A few days passed, August was fast approaching its end. There are two weeks left until the end of the summer vacation. There was a strange and unpleasant atmosphere in the Burrow. Fred didn't speak to George, and he was disappearing. Nobody knew where he was or what he was doing. Weasley worried about him, and his parents tried to talk to him, but to no avail. He usually came home after everyone was asleep. George spent most of his time with Hermione because they had become friends. He liked her sense of humor, the way she was and how she changed. She became more feminine, she knew how to show her strengths, but she was still the same emotional, brave, shy girl who liked books. She made up almost every day, very delicately of course, and dressed in a girly and subtle way. She didn't want to be defiant. She turned into a beautiful woman who was still, deep inside, unconvinced to change. Ginny waited for the day the young Gryffindor girl would reveal to her that she had fallen in love with George, only that he would never happen. The young witch thought more and more about Fred, worried about him, wanted to help him, but did not admit it. He had occupied her mind from the moment of the mishap. She began to notice that he was handsome, funny, and intelligent in his own way, but also lost. She didn't know why he was so lost, she just felt that way. On the other hand, she was angry with him. She couldn't forgive him for throwing her into the depths of cold and deep water.
Meanwhile, Nora was visited by Bill, who announced that he was going to get married in mid-October. Weasley's visit surprised everyone in the house, and the information about the ceremony caused widespread excitement. Nobody knew that the eldest of the siblings met a girl. The shock was even greater when it turned out that the chosen redhead's heart was Fleur Delacour, a participant in The Triwizard Tournament. Celebrating this news lasted until late at night. Everyone was having fun, dancing and singing happily. Hermione had spent the whole evening dancing with George, who turned out to be an excellent dancer, she obviously tried to keep up with him, although most of the time they were just fooling around. Over time, Ron and Ginny, who had previously tried to spend time alone with Harry, joined the two friends. She was hitting him more and more boldly, which the Gryffindor liked, only Fred sat alone at the table drinking Firewhisky. He was looking at the smiling brown haired girl with a storm of curls. He wanted to dance with her, but he couldn't break, he kept telling himself all evening that he didn't want this nerd, he didn't need her on his list, but on the other hand he couldn't watch his twin touch her, wink or hug her. The mere fact that his clone was with her irritated him. He drank a few glasses of alcoholic liquor and went to his bedroom.
George returned to the bedroom he shared with his brother in the middle of the night, and when he entered, he noticed Fred lying on the bed, seething with rage. He felt that he should finally get him to talk. Each previous attempt ended in a fight or the escape of the other twin.
Ge: Hey, why did you run to the room so fast?
F: Not your business!
Ge: Oh my. We are twins, we never quarrel. I would like to know why are you angry all the time?
F: Apparently, something has changed, and we are not perfect brothers who say everything to each other anymore!
Ge: What have I done to you ?! Tell me!
F: You disgust me! How you hit on Hermione is awful! I can't look when you touch her, hug her!
Ge: What exactly do you mean ?! Are you jealous of me being friends with Hermione ?!
F: ...
Ge: Fuck, I don't understand you! If you have any problem for me, tell me!
F: What do you have what, I don't? Why does she prefer to be friends with you than with me ?!
George immediately guessed that Fred was jealous of his relationship with Hermione. The Gryffindor cared for her as he had promised. He didn't want her hurt again. She was like a younger sister to him. He really cared about her, but as someone from his family, a friend, not a girl. True, they spent a lot of time together, sometimes even too much, but they enjoyed each other's company. They got along great. It is worth mentioning that they were rarely the two of us. Most often they were accompanied by Ginny, sometimes also Ron and Harry.
Ge: I take care of her, I promised her, when you act like a bastard! You can't even apologize to her for what you've done!
F: I apologized, but she can't accept an apology.
Ge: I heard your excuse, I thought it was shallow there! You fucked up! You think only about yourself!
F: You drool at the sight of her! Do you like it? Do you want to be with her ?!
Ge: She is like a sister to me, so I promised to take care of her! You're the freak! You fell in love with her! Get over it and do something about it before someone clears it from under your nose. She became a nice chick!
