Chapter 19 – The Christmas Story
In Tokyo, the winter season has arrived, and everyone is getting ready for a special time of the year, Christmas. In the beginning, Christmas was an unusual event that was only celebrated by the Christians. However, it soon gains acknowledgement by the Japanese and Chinese. As of now, the stores are busy stocking up on the latest toys, technology, and clothes for their customers.
In Godzilla's Castle, Godzilla and the gang are also celebrating this holiday. Mothra and Anguirus are setting up the Christmas tree while Rodan and King Caesar are setting up the decorations. Unfortunately for Godzilla, more paperwork came in and he is having the most difficulty getting them done. Godzilla is very cold, and a maid is aiding him by keeping the blanket on him. One of Godzilla's sneezes shook the castle.
Mothra = "Are you ok?"
Godzilla = "No I am not, despite having a furnace on and a warm coat I am still cold. The training in Russia is supposed to help me. ACHOO!"
Mothra grabs some tissue and gave it to him.
Rodan = "Don't you worry, buddy! Once spring comes along you and Mothra will be blossoming in the sunshine. So, hang in there and snuggle up with Mothra."
Mothra and Godzilla stared at Rodan as we went outside.
Godzilla = "Rodan sure is in high spirits…"
Mothra = "Rodan must be happy for something, did he win something?"
Mothra turned to Anguirus only to find him missing.
Mothra = "Anguirus?"
Anguirus is hiding in the other room when Rodan left.
Anguirus = "That is far from that, Rodan is secretly planning their wedding! I need to think, where is the wedding going to be? I did see Rodan holding a fabric with Cherry Blossom designs. Cherry… cherry…"
Anguirus is in deep thought until something snap.
Anguirus = "I get it, it has to be that place; it's famous for Cherry Blossom! A WATERFALL!"
A few days later, Godzilla and the gang decided to go out shopping to find gifts. King Caesar came up with the idea that Mothra and the others find a gift for Godzilla, while Godzilla finds gifts for everyone. Mothra is at a stationary store looking for things for Godzilla's desk work. Rodan forced Anguirus to check out a ceramic store to find something with hidden meaning. King Caesar found a high quality Matcha pounder. Godzilla went into the fabric stores to find scarfs for everyone.
After the shopping, everyone is back at the castle to prepare for the party. With a few days left for the party, everyone is overly excited. However, Mothra returned and a child is seen clinging onto Mothra's coat.
Rodan = "Hey Mothra, what is going on?"
Mothra = "On my way back from the store, I found her wandering around the streets without a mother. I took her with me because the police station wasn't open."
Godzilla = "Miss, can you tell us what happen?"
Girl = "My name is Koto and I was shopping with mom to get a gift for dad. But I got lost and I don't know where mom is."
Rodan = "Should we find her mother? She must be worried sick about her."
Mothra = "I tried, but the snowstorm arrived early than expected and everything is getting dangerous."
Rodan = "Really?"
Rodan opened the window to see everything white. He clearly cannot see anything. He closed the window and Godzilla sneezed.
Rodan = "I see your point…"
Maid = "Mothra-sama, you want us to prepare a room for her?"
Mothra = "Yes, please."
The maid bowed and left. Mothra took Koto to a small table and gave her some food to eat. Koto quickly enjoy the food. Mothra is on the phone to police to find Koto's mother and schedule a reunion. After the meal, Koto went to the room and fell asleep.
Mothra = "Once the snowstorm goes away, the mother will come to the castle to pick her up. She also told me that she was talking to a friend when Koto went missing. Koto must have forgotten where her mother was and got lost."
Godzilla = "It's a good thing that you have found her, she might have frozen to death."
Mothra = "Yeah, that could've ended badly for the parents."
Everyone went to bed and made sure that the girl is ok.
In the morning, the sky is cleared from the snowstorms and the people shoved they are way through the aftermath. At Godzilla's castle, the mother is reunited with Koto.
Koto's Mother = "Thank you so much, I was so worried. I have looked all over for her." Mothra = "It's fine, I'm just glad that you are reunited."
Koto's Mother = "There has to be a way to repay you."
Mothra = "There's no need for that, Christmas is coming up very soon, so I think it's best to celebrate that first."
Koto's Mother = "You're right, thank you."
As the mother left, Koto wave at Mothra. Mothra wave back and smiled.
The day of the Christmas Party has finally come, and everyone is celebrating. Everyone opened their presents and enjoy the food. Godzilla and Mothra saw a lot of Cherry Blossom theme to their presents and began to wonder if Rodan is planning their wedding.
After a week, Godzilla and the gang gather at a temple to pray for the new year. Then, they went to the hill to see the first sunrise. After that, they went back to the castle to enjoy the feast for the New Year's Day.
Godzilla = "Hey Rodan, about that Cherry Blossom motifs…"
Rodan = "Yes…"
Godzilla = "Are you planning our wedding in spring?"
Rodan = "I'm glad you notice, but I will not reveal the location. It's a surprise, right Anguirus?"
Anguirus = "…Right…"
Godzilla = "Why are you white?"
King Caesar = "I am looking forward to it, just don't go overboard with your plans."
Rodan = "Don't you worry, we have a few months left. We just need Mothra and Godzilla to get some clothes and we are good!"
Both Mothra and Godzilla are nervous and turning red.
Anguirus = "Before that, I am concerned about something. Are you planning something for Valentine's Day and White Day?"
Rodan = "Oh my, what gave it away?"
Anguirus = "That smirk of yours…"
Rodan = "I am still not telling you."
Rodan laughed as he ran and Anguirus gave chase.
King Caesar = "I think the Age of Recovery is official over and the Age of Happiness begins with an official wedding."
Godzilla and Mothra = "WHAT?!"
