Chapter Eighteen

Bella and Alec ended up leaving the reception while it was still going on, knowing vampires they most likely would be staying until the early hours of the morning and that was still a while in the future. Bella had changed into a simple white lightweight spaghetti strap dress that bellowed around her knees and went further past her knees in the back. Alec wore a lightweight white button up shirt, khaki pants and well polished brown leather dress shoes. Both of them looked as though they were going to board a plane or a ship to Cuba, instead they were going to leave for one of the Greek Islands–Rhodes.

Boarding their own private plane, Bella was basically jumping up and down in her seat while Alec was reading an old Greek novel he had wanted to bring with him (she didn't know that they would be going to Rhodes, all she knew was that she was probably going to end up on an island). He was planning on teaching Bella how to speak ancient Greek, even though Demetri had pleaded for him to be the one who would teach her. He was after all from Greece, in fact a good amount of the Volturi vampires that were the originals had come from Greece.

It would only take a few hours for them to arrive in Rhodes, it would have taken a good amount of time if they had decided to go to Cuba instead of Rhodes. Thankfully, the Volturi thought it would be perfect for their newest royal noble to see their roots.

Besides, Alec had always enjoyed traveling through Greece with his family, except for Demetri. He had been quite annoying whenever he would go through Greece, as though he were an Olympic God that had decided to come down from Olympus to fraternize with all the mortal women. It would still be annoying when Demetri would find his mate, whoever they were.

When they arrived in Rhodes, Bella eagerly took her new husband's hand and went down the plane steps onto the tarmac of the runway. There was a simple, expensive, sports car that wasn't a limousine. Alec didn't see a reason why he had to have one for them to enjoy their honeymoon together. It would make them less noticeable, since he was the one that would grab the entire focus of everyone around them on the island.

It was starting to get late in the day, nearing nightfall, when the car pulled up to the house they would be staying at for the honeymoon.

The first thing that greeted them was a white clay fence with two large signature Greek blue gate doors that led onto the property. There were many climbing plants and flowers throughout the property, as though they were trying to make sure to grow a meadow around the house despite the fact that there were properties around them and not just empty but beautiful nature landscapes. There were two hanging lanterns that were put on the top of the gate doors that wouldn't be lit by one of the village folks, since it was solar powered and could stay lit all the night.

Alec opened the gate doors and ushered Bella forward so she could be the first one to look at the property. The Volturi had bought the house for Bella and Alec, as a present for them whenever they would want to travel to Rhodes in the future.

The main house for him and her, and everyone in Volturi was an old Greek Mansion that was rumored to be owned by an old Greek councilman during Julius Caesar's reign. Alec had gone to the mansion before, but it would be completely different once he would go with Bella. She would be looking at the mansion with new eyes, though she probably wouldn't like how there were beautiful women that worked in the mansion hoping to become vampires also. Another case such as Gianna of course.

The clay wall that was built around the property went to the left side of the property, and up to where the higher part of the house was–the living section of the house. There were natural stone steps that were built against the wall that went up to the front balcony of the house, which also had more stone steps that went up to the tiny gate door for Bella and Alec to go through.

Then they would officially be at the house, it was only one floor but had two bedrooms and two bathrooms–along with a tiny kitchen but no dining room. The place was cozy, but it was obvious that the house wasn't meant for many people. All of it was in the natural white clay and had little details that were in zellige tile. Only the best was for the Volturi.

Alec ushered Bella towards the bedroom bathroom, before he said he would take a quick shower in the guest bathroom. He bent his head down and pressed his lips against her forehead and held her against him, his fingers brushing down teasingly to her sides as though to try and feel the way her skin was warm and alive underneath her dress. Bella remembered how he had been so tender when he was making love to her while he had those fingers of his running against her skin.

"Go take your shower, Alec. I'll go and take mine too."

Alec pouted but nodded his head before he kissed her on the top of her head. He pulled away from her and went out of the bedroom. Bella drifted into the larger bathroom, the master bathroom. She blinked in shock two times at the sight of how alive she was in the mirror. She wasn't the same Bella that found out she had lost her memories. She was so much more than the poor girl who was the ex-girlfriend of a boy that left her because he didn't want to fight for their relationship.

