Chapter 21 – The Valentine and White

In Kyoto, Mothra is out for a stroll within a garden. Mothra took a seat on a bench and took out an unfinished scarf. Tomorrow is Valentine's day, and she is working on a gift. The scarf she is working on has an ocean pattern, a motif that Godzilla is fond of.

Mothra = "I need to hurry; the scarf is still not long enough for him. Once tomorrow comes, I got to worry about the chocolate."

Mothra continues work on the scarf.

Back at the castle, Mothra's absence is making Godzilla worried. He has been looking into some necklaces for White day for March. However, he noticed that Mothra been going out more often and he is worried that Mothra is not feeling well.

Godzilla = "Hey Rodan, is Mothra doing alright?"

Rodan = "Mothra seems to be fine, anything wrong?"

Godzilla = "Have you noticed that she's been going out more often. She did one time when she needs fresh air, but this is strange."

Rodan = "I promised Mothra not to say anything! If Godzilla finds out that she was making a scarf for him, it wouldn't be a surprise."

Godzilla = "Do you know anything about this?"

Rodan = "No clue, but don't worry. I am quite sure that she is fine."

With Rodan's urging, Godzilla continue his hunt for a special necklace.

Back in Kyoto, Mothra is awfully close to be done with the scarf and she is having lunch in a restaurant. She called Godzilla and let him know that she will be spending the night in Kyoto. Unbeknownst to Mothra, spending the night made Godzilla worried a bit more.

The next day, Mothra went to a shop that sells Chocolate. Mothra took a class that helps her make chocolate. Once her Chocolate Heart is done, she wrapped the chocolate in paper. Then, she heads for the Kamu River to finish the scarf. Once she is finished with the scarf, Mothra took in the sights and sounds of people crossing.

Mothra = "I could tell Godzilla was worried about me, but once I give him the gifts, he will be happy."

Suddenly, Mothra noticed a woman is being pushed over the bridge. Mothra quickly flew to her and saved her. However, Mothra tripped and fell into river.

Inside a hospital, Mothra woke up to find Godzilla and Rodan at her bedside. After Mothra saved the woman and fell into the river, the bystanders quickly save her and called the emergency responders. Godzilla was notified of the situation and rushed over to Kyoto.

Mothra = "What happened?"

Rodan = "You don't remember? You fell in the Kamu River. The bystanders helped you out and called for an ambulance. The woman you saved is alright and she is waiting to thank you."

Suddenly, Mothra screamed.

Mothra = "The gifts! How did I forget that!"

Rodan handed her the gifts that she had made.

Rodan = "They were still on the bench, I grabbed them for you."

Mothra = "Thank you so much, Rodan!"

Rodan smiled and left the room.

Godzilla = "Gifts?"

Mothra = "I'm sorry to make you worry, but I am hopeful that this will make up for it."

Godzilla opened the bag to reveal the scarf and chocolate.

Godzilla = "I forgot about Valentine's day."

Mothra and Godzilla enjoy their time alone before Mothra got an ok from the Doctors to leave. Mothra met the woman who she saved and headed back home in Tokyo.

After a month, Godzilla found the necklace that he has been searching for. The silver necklace has a beautiful and elegant design that mimics the wind. A beautifully cut diamond is fitted in the star design. Godzilla headed to Kanazawa to get it and he went to the shopping district to find white chocolate. However, he found some star rock candys that caught is eyes.

Godzilla = "This is perfect, I hope Mothra will be happy. I wonder if she would wear this on our wedding day…"

Suddenly, Godzilla heard an explosion coming from a restaurant.

Godzilla = "Did something happen?"

Godzilla sees a telephone shaking and is heading towards a little girl who is searching for her mother. Godzilla quickly got the girl away from danger and the telephone pole instead hits him.

In a hospital, Godzilla woke up to find himself in bed with Mothra and Anguirus at his side. After he was hit, he was quickly taken to the hospital and Mothra was contacted.

Godzilla = "Sorry to make you worry…"

Mothra = "I did the same thing in February, so it's fine."

Anguirus = "Your presents are at the side…"

Godzilla = "Oh right!"

Godzilla gave the presents to Mothra. Mothra's face turned red as she sees the necklace and the rock candy.

Mothra = "Godzilla… I love you!"

Mothra hugged him.

Godzilla = "We are even?"

Mothra = "We are so even!"

Anguirus smiled, but he turned to see Rodan on the phone.

Anguirus = "Rodan… What are you doing?"

Rodan smiled as he put his phone away.

Rodan = "No worries my good friend. I was talking to a friend of mine who is helping me with the final stages of our plans. So, I'll be seeing you at a waterfall."

Anguirus turned white as Rodan leaves.

Anguirus = "I knew it! Rodan is taking the wedding ceremony to Miharu, Fukushima! It is the home of Miharu Takizakura!"

Japanology:

Miharu Takizakura is a 1,000-year-old tree in a real-life location Miharu, Fukushima. It is left unharmed by the earthquake in 2011. It blooms beautifully in April.