Fred grabbed George by the shirt and nailed him to the wall. He was terribly furious, he couldn't control his emotions. How dare he say that he fell in love with her, after all, he could have and has anyone. He didn't need a virtue all at once. Anyway, Fred Weasley doesn't fall in love! He didn't want one girl forever if he could have many! You will never fall in love! I guess? Maybe it has already happened and he denied it? Maybe deep down he loved Hermione, but couldn't admit it?
F: I can have any, and I don't want Omniscient Granger! And you will definitely hurt her! You will fly and you will forget!
Ge: You forgot that I am not you. I don't fuck everyone who wants me in three months, and someone does! I wonder who? Let's think ?! YOU DO THIS!
F: You won't be lecturing me!
Ge: Oh yeah, I'll be lecturing you! I am your twin and I can see what is happening to you! You're freaking out! You care about Hermione, but you can't admit it to yourself! You're acting like a moron! FRED UNDERSTAND, I DON'T LIKE HER AT ALL!
George didn't like Hermione. The quarrel and nothing that had just been said did not count anymore. A stone fell from his heart. He had spent the last few days thinking about the young witch. He wanted it to be his. At least he thought so, but he knew it wasn't possible, so he would hang out with different girls or just walk around and think about the brown-eyed teenager. He did everything to get rid of the feeling within him that was sprouting at great speed or was in him all the time, and now it was starting to show itself. He wanted her very much, he was drawn to her. He couldn't describe it, but there was something intriguing about it! When he wanted to, go over to her and get her. He remembered being like a sister to him, maybe more. He was incapable of describing his feelings towards the witch. He tried to control his desires, but since she underwent her transformation, it was difficult for him to control himself. Fred's moods were very changeable, at first he was furious with himself and with the whole world, he persuaded himself that he could have everyone and did not want the Omniscient Granger. After a while, he could be calm and wanted to get the Gryffindor girl. He wanted to hug her, kiss her, just to be there. He couldn't describe his feelings for her, he didn't know what was happening to him, but everything was upsetting him. Every little detail about the young witch changed his mood immediately. He couldn't or wouldn't control it, he just wanted to deny this strange feeling.
Ge: I like Angelina, but she prefers you! As always, they all prefer you, even though we are identical!
F: Not true! You have the same take as mine!
Ge: But you are the first! They always choose you first! They look at me as they seek comfort after the king's rejection of Fred Weasley's assholes!
Fred didn't know what to say. He didn't think his twin brother had such a bad opinion of him! What all the rest must have had? What did Hermione feel about him? He was an asshole. He's done a lot of stupid things over the past month, but he didn't know how to fix it. George went to bed maddened and pretended to be asleep. He wasn't going to talk to his clone any longer. He was heartily sick of it. Fred did the same. They both stayed up all night, just thinking about their behavior. The next day, during breakfast, the brothers looked at each other with hostility. Nobody spoke to anyone. Suddenly, an owl flew into the kitchen. She handed the letter to Mr. Weasley and flew out.
A.W: Honey, I write Tonks, they are inviting us with Remus for the weekend. Nymphadora's birthday. What do you think?
M.W: I don't know if it's a good idea, Arthur, to leave the kids alone for the whole weekend?
G: Mom, go. We can handle it. We'll take care of everything with Hermione and Harry.
H: Of course, Mrs. Weasley.
R: You will need some rest, you are constantly helping the ministry to rebuild the world of magic.
M.W: Well, we'll go, but if you organize an event, I don't want to be in your shoes! I am addressing this to you! Fred! George!
Ge: You can, mom, don't worry, nothing will happen.
M.W: Great! Reply to Arthur that we will come!
A.W: Alright honey!
The rest of the day passed rather calmly, without much fuss. The twins did not talk to each other, on the contrary, they avoided each other like fire. Hermione tried to find out from George what had happened, but he was silent. In the evening, he was standing on the terrace smoking a cigarette when Fred approached him, who also lit his pipe.
F: I'll only say it once, man... I'm sorry ...