Pulling her clothes off, Bella went into the shower after she cleaned her face off from the makeup that was coating her features. There was a tiny part of her that commanded her to have kept that makeup on, but she already was married. She obviously wouldn't have married Alec if all he cared about were her looks, this was a lot more than just a relationship based off the surface. They knew each other far more than the surface, they would bury deep within the Mariana Trenches of each other.

She took a shower without trying to think too much about how she was acting as though she was a blushing virgin. She only had sex once before in her life, and it had been a magical night. It was the perfect first time for her. It also meant a lot to her that it was the same for Alec, how he never seemed to have cared about having sex in the past. She wouldn't have not loved him just as much as she did now if he had indeed lost his virginity long ago.

Once she was finished with her shower, she came out and dried herself off some. She contemplated sneaking in one of her lingerie sets that Alice had bought for her. She decided in the end since she was naked right now there was no point in her doing so. She brushed out her hair and cracked the bathroom door. She didn't see Alec in the bedroom waiting for her.

"Alec?"

One moment the bedroom was empty, and the next Alec was in front of her with silk briefs that clung to him in all the right places. Her mouth felt open, for his muscles were glistening some from the drops of water from the shower. His wedding ring on the other hand was the sexist thing she saw on him, to know that he was hers finally.

"Yes, my love?"

Bella ducked her head down and took a deep breath before she spoke, "I just got out of the shower and um…well I know last time I was dressed in lingerie. I hope that you don't–"

SEX SCENE BELOW

Alec reached his hand out so that Bella put her hand in his. He gently pulled her out from behind the bathroom door. She was in front of him. Bare but glistening some from the water that dripped down her chest, her abdomen, and much further down. She stood there with her hair long enough to cover most of her breasts, including her nipples. She reminded him of a nymph goddess that had been hiding in the woods but had come out so she could see who had come upon her land.

"W-What are you doing? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"You are Persephone, goddess of youth and spring. You stand before me, and I feel as though I am a mortal man," Alec whispered, enough for Bella to laugh some at what he had said. He had knelt down so that his head was pressed against her stomach, her navel.

Bella brought him up so that he was looking down at her, enough for her to shake her head. "If I am Persephone then I am not in the presence of a mortal man. I am with Hades, for though blood and death cling upon your skin and lips I will stain them with life and youth."

Alec took her hand and gently led her to the smug bed that was covered with lightweight bedspreads in the color of coral. The pillow shams were in the pattern of banana leaves and there were little lights that were strung around the ceiling, bringing in another warm light. There were some windows that had been carved into the wall to the outside–so they would always be open. There were other windows that had Bermuda shutters the same Greek blue.

Bella stayed still upon the bed, not wanting to go and be anywhere else, as Alec pulled his boxers down so that all of him was for her to see. She blushed, still not accustomed to seeing below his hips. Alec arched one of his eyebrows up at her, a smugness that made her reach her hands up and put them over her face.

"Don't look at me like that, Alec Volturi!"

She felt the dip of a body getting onto the bed, hovering over her, and she felt her hands being pulled away from her flustered face. Alec reached his hand out and put it in her hair, smoothly running his fingers through her hair. She pouted at him, as he remarked, "but I wish to see the face of my beautiful Isabella Volturi. My wife."

"Your wife is contemplating on going to sleep and making you go into the living room."

"You would deprive your new husband of making love to you on your honeymoon? Okay, I guess I can–"

Without thinking, Bella reached her hands up and placed them on each side of his face, interrupting him from even saying that he would get up from the bed. "Don't you dare leave this bed. You're not allowed to leave the bed until you have properly ravished me."

Alec smirked at her before he leant down and pressed his lips against her, a silent promise that he would do what she had promised. She was his life, she was his wife, she was his Isabella.

END SEX SCENE

By the time Bella and Alec had consumed each other until she was aching and tired, sweat dripping down her naked body, and eyes content with all the world, the sun had come. Bella curled up on her side and went to sleep, peaceful and happy. She had never imagined she would know what it was like to be worshiped so immensely by her husband in ways that to her were thought of as impossible until he had shown her through patience.

The next morning, when Bella woke, she groaned a little in pain but that was to be expected. She was, after all, celebrating her honeymoon with a vampire. She found herself being pulled upwards some and noticed how Alec was dressed in a similar ensemble as last night before they had gone and taken their showers.

"Hello, my beautiful wife. I have gone ahead and drawn a bath for you. I'll join you but only if you are fine with it. I'll do nothing more than help wash you."

