Bud I draw moe gan an I know Mr.Kashi and Ms.Anko come back...bud I miss them...an an an."

At this point Sai tears were freely flowing from his eyes.

"I wan my Mommy an Daddy!!"

Sai said as he started bawling.

"Waaaaaaaaaah!"

Naruto then started crying right as Sai did as if his sadness was infectious.

"Oh you two."

Minato started hugging both boys.

Naruto was quick to stop crying since he was only crying since Sai was, but as for the aforementioned child he was just barely settling down as he was now just sobbing.

"I know Sai, it's okay...let it out."

Minato whispered to the boy.

Sai continued to cry into Minato's for a few more minutes until he grew tired and silent.

Minato looked down at the two kids he were holding and noticed they had both fallen asleep.

"I guess it is about naptime ain't it."

Minato said as he laid Sai on the bed so he could get Naruto into his crib.

"Ah ah ah."

Naruto started whining in his sleep.

"Oh right be right back"

Minato left the room and he quickly came back with a bottle of milk for Naruto when the rubber teat made contact with Naruto's mouth he instinctively started suckling on it.

"Alright he's good now for you Sai... assuming you have any nap time rituals."

Minato picked up Sai and covered him up, the man then surrounded Sai with a bunch of pillows to prevent him from potentially rolling off the bed.

"Alright kids are down for a nap now I can..."

Minato trailed off as he noticed Sai's backpack which had some more of his drawings including the one he was working on.

"Let's see what we got here."

Minato said as he noticed the kids starting to shift in their sleep.

"But let me get out of here so I don't wake them up."

Minato took the drawings as he left his room and started walking to his study so he inspected the drawings without waking kids.

Minato sat at his desk and he started looking at the pictures, some were the standard pictures of flowers, animals, some animals here or there every now and them, but they were exceptionally well drawn for a toddler.

"Damn, not even for just a toddler, most five year olds can't even draw this good."

Minato said, noting that Sai is pretty talented.

Minato continued to look through the pictures and as he did they were starting to become a bit more grim with some dark imagery most of them showing a tall figure with one eye.

"Danzo."

Minato said with an extended sigh.

"But the most disturbing off was an image of a smaller figure with light grey hair and hints of red drawn all over it, and the next image was a picture of what appeared to be a kunai covered in red.

"Is this supposed to be blood?"

Minato looked through the pictures each depicting the small figure, the grey hair dead and the words I'm sorry and my fault.

"That must be Shin then...and Danzo forced them to kill each other... but it makes no sense how Sai lived, how does a child lose to a toddler?"

Minato sighed as he leaned back into his chair.

He had learned something within this moment. Sai is horribly traumatized by what he went through and that he needed to be a better Kage to his people.
