The Eight were on the train to Hogwarts, all talking in a room together.

"So, we officially believe Hans is becoming a Death Eater?" Hiccup asked the group.

"Aye," Merida nodded. "If he already isn't one."

Kristoff asked, "But what does Drago's plan have to do with Hans?"

"I don't care," Jack stated. "I only care what it has to do with Eugene."

Hiccup gave Jack a concerned look. "You're not the only one who misses him."

"No, but none of you miss him as much as me," Jack started, "or my dad, or Rapunzel."

Hiccup leaned forward, putting his elbows on his knees, and looked to the ground…hurt.

Astrid put her hand on Hiccup's leg and told Jack, "We love him too, Jack."

"I'm going to go ask him where Eugene is," Jack said and stood to leave.

"You're going to confront him now?" Elsa questioned. "You could start a fight."

"I'm not worried," Jack replied. He stepped out, turned to meet Hans, stopped and fell back on his rear.

"Jack?" Rapunzel got up to help, but Eugene leaned down with a helping hand first.

"You okay?" Eugene, standing in front of Jack, asked.

Jack stood without Eugene's help.

Before either could react, Rapunzel came between them.

Eugene gave Rapunzel a loving smile. "Rapunzel," he said as he reached out to touch her.

Rapunzel slapped him across the face.

The others gasped.

Tears swelled in Rapunzel's eyes as she dug her nails into her palms. "Never leave us like that again!"

"It wasn't a choice." Eugene rubbed his cheek and looked to Rapunzel. "I just escaped him. I'm sorry."

Rapunzel sobbed uncontrollably and jumped into Eugene's arms.

Jack stepped forward.

Eugene reached out and so did Rapunzel.

Jack ran into the embrace and cried with Rapunzel; both saying how much they missed Eugene.

Later, as The Nine were walking towards the gate before entering Hogwarts to have their things searched, everyone was asking Eugene what it was like with Drago and the Death Eaters.

Before Eugene could answer one of the questions, Alice came up to the group.

"Merida." Alice said to the redhead. "Thank you for allowing me to use your Time Turner this summer."

"You're welcome," Merida replied. "When will I have it back?"

"I'm not sure. I seem to have misplaced it," Alice admitted.

Merida sighed. "Well, I'll help you search for it during Christmas break, ya?"

"Sounds wonderful," Alice agreed. She then turned her attention to Eugene. "Flynn, very nice to see you again."

"Like-wise," Eugene said with a genuine smile.

Alice smiled, told the others bye and skipped off.

Mansnoozie casted a protection spell over the gate once it closed and a butterfly was killed by the force-field.

Inside Hogwarts, after a 'rousing' speech from the Sorting Hat about staying strong during difficult times; North came to his podium and announced the return of a new professor.

"Please welcome, Professor Frank Stein," North said.

Everyone applauded for Frank; he stood and barely bowed, with a wide smile.

North continued, "Yes; he will be teaching potions this year and the Defense Against Dark Arts class will be handed over to Professor Munds."

Only Slytherin applauded this news, minus the twins, Elsa and Astrid.

"Great," Jack groaned.

"Tonight your things were searched and you have the right to know why." North told the students. "There was once a young man who sat in this very hall, just like you. He walked this castle's halls and slept under its roof. To the world, he seemed like any other student. His name was: Dustin Babcock."

Students began to murmur, some wondering who Dustin was…

"However, today he is known by a much more sinister name. A name I am not legally allowed to say. Looking out at your young faces…I am reminded of the fact that at this very hour, every second of every minute, there are dark forces attempting to come into this castle. For you, could become their greatest weapon…something for you to think about and not forget; now off to bed. Davai, davai!"

Kristoff blew out the side of his mouth with his eyes wide. "Not his best speech so far," he said to Merida.

"Aye, but not his worst," Merida joked.

Kristoff chuckled. "But it's definitely up there."