Bella nodded her head, as he helped her out of the bed and into the grand bathroom. He sat her down onto the side of the tub, where she could notice some bruises littering her skin and hurt a little bit but there wasn't real damage. Alec had a flicker of annoyance at the bruises but when she gave him a look as he undressed to get into the bathtub with her, he knew that she didn't regret having sex with him multiple times last night–each time a little harder and faster than the last.

Getting into the bathtub, it didn't take long for Alec to get in next to her. There was a window next to them that had the Bermuda shutters, which were open some but not enough that someone could see all the way through into the bathroom. The hot weather reminded Bella how they were in Rhodes, Greece. She was in Greece for her honeymoon, it was enough that she couldn't help but smile brightly at the knowledge that she was celebrating her honeymoon somewhere far away and stunning and had such a rich history.

Bella didn't know how long they stayed in the tub; all she knew was she was absorbing all she could as she lay within that tub with her back pressed against her husband. She smiled as his hands ran through her hair or against her skin. She allowed him to kiss her, touch her, and love her as she lay there peacefully while there were cars and people that were conversing outwards.

Eventually they both got out of the bath and dried themselves off before they got dressed. Bella put on a white sundress that fell a few inches above her knees where there were lemons with little leaves still on them printed randomly across the white background. The sleeves were long, thick straps on the top of her shoulders, and she had a floppy sun hat placed on her head in a playful manner from her vampire husband moments later.

Together, husband and wife went out with an umbrella over the husband to keep him from having the sunlight hit him directly and cause people to turn around to see him walking down the street. They wouldn't have to have to worry about the sparkles that were against the pale skin, nor did they have to worry about his eyes since he was wearing a stylish pair of sunglasses. Bella had on a matching pair of sunglasses herself, one of her arms wrapped around her husband. The wind came and ruffled her skirt along with floppy hat.

Finding one of the restaurants that had empty tables and chairs on the inside still, Bella allowed Alec to pick out whatever she should eat for a late breakfast. Children were sitting at tables speaking in English while others were sitting and speaking in Greek. Alec turned his attention towards some of the children when their teenage sister came up to them to get onto them. She had her mouth fall open when she saw Alec coming over with his hands stuffed into the pockets of his pants.

"Kalimera! (Good morning!)"

The teenage girl blushed bright red as she said hello back, while Bella sat watching her husband begin to have a conversation about sight-seeing around here. Bella observed her husband as he conversed easily with the humans around him. She watched as for a moment it was as though he were human also, instead of a vampire. She smiled as he talked to the children, before he said something, while he waved his hand towards Bella. She was certain that he was telling them she was his wife.

The teenage girl had disappointment flicker across her features at the knowledge that Alec was indeed married but she didn't show too much disappointment. She instead gathered the children up and wished goodbye to Alec before she left. Alec went over to where the counter was and picked up the food when their number was called and came over to Bella.

"What were you doing over there? I saw you shamelessly being charming," Bella proclaimed before she picked up her fork and stabbed into the omelet that had been made from the ingredients that were in town. She chewed on it and waited patiently for him to respond.

"I was asking them about some of the places we should go to. Their first and most logical decision was for us to go down to the beach. They were planning on going down to the beach this afternoon. Their sister had been in charge of taking care of them since their parents were away and they snuck through the back door before coming here. She tried flirting with me, but I couldn't help but point you out and tell them how I was on my honeymoon."

Bella took a sip of the fresh lemonade that had been just squeezed, before she reached her hand out and took his in hers. Some of the sunlight hit them and made their wedding rings glimmer, reminding them once again they were on their honeymoon. Two nineteen-year-olds sitting at a table in a random restaurant were newlyweds and one of them was a vampire, within Rhodes, Greece.

"To be honest, I'd love to go to the beach, but I think that sensitive, pale complexion of yours would burn in the sun," Bella joked, a bright smile upon her lips at the fact that she had a subtle vampiric joke out in the open without anyone being any the wiser.

"Maybe next time."

And so, Bella allowed Alec to take her around the city. She peered at everything around her with widened eyes, demanding him to tell her what was written in Greek or what was said in Greek. He told her without any issues nor without any reasons to want to tell her to learn the language herself. They would have all the time in the world for them to have her learn all the languages he had learnt from the millennium he had been alive.

