Jaune Joestar chapter 2

GOW

got to confess pups, this only came out so fast because I wrote it in the break room before I even posted chapter 1 and need something to soothe my nerves before I finish my school paper, to answer a couple of questions I saw. Stands will not be a thing in this story, we focus on Hamon and Semblances since Hamon was superior anyways and semblances are diet stands anyways so... either way hope you enjoy this chapter, see you soon

Part 1: Arcstar Crusaders

Theme 1: Tomorrow's Kings - Dragonforce

Jaune decided to stay at Beacon until the break. While they needed to quell the threat of Dio soon it wouldn't do any good to go before he could control his Hamon or for Ironwood to disappear suddenly. So they waited.

By the time they left Jaune had grown exponentially in his Hamon and combat abilities, while not at Joseph's level Jaune could cause very strong bursts of Hamon and send them up through his sword and shield though he still struggled to keep the Hamon charge for long or even to keep a glass of water still while running. Thanks to the combat training of Joseph and General Ironwood Jaune soon found himself fighting better than a good chunk of his peers, however, the week wasn't enough time for him to join the upper crust with the likes of team RWBY or his partner. Yet time waited for no one, which is how Jaune found himself walking out of Vale in the middle of the night with his grandfather and a military general into the woods, into the land of the Grimm.

"Steady your breath, as a Huntsman and a Hamon user your breath is the most important tool you have, if you can keep an even breath you'll always have some Hamon to use and you'll be able to control your emotions to keep the Grimm from coming to you," Joseph said, crushing a Grimm with his semblance without a break in his step, his words, or his breath as Jaune noted.

"Sorry, I'm just a little nervous." The young Arc said between shaky steps as he did his best to keep his breath even. Never one to be calm and collected in battle, it wasn't easy for him.

"Don't worry Jaune, you'll master it in time, it took me a month for my own training, and I didn't even have my semblance back then," Joseph said as hermit purple vanished.

"I'll still never understand why you named your semblance hermit purple Joseph," Ironwood said, his gun barking and taking out another Beowulf without looking.

"It wasn't me, a fortune teller I met on one of my trips named my semblance and I liked hermit purple, so I just kept the name," Joseph said, turning to view his allies. The trench coat Jaune normally saw him in was gone, replaced by a long sleeve purple shirt and gloves covering his prosthetic and then some with white spots over the knuckles, a green scarf was tied around his neck and a red and white striped headband found its way tied across his head.

"You never told me, how did you learn how to use Hamon, and why did you learn in the first place," Jaune asked.

"Don't worry I'll explain that soon, but first let's deal with our little followers," Joseph responded facing the clearing behind them. Jaune looked around and realized that Joseph led them to a clearing in the trees, whoever he was talking to would be forced into the open or to run around losing time and still giving up their position.

"Come out slowly and keep your hands where I can see them." ironwood said, taking aim where Joseph was facing. Seconds later two people walked out of the trees illuminated by the moonlight, one with their hands up the other skipping with a familiar stupid grin. Even if the moon was darker Jaune would know those two.

"It's okay you two, these are my teammates Ren and Nora," Jaune said.

"Why were you following us?" Ironwood asked, his gun steadied on Nora's head.

"Well, Fearless leader was acting all diaphoretic for the last week of school, which is so out of character that I had to investigate so I decided that it would be a good idea to prepare for a week of brutal combat in the woods to follow him and figure out what was causing this," Nora said.

"We were already preparing to go hiking for the break, but once Nora noticed your odd behavior she wanted us to investigate, she's right you've been much more on edge and shaken lately so I agreed to follow when you snuck away today." Ren explained, eyes split on the men he didn't know "who are you two and what do you want with our leader."

"Don't worry about us, he's fine, you can run off and forget about this kids," Ironwood said, drawing the gaze of both Jaune's teammates.

"You're general James Ironwood, I'm not sure what's happening with Jaune, but make no mistake he is our friend and our leader. Whatever he's involved in we are here to help our leader no matter what, Nora had spoken and I agree. If you have any ill intent towards him,"

"We'll break both your legs!" Nora finished with a grin.

"Calm down everyone!" Jaune said, his voice thundering around. "Ren, Nora, this is my grandpa Joseph we're dealing with a family situation in vacuo that's… not good."

"We'll help then," Nora said, "obviously it's something super dangerous and cool and we'd never leave our fearless leader alone to handle something dangerous or cool! So count us in"

"We'll support you no matter what Jaune, you're our leader and our friend so we won't just leave you alone for this," Ren said

"Thanks guys, but we should keep moving," Jaune said.

"Agreed, we were planning on resting in a clearing close to here, we can make for there and take stock," Joseph said before everyone turned, marching onward.

The group didn't have to walk far to camp, a good thing due to the setting sun. It took them ten minutes to set up camp.

"Always a pleasure to meet some of my grandson's friends, tell me what's he like in school?" Joseph asked while prepping dinner.

"He's amazing! Jauney is our fearless leader who is like totally awesome! Sure he's a little awkward now and then and isn't the best fighter but he's like totally fun to be around and super smart!" Nora rambled on.

"He's not the strongest on our team, but he's smart and loyal, there's a reason Nora and I followed him here and are joining you. For all the faults he has, Jaune has earned our respect and our loyalty so we're happy to help him against any foe." Ren said eyes narrowed at Ironwood and Joseph.

"You don't seem to trust us too much." Joseph pointed out.

"I don't have reason to trust you."

"Good, trust is something that needs to be earned and if you trusted us already I'd be disappointed," Ironwood said from the defensive line he was setting up.

"Not sure why you need that James, a good ol' watch order will be fine," Joseph said.

"Maybe, but I'd feel better if we had extra precautions, besides." James began with a smile. "Atlesian tech is the best in the world."