It was late one night, while Alec had gone to get something to eat, himself, that Bella was cooking a random recipe some of the local women were telling her she should have to try before she would head back to Italy. She had gathered all the ripe and fresh ingredients, prepared to make the food with an eagerness no one would want to deter from her the other day since the meal would take around a day to cook. The women claimed their husbands could prepare the meat for her and the rest of it she could cook by herself if she wanted (though they were only a few doors down if she decided she wanted to have some help after all).

It wouldn't be until she was putting the ingredients into a pot to make Roditiki Lakani, that the scents all hit her at once and made her rush over to the sink to empty out the contents of her stomach. She glanced over at the pot where it was waiting for her to make the meal–the goat meat, the onions, cinnamon sticks and long-smelling cumin must have been what had made her stomach twist at the thought of ingesting the whole meal.

Alec came into the house; confusion ever present upon his features as he came over to her. He glanced over at the meal and cringed his nose back, he had been without food for so long he didn't imagine what it was like to actually eat food. He had been changed two centuries before it reached a millennium in the year of the lord. So yeah, it had been a long time.

"Tesoro, what's wrong?"

Bella up righted herself before she turned and looked at Alec, sending him an assuring smile. He could tell she wasn't really all that into it, she probably felt like shit to be honest. She looked like it, but he would never tell her this. She was clammy and sweaty, and he could sense that she had a bit of a fever that was about to break through to the outer parts of her skin.

"I think I caught something; I hope you don't mind that I go to bed."

Alec shook his head as he reassured her this was fine. He wrapped his arm around her and gently led her into the bedroom. He undressed her and slipped on one of her cotton nighties over her. She went into the bathroom, and he helped her brush her teeth and then brushed her hair out and led her back into the bedroom. He placed her within the bed and kissed her forehead.

Telling her he was in the living/front room of the house; Alec walked out of the bedroom and went to the couch to browse through all the different television shows that were popular in Greece. He knew Demetri would demand to know about these television shows since he needed to know how cringe worthy the country he had been born and changed into a vampire had gotten.

He had barely settled into the couch and actually got into the plot of the television show for once when he heard Bella rushing out of the bedroom and into the bathroom. He flinched as he heard her start throwing up again, he got up from the couch and went into the bathroom. She frowned as she flushed the toilet and its disgusting contents.

"Alec, can you get me my travel sized calendar book?"

Alec nodded his head before he went into the bedroom and looked through her purse. He pulled out the calendar and went into the bathroom, handing the calendar book to her a moment later. She still sat pathetically on the tiled floor, obviously sick as a dog from whatever was happening to her. She didn't pay attention to him, instead she was flipping through the calendar book as though she was a mad woman on a mission.

She gasped as she reached what she was looking for, flipping the latest month back and forth to the last one to see if she had gotten it right. Wordlessly she handed it to him and motioned for him to look at it. She observed him as he looked at the calendar, noting how she had everything written down with pretty handwriting and she liked to use purple ink first. (of course, her husband would notice how she wrote everything in purple and how pretty her handwriting was)

No.

It couldn't be.

He knew that Immortal Children existed. They were children that had been changed into vampires, from infancy up to the age of twelve. They had power unlike any other and were often found destroying villages all in one night. He and Jane had been forced to track down these children and kill them since they would bring more attention to the vampire world.

A human woman impregnated by a vampire male.

It was something that could only be mere legends, mere whispers. Nothing that could let them know was actually real. It wasn't something that could actually be true. There was no evidence, there were no children that had been found that were half human and half vampire.

Yet Bella had missed her period, she had never missed her period before. Her period had always been on time, never late. She was supposed to have already had her period last week, but it had already been a week and there was no way he couldn't tell if her body was trying to make her have a period, but nothing really happened.

"I'm pregnant, Alec. I can't believe it, I'm pregnant."

"We don't know that for sure. I'll go and buy you a pregnancy test, just to prove that it's not possible. It can't be possible."

Bella barely heard him leave the house before she got up from the ground and turned to her side. She noted how there was a curve of her stomach, a curve which women usually got when they were three months pregnant. She snapped her head away from the stomach when she heard her phone ringing, allowing her to know that Alice had been calling.

If Alice was calling, then this couldn't be good. It only validated the truth. Bella would trust Alice telling her she was pregnant long before a pregnancy test would.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: yep, our Bella is pregnant! I hope that you enjoyed this chapter.

as always: Twilight doesn't belong to me

I haven't decided if I'm going to split the pregnancy into two parts, but we'll find out when I finish the next chapter.