"You've always loved your fancy gadgets," Joseph said with a chuckle.

"Too bad they won't save you~" a man's voice sang from the nearby tree line. Joseph wasted no time and threw a set of clackers in the direction of the voice infused with Hamon slamming into a tree turning it into splinters.

"So forceful Joseph, was that how you treated my goddess? Is that the pathetic way you plan to treat the second coming?" The voice sang. By now everyone was in combat positions, armed and looking for this attacker.

"Of course, I'm sure weaklings like yourselves will die quickly-" the voice was cut off by the bark of Guns as Ren and Ironwood fired when they heard the voice. "Closer that time I'll admit, but no matter. I shall bring your heads as gifts to lord Dio!" With that he leaped above them from a tree, taking a dive straight to Jaune revealing a scorpion Faunus with a wide sadistic smile.

His shield managed to block the blow and Nora followed up swinging the hammer at the Faunus who dodged by a hair shifting his attack to the berserker knocking her feet from under her.

"Crafty and pretty, perhaps Lord Dio would enjoy your company, girl." He said.

"Leave her alone!" Ren yelled, his guns were discarded as he swung his fist coated in aura and gold light. The Faunus dodged again and was forced back by a volley released from Ironwood's gun.

Jaune went in against him, bashing his shield in to make room before unleashing an onslaught of slashes and jabs with his sword, forcing the Faunus to back away right into the fist of a waiting Joseph.

The Hamon expert hit the assassin with a punch to the back of the head forcing him back into Jaune, who threw his shield in front of him with a burst of Hamon slamming into the assassin once more stunning him long enough for Joseph to get involved again. Hermit purple erupted around Joseph's fist creating a thorny layer around his fists glowing with Hamon as he closed the distance with the assassin.

The Faunus leaped into action just in time however poising his fist in between himself and where Joseph's head would soon be with two blades popping out of his wrist guard ready to impale him, yet Joseph ducked momentum still carried onward as he slammed his fist into the man's gut.

"The next words out of your mouth will be 'but you shouldn't have had time to dodge'"

"But you shouldn't have had time to dodge WHAT!"

"I figured you would anticipate an attack and try to take me out with a headshot, so I went in with a plan to dodge and strike when I knew you'd be open," Joseph said.

A scream of rage erupted from the scorpion Faunus as he rushed Jaune Ancestral blade on guard as he parried the fists and ducked the tail while Joseph and Ironwood closed their own distance allowing Jaune to fall back as the two professionals circled the Faunus.

"Ohh the kids aren't gonna play with me anymore? What a shame" he said, blood dripping from the spot in his gut where hermit purple connected

"There's still time to surrender, you'll face a fair trial in Atlas if you do so now I promise you," Ironwood promised.

"I served my goddess until this Hamon using monster killed her and I shall serve lord Dio until I die!" He said, launching himself at Joseph.

A fist collided with his head and aura flared before the bark of Ironwood's gun filled the air, bullets slamming against Aura. The Assasin didn't seem to notice the bullets ripping away at his reserves he simply threw his aura up all around his body forcing it to keep him moving longer and longer as he flung his limbs at Joseph, not in any move in particular but with the simple attempt to end the other man's life.

Joseph dodged and blocked while Ironwood kept pumping the Faunus's body with dust rounds, even past the point of his Aura failing and the rounds tearing through flesh veins and bone leaving oozing pools beneath him, with the last of his strength he flung his body towards Jaune.

"I will kill one of you, FOR LORD DIO!" he screamed, his final words as Jaune ducked, slashing with his blade covered in Hamon at the Faunus leaving a large Hamon infected wound across his chest allowing him to spasm and die on the ground.

"Perimeter is set, we won't have any more nasty surprises," Ironwood said.

"So that was an agent of our enemy, Dio correct?" Ren asked.

"Looks like it, I wouldn't blame either of you if you wanted to back out now," Jaune said.

"Never." Ren said.

"As if we'd leave our fearless leader to fight a super dangerous evil guy without us!" Nora said with a smile.

"Thanks, it means more to me than you know that you still see me as your leader." Jaune said with a weak smile.

"You'll always be our leader Jaune," Ren said.

"Obviously! How would you be our fearless leader if you weren't our leader," Nora said with a smile. The three friends shared a look with each other and a smile.

"Not to break up the heartfelt moment, but I have to ask Ren, how did you make your fist glow like that during the fight?" Joseph asked.

"An old family trick, when we breath a certain way we are able to enhance ourselves according to my mom, she said learned it from her uncle when she was a baby and taught a little to me before she died," Ren said.

"Renny tried teaching me but I kind of suck at it so I just use it for a bit of strength and a little electric juice to power up my semblance," Nora said with a smile.

"What would your mother's name happen to be?" Ironwood asked.

"Her name was Aria Ren but her maiden name was Zeppeli from what I remember why?" Ren asked. Joseph burst out laughing while Ironwood swore to confuse the kids.

"History repeats itself once again, have I got one hell of a story for you," Joseph said.

"Lord Dio, Tyrian was sent to deal with the Joestars I'm not sure why you still wish for us to prepare for their visit he has never failed you before." a young woman said.

"Simple, because the Joestars will be too much for poor old Tyrian. I'm sure of it, but he should be able to slow them down a little, maybe even kill a friend of theirs." Dio responded

"Why do you have such faith in the Joestars, my lord? Surely I could go wipe them off the map!"

"No you could not Gretchen, the Joestar line is quite strong and quite formidable. Before my hundred-year slumber I acknowledged this, I respect them still which is why even though Johnathan fights my control over his body still. I shall respect him and his bloodline, even as they approach to try and kill me. Of course, there's always the chance that one may be persuaded to join me…"
